Ranimaru had been waiting outside diligently when the doors suddenly crept open. Ranimaru had hoped it would be his captain so he could leave the desolate outer walls of the captain's meeting rooms. It had been too quiet even for Ranimaru's case. As the doors opened wider a familiar scent filled the air that Ranimaru had done all but forgotten about. It was the scent of blood from an opponent that aired around him like a gust of wind....... It was Karel.....
For those that did not know, there was always a bit of tension between Karel and Ranimaru. For they have shed blood against each other in battle back while both of them were still lieutenant class shinigami. It was a bloody training session on Karel's part in which Ranimaru intervened. Karel not liking this struck against Ranimaru with the intent to kill. In this case Ranimaru had no choice but to give the same. Despite some injuries, Ranimaru won almost flawlessly and indefinitely.
The end result being Karel's zanpakutou broken into pieces with only the handle intact. In the end only bitterness remained the outcome of their fight. It had seemed Karel took nothing from his defeat and didn't learn anything at all. However, despite their skill levels, it seemed Karel had been caught onto a great opportunity by chance being promoted to captain. To Ranimaru his power was no greater than his, only his rank.

*whispers*......Karel............no.......Captain Karel........
Ranimaru stared into the dark cold eyes of Karel as he walked down the steps with his haori flailing through the wind off his back. Ouja no Fuka cried out to Ranimaru from sensing a past opponent. But Ranimaru's will held back his zanpakutou's latent urges to fight. Fighting a captain was insubordination no matter the personal reason.
He would not rebuke his title as a shinigami for a past squabble. In an afterthought Ranimaru simply suggested to himself to sit back down and wait for his captain. He did such and only ignored Karel, at least for this moment in time. He still was ever-wary of Karel's movements which were still predictable even since back then.

Karel was bitter over his loss to Ranimaru in the past, and it took every fiber in his being to resist the temptation to cut him in two where he stood. He instead slowly passed by his old rival, trying not to make a scene. As he passed, Karel whispered to the shinigami "Do not beleive that just because I am captain that you are not worth my time, five days from now I will kill you, in the same place we had fought before." he hissed. Though this sounded like a death threat, it was just Karel's way of inviting an opponent to a duel. If he had the time, he would fight him now, but unfortunatly, he had paperwork to file. He reached the end of the hallway and opened the exit. Karel paused a moment to feel the tension in the air, the tension only created between two individuals who would like nothing more than to kill the other with their own hands. Without looking back, he shunpo'd out of veiw, back to his office.

Roiben grunted and turned away. Of course the noble is the only one who gets to speak. Oh well, at least he wasn't assigned to work with Captain Kuchiki. That would have pissed him off to no end.
"Alright Retsu..."
Roiben walked out of the meeting room with a grin, he knew it would piss her off how he addressed her. People in the gotei 13 these days focused too much on titles. Roiben could care less if his division called him captain or just Roiben.
Were was he going after the meeting? Pssh, it was Roiben. He was heading back to his room, he had a previosly enjoying nap to return to. The meeting was a waste anyway. When he hoped it was important, that wasn't what he had in mind.

Renji remain still and silent as Captain Unohana dimissed them and exited the room. Minutes later the other Captains had began to exit as well. So this is how a catpain's meeting ends huh? He asks himself. Shurgging and without looking at his former Captain or any other captains he made his way towards the door where he had just enter not too long ago and exits the room, however he took one last look in the room, still full of questions, such as what exactly happen during his absences. Ignoring the question he begins his long walk back to the 3rd division barracks.

Letting out a silent cheer at the Commanders dismissal, Hikaru briskly walked from the room, making sure to send Kuchiki a scathing glare before he left.
He made it out the doors before everyone else, and had just enough time to hear what Karel has said to the Lieutenant that was certainly not his sister.
Rolling his eyes dramatically, he stepped up to Ranimaru, scratching the back of his head.
"Man, that guy needs to loosen up. Got a bad case of the crazies...." he muttered, his blue eyes locked on the retreating form of the 13th division Captain.
He stayed silent for a few moments, his hand continuing to scratch his head, almost as if thinking about something.
Suddenly, he turned to Ranimaru.
"Hey, you're not my sister....Do you know where she is?" he asked innocently, as though it were perfectly normal for someone to speak like that.

Ranimaru simply nodded his head and smirked at the comment Karel had given him. It wouldn't be the first time someone had tried to threaten his life and it certainly wouldn't be the last. Ranimaru then turned his attention to the new captain that stood before him. Ranimaru still had not gotten used to the new captains of recent events so he was still sketchy as to remember the majority of the names. When the captain spoke to him, Ranimaru answered in a low yet clear tone, since it was his 1st encounter with this captain and he didn't wanna appear brash nor casual.

......yeah he's always had a chip on his shoulder ever since his defeat by my hands, Kensai Taichou has always been like that even back in his lieutenant days. I'm sorry I haven't introduced myself. My name is Ranimaru Touskei Vice-Captain of 6th squad. I believe we've never met before.
He looked upon the captain curiously waiting for a reply. From what he felt, Ranimaru could not discern the natural aura the man gave off. It was a neutral vibe that looked like it could sway like the tides. After staying silent for a few moments he quickly turned back on Ranimaru abruptly asking him a question. Ranimaru did not hear the entire question but it supposedly had something to do with the captain's sister. The way he asked caught Ranimaru off guard and actually baffled him a little bit. In kind Ranimaru only responded in a way that seemed natural to him.

Hikaru let out a sigh and scratched his mop of hair. He really hadn't seen much of Akane since after they had graduated. He could have sworn she was the Vice-Captain of the 6th....Or maybe it was the 2nd? He made a mental note to find out later.
After several minutes of silence, the Captain turned back to Ranimaru, a cheerful smile on his face.
"Well Ranimaru, I'm Hikaru Aurora, the best shinigami you'll ever meet!" he exclaimed loudly, exuding more arrogance and pride than a new Captain should have.
Then, leaning over, he spoke to Ranimaru in a conspiratorial whisper, his tone completely serious.
"You don't stand a chance against him right now. If you'd like, I'll train you." His deep blue eyes scanning the Vice-Captains face.

Ranimaru had noted the new captain and bowed his head in respect. Although Hikaru had given him an awkward feeling it wasn't hostile and with Ranimaru in the end it was alright with him. Though Hikaru had let off a lil bit of ego, Ranimaru couldn't really tell if it was truth or sarcasm. Ranimaru chuckled a bit but stood up and brushed himself off since he was put into a good mood. A small gust of wind blew from the east kncoking Ranimaru's hair into split directions his crimson bangs his most noteable feature atop his head were swaying in the wind.
In that moment Hikaru had seemingly leaned in telling him something he was almost truly aware of. In his mind he knew Karel had gotten stronger. Ranimaru had been to lax and lenient in the past. While the bloodlusting Karel used his urge to fight to drive him. It was a natural advantage in terms of personality. But Ranimaru always saw Karel as a beast that constantly needed to feed and Ranimaru was the only thing Karel himself couldn't devour. But with Karel's last statement it seemed even the beast can overcome some obstacles.
Then with the second part of Hikaru's message his eyes widened. to get stronger again would be a great accomplishment. Ranimaru's latent abilities were that of captain class. He was aware of this when he had taken an aptitude test in the re-formation of the gotei 13. but due to his lax effort his powers had recessed and remained lock once again. He was not sure if he could even release his bankai again more or less have it mastered. When Ranimaru was given this chance he relished the thought. Soon after he complied with Aurora-Taichou by holding out his hand in an agreeable gesture.

Hikaru grabbed it and shook it gratefully, a friendly grin spreading along his face.
"Okay, meet me on the training grounds in about an hour." he nodded, his eyes drifting up to the 1st Divisions doors.
Turning away from his new student, he ran up to Soi Fon as she exited the building, wrapping an arm around her shoulder.
"Now I know you're not my sister." came his rather lecherous statement, eyebrows waggling. However, all that earned him was a hard smack across his face, as the furious 2nd division Captain vanished in shunpo.
Shrugging, Hikaru took off in the opposite direction. He had some work to do before training.

Shunsui looked at the captains going out of the room and one of them saying by to the captain commander very inpolite, he did not even feel the need to make a comment about it and waited till all the people left the meeting room only to turn to unohana.
’’They are a weird bunch, who appointed these people?’’
In shunsui’s opinion they did not really seem fit for a captains job as all they were thinking about was fighting. He also had picked up the scents from the person waiting outside and the thread a captain has made against him.
