With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.
It has been nearly a week, a week of healing, and it was long. She had seen her sister for the first time in all these years, and she didn't even recognize her. It was shameful that neither of them realized who the other was until the last moment, and even then she couldn't get her revenge.
What is the point of getting revenge if Kaki didn't know why? Hotaru thought this has she shunpoed up the mountain. She had deduced that this is where Kaki had been hiding for all this time. She remembered her mentioning living high, where thunderstorms could be dangerous. Her short black hair blew backward has she made it up the mountain.
She stopped when she reached the top, seeing a large rocky clearing. It appeared that a fight had broken out up here, broken boulders, and crumbled cliffs. Her crimson eyes searched the area for any clues of where Kaki was. She squatted to the ground examining for foot prints, or any signs of her. She noticed something was off about a nearby cliff, so rising up she walked over to it.
She peered over the cliff, noticing a ledge with a small cave in it, and jumped down to investigate. The cave was indeed small, probably only a child or animal could fit in it. It was the perfect spot for Kaki to hide away in and peering inside she could see evidence for someone living here. She decided to wait here for the time being, and see if whomever lives here will return.
The week had been spent healing, lying in the cave hopelessly, and contemplating. Kaki knew that she was going to let Hotaru kill her. She knew. She had, however, needed to go out to stretch her legs. She returned from a long hike down the mountain, only to find Hotaru waiting outside of her cave.
She didn't want to fight with Hotaru, so, immediately, she dropped her sword on the ground beside her and called out to her sister. "Hotaru!"
She looked at her sister, she smiled quietly and she looked away again. "Just, give me a moment, Hotaru. I want to talk to you."
She already knew that Hotaru would be mad at her, possibly even enough to want to kill her right there on the spot. Kaki, however, wanted to know this person more. She smiled and she looked at the elder.

Hotaru almost didn't feel Kaki's presence when she approached her cave. When she heard Kaki call out her name, she turned her head to see the her half sister. She's smiling, what does she have to be smiling about? She thought to herself seeing Kaki drop her sword, this caused more confusion and anger.
However the proposal to talk was just inferiority. "What the hell could you possibly say to me?" She asked, her anger rising with every second she looked at Kaki. That smile caused most of it, her sweet little smile bringing back memories of long ago. Shaking them out of her head and narrowed her vision of Kaki.
"NOT LIKE IT WOULD BRING HIM BACK!" She yelled at Kaki, referring to her father the one true reason behind this act of vengeance. Her right fist was shaking and knuckles white. She was just so full of hate, it was hard not to just unsheathe her sword and kill Kaki right now.
Kaki frowned again, and she shook her head. She was going to let Hotaru have her way eventually, but, for some reason, this ate away at her. What did Hotaru know of her? What did she know of Hotaru? Nothing. She looked at Hotaru, and she frowned. "Onee-san... I know I can't bring them back. I can't bring my mother back; I can't bring your father back. I'm not going to try to convince you not to kill me. But it has to wait for just another minute."
Kaki frowned. "Do you think I would actually kill my own parents intentionally? Give me a moment. Just a few minutes. I need to say a few things to you."
"I know you're mad. Hell, I'd be too. Onee-san," Kaki mumbled, "You don't have to say yes, but I'm going to tell you anyway."

Hotaru was angry, she wanted to pull her sword out and plunge it in Kaki's heart. She wanted to do bad, her hand was already on her zanpakuto's hilt. She was holding it so tightly, her knuckles white, and her face full of conflict. She closed her eyes, thinking of what to do, whether to attack now or let the witch speak.
"Fine!" She said releasing her grip on her zanpakuto, her closed eyes opened from the her thought process. Her eye's stared at Kaki, piercing Kaki's with the hate.
"I'll give you your last words." She said crossing her arms waiting to hear what Kaki could possibly say at a time like this. It's not like she would forgive her, not after what she did. She did keep her guard up, thinking this could just be a ploy to put Hotaru off.
"Arigatou," sighed Kaki. She knew she would let Hotaru have her revenge. She wasn't going to make her wait for much longer--not at all. But this still ate away at her.
"I'm sorry. All I can say is that I'm sorry. Believe me; I've regretted this since the moment I knew it happened. Th-the truth is that... I'm... I was born like... like this." She pulled her hand up to her face, drawing her mask from out of the blue. Her eyes seemed to be encompassed in shadows while the rest of her mask was purely white; seven long spikes shooting up from her forehead. "I... I couldn't control it at all back then. I'm sorry for that, Hotaru. She took over... and..."
She waved her mask away, looking her sister in the eyes, searching for sympathy. She was doubtful of finding any--that was what she was expecting.
"Look, you don't have to forgive me. But I don't know anything about you, and you don't know much about me. I just... I sort of wanted to know who my sister is," Kaki mumbled. "Even if you're my half-sister."

She listened carefully, seeing as these will be the last words Kaki will ever say. See almost scoffed at her repeating herself, it was so embarrassing. This was short lived when Kaki did something unexpected, something almost as shameful as Kaki escaping her blade.
A mask? She thought as she watched Kaki give her excuse. She blamed the Hollow that resides within her, so shameful. Her eyes could tell how she felt at this moment, shear hate. "That's your excuse?" A rhetorical question that started to build her rage.
"You're telling me because you were born a freak," Her eyes narrowed, her hand on her zanpakuto, and she charged Kaki. Her face red with hate, her vision locked on her target. "THAT IS WHY HE'S DEAD?" She screamed with more hate then she has ever felt before. Unsheathing her zanpakuto, she went at Kaki with all that hate.
All that she could do was submit; in Kaki's mind, that was all that she had to do. She frowned as she watched her sister advance, not bothering to lift her sword. She didn't bother to do anything in her defense; she was going to let Hotaru kill her and, hopefully, bring peace to herself. If the shinigami were going to get to her eventually, if Kaki felt powerless to defend her, then she would let her achieve her goal first.
"Gomen nasai," she murmured.
"Really... gomen... nasai," she whispered, waiting for Hotaru to finally destroy her. It seemed like hours to her, each milisecond, passing by at a dull and slow pace. Everything seemed to move in slow motion to Kaki, Hotaru's words stretched out, her own footsteps like hammers upon the rocky and solid ground.
All she could do was wait for this hell to end. She wanted Hotaru to kill her; then she could find peace. Then that hollow would go down with her. Then she could die knowing that Hotaru had found peace. She could die knowing that Hotaru had achieved vengence.
"I'm sorry," she whispered once more, "for everything."
"For Otou-san... for Oka-san," she frowned. "For those shinigami, for whatever happens next..."
For not even really knowing who you are, Kaki thought, waiting for the cold embrace of death to take her. Shockingly, it didn't seem to come like she had expected--the sword seemed not to peirce her heart. That was because it didn't.

Hotaru came charging in, each passing second her sword got closer going for Kaki's heart. With every passing moment, she could feel her revenge finally coming closer, she would finally avenge her father, and bring back honor to her family name.
It seemed to take hours for her to get close enough for her sword to stab Kaki's heart, and her sword hit flesh. Blood traveled down her blade from the wound she just inflicted, but Hotaru face was full of surprise. She wasn't expecting this, someone had interfered with her vengeance. She looked up at the silvered haired man, the one she met some time ago. "What do you think your doing?" She asked the Arrancar, who she thought would be an ally, but turned out not to be trusted.
Samyeru had indeed interfered with this act of violence, he made it his duty to do so. He even received a wound from this, but because of his hierro it didn't go to far. It did pierce about an inch in, but no further. He looked down at the anger crimson eyed girl, her rage building every second he was in the way of her revenge. He sighed slightly, grabbing the blade, and removing it from his chest. "I'm sorry Firefly, but I can't let you hurt Sparrow." He said, apologetic toned voice as he looked down on the small girl.
"YOU DON'T HAVE THAT RIGHT!!" She yelled pulling her sword from his hand, her eyes full of fury as she stared down this Arrancar. She was right not to trust him, seeing this made it all clear what his intentions are.
Samyeru felt bad, not because of the wound to his chest, but for her needing to kill Kaki. He never really understood why she wanted to kill the last person in her family.
She had expected death to take her in cold and unforgiving hands, yet it never arrived. She stared ahead, shocked. She was dumbstruck; her jaw dropped. Samyeru had come. And as she looked at the scene before her, the more she examined it, the more regret she felt pooling within her. Why did he have to come?!
"Matte," she mumbled, drowned out by Hotaru. "Matte!"
"BAKA!" Kaki shouted, fists clenched. "I wanted her to do it! I wanted her to kill me! Don't you get it!? She'll be killed by them! They're... I can't do anything so I want her to get it done before they find her! Damn... it!"
She felt tears pooling in the corners of her eyes, she began to sob quietly as she continued to mumble on. Her anger had quickly faded to sorrow, to regret.
"Moron," she mumbled. "Should have just let her do it. Gomen nasai, onee-chan, gomen nasai."
