--------------------
General Information
--------------------
Name: Idoya Mendoza
Actual Age: 152
Appearing Age: Early teens
Gender: Female
Race: Gillian
Rank: Numeros
Number: 74
Appearance
Idoya is a short young woman who stands at little over five foot four. She is a small, slender woman, weighing about 108 lb. Her neck and legs are short, but her arms and fingers are long, reaching down to her knees when straightened. Another noticably large feature about her would be her ears. They stick outwards, and are not actually large, but rather prominent. Her complexion is pale from the lack of sun in Hueco Mundo.
Idoya's hair is short and black. Her hair is messy and tousled, standing on end in some places. Her hair noticeably raises when she feels threatened. Other than that, her nose is very pointed and wide. Her teeth are jagged and sharp, fitting together like a jigsaw puzzle. Her eyes, meanwhile, are very round, and her irises are very large with a dark, chocolate brown hue. On either side of her jaw, there is a remnant of her mask: a piece of jaw with small but jagged teeth.
Her attire is slightly off of the arrancar uniform. It consists of a cropped white-jacket (which stops at her ribs and has a dark seam across the elbow-length sleeves) bandages to cover her chest, and a maroon sash around her waist paired with a far shorter version of her hakama. Disliking her hakama, Idoya took her zanpakuto to them and trimmed them down to her knees, then tied the ends together to create a ruffled bottom. She does not wear tabi, nor shoes, as her toes are long--like fingers, and will not fit into them. Her hollow hole is located at her naval, and is the same size as her fist.
Personality
Idoya can best be described with the following word: Smartass. Extremely intelligent and prone to boredom, she'll often make sarcastic remarks and search for ways to entertain herself. Unfortunately, she has an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and tasks, and when they are not available she goes stir-crazy almost immediately. Idoya finds herself practically begging for something to do. Stricken with an awful case of OCD, she often finds herself picking at her hair incessantly when not supplied with a task. To counter this, she often searches for reading material (and sometimes sneaks off to bookstores in the human world).
Idoya is very critical of those she deems stupid, or crazy. She gained some admiration for humans, as many of them have proved to provide excellent entertainment for her. However, when she reads certain books, she'll often exclaim about how nonsensical they are, and how the plot makes no sense, or a character's way of thinking makes no sense. She also complains like this to people who confide in her - which are few and far between - because she simply is not an empathetic person. However, in some cases, she's willing to put these criticisms aside - or at least keep them to herself. For example, she wouldn't dare tell a superior that their way of thinking is illogical. That doesn't stop her from thinking it as loudly as she can.
As one can safely assume, Idoya prefers outsmarting her opponents to overpowering them. She believes a good strategy is key for anyone who wishes to win a battle, especially against someone stronger. However, she doesn't actually like to fight, though will if she is told to or if she must. She derives little enjoyment from battle, as the thought of possibly losing her life does not appeal to her. This, and she is not good with taking hits. She prefers to dodge, rather to confront and counter, and this is easily picked up on by more seasoned opponents, and sometimes superiors.
Idoya is convinced that shinigami are in need of reformation, and that they should be able to accept that hollows need to eat too, as it's all a circle of life. She believes that Aizen has tried to achieve this in Los Noches, despite some of his actions. However, she is not hypocritical and believes that hollow and arrancar need to play a part in this. She does not believe that such a peace will be reached in her lifetime, but hopes to see otherwise.
History
Try to imagine yourself in a dark theatre. On the screen before you, you see a girl, long, groomed black hair, and calm, tame brown eyes. This is not the girl you will be receiving commentary from. Instead, another, much more feral-looking teen jumps in and kicks the other off of the screen - quite literally. She stood where the other once stood, brushing herself free of debris and addressing her audience with a strong, powerful voice. "Alright, let's get this over with. And as a side note, stop being so paranoid! I'm not trying to control your mind!"
The screen goes black, and the film begins.Scene One - A brief history of Idoya's Humanity
The girl from before, from the opening sequence, appeared on the screen. Her hair was long, and groomed, her eyes were a calm brown. She watched a boy her age as he scrambled around their home, searching for something.
"Now that moron over there, he's my brother. The idiot couldn't find his knife. What a dumbass."
Suddenly, a knock came at the door. The boy quickly ushered his sister away, pushing her past a small stoop in the floor and lifting a loose panel from the ground. He gestured for her to hide, and she did. It seemed so plain, so normal. Like something natural, even.
"And that kid over there's me."
Quickly, she pulled the panel down over her head and hid from view. The door opened, and several men entered.
"Alright, where's that little snot?" The first of the three said, barging in and pulling a metal rod from his side. "She ain't gonna get away with it this time!"
"She's not here!" the boy said defensively.
"Oh, let me explain... This is just some tiny town in Japan, back in the day... I stole from them. Oh, and he's wrong, I did get away with it. I mean, he didn't catch me red-handed now did he?"
"Alright, then where the hell is she?!"
"So pushy... Lucky my brother over there isn't gonna squeal, right?"
He squeezed his eye shut and cracked, pointing to the floorboards.
"Snitch."
They pulled her out from under the floorboards, and suddenly... the screen skipped to another shot entirely.
"That was boring, so I'll spare you the details... Oh, you actually wanted to know? Well, my brother and I over there, we didn't have such a great life. We were always hungry. When I got a little bit older, and a little bit tougher, I used to steal from anyone who left themselves open. Now that guy over there made the mistake of leaving his merchandise unattended, so I treated myself. I thought you'd wanna know how this ended up killing me. Am I right?"
And the screen became far more clear as it began to play again, showing a large, bulking man with a knife in hand. The screen panned away from the gruesome scene, leaving a lot to the imagination.
"Good times."
Slowly, from a mangled, bloodied corpse emerged a girl, the same face, the same eyes, but a ghostly pale complexion and hair chopped short. And time seemed to fly as she stood, still connected to her body while the days fluttered by. Despair rolled from her body like rain. In fact, it was raining when the chain finally melted from her body. And it was not much longer until the chain began to fall apart even more, leaving her with nothing left but an empty expression, and no more tears to cry.
"I gotta say, I wasn't too happy staring at my own corpse for three months straight."
Slowly, her chain erupted, and her soul corrupted. A white mask formed across her face, with large jaws and round eyes.
"I do so love the hollowfication.
And she ran off of the screen.Scene Two - A briefer showing of Idoya's life as a hollow
And the creature lumbered through sand, dead gray arms dragged across the ground as she carried herself through the sand. Another hollow appeared on screen, and she slowly began to work her way around it, waiting for it to strike first.
"Do we really need to see this? It's the same with every hollow who retains a shred of conscious thought... I wanted revenge on the bastard who killed me, and I needed to satiate my thirst for souls too. I mean, I would have killed my brother, but the bastard died while I was still in the 'plus' phase. Dumbass."
the scene still played as she spoke, showing the ape as it masterfully struck the other hollow through the head when it came too close, and slowly began to pick through it and devour it.
"Yum."
The scenes slowly flipped to nothing more than screenshots of her killing, and killing, and killing again. Of her taking injury, of her licking her wounds, of her fleeing from a fight, knowing she would lose if she stayed.
And then of her in a crowd.
And then of her and another.
"And then the rest, as they say, is history. Poof! I'm a menos now. See?"
A menos indeed, as they merged, she struck the other down. Her will was stronger; far stronger. She wanted the power to find her killer in hell and gain her retribution. But only one problem...
"Too bad I forgot that I was gonna try and kill him later. It would have been so fun."Scene 3 - The Gillian Part!
"Do we have to? It barely even makes sense!"
But the scene began without flaw.
It wandered the sands with irritation rolling off like waves from the sea. Only this sea boiled.
"So I basically moped around the entire time, ate what I could, and then this happened!"
Another gillian found her, and it was angry. It came for her with flaming eyes and tried to eat her, but she shook away in time. She quickly attempted to counter before it could strike again, but it was faster than she thought. It struck her in the head, and as she sunk her fangs into its neck, her body shrank, and a piece fell off.
"Well hello there, gorgeous."
It was a small young woman, with short but wild hair, with long arms that reached the floor, without a mask. And without a few other things too.
The screen suddenly flipped to a picture of the girl's face as she exclaimed, "Eyes up here, pervs."Scene 4 - Have you seen my pants?
And now, the woman covered herself with what looked to be a black cloak. Or, more likely, the skin of a gillian. She wore it like a dress, walking with her head held high as she found her way to the place she had heard of, Los Noches. Although, from what she had heard about it, it didn't have walls. It had no roof. It was simply a thrown.
"But Mr. Gaudy McBuilds-a-lot had to fix that, now didn't he?"
Instead, the large, white dome of Los Noches hung overhead, and she slowly walked towards the formidable monument with her eyes weary and nervous. Small as she was, she had learned little about herself this way, and she thought that maybe the man who built the palace might have a better idea.
It was not the man himself, but one of the arrancar created by him who told her how the man would help the hollows. How they had grown stronger.
"Sounded like he was trying to sell me something."
And as she entered the palace, following the other arrancar, she smiled a crooked, feeble smile. She could not manage anything else.
The screen flipped again.
Now there was a girl, tying her bandages around her chest, and throwing on her jacket. Her arms, noticeably smaller, slipped through a jacket. She already wore her hakama, though folded them up so that they were not quite so long. Her feet remained bare, and her toes looked remarkably like fingers. She wore the uniform proudly, and she was proud to serve the man who gave her a home, and a purpose. Who graced her with that weird, glowing purple sphere, along with others, and allowed her a more complete transformation.
Slowly, the screen began to dull and darken.
"So what's left? Well, we're gonna see now aren't we. Gotta write your own history sometimes."
And the screen went black.

Zanpakutō

Name: Mono Colmillo
Translation - Monkey's Fang
Call Out Phrase: Cortar, Mono Colmillo.
Translation - Sever, Mono Colmillo.
Appearance
Idoya wields a very small dagger with a serated edge. The blade is only eight inches long, and the handle is six. The dagger, as previously mentioned, is serated with long, fang-like protrusions that extend from one inch at the base, growing an inch with every "tooth." There are three teeth on the blade, and the longest one is four inches. The hilt is a solid ivory, and there is a plain, triangular guard. The white sheath is fitted to match the blade, and so the sheath is about six inches wide. Because she doesn't like using her weapon, she often conceals it in her sash, tied to her back. She refers to her weapon as a toothpick, and claims she can do far better with her fists than she can with an eating utensil.

Resurrección
--------------------
Appearance
Idoya loses the uniform and spouts coarse black fur all over her body. It stops at her wrists and ankles, and her neck, leaving unruly tufts of fur behind. Her eyes become more feral, growing large and round, and darker than before. Her pupils elongate and narrow to slits. Her mask fragment extends, leaving two long fangs that cross her face lengthwise. They curve around under her jaw, leaving a thin outline across her own jawline. Her arms lengthen considerably, and fall to her ankles. Her nails sharpen and lengthen, growing to jagged claws. They extend a few inches over her hands (two or three). Her feet look like second hands, toes lengthening. Otherwise, she looks mostly the same.
Abilities
Monkey's Bite
- Description of Attack - Her sole ability, Idoya releases reiatsu through her nails and focuses it into long, razor sharp blades of reiatsu. Each blade is roughly three feet long, and ivory white. She then brings one arm down, and raises the other up, and attempts to catch her foe between them. The reiatsu disperses if not used immediately.
- Type - Offensive
- Range - Three-feet long, plus the four feet on her arms.
- Limitation - To create the blades takes two seconds, and afterwards she has only four seconds to launch an attack. It takes roughly eight percent of her reiatsu to use each time. Damage is done respectively based on tier and other variables; when she is weaker, the blades will disperse early. The blades can be easily broken with someone of an equal tier or higher's zanpakuto, or kido, or cero. Depending on how strong someone is, they may be able to break it with their bare hands.

Sample Post

A gargantua ripped open in the midst of a small town outside of Tokyo. Idoya couldn't care less about the name, but as she stepped from the air, the dark, misty air, she scanned the town. It was nice. Maybe if they had some good books she would visit again. A long, lanky arm running up to her hair, she idly scratched the back of her head and continued walking. It was as though she were walking on an invisible staircase, which wasn't too far off. As she made her descent, she saw several people walking down the streets. Clearly, some of them were up to no good.
Not her problem.
She allowed her eyes to linger on the small, mouse-like man as he scurried across the street and into an alley, and even turned around and hesitated as she watched another man pull a knife on him. That toothpick was even smaller than her zanpakuto, but it struck some sort of fear in the other man. He scrambled about, searching for some form of offering to appease his attacker, coming up with a small, leather rectangle. Idoya frowned.
"Money," she figured. She watched as the assailant scurried off with the wallet, and the other man, in his shock, removed another small rectangle, tapped on it several times, and held it to his ear. Calling for help. She'd read a fair amount about these things, it was all fairly routine. Either the person would surrender their money, the most common case, refuse and get themselves injured, less common, or fight back. That at least made more sense, though escaping with one's flesh in tact seemed far more appealing.
She ignored the rushing sirens and the flashing lights. She continued walking until she reached what she was looking for - which was fairly obvious. A bookstore. Small. Cramped. But overflowing with books. Millions of pages and billions of words. Of beautiful, beautiful words.
She smiled, and she entered.
