With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.
"Tch," Xuan sighed, bringing the hilt of his whip above his head to stop the strike from making full contact. Shinigami. Always so quick to assault. Then again, Xuan had asked for it. Xuan had this little habit of underestimating people, or, rather, refusing to overestimate them or the like.
The green-eyed arrancar rolled his eyes, and, with a flash of sonido, he left before the blow could cause his arm to give in. He dodged just a few feet behind where he was standing, and he lashed out his whip to stretch out the chains. He heard a pleasant jingle as the chains rang against the roof of a building.
That was a noise that Xuan missed.
"Don't believe that you'll win this one," Xuan taunted, "Shinigami." He grinned, revealing those pointed fangs as he brought his arm back and flung the whip towards the shinigami. If he tried to block, there was a good chance that his sword or arm might get caught in the lash of sharpened chain.

Yumichika grinned as the arrancar blocked his strike with his own sword. Guess he wasn't as incompetent as he looked. They locked strikes for a brief moment before the arrancar sonidoed away. The shinigami jumped back too, skidding in the air as he turned to face the arrancar. There was the briefest of moments before it was the arrancar's turn to attack with a chain.
Yumichika let out an obvious scowl. A chain? Really? How disgusting. Then again, if wielded beautifully, it could have redeeming qualities. But considering the chain's wielder, that was very unlikely.
The arrancar flung the chain at him, grinning in that terribly unflattering way (being proud of your good oral hygeine was important, but this was taking it too far). Yumichika double side-stepped, enough to dodge the chain, but still managed to make a cut on his sleeve. He remained wary of where the chain was going, but turned to the arrancar and said, "And I suppose you do," he snapped back, "am I right, Arrancar?"
Ha! What a foolish thought. To think that he would actually lose to such a hideous opponent? If he were to lose, then let it be with someone equal to his own beauty!
His strike missing, mostly, Xuan frowned. Still, there were more than one ways to harm an opponent. He, without putting much thought into it, like he usually did, simply opened his mouth, gathering reishi within his open mouth. The particles formed a small ball within his mouth, purple, mixing with venom.
That venom could have quite some nasty stings to it, should the attack strike.
"Picadura," he murmured, the ball flying forward and separating into several needles which simply flew out towards the shinigami as they did so. The five purple needles each were laced with their own special venom, each ready to cause some major stinging effects.
As if that wasn't enough for Xuan, he drew his whip back, flinging it forward once more before the needles could finish their path towards the shinigami. The cracking of a whip was absent, but the rattle of chains was everpresent.
Xuan was always ready for a good fight, like most hollows were. His grin widened as his whip hurled through the air.

Yumichika watched as the arrancar formed a ball of reiatsu in his mouth. A Cero? No, it was much weaker, and had a different feel to it. It wasn't a bala, either.
When he saw that the ball split into five needles, He used shunpo to dodge three, hit one away with his sword, but the fifth one managed to graze his left foot. A sudden stinging feeling errupted, but as a seasoned Shinigami, he only looked at it breifly before jumping away from the chain as it was flung towards him.
He skidded again, one one foot, as he shook his left foot slightly, feeling the sting in his foot. It wasn't too bad, but he would very much like for it to go away. Now. "Poison stinging needles," he remarked, "Annoying little things."
He paused for a moment before shunpoing behind the arrancar and threw his foot up at his head in a roundhouse kick. He twisted his body and flipped his sword so that he held it inversely and swung at his back as he made a full, 360 degree turn.
Yumichika couldn't help but grin. It was certainly going to be a beautiful fight.
The arrancar felt the kick rattle his jaw as it connected with his jaw, but he wasn't going to let the shinigami get two hits in a row. In fact, he felt that confinscating his weapon was a much better idea. So, instead, he lifted his whip and attempted to coil the chain around the blade of the shinigami. What could the shinigami possibly do if his weapon was caught?
Nothing. That's what Xuan was counting on. So he lifted his weapon and gave a rough jerk on it, the clanking of metallic chains rattling--music to Xuan's ears.
Turning his head back to the shinigami, Xuan grinned another toothy smile. He wasn't smiling because the fight was fun though. He was imagining all sorts of things he could do to the 'corpse' of a being before him. Maybe he wasn't a corpse just yet, but he would be in due time. The way Xuan saw it, the second Xuan decided to use his resureccion, the shinigami was a corpse.

When his sword was caught in the chain, Yumichika frowned. He glanced up and saw another disgusting smile on the arrancar's face, and grimaced. It really was a terrible expression. He should do something about that. But what could he possibly do when his sword was trapped?
He paused and remembered something. He had seen Hisagi use kido in conjunction with his zanpakuto before...what was it again? Dammit, it was on the tip of his tongue too...
"Hado 11, Tsuzuri Raiden," he said as he felt a current of electricity surge through his sword. It wasn't the strongest current (chants were so long and unflattering), but it should be enough for a little jolt. And, if he remembered correctly, metal was an excellent conductor of electricity. And since his sword (made of metal) was wrapped in the chain (which was also metal)...
Yumichika couldn't help but smirk. Him, use Kido? Kido was forbidden in the 11th Division, not to mention that he wasn't the greatest practicioner. But as long as there weren't any other members around, then why not?
The jolt was felt by Xuan, though he knew better than to drop his whip. The man growled, waving his arm to draw the chain back to himself before vanishing in a quick sonido. He stared at the shinigami, stiffling a laugh. "Oh how pathetic that was!"
The intellectual numeros grinned as he lifted his whip, taking a peak at the chain, sharp, meant to leave a sting when it struck the foe. This one seemed not to care. Xuan would show him what an arrancar could truly do, in that case. He lashed his whip forward, grinning. He then withdrew his whip, coiling it around himself.
"Escorpión, picadura!"
This would show the shinigami why he should despair. that's what Xuan thought. The chains began to dissolve, piece by piece, and then, finally, the hilt shattered, a flare of purple reiatsu rising around Xuan as he began his transformation: an extra set of arms grew, a long tail, three yards in length composed of nine segments. The arrancar began to trin as his mask fragment shifted, becoming more complete, the tattoos forming around his eyes.
"Any last words?"

Yumichika hopped back as soon as the arrancar retracted his whip. He heard his comment and would usually retort with something else, but he knew that in this fight, he had to be focused and concentrated. He wouldn't let something so ugly defeat him, or get under his skin. All he had to think about was how exceptionally gorgeous he looked compared to him, and whatever came out of his mouth was irrelavent.
Well, except when the arrancar released his zanpakuto.
"Releasing already?" the fifth seat asked, "What's wrong, am I too much for you?" Probably not true, but whatever.
Still, now that the arrancar released, he would have a significant boost in power, not unlike the ones he had fought with in the past. Holding his sword horizontally with his free hand near the tang, Yumichika grinned at the arrancar. "Final words? How about...Bloom, Fuji Kujaku," and with that, the straight blade turned into something that looked like a curved falx
He purposely skipped over flicking the sword to reveal the other three blades, but that little trick was for later. And besides, his sword had another trick up its sleeve that no one knew about. God willing, this arrancar wouldn't have to either.
"Tch," scoffed Xuan. Collecting energy in his tail, slowly he began to produce poison. It would take a short while to produce enough to use, but when he did, things should get... ironic.
He, of course, didn't want to give away that he was doing something just yet. Instead of waiting for hours on end, Xuan sprung forward and reached forward with his pincers. Opening them to the best of his ability, he aimed to catch the shinigami's arm.
As he did this, his walk was less like a spring and more like a fluid scuttle. This form was so much easier to move around in, in his oppinion.

When the arrancar finished transforming into his Ressureccion, Yumichika's eyes widened, not from fear or surprise, but from disgust. "Oh! For the love of...goodness! Put that hideous thing away!" he said, turning his head and grimacing. Of all the hideous things that tainted his beautiful eyes, this had to be one of the worst.
Not the worst though. Cuulhourne takes the cake. But one of the worst. And it was scorpion-themed too, another disgusting little creature.
When he/it sprang forward (or...did a weird pseudo-crabwalk) with those...what were they, pincers? Claws? Whatever they were, he knew that its purpose was to catch him, and possibly break a few bones. Well, not if Yumichika could help it. As the pincer closed around his waist, he jumped up, barely slipping through, and brought the (currently) single blade of his zanpakuto down with tremendous force.
