Name: Mane Shi [copycat]
Age: 106
Gender: Male
Personality:
Skill Level: Swordsmanship: Advanced
Skill Level: Shunpou: Beginner
Skill Level: Hand-to-hand: Advanced
History/Background:
Age: 106
Gender: Male
Personality:
He doesn't like the everyday duties he's assigned (patrolling, paperwork, and occasionally defending Soul Society from the occasional hollow) and as a result he's almost always bored. Because of the boredom, he next to never smiles. His first and foremost interest is learning about others. He will, as a result, copy that person's motions in order to learn about them. When he's spoken directly to, he will mimick not only what is said, but how it is said, down to the very voice (he will make his voice sound like the target's).Appearance:
He values suborbination, and as a result, will try not to argue with someone who he knows is an actual superior. If he doesn't know that they are above him, he'll argue with that person until he wins.
Speaking of arguements, he does not like being told that he needs to stop his mimicking. It is his single most irritating source of fury, and as a direct result, he puts people down for lecturing him on it. Not only that, but he's very loud, obnxious, and rude when he's on a roll.
His single most pleasing source of pride is when he goes out of his way to guess a part of someone's personality that normally isnt advertised (a secret color, a secret stuffed animal, a secret crush) and the target acts like their right. If its revealed that he was wrong, then regardless of what the target said before then, Mane Shi will go out of his way to attempt to rediscover the truth with renewed vigor. This can sometimes be a source of irritation for other people.
He likes cantnip-flavored-tea. He personally grows catnip, and will attack whoever stands in between him and his gardening.
He looks like a catboy, although he's a human. He has neck-long gray hair, gray cat eyes (he wears contacts), a slim face, a thin body, pale skin, 5' 10 in height, 150 lbs. in weight, a 5-foot-long tail (its a belt he channels his spiritual pressure in; it goes limp in battles), cat paws (gloves), and sharp teeth (specially grown). He wears a fleece hoodie and denim jeans, although this is probably sue to his life as a human. He never smiles, so no one knows what he looks like with one.Zanpakuto Spirit:
Sealed Zanpakuto:
Akuma Koneko
Demon Kitten
Koneko is an actual cat. Her gray fur, horns, and wings reflect Mane Shi's hair and eyes. Her right eye is an actual ruby, while her left eye is the exact same as Mane Shi's eye--gray cat eye. Her tail and wings are 2 feet long. Her orns are 6 inches each. Her claws, when extended full length, are half an inch each. This form reflects her sealed form. Her personality is EXACTLY like Mane Shi's, although her size as a cat is something else--she stands at a total of 2 yards tall, or 6 feet. Slightly taller than a tiger, her strength is actually equal to a tiger's because of her thin limbs. She looks like she has thick limbs due to thick fur.
Her human form is equally similar to her wielders, in the difference that she wields an A-cup chest, waist-long hair, a thin grey halter top, and a denim skirt. Despite this, she only enters human form if she leaves the inner world. She only did this once--when she first encountered Mane Shi.
As for her relationship with Mane Shi, they usually get along, and never find a reason to bicker. They never copy one another, since both consider it literally impossible. Sometimes, however, Koneko will advise Mane Shi on how to become stronger, and Mane Shi takes this into account more seriously than if someone outside of his inner world said anything (he places Koneko's advice above that of Kyra's; usually a moot point). They have only had one disagreement, and thats on the advantages and disadvantages of being a guy or girl.
Koneko's world is a mansion. There is at least one mirror in every room, but it does not reflect your physical self--it reflects your emtions. For example, if a person who hides behind smiles looks into it, s/he will see themself crying in despair, if thats what they really feel about something.
Shikai Description:
Koneko's sealed form is that of a hand mace. Its handle is 6 inches, its shaft is a foot long, and its spiked ball is another 6 inches long in diameter, for a total of two feet in length. The spikes are half an inch tall per spike. The handle is wrapped in leather, and at the the end of it, is a chart of a cat's head. This charm is the size of a thumb nail. The entire weapon is made of steel. On the shaft are the words
"Do not forget who you are."
Shikai Abilities:
Copy what you see, Koneko.
A scorpion-based hand claw. Despite its looks, its next to never seen. Mane Shi has only revealed this once, and that was against a Bakkoto wielder (the bakkoto could negate the power of zanpakuto). The weapon itself is pure physical.
Akuma no KuchimaneBankai Description:
Demon Mimicry: The enemy is copied. More specifically, it's true power is to copy zanpakuto, down to any marks made by wielders or enemies of the past (i.e. Kenpachi's sword has a lot of marks from when his opponents had pockmarked his blade in the past). If the enemy fixes their blade at another point, and challenges Mane Shi, then Konoko will reflect those changes. The copy is made of the way the zanpakuto is NOW, not at any point in time.
This ability goes deeper than physical prowess. Any and all SHIKAI abilities are copied, no exceptions. Bankai powers aren't copied. If the enemy goes into Bankai, Mane Shi can still use all shikai powers, but only shikai powers. If a zanpakuto affects another zanpakuto, then whoever uses that particular power FIRST wins over the other. If a zanpakuto works by touch (Kira's Wabiske) both are affected at the same time. It IS possible for both zanpakuto to negate each other, but the circumstances vary on what powers come into play.

History/Background:
Whenever a soul enters the Spirit world by soul burial, for a short while, they DO remember their previous life. It was not like this for Mane Shi. He did not remember anything, and as such, sat in the middle of Rukongai for a good solid day. A noble, seeing this, questioned him. After noting his memory loss, the noble took him in, and taught him about the area. He received his name after his outfit, and after doing EVEYTHING he was taught right down to the habits of his teachers. It looked literally like he was copying them, and since he was wearing a cat's outfit, he received the name Copy Cat--Mane Shi.RP Sample:
On what became his 100th birthday (he being born on the day he came to soul society) he joined the Soul Academy. Not used to someone constantly copying them, the students were alienated by his prescence, as he constantly copied whoever spoke to him directly. Not only that, he copied their speech--what they said, how they said it, how fast they said it. When class was in session, he copied the teacher, right down to his speed of writing. This became a special problem in combat sparring--he copied his enemies, never roducing his own fighting style. Even the teachers felt a need to interfere. They were never able to successfully dissuade this behavior. If anything, they encouraged it (albeit accidentally). It did win Mane Shi many successes, but it didn't change how annoying it was. This copy-copy power was put to the test when a series of hollows broke through into Soul Society, right at the academy.
Theories flung like cannonballs and ceroes about how they got there, but it was a decent challenge that injured many. The entire first-year class was annihiliated, and the entire 4th squad was called in. The 6th years saw it as a punch to their pride, and as such, instead of captains or Lieutenants being called in, they all wiped out the arrancar as if he were a normal hollow. Mane Shi ironically lead the attack, distracting him while the others pelted hi with Kido. The teachers had taken on defending the rest of the students. Mane Shi and his class graduated later that week, with full honors. Mane Shi, on the other hand, was promised a seated position...
Mane Shi sat in his office, ready to do some paperwork. Deliora had other ideas.
"Oye, Neko-baka. You haven't been patrolling." Deliora was Mane Shi's immediate supervisor at that time, and as such, was responsible when the order of Soul Society was disrupted because of HIS charge. Mane shi sighed.
"The paper-pushers are furious. The 11th squad damage reports have subsequentially doubled in size after that menos took its toll. I DO NOT HAVE THE TIME TO PATROL!" Yes, Mane Shi was furious. He had gotten reprimanded for his copy-cat nature again, and was in no mood to deal with anything but quiet. He immediately began writing. The 11th squad destroyed another warehouse. They erradicated the 6th squad barracks. They levelled the entire Shihouin mansion. The reports kept stacking after the thirty-odd menos had come into play.
"You dare to talk back to your---!!!"
One look from Mane Shi, one never seen before, halted further discussion. A sentry from the 2nd squad only aggravated the situation, seeing as how reports of a gargantua was opening at one of the gates.
"Yare Yare, go do me a favor, and send this report to the Captain Commander. I have too much paperwork!" The 10th seat supervisor left, quite furious over the insuborbination. Mane Shi sat back, and considered the situation. This was the worst attack yet, targetted at the weakest points in Soul Society. The war was brewing, and as a result, if it didn't mean more combat, it meant more preparations. Preparations costed money. Expenses led to more paper-pushers. If Mane Shi wasn't called in to fight, he WOULD be called in to write. And write he would, as his mimickry lost a good deal of points from the nobles.
What was Gin planning? What would it lead to? These thoughts clouded Mane's mind. The total combined combat force of the Captains was too much for even Gin to handle, that was nothing to worry about. What WAS worth worrying about was paperwork. Mane Shi did not want to get locked into an office for the rest of his afterlife, bloodying his hand over report after report after bloody report. For the first time in his life, he was angry. Not irritated, like he got after a small lecture over his mimickry, no--his very life was being threatened by paperwork. The nobles who had close ties to the Spirit King made the decision that paperwork was more important than mimickry, and lectured Mane Shi over the consequences of his mimickry. In other words, Mane Shi either cuts it out, or he'll be arrested for some fake crime or another.
"Mane Shi-sama! Tax Reports!"
Mane Shi passed out, due to stress.
