Well first off I would like to extend a greeting to all of the members and staff, for those of you that are currently "active". I realise that I've only recently joined this Role Playing forum, but I can assure you, I've had my fair share and taste of being involved in one. While my opinion may not mean much, after some reading, I feel I should say a few things.
Please forgive me if I misconstrue any facts or thoughts that have been posted on the previous pages. Although I did read, I may have confused one thing for another being that I have never been apart of CoL before.
Vampires - I was not here in the previous edition of CoL and was not privy to
the success or failure of this race, but I suppose I can say this much at least. While some may feel that the cliché Shinigami Vs. Arrancar rivalry is not "spicy" enough to hold interest, I don't believe we should be forgetting the purpose of this Role Play. If I'm not mistaken, this is a Role Play Forum based off of Bleach. Therefore I also believe it should pertain to the said guidelines, by that I mean "sticking to the story". I am fully aware that the Bleach story has not been finished, but I'm also sure that Tite Kubo did not intend to place any "Vampires" into the plot, so far as Bountu. Correct me if you've heard otherwise. In any case, there are numerous ways that the already broad cast of races may be enriched to bring more excitement to the Role Play.
Rules - As far as I'm concerned, rules are rules. Regardless of how lengthy or short they may be, they still must be followed. If a particular member finds it too difficult to read a simple set of rules because there might be too many, then that is a risk they obviously are willing to take. Rules aren't meant to be broken, so when they are, no mercy should be shed for those incapable of understanding them.
Power tier - From what I've read, this problem seems to be solved. The current tier seems to be perfectly fine, well as perfect as it is going to get at this point. If it was previously based on post count, it is a blessing that it was changed. Never should any type of ranking or level change in a Role Play be based on post count, that would be a disaster in terms of how many unwanted and useless posts would be made. Not to mention how many non-experienced role players would be given power they cannot role play properly with.
Site Plot - This in itself is very tricky. A good plot would definitely heighten interest and activity, but a bad plot would otherwise discourage newer players from joining. At least for me it would. I rather enjoy having a good plot to follow, it allows me to adapt my character to the setting and possible events to come. Character progression, I think, certainly begins at the plot.
Crossovers - This is something I, personally, can't stand seeing. Unless of course you are using a canon character. Otherwise, it just shows your lack of creativity. I applaud those who take and spend the time developing their characters. It is not difficult to be creative. It may take time, but it is certainly worth it when you finally realise that the character you've created is all your own. I can stand seeing similar names, I can stand seeing similar appearances, even personality if that's what you so desire, but abilities. That is something that should be your own. Taking ideas from other areas is fine, but simply copying and pasting a unique move or special ability of another character is certainly something that shouldn't be tolerated. It's as if saying Edward Elric can by some miracle use Getsuga Tensho. Well that is my thought on this anyway.
One final note. I've read through some people's posts that the "previous" CoL experienced a set back due to personal problems and the like. First and foremost, it is important that everyone realise where we are. Yes. That's right. This is the Internet. I know there are plenty of arguments to backlash this statement, but I find it helps to remember it. Many people are often caught up on events that occur online and cause it to interfere with more important matters, for instance Life. Now I do not know if that is true, that the previous CoL fell due to personal hinderances, but it's best to keep the really personal things away from places such as this. It certainly takes the fun out of everything.
I hope that wasn't too much of a read, and again, if any thoughts or opinions are misplaced, I'm sorry. I did not have access to the full details, so I just went off of what was already posted. Correct me if I'm wrong, and feel free to express needed opinions.
