Kouseki Lamburth or as she preffered to be called Seki was currently standing outside the office of sixth squad captain Byakuya Kuchiki. She was here to apply for a position as a member of the sixth squad of the gotei 13. She was slightly nervous because Byakuya was a highly well regarded captain and it had been said that he was rather picky when it came to accepting people to join his squad. Usually, the applicant would simply send an application, but she felt that the personal touch would be more appropriate.
She took a deep breath and knocked on the door firmly three times and waited. She listened tentively awaiting a response. This was almost as nerve wracking as when she was awaiting the results of the academy test. Fortunately, she was able to keep calm due to her cool personality. She was confident in her skills in kidou, swordsmanship, shunpo and especially hakuda. There was no real reason for her to be denied.

((Sorry for taking so long to reply, been busy with a lot of things while having some major internet connection issues. )) The door to 6th Division Captain's quarters slid open, and there stood the regal man looking upon the girl before him with an ever calm, stoic gaze. His piercing dark blue eyed gaze looking at her for a long momentary stare - as if measuring her up during the silence, "Come.", her simply uttered with a strong, deep voice. With just that word he walked out of his office heading for the courtyard expecting the young woman to follow him as he lead them both to the intended destination. There in the courtyard, its ground covered in ornate grey stone brick, and the north and west ends lined by a grand grey stone walls, while the surrounding building of the 6th Division barracks spanned the south and east edges of the courtyard. Lining the walls were rows of sakura trees. The wind blowing through the courtyard as the Captain turned to the young Shinigami girl as his haori and uniform fluttered in the breeze, he asked her point blank in his deep, direct tone of voice, "What makes you worthy to join 6th Division?", not asking the hows or whys to join, those reasonings were seemingly plain to him - he was asking for the what constitutes this girl before him to join his ranks.

She had followed Byakuya-taichou without question and when he posed this question she was stunned for a moment. What made her worthy to join the sixth squad. She was not sure. She was strong in all of the shinigami arts, but what made her more worthy to join the sixth squad then another candidate.
"Other then what I known of the shinigami arts what makes me worthy to join your squad byakuya-taichou is that I do not let my emotions get in the way of my duties." she said quietly. "Also I do not lose my head in difficult situations and can deal with stress." She did not know what else to say.

Another strong gust blew through the courtyard carrying countless sakura pedals in its path. The pedals tumbled through the air and ground all around and between them as Byakuya listened to her reply - his disposition nor expression did not change - with that serene wooden expression of his it made it difficult to tell whether or not he approved of her answer or disapproved. Albeit, he was not turning her away, so perhaps he approved of the response.
There is one trend he has often seen amongst the latest recruits of his Division as well as others, and without telling of his point of view on it - he simply questioned the girl directly, "Are Captains and Vice-Captains the only command posts worthy to be respected?", and that his the trend he has noticed, often times the latest recruits dismissing the other Seated members and only paying heed to the Vice-Captains and Captains of the Divisions to curry favor. For a nobleman such as he it was imparative that he knows percisely her stance on the issue before joining his Division.

She stood there her braided ponytail blowing slightly in the wind as did her robes for a few moments before looking at him with her pale blue eyes and answering. She hoped her first answer was good enough.
"All shinigami deserve to have their opinions respected whether they rank higher or lower then myself." she said. "However, those that should be respected more are those that have positions of authority. This includes not only vice-captains and captains, but also the seated members, no matter how low their seat, though the higher rank they are the more respect they deserve." She hoped this would be a good enough answer. It was the truth or at least what she thought.

A long silent moment passed before letting out a seemingly nonchalant grunt, "Hmph.", and walked passed her heading back to his quarters, but as he walked he uttered with pausing in his steps nor looking back at the girl, "Gather your possessions and move into your quarters here in the barracks, Kouseki Lamburth."
With that the girl, Seki, was now officially apart of 6th Division, despite Byakuya's not outright saying it - she was truly accepted into the Division.

Kouseki was gobsmacked by such a response. She had hoped to be accepted, but she had expected it to be extremely tough. He had only asked two questions. She didn't even get annoyed at being called by her full name. She shook her head in disbelief before shunpoing back to her current abode to gather her small amount of possessions. She then shunpoed to the barracks to place her posessions there. She was a member of the sixth squad.
