General Information
--------------------
Name: Arashi Kazeshi
Actual Age: 110
Appearing Age: 11
Gender: Male
Appearance
Standing at four foot four and weighing in at seventy-seven pounds, Arashi is the epitome of normal for his age in standards of stature. He is perfectly medium in all aspects of the word in terms of appearance. If anything, his arms and legs look rounded and without tone. This applies to his chest and abdomen as well. After all, most children aren't muscular. His face is slightly rounded which is due to him still being very much a child. His brown eyes are large and round, resembling saucer plates. The aforementioned also helps to contribute to his child-like appearance. His spiked, blond hair falls down to his cheek. Its lightness does very little to offset his pale complexion.
He wears the standard Shinigami uniform with only a slight adjustment. He wears a dark green obi sash around his waist. It is tied such that there is quite a bit of slack hanging off of each end. The slack hangs to about his knees and comically sways as he walks. There has been occurrences when excess amounts of movement have led to them wrapping around his legs and sometimes causing him to trip. This is another example of him seeming immature and comical.
Another "improvement" made on the uniform is the yellow hat that Arashi sometimes wears. It is rather large and flops a bit on his head. It is extremely western but he does not let that discourage him from wearing it almost any day. The only time he is without this hat is typically for formal events.
When in his Gigai Arashi does his best to dress up like the average 11 year old. Since the "average" 11 year old can apply to a number of looks, Arashi had a lot of freedom in choosing his outfit. He typically goes with his trademark hat with a jacket of about the same shade. Underneath this jacket he usually wears a button up shirt of some fashion. Arashi usually goes for a darker shade of green but has been known to use brown in its stead.
On his legs he wears baggy cargo pants. This serves no more purpose than to store a bunch of candy for intense snacking. It also makes him look rather "cool" because with this fashion statement he almost automatically blends in and doesn't have to worry about his presentation. On his feet he prefers to go barefoot. When the time does arrive that he needs shoes he just prefers shoes that slip on and don't require socks.
Personality
Two words: seriously whimsical.
Arashi is still very much a child and he acts like it without bothering to hide it. As such, he has a plethora of child-like mannerisms. He doesn't eat vegetables and hates all kinds of work. He spends most of his days playing about chasing butterflies or pulling very juvenile pranks on those around him. In between these "genius" pranks, Arashi can typically be found napping or otherwise slacking off when he should be working.
While Arashi is of what can be considered average intelligence, he is still highly naive. This is due mainly to his childish innocence as he feels that all people are essentially good on the inside. Because of this, he is quick to trust other people and adopt them as his "best friend." If people do betray him they're "meanie heads" and he doesn't need them anyway.
Being a child, Arashi can be described as utterly innocent. He only fights hollows because "they're monsters". He would never fight a person and is altruistic to the core. He would do most things for most people as long as it didn't involve work. Share candy? Sure. Bring someone some water? Of course. This extends into much greater favors. Again, as long as it doesn't involve work. Or vegetables...they're icky.
Due to his childish nature, it is no surprise that Arashi doesn't much care for authority. This makes him come across as disrespectful. While that is true to a certain extent, it isn't true always. If he finds someone fun or amusing he'll make them his close friend which typically comes with respect. The problem is that grown ups typically don't like to play games and he has a hard time being friends with them.
When Arashi makes a friend, a real friend, he will do well to keep them. He tries to look past their quirks even though their idiosyncrasies may bother him. This is apparent with his friend from the Shinoreijutsuin Yoh. Yoh was serious about his work most times and would get serious about life and direction and the like. It really didn't make sense to Arashi but he would look away and knuckle through his friend's little speeches about responsibility or life direction or whatever he was always rambling on about. As long as his friend was good for a game of tag, Arashi would bear through a lot.
Now, on to Arashi's lovely and endearing quirks. Arashi is extremely scared of spiders. This phobia has grown to the extent that he faints if he even sees one. This could be a tiny little spider that is many feet away. Size and location just don't matter to Arashi, however. His justification for this is that spiders are icky and anything with that many limbs has to be evil.
Another quirk is that Arashi can't swim. For some reason of which he is unaware, he is kind of terrified of going into the water. Just the thought of swimming or going near water is enough for him to want to flee. No one ever really questioned this fear as hydrophobia is a fairly common quirk in any kind of people. That doesn't mean that the fear hasn't met its share of criticism. Because of this fear he doesn't practice with people with water-type zanpakuto. Also, if he was to fight someone with water-based powers he would be forced to flee.
Now, time for random things that Arashi enjoys. Arashi likes all kinds of animals, except spiders. He loves dogs and cats and even animals that are considered "wild" and "dangerous" like bears and cougars. This could mainly be attributed to his naive nature and childish innocence believing that all animals are good and are perfectly willing to be patted and rubbed by him. Luckily, he's never come across an animal dangerous enough to seriously hurt him so that he is capable of keeping up this attitude.
Arashi is also strangely drawn butterflies. He doesn't really know why but seeing a butterfly flutter about in the wind gets him excessively elated. He chases them around and pouts when he can't catch them, which is often enough that he pouts about it quite often. When he actually manages to catch them, he holds them very loosely in his hands to avoid hurting them. Often times he holds them so loosely that they actually fly away. Arashi will pout about this too.
History
Part I-Life
Arashi was born in Tokyo in the year 1900. As a small child he grew up during the Russo-Japanese War. This led to him to not getting to spend much time as a child. He rarely got to play with other children nor did he ever get what would then be considered "toys" acceptable for a child to play with. By the end of the war he was five years old and had become content to simply swing around a stick in his free time. This led to him studying the old art of the samurai. He would read about the code of Bushido (the small bits that he could read). Also during this time, he would practice with the stick. This practice could be considered outdated with the growing usage of rifles and the rapid industrialization of Japan.
Despite his classical studies, at the ripe young age of fifteen, his parents enrolled him in the Japanese navy. He was taught the British practices by his commanding officers who had been taught themselves these practices a while before his birth. He worked well on his ship and followed orders. Under the surface, however, he longed for a revival of the feudal system. He longed to be a samurai and follow his code of Bushido. He secretly disapproved of the tactics he had heard about that occurred during the Russo-Japanese War. More so than this, he wished that all the fighting would just end.
Arashi would not get his wish. After training, he was sent to Singapore to help suppress a mutiny from Indian troops against the British government. There he came face to face with what true warfare was as his destroyer fired onto the rioting masses. It was utterly horrifying to the young man who was still only fifteen at the time. After the initial attack, Arashi ran and hid under his bunk. He didn't want to be apart of this madness. He couldn't stand to be a part of any of this war any more. This would not be the case as he had to sail out again from home. This time, he was transferred to the protected cruiser "Otowa". It was on this ship that he would finally escape this war.
One day they came across a dense fog and could not get their bearings. Many attempts to navigate all failed and the crew was concerned for their lives. However, they understood that this was part of the navy and continued with their duties despite this fear. Their resolve was not rewarded in the traditional sense, unfortunately. In this dense fog the Otowa ran aground and killed many of the crew. Arashi, was in this group of sailors that did not survive the incident. He drowned to his death as the ship lay in the water.
Part II-Plus Life
Arashi would appear as a ghost on his ship after his death. He was by himself and loneliness set in. He would spend his days simply looking out at the sea and sighing. The only companion he really had was the wind. It would blow and give gentle breezes that he would thoroughly enjoy. Those breezes were the only thing he had to look forward to. He would laugh as they came and smile almost childishly as if they were old friends. The dead sailor was just lonely and depressed. In nostalgia, Arashi would long for the childhood he never had.
His lonely feelings would dissipate when he first met a Shinigami. Of course, this was a short meeting, but it made him feel less lonely all the same. The Shinigami simply told him that he would send him to a better place. Arashi responded by saying that anywhere was better than here. The man in black simply smiled at this statement. He then placed his katana on Arashi's head and Arashi felt a strange feeling washing over him. It was so odd yet strikingly pleasant. It felt as if all the troubles of the Earth were just melting away from him.
Part III-Early Life in the Rukongai
Arashi was born again in the Rukongai. Whilst there he lived with a family that was rather accepting of him and his quirks. Since there was no war, he was able to live as a child to his fullest. He spent his days playing and running about without worry of pain or suffering. Throughout this time he would also be asked to help his adoptive father in the small store they owned. He despised doing this because it typically involved doing things that were just no fun at all such as sorting vegetables or handling transactions. Also, it took away time that he could've been using to play or make new friends. This would, in turn, lead to his loathing of work.
When he wasn't working for his father (which was most of the time) Arashi was out making new friends. He was well liked by the other children that inhabited the second district of the North Rukongai due to his fun loving nature and uplifting attitude. Well, there was that, and the fact that he planned some of the best pranks around. If you went to sit down and found a rotten tomato in your chair, it was a safe assumption that Arashi had put it there. This caused him to become a bit of a social pariah among the adults. Arashi typically didn't care about this as adults were boring anyway. However, this would lead to him losing friends because of those parents simply forbidding their child to play with him. It would also lead to him getting scolded by his older sister, Amami. Amami was very much the serious type and expected Arashi to behave the same way. That wasn't happening any time soon.
During this time, Arashi knew very little of the Shinigami who lived in the Seireitei. He would sometimes hear stories from Amami who wanted very much to become one. Whenever she got too excited about the possibility of this happening, her little brother would burst her bubble by laughing at her. He didn't see why she wanted to become one so badly; it sounded too much like work, after all. He had never met any Shinigami before himself and had to admit that he was curious. Then again, he was curious about a lot of things. What was up with butterflies? Why didn't they like him trying to catch them?
Eventually, Amami would take the test to try to get into the Shinoreijutsuin, and fail...miserably. This led to his sister's great depression which involved a lot of yelling directed at her whimsical younger brother. She had really wanted this and was heart-broken about not getting accepted. She was already 160 and she couldn't manipulate her reiastu at all. It seemed to her that her whole life would be here in the Rukongai. At least, that was what Arashi had overheard her always crying about before trying a prank to cheer her up. He didn't understand what was so bad with the Rukongai. He liked it there. There was nothing really urgent, and he could be himself. Being only 60 at this time, he couldn't be expected to understand too much about what his sister was so upset about. Their parents picked up on this and simply told Arashi to stay away from his moody sister. That worked for him.
Wanting to find out what Amami was so upset about, Arashi's curiosity towards the Shinigami increased. He would stalk them whenever they came into his district. There was nothing really special about them, they were simply people who wore a bunch of black and carried around swords. They talked and drank and swore and lounged like anybody else. Of course, no one called them on it. No one told them to stop talking or drinking or swearing or lounging like they would do to him if he even attempted those things. He never drank or swore; lounging and talking were different stories.
Arashi decided that that had to be it. Amami didn't want anyone to call her out on what she did. If she became a Shinigami then she could come back to the Rukongai and do whatever she wanted without anyone yelling at her. He didn't see why she wanted it so badly; she was so well-behaved. However, that just had to be it. There was no other explanation as to why being a Shinigami would mean so much to her. After all, the black clothes weren't even that cool and having swords wasn't that cool either. Wait, he had never owned a sword. Maybe they were cool? Maybe they made you like a super cool guy who got all the dessert you wanted? That would be excellent.
As anyone who knew him could tell you, once Arashi became curious about something he would not let the matter rest. He began to stalk them with an even greater resolve now. He was gradually getting closer and closer to them as he became more and more confident. Eventually he was practically walking in their shadows as he followed them around. His eyes wide, Arashi would always be quick to dart away if he ever feared about being spotted. The young one didn't know that the Shinigami could sense him anyways. Most of them were actually beginning to get quite used to him following them. Arashi could not hear them, but they would chuckle slightly whenever they sensed that he was nearby. One even went so far as to say "I feel better now that our shadow is back."
Part IV-Late Life in the Rukongai
Eventually, Arashi began to grow bored with simply stalking the Shinigami that would show up. He tried to go back to simply playing with his friends but that didn't quite satisfy his adventurous yearnings. He couldn't shake the urge to see what it was like to swing a sword around and feel cool using it. He didn't know what it was that drew him to the blade so; all he knew was that he wanted to obtain one of those cool swords like they had. He became discontent with the Rukongai as he felt that his sister had. The longer he sat around the less time he got to play with one of those cool swords. He didn't even know how you got one. He really should've asked someone about it.
During this time, Amami failed to get in to the Shinoreijutsuin again. This came at no surprise to her family because they couldn't really see any improvement in her. However, they didn't feel like putting up with her pity routine a second time around. She was still expected to do chores and Arashi could even bug her. That was good news to him; he didn't want to admit it, but he really wanted to get a sword. He figured taking the test had something to do with it. Thus, one day he approached her about it.
"Neesan..."
"Hai Arashi?"
"Can I ask you about the test?" As he asked this, her face became flustered and she tensed up angrily.
"Look! I worked as hard as I could on that damn test. If you think you could do better then take it. But I won't have you making fun of me!" As she finished, she crossed her arms and exhaled loudly. She was mad. But, that wasn't all that made Arashi cringe. He had never heard his sister say "damn" before. He had actually never heard her speak in anger. It was scary.
Bowing his head, Arashi held his hands together and poked his index fingers together nervously. In a very quiet voice he began to talk: "I was going to ask you what was on the test Neesan." This wasn't the right thing to say, apparently as it angered her further.
"They tested to see if I had any reiastu alright?! And I didn't! Laugh it up Arashi, go ahead. Your Neesan's a failure, she knows. You know, why don't you take the test? I'd love to see you feel humiliated for a change."
Arashi ran. That's all he could think to do. He didn't like his sister; she was so mean. He darted straight out of the house and as far away as he could. Water droplets rolled down his cheeks, but they weren't tears. Arashi didn't cry. Crying was for girls. He hadn't looked where he was going. Who else should he bump into other than one of the Shinigami who had become so accustomed to being followed around. The Shinigami looked down at him and smiled; this had been one of the Shinigami who had likened him to a shadow.
"Well hey there little guy, you're a little close for a shadow," he said in a warm voice. His eyes closed as he kind of tussled Arashi's hair.
"I want to be like you. I want to get a sword and be like you. How do I do that?" The Shinigami looked rather taken back at this. He scratched the back of his head nervously and straightened up. He kind of frowned a little as he opened his eyes and cocked his head to the side in curiosity.
"Well, you're a bit young there little guy. Plus, you have to have reiastu. Not everyone can be a Shinigami." Arashi's face got even redder. He had been crying a little when he was running. He hadn't admitted it but he had cried. His face was beet red at this time. Almost in reaction to his anger, the wind picked up. What was an almost gentle breeze when he ran became a rather fierce bit of turbulence. The Shinigami couldn't ignore this wind and he looked down at Arashi curiously.
"What's reiastu? How do you know I don't have it?" As he spoke, the wind picked up even further. Dust was kicking up everywhere and shop banners were becoming unhinged.
"Right now, I'm beginning to think the opposite is most likely true."
"Really?!" As he spoke, a strong gust of wind occurred which knocked down the Shinigami. After this, however, the wind stopped and a gentle breeze returned. The Shinigami stood back up and brushed himself off. He then looked at Arashi and gave him a small smile accompanied by some nervous laughter.
"I think you should come with me."
The Shinigami led Arashi to the Shinoreijutsuin where he told someone who looked important about what had happened. The important looking person studied Arashi over and then asked him to do it again. The young spirit looked up at the man nervously before concentrating hard. It caused a slight breeze but nothing more. He looked up at the Shinigami and the important person with a red face. This time, he was simply embarrassed. He had apparently caused that huge amount of turbulence but now he could barely mange a breeze. The important person looked pleased though. He told Arashi that he would be attending the Shinoreijutsuin soon and that he should inform his parents.
"When do I get a sword?"
"Soon enough little guy," the Shinigami replied.
Arashi walked home that day walking on airs. He skipped his way to his house and happily opened the door before walking into the main room. His whole family was there. He smiled happily at them all and told them the news. His parents cheered, but Amami jumped up in tears.
"GET OUT!!! Leave this place and never come back you ungrateful little shit! I don't have a brother!"
Arashi spent one night in his house to get everything of his together. Then he readily complied. Amami was mean anyway.
Part V-Shinoreijutsuin
When Arashi entered the Shinoreijutsuin, he learned what the Shinigami had meant. Being only 95, all those in his class were significantly older than him (most were at least 140) and some were almost double his age. It was kind of scary to think that he was expected to do just as well as these older people and even make friends with them. Some were actually nice to him and appreciated his attitude and love of fun. The majority, however, didn't much care for him. They looked down on him and didn't care about how nice or fun he was; they only cared that he was young and in the same position they were in.
In his classes, he was an average student. Young as he was, some would expect prodigal status from him. This was not the case as he had his fair share of strengths and weaknesses. He excelled at swordsmanship for reasons he didn't know. For some reason, it just seemed to come naturally to him. He was in the top fourth of his class in it and made a lot of older people feel stupid. Arashi also had such success with Shunpo. This wasn't because of some natural talent at it; it was mainly due to the appeal of it. It would make for great games of tag, which is why he loved it.
Now, onto what he wasn't so talented at. In Kido, he was just below average. And that does mean, just below average. He was one place below the student who was right in the middle of his class. It didn't come naturally to him but he didn't dislike it. The thing he did dislike was hand to hand combat. It was then that he learned that he really hated fighting. This was combat without the appeal of a sword and he didn't much care for it. During exercises he would do whatever he could to avoid having to actually fight his opponent. At one point he even used Shunpo to get away from his sparring partner. His teachers scolded him and he had to come up with new tricks to get out of fighting. Despite this, he was actually able to pass the class (albeit barely.)
During this time, he made a pretty good friend. His name was Yoh Hanran. He was about forty years older than Arashi but he was still younger than most of the students by a few years. Yoh was a bit different, he worked hard at all of his classes but still liked to play and have fun with Arashi. They would play tag from time to time and it would go for hours. This was mainly due to them both being good at Shunpo. They shared in common that they both didn't like to fight. The difference between them being that Yoh actually would fight if he was straightly ordered too. Arashi didn't quite understand this so he asked him about it one day.
He walked into the training ground where Yoh was watching everybody spar and practice their Zanjutsu. Well, Yoh wasn't actually watching; he was mainly just reading and would look up anytime there was a big hit that left an echo. Arashi had watched Yoh do this before. He would read poetry for hours. Yoh was just so odd sometimes. Either way, Arashi walked up to him and plopped down beside his friend.
"Yoh-kun?"
"Hai, Arashi-kun?" he replied, looking up from his book.
"Why do you fight when you're ordered to? I thought you hated fighting, like me." At this, Yoh closed his book and sighed slightly. At this Arashi furrowed his brow, why was he sighing? What was wrong with his lanky friend?
"I don't hate fighting Arashi-kun. I hate pointless violence. I feel like we should avoid it whenever we can. Sometimes, I think we use it as a solution for problems that are difficult to solve through diplomacy. I just...I just don't want to devolve into an animal who only knows how to fight." Arashi simply pinched the bridge of his nose as Yoh spoke. He liked his friend but he didn't like when he got all moody and everything.
"Yoh-kun, you're my best friend, but you're weird. Why do you rant on about it? Why don't you just say that you don't like to fight? Why make it all complicated?"
His friend looked at him and was utterly dumbstruck. He dropped his book which kicked up a little dust and blinked hard a couple times. It was as if Arashi had just kicked a puppy or crushed a butterfly. "I do it to make the distinction that I don't dislike all fighting. I'm not a pacifist, just an idealist."
"That's so weird!" Yoh composed himself and picked up his book. He blew on it a bit and patted the dust off. At that, he stood up and stretched a little. Arashi figured that he got tired of sitting and his butt hurt. Arashi stood up as well but that didn't change much. He was so short compared to his friend.
"I'm sorry that you don't like it Arashi-kun. However, it's my ideal. I have to cling to it or I have nothing. You should find your own ideals. Things that you can cling to and make up who you are. It makes you your own man." After that, Yoh used a burst of Shunpo to leave. Their relationship was a bit strained after that because Arashi didn't have any ideals.
When it came time to graduate, his classmates where extremely surprised by the fact that he actually got into the Gotei 13. This might've been due to the fact that he had been a pretty average student. But only those who had gotten close to him could understand that he really never tried in classes because it was too much like work. But when it came down to crunch time, he was more than willing to do what he could to keep his sword. Swords were cool and all.
Part VI-Shinigami Life
When Arashi first became a Shinigami, he was surprised by his zanpakuto. Well, there were two of them. One was more his size, a wakizashi as they called it. The other was an average katana. Apparently these together was referred to as a daisho pair and it was a sign of great status as a samurai to use them both. He took a childish delight in this but didn't know that he could use them both. Being little over 100, Arashi couldn't much handle a katana with one hand. As such he mainly stuck to the wakizashi unless the situation called for a greater reach.
He found himself bored by the majority of the work given to him. The paperwork was annoying and the patrol work was just boring. The only thing he did like was going to the Human World for fighting monsters and stuff. He liked seeing the Human World. He went there on his time off and everything. It was so busy and bustling. He loved it. In the human world, he could never be bored. There was always so much to do and so much to see there. It beat the Seireitei hands down.
One day, while he was out and about, who should he come into contact with but Yoh. Apparently he too had made it into the Gotei 13 which really wasn't surprising considering his work ethic. However, the way they bumped into each other was quite comical. They were both using Shunpo and smacked into each other. Luckily, they were on a rooftop when they collided so they didn't fall too far. As they got up, Arashi squealed with delight and smiled broadly.
"Yoh-kun!" he exclaimed. It was so great that he was here. He had wanted to see him in the few years since he had graduated. Yoh seemed moderately excited, but Yoh rarely got excited about anything.
"Kon'nichiwa, Arashi-kun."
"Where have you been? What have you been up to?" Yoh rubbed the back of his head and stretched a little.
"Oh, you know, I've been doing my work, staying out of trouble. I've been working at getting my Shikai. I think a few people from our graduating class might already have theirs. I just don't want to get too far behind. Have you been working at yours?"
"Shikai?" Arashi asked his much taller friend. Had he been growing even more? Was Yoh still getting taller? Arashi hadn't grown an inch since graduating. Yet, here was Yoh, at least two inches taller than he had been. He lumbered over Arashi yet still just seemed so small. Arashi could just picture him sitting and reading poetry with his usual slouch. He always seemed so short when he sat down.
"You don't know? Wow, you're pretty far behind Arashi-kun." He said this in his typical Yoh voice. He never held any condescension or anger in his tone. He was always just Yoh. So static. Arashi's voice at least had levels of excitement and volume. It wasn't off-putting for Arashi, but it was just one of the reasons why Yoh didn't have many friends.
"Behind on what Yoh-kun?"
"Oh, you know, the curve and everything. Look, I'd love to chat but I was in the middle of an assignment, so I really have to go. It's been nice seeing you Arashi-kun." After that he just used a burst of Shunpo to get away. Arashi just kind of stood there before sinking down. Since when had Yoh been able to Shunpo that fast? He had surpassed him; Arashi just kind of shook his head.
Then, he looked up and decided that being strong wasn't important to him. Arashi decided that would be his ideal. That would make him his own man and Yoh would have to live with that. He figured that it would be enough for him to be able to talk to Yoh about his silly grown-up stuff like ideals and being your own person. He didn't much care for that stuff, but Yoh did and he was Arashi's best friend for at least a few years. He figured he deserved that much.
After his meeting with Yoh, Arashi learned that his swords were special. Together they were a zanpakuto and they had a name. If Arashi figured out this name, the swords would take a different form and he would get a large power boost. This was called Shikai. And it had been what Yoh meant. Achieving Shikai was the goal of almost every Shinigami and people (as Yoh had) asked Arashi if he had been practicing. Shikai actually didn't seem that appealing to Arashi.
A power boost didn't matter to him because he didn't like fighting. He had heard that he would have to listen to his sword. As such, he ignored his sword. Achieving Shikai would only mean more work because he would probably get promoted. It would also mean more power which meant that he would be expected to fight even more. Neither of these sat well with Arashi. This remains part of the reason why he barely uses the katana, to prevent a bond with it. That wasn't the only thing that Arashi didn't want to bond with.
During his time as a Shinigami Arashi learned that Amami had finally gotten into the Shinoreijutsuin. In fact, she was in her second year as he had graduated. This meant that she had just graduated herself when he heard this bit of news. He didn't want to see her, but she had found him. She had approached him when he was pretending to practice his swordsmanship. She kicked up a lot of dust as she approached but eventually she stopped a few feet from him standing there in front of a practice dummy.
"Hello Arashi." Arashi took his time turning his head to face Amami before sheathing his wakizashi. He didn't practice with the katana. He never practiced with the katana.
"Yes, Amami-chan?" He said this very casually. He didn't care about her anymore. She had screamed for him to leave his own home and that he was no longer her brother. In retaliation he was pretending he didn't have an older sister. He hadn't said "Neesan" in years.
"I'm...I'm sorry for what I said to you. I was just jealous. I've been thinking of how I would apologize to you and how I would try to make it up to you. I can't. I can't take back what I said to you. Your Neesan is sorry." Arashi let out a small smirk. He knew just what to say to that meanie face. He would be all super-cool and turn the tables and stuff.
"I'm sorry. You must be confused. I don't have a Neesan." With that, in a very Yoh-esque fashion, he used Shunpo to leave her. Arashi hasn't seen Amami since.

Name: Fujin
Translation - Fujin is the wind god in Japanese mythology
Unreleased Appearance
When Fujin is sealed, it takes the form of a daisho pair. This makes Arashi one of the few Shinigami to posses two separate swords that share a spirit. The two swords take the form of a katana and wakizashi. The katana is on the shorter end having only 2 feet (61 cm) of length for the blade. The hilt of this sword is also on the shorter end, being only 9 inches (23 cm) long. The wakizashi follows suit with the trend of being short by having a blade length of 18 inches (45 cm). The handle measures 6 inches (15 cm).
The wrapping over the handles of Arashi's blades are dark green in color. If one were to look close, one would see they have a pattern much like wind blowing. This pattern looks like wavy lines with spirals at the end. Again, this pattern is hard to see unless one were to hold up the handle of one of the swords and study it. The guard of both of swords is a simple rectangle. They measure 3 inches in length by 1 inch in width. On the guards is also the pattern that is present on the handle wrappings. On this location, the pattern is more noticeable as there are four of them. They occupy the space between the blade and each edge of the rectangle guard.
Arashi wears the sheathe of his wakizashi on his back hip. The handle points out to his right side as that is the hand he uses it. The katana's sheathe is worn on his hip on his left side. As such, he uses the katana with his left hand. Both sheathes tend to sway when he walks. This is mainly due to them being tied loosely to his body. Despite this fact, the blades never seem to fall out. Magic.

Arashi was on duty. Snore. Currently he was running around where he was supposed to be stationed trying to look for someone with which to play tag. He was good at tag. Also, he liked playing it. That, coupled with him being good at it, made him pure hell for his squad mates. They used to humor him and play with him a bit. However, when he was deemed to hard to catch they gave up and simply ignored his lovely attempts at good fun.
As such, he'd need to find someone who wasn't in his squad. They weren't used to him and would perhaps be willing to play with him. He used Shunpo to zoom about to a random spot before taking off. Hoping among rooftops, he had to put a hand on his hat to keep it from flying off of his blond little head. He didn't know where he was, but he didn't recognize any of the people here. That was a good sign.
Running up to a stranger, he slapped his hand on their lower back.
"TAG!"
The larger person turned and looked at him. This person was a man who quite literally lumbered over him. He was bald and extremely muscular in his build. He was a brick wall. It was scary and junk. The large man gave a wide smile and cocked his head at Arashi curiously. This was scary and horrible. Arashi kind of cowered away from the larger man and mentally prepared to run. He knew where home was and could Shunpo there if it got bad. This scary guy was a monster.
Then the scary guy reached down at Arashi and patted him on the head. He then let out a very low "Tag." This was ensued by a wide, toothy smile and the larger man turning around and running a ways. When the large man turned to see if Arashi was following, Arashi let out a loud laugh and began to chase after the man. For the whole afternoon he played tag with the larger man. Over the course of this afternoon, he didn't learn the man's name or even which barracks he was in. At the end of the day, Arashi reported in and went to bed. The larger man had just been his friend for the day.
Arashi had many friends for any day.
