General Information
--------------------
Name: Sayuri Sasaki
Actual Age: 77
Appearing Age: 16~
Gender: Female
Appearance
Despite having lived for a near century, she still looks like she is in her mid- to upper teens. She has a short, very lean, gangly girlish physique, and a soft pale complexion which contrasts against dark brown eyes. Her dark brunette hair is cut at the nape of the neck and combed in a part with her bangs partly covering her left eye, and she has a long lock of hair with three hair beads at its center, that hangs down from her right temple to her chest.
On her left hand she wears a white hooked clothe gauntlet with leather ties wrapped around the forearm of it; while on her right is a white fingerless long-sleeved clothe gauntlet that goes up to the bicep, both of which have a rectangle metal plate on the back of the hand. She still wears her personalized Onmitsukido uniform, which is a black pant-legless and sleeveless one piece suit, but tied around her tiny waist is the white obi sash commonly seen on the Gotei 13 uniform, the extra length of the sash hangs off to her left side. Covering her legs up to the thigh are a pair of white clothe leggings with a set of five shurikens holstered and strapped to the upper part of her right thigh; and both her feet are wrapped up in white clothe wraps with a pair of heavy black leather sandals over the wraps. Lastly, on her left bicep is a mesh padded armor armband.

Personality
She always seems to manage a serious disposition, and hold a stern, humorless expression on her face. While there is a unique instance that does seem to rattle her (which has earned her a bit of teasing by a few of her peers so long as she is not present), outside of it she tends to be unshakable and at ease.
The duties she is assigned she never procrastinates on and follows orders to the letter never appearing to waver from them. Typically reserved and quiet, she is an antisocial person, more out of being guarded than anything; which tends to lead her to do lonesome marathon training sessions to extensive and obsessive degrees. When asked if it is to perfect her technique she generally scoffs at the inquiry as though it were the dumbest question she had ever heard.
Random facts: Secretly she collects beanie babies which are littered about her quarters (which she has allowed no one to ever enter), is also the current running "#1 High Score" holder of one of Karakura arcades' DDRs under the initials "PWN", and thinks spiders, scorpions, and snakes are "cute".
History
Born within the Soul Society, her family of the Sasaki clan have a humble yet long history with the Gotei 13, typically working outside of it. Quite a few of her clan had been in the Kidou Corps, it was a tradition of her clan, especially within her family. Starting from a young age she was taught and training in the concepts and art of the Kidou techniques before being placed into the academy by her family. It was not necessarily her decision, but nor did she resist it. Doing so was more viewed as simply being apart of the Sasaki clan, and was thus her duty to serve the Soul Society and Gotei 13. Whether she liked it or not was immaterial, and she did not seem to think one way or the other about it, because again - she viewed it as her duty and thus there was no questioning it, only compliance.
Within the academy she was viewed as being antisocial and distant by the other students, and that assumption would not be out of line. Because she was doing this out of both tradition and duty, she took studying at the academy more seriously than most other students. Her honor was on the line and so was her clans through her, it was a mark of service for something greater than herself. So, entanglements with other students she tended to brush off and ignore, it was viewed as excess to her, and a frivolous preoccupation that would distract her from the task at hand.
Within her Kidou classes she was easily the best student in the class, excelling where some of the other talented students struggled with form and ability. Not that it was too surprising given her family's history with the Kidou Corps, it was somewhat expected she would have natural talent for it. Unquestionably she was a good student, her marks were impressive and nothing to be ashamed of in the least of ways. Even when it came to the more martial aspects, while certainly not the best student, she could hold her own against those who were within her class well enough.
It takes a sharp analytical mind and discerning eye to be proficient in Kidou, and that helped her much when analyzing the opponent in front of her to understand their strengths and weaknesses as they fought. Some of her opponents took exception to her being as deadpan during a fight as she is outside of one. Though what annoyed them more was her great speed, while she may not be able to overpower an enemy with martial prowess or physical strength, her incredible speed and agility combined with her great intellect for Kidou makes for a harsh combination.
All her hard work had paid off, though. Upon graduating with her extremely high marks in Kidou, she was easily accepted into the Kidou Corps fulfilling her family's and clans tradition. Though, she found herself restless there, despite her talent for Kidou - the constant study bored her severely. Regardless of her collected manner, she often craved for activity, energy is something she has in abundance, she often simply manages to keep it in check. But that does not mean simply doing what is essentially mind-numbing amounts of research does not cause her to stir inside craving for some excitement.
Although, when she heard through the grapevine from a few acquaintances back in the academy who were now unseated members of 2nd Division, that the Onmitsukido were recruiting - she did not waste much time in trying out. She had heard about them before, from a couple members of her own clan who had also abandoned the Kidou Corps to join their ranks, but only one actually made it in. From what she heard about it from those clan members in years past, it had always been something that intrigued greatly. Sayuri abandoned everything she had worked so hard for within the Kidou Corps, even her 7th Seated position, staking her entire career on making it into the Onmitsukido - risking her family's and clans honor for it, which meant more to her than even her own. It could be considered one of her first true major acts of selfishness.
The try-outs and training was severe and hard, nothing like the academy, relying heavily on stealth - these people were being trained to be assassins of the Soul Society. The concepts of the Onmitsukido she understood perfectly: self last - duty first. Assassination while viewed "evil" by the common "good", was immaterial in comparison to duty - sometimes sacrifices are needed to uphold something greater. Few passed and Sayuri strove as hard as she could to be one of those few, and accomplished just that, even being one of those fortunate to be graded with high marks. Stealth, stalking her target, and moving in for the elimination of her target, she learned it well. Though she is not the best Hakuda practitioner she proved herself proficient with it enough to earn herself a place within the Executive Militia branch of the Onmitsukido.
But it is there she saw and encountered what-- or rather, more precisely, whom would be the one to rattle Sayuri's seemingly unshakable composure every time without really doing anything. The Corps Commander of the Executive Militia branch of the Onmitsukido is the 2nd Division Captain herself, Soi Fon. The 2nd Division Captain is everything that Sayuri aspires to be herself, not in rank or position, but rather in skill, ability, confidence, and attitude. It cannot be disputed that Sayuri holds the Captain in very high regard. In one instance she was teased by one of her fellow Executive Militia members do to her having blushed once when Soi Fon looked over the line up of its members and her eyes eventually falling upon Sayuri as they did each member in the line; but Sayuri blushed all the same, and a few members noticed, though before they could tease her much further than they already had - a swift kick to the main antagonist's groin causing a severe rupture quashed any further teasing... or rather, at least while she was within earshot.
Through immense amounts of dedication and hard work while adding upon her penchant for doing marathon-like training sessions, she did manage to rise to some standing amongst the Executive Militia members. Though, now it was less out of Sayuri's sense of duty, and more out of a little something other - a compulsion? Maybe. But it was for that same exact reasoning she wound up further joining the 2nd Division of the Gotei 13, straddling both her duty within 2nd Division and a member of the Onmisukido's Executive Militia. It consumes much of her time but she does not really seem to much care or mind, taking it in stride - willingly, even happily when she dwells on it during a private moment.
Sayuri nevertheless continued to push herself harder, her peers who have gotten to know here some (for she has no one to really call 'friend'), express a level of concern and worry for her that she maybe pushing herself too hard and too far. Her family and those of her clan also have share the same sentiments to her out of their loving concern, but Sayuri always brushes it off and ignore the commentary doing as she wills. Pushing herself up the ladder of the 2nd Division gunning for seated positions, but while her sense of duty and honor played a significant role in doing so, it alsp looked as though she were attempting to be noticed at times, too.
Though on a purely superficial level it was not without its benefit, as with her overabundant amounts of training not only did she learn to release and control her Shikai well, but also learned to master it over the years. One of her peers asked if she had managed to learn how to perfect her technique, she scoffed at the idea of it, mocked it and harshly ridiculed the notion of it. For someone who craves activity like her, perfection means the loss of activity, there is nothing left to do because it is perfect, untouchable; but even that leads to a problem in its own right in her eyes, which is erosion, perfection leads to complacence and stagnation. In her eyes, the ideal of perfection is the ideal of regression.
The life she leads is one marked greatly by her sense of dedication to the path she has chosen to follow, though also with an unrequited hope of being noticed in a particular instance, which is something she privately holds close to herself.

Zanpakutō
--------------------
Name: No Name
Translation - N/A
Unreleased Appearance
The name of her Zanpakuto is Ren, precisely what the spirit of the blade calls herself. Sayuri keeps it entwined with her obi sash running along the lower back of her waist, so it is easy for her to reach back and immediately draw it in an inverted grip. It is a zatoichi variation of a wakizashi, thus possessing no visible tsuba (hand-guard plate) on the hilt. Both the hilt and scabbard are a glossy off-white ivory hue.
--------------------
Zanpakutō Spirit
--------------------
Name: Ren
Gender: Female
Spirit Appearance
The spirit calls herself, Ren, a fair skinned, dark-haired beauty with ice blue eyes, dark blue lips and two pair of curled pale bluish horns that fade to violet the tips - one pair curled upward and the other downward. She appears to be nude, but her body is never seen below the shoulders do to her remaining within the dark waters of the pond, so that is more assumption than known fact.
Personality
It is a strange thing this spirit of hers, all Sayuri knows about it really is that it is some kind of water spirit. It seldom ever speaks to her, but they are fairly well attuned to one another and communication between the two is generally not really ever needed. The spirit seems to rather convey her thoughts and desires to Sayuri through presence and feelings alone. An aura mystery seems to always be about the spirit, even to Sayuri herself, and the spirit seems to enjoy being an enigma to its own master.
Relationship to Master
Though the two are on good terms, neither seem to expend more than a few words with each other when they do speak to one another during the rare occasion Ren actually does speak. Though it could be do to the fact Ren's words are often too cold and ominous for Sayuri, causing the two to work together for each others benefit while having a distant relationship but with no hostility from either one of them. More a clear understanding that both need each other.
Inner World
The realm in which Sayuri sees her dwelling within is a blue lotus pond, but the world around the pond is pitch black nothingness... There is only the pond and blue lotus flowers while buzzing fireflies granting a minimal amount of light to the area; and Sayuri finding herself walking upon the water's surface as if it were stable ground. Sometimes in visions and dreams Sayuri does see her zanpakuto spirit with a serpent swimming in the waters.
--------------------
Zanpakutō Shikai
--------------------
Call Out Phrase: Sui Daija, bare your fangs.
Translation - N/A
Shikai Appearance
After she says those three words, her wakizashi transforms into a kursarigama ((Clicky in case not sure what it is)) with a glassy pearl white one and a half foot long shaft, and a shiny chrome-like jagged-edge razor sharp sickle blade. A chain seeming to be about six and a half feet long is attached to the opposite end of the blade; while at the other end of the chain is a dense five pound weight ball. Mysteriously, when Sayuri wields it, whirling and hurling the sickle blade at her foes the chain seems to keep extending in length, according to her, it can extend up to a little over five times its default length. It is also an elemental blade, but a deceptive one, for it looks like it utilizes a type of blue lightning electrical attack, but in fact it instead of electrocuting the victims it freezes them revealing it to actually be an ice elemental weapon.
Shikai Abilities
Sui Daija Kesshou (Water Serpent's Crystal)
- Description of Attack - The effects of this ability is much like a Kidou binding spell. Sayuri whirls the sickle for a few seconds, as does the blue lightning of the blade charges up, and then pulls the sickle back into her right hand pointing it at her target at which point it fires a blast of a lightning. Though it does not electrocute the target, but instead freezes them with large blocks of ice forming in various parts of their body holding them in place like a binding spell. The ice is breakable however for the more physically prone, or those with strong enough reiastu.
- Type - Ice
- Range - 20 meters
- Limitation - The ice is breakable for the more physically prone, or those with strong enough reiastu, and the "lightning bolt" is dodgable for those swift enough.
Chuubyuu Sui Daija (Coil of the Water Serpent)
- Description of Attack - This involves whirling about the weighted end of the kursarigama and lassoing the target, though with the unique ability of the Sui Daija to keep extending in length well beyond its default, it wraps around the targets torso or limb(s) (limbs in case she happens to catch both legs of a target). The blue lightning than shoots through the chain, but rather than electrocute the target, it instead burns the target but not with heat but ice, giving a sort of freezer burn effect slowing the targets movement greatly for a short time.
- Type - Ice
- Range - 20 meters
- Limitation - It is dodgable by those swift enough, and its effects can most definitely be resisted by those with strong enough reiastu.
Sui Daija Kougeki (Water Serpent's Strike)
- Description of Attack - More of a passive effect than actual attack. When Sayuri strikes at her opponent with the whirling, twirling sickle blade of Sui Daija, it slicing capability is immensely amplified seeming to be able to slice through near anything. Somewhat serving as a passive armor sundering strike in a way.
- Type - Ice
- Range - Melee
- Limitation - Not every armor can be pierced, naturally such as those of individuals stronger than herself. The effect also drains of her reiastu with each strike.
--------------------
Zanpakutō Bankai
--------------------
Name: Suikihakudaijaoniba Gangurabu
Translation - Water Spirit's Serpent Fang Prayer Glove
Bankai Appearance
it takes the form of an elaborately orgnate azure steel very light weight gauntlet on her right hand that goes up to her bicep wrapping around the white fingerless sleeve clothe gauntlet she already wears. Only two of the fingers of her zanpakuto's Bankai form are covered, which are the middle and ring fingers, and the light azure armor covering those two fingers essentially look like serpentine fangs though jointed so she can bend her fingers. Though the points of the fang-like azure hued finger armor are razor sharp.
Bankai Abilities
Sui Daija Soshaku (Water Serpent's Bite)
- Description of Attack - A natural passive effect with both points lacerate or stab into the target it causes a vicious burning effect, though not like fire - but like frost bite. Making the wound slightly more severe and harsh, and if struck deep enough into the victim the frost burning effect can even freeze up the area of the target's body that was struck causing their movements to be slowed down for a few seconds.
- Type - Ice
- Range - Hand to Hand
- Limitation - Each strike drains a little bit of her reiastu.
Za Sui Kihaku Gan (The Water Spirit's Prayers)
- Description of Attack - They are a two elemental Kidou-like spells that can be used individualistically for a simple attack or combined for a more amplified and powerful attack. For the combining of the two basic spells for the stronger effect, its effect changes pending what the primary spell is that Sayuri is combining with the other. The spells being:
Sui (Water, Basic) - Three two meter long ice spikes take form in the air, and with a wave of her hand sends them flying at her target to pierce into them. Although, it does not actually harm them, but instead works like a binding spell freezing the areas of their body in place, functioning much like Shitotsu Sasen Bakudo spell.
Kaze (Wind, Basic) - With a wave of her hand sends a powerful blast of wind sending her target and anything in the winds blast path away from her.
Gan Raikou (Prayer of Lightning, Kaze+Sui Combo) - This creates an earth-shattering mega blast of lightning either from Sayuri herself or having it rain down from the sky above the target. The lightning is almost blinding to the sight with its azure hues, and takes shape as a gargantuan column of an immense series of huge lightning bolts. To cast this she needs to focus herself and her reiastu much in the same manner as though she were casting a double incantation Kidou spell, but because it takes time to focus herself and her reiastu makes open to interruption.
Gan Hyousetsu (Prayer of Ice and Snow, Sui+Kaze Combo) - Because of her affinity to water and ice elements, this is actually her strongest attack, though casting wise it is done in the exact same manner as Gan Raikou. The wind turns cold, freezing even as it swirls around like a tornado with ice particles and snow mixed in with the high winds before condensing and exploding upon her target. Ironically, despite this being her strongest attack, it causes no damage to the target. What it does do is encase them in a massive block of ice at the strength of a double incantation Level 90 binding spell holding them in place so long as she has the reiastu and focus to maintain it.- Type -
Sui = Water
Kaze = Wind
Gan Raikou = Lightning
Gan Hyousetsu = Ice- Range - 30 meters
- Limitation - Like Kidou spells themselves, they drain reiryoku. While Sui and Kaze costs her little, Gan Raikou and Gan Hyosetsu if cast more than a couple times will tax her immensely.

Her time spent in 2nd Division had been good for her, especially her time spent in the direct service of the woman she admired most above all -- a role-model in which she strove and still strives to emulate. But a time came where she realized it was time to move from simply following in her idol's shadow as she walked her own path. Sayuri had to learn that she has her own path to walk, she cannot rely on anothers to enhance herself. She is not her idol after all, she will never be her and she should not try to be her.
When at long last after a few decades of reaching this realization, Sayuri parted with 2nd Division and Onmisukido entirely. Eliciting to isolate herself entirely from all in her time of soul searching, she left Seireitei in a sense going on pilgrimage. For the first time in her life after being a stern, stoic workaholic perfectionist, she chose to do a bit of soul searching to figure what it is she wishes to do with herself, find her own purpse and ambition.
Sitting upon a high cliffs edge beside a grand water fall pouring into a raging river below surrounded by lush green greenery and woodlands. Sayuri gently closed her eyes staring off into the darkness her closed eyes created. After a trice she reopened them to find herself sitting upon the surface of a pond, and Ren poking her head up out of its black waters staring back up at her. The spirit's world's serpent slithering within the waters around them. A hiss seemed to eminate from the spirit, not the serpent, though a smile was present on the spirit's -- but not a hostile or menacing one.
Sayuri smiled back at the spirit -- a somewhat unique thing as Sayuri seldom ever smiles, "I'm not sure where to go. What to do."
Ren drifted backward within the waters away from Sayuri as her cold, ice pale blue eyes remained fixed on her master. Like an implanted thought -- or maybe even a little like an instinctual sense, Sayuri simply knew what Ren was thinking without words for those thoughts needing to ever be expressed. They were just there.
Sayuri stared off for a moment in contemplation of what had been conveyed to her by Ren metaphysically, "You are right, Ren.", uttered Sayuri as she gently closed her eyes. Upon openning her eyes again there she was by the waterfall on the cliffs edge where she had remained sitting this entire time. Rising to her feet, she stood back up onto her feet, and walked onward.
