With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.
Two months of planning and some stupid gigai's. All it was was a waste of time. Still, he hadn't felt that great when she had left with a face that expressed true sorrow. Plus, he owed her for that massive barrel of sake that he had drank most of.
Kenpachi Zaraki did not like owing people.
So he stood, strangely uncomfortable in his gigai. Without the usual rags that he wore, Kenpachi didn't really feel like he was... in his body. Well, he wasn't, but that was besides the fact.
He now wore a hug leather jacket with a slight bit of fur on collar and buttons. Underneath there wasn't anything, and his chest scars could be seen like any other day in his regular haori.
He also had on a pair of baggy black pant and a set of army boots in matching color. Along his belt he wore a couple of low hanging chains that glinted in a silver fashion, the belt buckle itself bolding a huge skull.
The 11th squad captain stood with his usual hair style, bells and all, and an uneeded eyepatch over his right eye. Well, that wasn't quite true, he had tried to take off his eyepatch, but the gigai had almost exploded from the excessive reiastu.
Regardless, the eyepatch had to stay.
He was also weaponless, sadly, in the human world, weapons weren't really allowed. Not a concetp he could say he fully understood.
"Oy..." He called out, looking through the opened spirit gate behind him. "Come the hell out, ain't nothing going to kill you here."
"I'm coming, I'm coming, keep your eyepatch on," Aoide spoke sounding a little annoyed as she adjusted the strap to her high heeled sandals. She bounded out of the doorway, surprisingly graceful considering it was her first time being in a Gigai. She was dressed in a bright yellow tank top and a short pink skirt, her Vice Captain had called it a mini skirt. Aoide had liked the ruffles, the fluffed up and down when she jumped. It reminded her a little bit of her Shikai skirt but more airy. She wasn't sure if she matched these clothes too well, but ti had been fun to pick out a bunch of colors. She had made sure to wear matching shoes, which were bright yellow too. Multiple bracelets and necklaces hung from her body, as well as hung dangling earrings. Her hair was in its normal pigtails, though instead of black ribbons she had choosen pink, which looked nice in her brown hair. She had even tried make up! After a few attempts she had managed to do it right and she was really enjoying the pink lip stick, and eyeshadow.
She spun around, "So am I pretty, or at least fit in with the humans?" she asked her voice overflowing with excitement, her cheeks pink, and her eyes sparkling as she bounded up to Kenpachi, "Wow, the one chance you get to wear anything colorful, and you choose, black, black, and more black," Aoide spoke looking disappointed before pulling off one of her yellow bracelets and put it on Kenpachi's arm, "There now it matches your Reistu," she said sweetle before spinning around to face the town before them. She then took a step back, unsure what to do, "So what do we do now?" she asked sounding hesitant.
"So am I pretty, or at least fit in with the humans?"
He sighed and shook his head, pausing a moment before answering. "Sure." To which question, he didn't care to enlight her.
"Wow, the one chance you get to wear anything colorful, and you choose, black, black, and more black. There now it matches your Reistu."
He sighed inwardly, beginning to regret his decesion. When the braclet was clamped to his wrist, he eyed it as if it didn't belong there, which it didn't. Still, he made no real attempt to take it off. Afterall it wasn't about to kill him, it was simply an annoyance.
As she span about to eye the town, the tall captain took the time to spy out the town as well, searching for traces of reiastu. At this point in time he would jump at the chance of any fight.
But there was nothing, not even a slither of spiritual pressure.
"So what do we do now?"
Her tone had changed, and the man eyed her rather awkwardly, wasn't she the one with all the plans and schemes? The only pratically squealing about what she wanted to do the moment she got there?
And now, nothing.
Well, when he did a double-take, he finally noticed her nervousness, seeing that she was, in actuality, fairly intimidated. He grunted and jerked his head towards the town.
"Food first," He said simply, "by the looks of it, it's about late afternoon. Did Matsumoto happen to give ya any human money?"
He began to trudge down the trail, they were on a hill overlooking the town. Because of the nature of the spirit gate, humans could not see it; however, they would see two people appear out of nowhere. That's why opening a spirit gate within the town was strictly forbidden.
"Come on already." Kenpachi called over his shoulder for the second time within five minutes. "Town ain't gonna explore itself."
"Hai! she did, though she said to keep the money in my bra for some reason," Aoide patted her chest proudly at following her Vice Captain's advice. She bounded ahead of Kenpachi as they entered the bust streets of Karakura, it was Saturday night, a time when most students went out to have fun. Aoide could practically feel their excitement in her skin and their tiny human Reistu's at their peak. She easily moved through the crowd, figuring that Kenpachi could easily just throw everyone out of the way as she oooed and ahhed over the human things she saw. She pressed her face on the window of a bakery before she was shooed away with a broom from the store owner.
"Pachi-san, lets get that thing the human call pizza! They put meat and something call mayonaise on it!" Aoide begged running back to Kenpachi and attaching herself to his arm and dragging him to a tiny resturant.
"Hai! she did, though she said to keep the money in my bra for some reason."
Kenpachi resisted the urge to slap his forehead. The girl was going to get infected by that lazy excuse of a Vice-Captain. Yachiru probably did more work then Matsumoto.
He was about to correct her when she took off, fleeing into the crowded streets. Excited sounds filled his ears as people began to talk about... completely random things.
Like... where to go watch... 'House of the Flying Daggers.'
Who cared? It was all disgustingly fake anyways. Humans were creatures that he would never understand. However, the same went for some of the people in Soul Society. Namely civilians.
Catching a couple of people stare warily at him, he swiveled his left eye in their direction and bared his teeth ever so slightly, sending them running home.
Turning his attention back to Aoide, his found her when a store owner came out of his store brandishing a large broom. Growling ever slowly, he caught the broom with his forefinger and snapped it like a toothpick.
The store owner proceeded to wet his pants.
"Pachi-san, lets get that thing the human call pizza! They put meat and something call mayonaise on it!"
Sighing, he let himself be pulled along the street by the hyperactive shinigami. "Baka, you had best not be picking up Matsumoto's taste in food."
He almost shuddered at the thought of her scarfing down red bean paste with Matsumoto AND Inoue.
As they entered the shop, they were immediately given a group of stares from people who saw an incredibly mismatched pair. Resisting the urge to sigh, the tall man walked up to the counter and ordered a large pepperoni pizza.
"No, Pachi-an I hate bean paste, it's like chocolate's bastard third cousin," Aoide replied leaning against the counter before spinning around as they waited for their pizza. She kicked her feet back and forth as she stopped with her back to the counter. This was so exciting! she watched people walk back and forth in front. Everyone was so colorful in the human world, it wasn't at all what she remembered, well what she could remember. She grinned happily holding her face, and there were a lot of boy! No wonder Ikka-chan had a human girlfriend, humans were just vibrant!
The waiter dropped off the pizza between them, Aoide picked up the bottle of mayonaise and applied it to her pizza before taking a pizza. "This is so good!" she squealed before taking another bit, and another, and finally finishing her slice and reaching for another. She then looked thoughtful for a moment, "If Ikka-chan has a girlfriend that's human does that make her a necrophiliac?" she asked suddenly in between squeezing mayonaise on her second slice of pizza.
Kenpachi laughed and took his own slice, not bothering to squeeze his own mayonaise onto it. Shaking on some extra cheese shavings, the large man easily scarfered down a slice within about a minute.
"That's good." Kenpachi responded, albeit amused. "I don't think Soul Society is ready for more cooking like that. An--..."
He blinked. "Did you just say you hated chocolate?"
"This is so good! If Ikka-chan has a girlfriend that's human does that make her a necrophiliac?"
He almost choked on his slice. Eye widening ever so slightly in shock. That probably one of the oddest things he had heard all day, but then again it was funny. Funny to imagine Ikkaku going out with a girl that banged corpses.
Well no, it was pretty disgusting as well.
"... No." Kenpachi finally said, picking up another slice. "Necrophiliacs have an entirely... different attraction. Besides, the girl has no idea that Ikkaku is a soul reaper."
He fell silent and finished his slice, from the corner of his eye he could feel a group of school girls ogling him. However, he did his best to ignore them. Their incessant giggling was annoying though.
"No baka, I said that bean paste is like the retarded cousin of chocolate. I love chocolate, chocolate cake, chocolate pudding, chocolate chip cookies, in fact I have a really good recipe for chocolate chip cookies I should make for you sometimes," Aoide spoke listing off the different chocolate dishes she could think of. "Oh and hot chocolate with marshmallows in it, that's really good too. I swear if I was human I'd try to go to school to be a cook! There's just so many good things to eat here!"
She kicked her feet back and forth some more in excitement, before glancing at Kenpachi and noticing that he was eyeing some girl nearby, a few of the girls giggled. Aoide grinned wickedly and nudged Kenpachi, "You know the one on the end is really cute," she spoke to him before standing up in her seat and waving, "HI! I'M AOIDE AND THIS IS KENPACHI ZARAKI!" she yelled to them grinning friendly, "Do you want some pizza!" she asked not noticing that the girls were staring at her with timid eyes, obviously not used to someone being so bold.
He laughed and shook his head with amusement, bells ringing gently at the slight head movement. It was like the human world had made her ditzy. They hadn't even seen much and she was all over the place.
But, for someone who had never been to the real world, he couldn't really blame her.
When was the first time the man himself had gone to the real world? He couldn't recall but he was pretty sure that it was on a mission. It was due to that that he didn't really feel like he could ever enjoy it. The human world was more of a place for business and destroying over-encroaching arrancar.
He enjoyed fighting, but he hadn't had the chance to relax. "You know the one on the end is really cute."
"Che." He scoffed, raising an eyebrow at Aoide. "And about a couple decades too young."
Still, she just had to go and introduce herself to them. He sighed, people like her needed to take a class on human mannerisms. Still, it wasn't all that different from Soul Society. It just wasn't based on how well you fought, just by how easily you could manipulate and step on others.
One of the girls, obviously the ringleader of the group, wandered over to their table.
"Hi." She giggled, batting her eyelashes, the group of girls behind them were having fits of their own giggles. "Are you two... like, together?"
"Che yourself, they're still cute, oh! maybe you can take one on a date. Maybe go to a, um, I think they're called a moovee," she said excitedly, obviously more excited about arranging a date for Kenpachi then he was. Aoide sat down in her chair as one of the girls came over to the table. She looked a lot younger then Aoide expected and was wearing a lot of make up.
"Are you two... like, together?" the girl asked batting her eyelashes.
Aoide blinked a few times, of course her and Kenpachi were together, they had come to the human world together and were hanging out together, was this girl stupid or something? "Hai, yes!" Aoide said grinning, "Pachi-san and I go together to lots of places, like to the bars, training areas, BBQs, and now we're in the hu-town!" Aoide said quickly changing what she was saying about the human world. Right, she had to blend in, what would a human do?
"Tch, you can do better," the girl said to Kenpachi and winked.
"Do better then what?" Aoide asked looking confused. Were there better pizza resturants? Figures, Aoide always missed out on all of the good things. She pouted a little and looked at Kenpachi with a ,'why,' questioning look.
