General Information
--------------------
Name: Aosawa Kaki
Actual Age: 81
Appearing Age: 8
Gender: Female
Appearance
Taking on the appearance of an eight-year-old girl, she stands at four foot one. Her figure seems somewhat lanky, her complexion is pale. Her posture is usually somewhat slouched, unless she's feeling jittery for some reason. When that happens, hell, if you can put a label on any of her postures then kudos to you. She's anything but graceful.
Kaki's hair is dark green, the color of an avocado peel, falling just barely past her shoulders in thick and messy strands that curl together ever so slightly. Her eyes contrast with her hair, being of a radiant scarlet hue. Her eyes are bright, and usually serious at the same time. They seem to shift from scarlet to blood-red when she's angered, partly because they lose their shine.
As for attire, Kaki usually wears a black scarf that sits on her shoulders and cuts off a piece of her chin from the sight of others. Usually the free end of the scarf rolls past Kaki's waist, just barely. Her light brown shirt is somewhat baggy on her, having a v-neck similar to the cut on the shinigami uniform. It stops just past her collar bone. Her sleeves cover up her wrists with ease. She wears pants in the same color, and yet again, they are baggy and slip just past her ankles. She no longer keeps her feet bare, wrapping them in plain white bandages instead. This is more per Hotaru's request than of her own free will. Due to the recoil of her shikai, she also wraps bandages around her hands, rolling them up all the way around her forearms.
However, after meeting her sister and settling their differences, Kaki finds herself forced into human clothes, which she often complains about. The girlier the better, in her sisters eyes. For Kaki, this is a living nightmare.
Since her capture and imprisonment in Los Noches, Kaki has gained a consistent set of surgical scars across her chest and abdomen, as well as on her arms and the small of her back. On her left hand are marks made from a chain whip digging into her flesh.
She has also changed most of her attire. While she still wears a black scarf, she wears a burnt-orange, short-sleeved tunic-style shirt with curved black marks along the collar, sleeves, and hem. She wears a pair of dark gray track pants. She still wears bandages, and wraps them almost up to her shoulder.
Kaki's reiatsu color is dark green.
Personality
Kaki is hyper, that's blatantly obvious. She always seems to have energy to spare, whether others want her to or not. She's found constantly joking around, trying to find things to poke fun at. She occasionally has her shining comedic moments, though she also has quite a few 'oh, kami, not again,' moments. While most of her jokes are imitations of someone, a few of them happen to be puns, and after she lets them out, Kaki scratches the back of her head and says, "I couldn't resist."
Then there's her anger. She's not the best at controlling it, and has quite a tendency to get mad at people for very tiny things. She'll even get to the point of chasing a person, cornering them, and then stopping dead, simply because she doesn't particularly like to hurt people. It takes festering rage for her to even get past her doubts that she'll actually do anything. Unless in self-defense, or after god knows how many taunts, Kaki isn't one to fight. When she DOES fight, she hates to see people die, or even get hurt badly. There are very rare occasions when she is not holding back, such as when she's fighting for friends or knows there's no other options.
While she is usually intelligent, her thought process is hindered by the fact that she is an insomniac. The reason behind her insomnia has yet to be discovered, though some who know her well say it's her inner hollow.
In contrast to her name, which means 'hope flower', Kaki takes on a rather bleak perspective: she thinks that people as a group suck and are not to be trusted full-heartedly. Oddly enough, she masks her emotions with laughter, trying to find something to poke fun at; sometimes that something happens to be herself. She has a tendency to refer to everything she does as 'shitty' until told otherwise by a fourth party. It's her way of keeping her expectations low so they're not crushed later.
Since reuniting with her sister, Kaki has decided that she has to protect Hotaru to make up for what she did to their parents. She has grown extremely stubborn in that regard, and will grow intensely angered if she catches someone trying to harm Hotaru--even more if they're succeeding. This is the only thing that will make Kaki angry enough to use her mask at this point.
However, because she has met Hotaru the two have basic sibling behaviors, such as competing to prove who's more talented. More specifically, Kaki has become Hotaru's lab-rat--er, dress-up doll when it comes to human clothes. Kaki completely and utterly loathes Hotaru's behavior. The older Kaki gets, the less feminine she becomes.
Kaki is easily recognizable by her fowl mouth, as she will use profanities very casually and not always with dignity, further irritating Hotaru.
Since her imprisonment in Los Noches, Kaki has become noticeably more timid. She is especially timid around arrancar and adult men, preferring to avoid them. She makes exceptions, but only after people prove that they can be trusted.
She often recalls painful memories, but is good at concealing them. Since her imprisonment, she also got much better at putting on a calm face. This doesn't prevent the occasional outburst.
History
Kaki had been born in the twenty-second district of the rukongai, the younger of two children (Hotaru and herself); things weren't too hard to live with, aside from the unfriendly companion that Kaki had always been stuck with. Her inner hollow had been with her since birth, a phenomenon that Kaki cannot explain. She didn't know much about her hollow, besides the fact that her hollow was serious, whereas Kaki was not. She grew up without parents, partly because her inner hollow possessed her one night and caused her to kill her only family in her 'sleep.' That was when Kaki's insomnia began. At first, it wasn't so much insomnia as it was somniphobia. Eventually it just changed, and Kaki couldn't sleep, even when she outgrew this.
As if by cruel irony, Kaki began to see visions of a tall, glassy man who appeared to be made from jade. Not only that, but she 'awoke' from one of those moments, only to find that a sword was stuck in her sleeve, which was extremely uncomfortable. She looked at the sword, and a sad-eyed expression grew across her face. Killing wasn't something that Kaki was willing to do.
And yet, that changed when a hollow managed to make its way into the rukongai. Kaki, unwilling to fight at first, took quite a beating from the monster before her inner hollow kicked in and eliminated the beast. When Kaki attempted to thank her hollow, the hollow responded with, "Feh. If you die, I die."
Constantly, Kaki's inner hollow and her zanpakuto spirit traded off positions in dominance. Her zanpakuto spirit might be there one day, but there was no guarantee for the next. On top of this nonsense, someone had recommended she join the shinigami academy, which at first Kaki made a joke or two about and then denied. One day she was curious as to what might happen, so she joined the shinigami academy. The problem with her idea was that she had poor control over her inner hollow and was working harder than most students just to suppress it; she didn't stay long though, not even long enough to graduate. She stayed for about five years before she left entirely. She never trained in shunpo, she barely knew any kido spells when she left, though she did show a small amount of talent in kido when she did train in it.
The reason she left: her inner hollow. Kaki didn't want to risk losing control and hurting someone, as her inner hollow often suggested she do. Because of this, her zanpakuto spirit went on a streak of refusing to speak to Kaki about his name or otherwise, despite the fact that Kaki would have been able to hear. It didn't exactly help when Kaki's inner hollow began to make fun of Kaki for it; not to mention she stopped being able to hear it when her zanpakuto had stopped his little fit. Kaki was suspicious about her inner hollow, though she didn't know what to say about it. The words were blurred and mashed together.
Since living in the mountains, Kaki has grown quite a bit. At one point, she went down from the mountains to the beach, and met with a human and an arrancar, the latter named Stour. This resulted in a fight, with Kaki losing, any confidence she once had completely and utterly shattered. Later on, she met this arrancar and was manipulated into speaking to him, which lead to her speaking of her inner hollow, due to a curiosity. He said something about knowing other vizards, and a curiosity consumed her and got the best of her. Curiosity killed the cat, and it also made Kaki fess up. (THE HORROR!)
She had also been confronted by several vizards during trips down to Karakura town, one who asked her to join a place called, "The Haven." Nervous, Kaki declined and turned away from the possibility of being one of an organization again. During a trip down from the mountains and into the woods, she was confronted by a woman named Rydia, who, after traumatizing Kaki with human clothes and photography, offered to help her train for shikai.
However, that wasn't the end of it. Meeting an Arrancar named Samyeru seemed to preceed a series of untimely and unfortunate events. It started with him hiking up into the mountains, Kaki lying awake. Nervously, she tried to watch the arrancar and was spotted quickly. Having failed miserably, the two shared some bread. The entire time, Kaki was nervous. She didn't like not knowing whether to expect the man to attack her, but in the end, she fled before he could--if that were his intention.
Scarcely a week later, Hotaru and Kaki met. At first, the two didn't recognize each other, and spoke casually about the terrible weather. When the two realized who the other was, Hotaru was first to take action. She struck at Kaki, going as far as to release her shikai and aiming to kill her. Kaki was resourceful though, and she used a bakudo to bind Hotaru as she ran away. She noticed that Hotaru was being chased by shinigami, however, and took it upon herself to create a distraction. She crossed the shinigami's path, injured and in pain, and meant to keep running though she failed at that. In the end, she stalled the shinigami long enough to give Hotaru a window of time to run away, despite putting strain on her body.
She returned to her mountainous abode, hiding within a small crevice while she rested. Watching the rain pour down from the skies, she contemplated on the situation at hand. She wondered whether or not she was going to let Hotaru kill her, and the more she thought about it, the more she leaned towards the idea. Her reasoning was that Hotaru needed to be at peace, and if killing Kaki would bring peace to Hotaru, then she would give up her life for it.
Another week later, the girls met once more, this time, Kaki arriving and Hotaru searching. She stopped, trying to convince Hotaru to speak to her for a brief moment. While she managed to explain how and why she killed their father, Hotaru was less pleased than ever. She attacked Kaki, who was more than willing to let the sword pierce her heart. But it never came. Instead, Samyeru returned, blocking the blow himself. Kaki screamed at him, revealing that she would let Hotaru kill her. To this, Hotaru was surprised, but unmoved. She replied, "Then allow me to bring you death, nee-chan."
However, once more, Hotaru's blade did not pierce Kaki's heart, as the girl was saved by Sanmaru, who pushed the elder's blade away from Kaki. Daigoro and Sanmaru proceeded to attempt to capture Hotaru, with no success. Kaki and Hotaru conspired to fake Hotaru's death, by having Kaki act as though she had lost control of her hollow and devoured Hotaru's soul. For emphasis, Hotaru hid herself using Kyakko. In the end, the shinigami were driven off by the combined force of Sanmuii, Samyeru, and Kaki.
After the issue with Hotaru was resolved, Kaki began to form a resolve. She decided that she would not let any harm come to Hotaru, and that she would make up for her past actions by subduing her hollow. Because of this resolve, she was able to subdue her hollow enough to regain a grip on her path to obtaining shikai.
During the great war of whenever that was, Kaki was hit by a group of arrancar driving a large car. She, and every other character on the board, were dragged into an all out war. Sometime during the confusion, she was captured by an arrancar named Xuan, a fraccion of Szayel.
She was brought to Szayel's laboratory for experimentation, which to her mind was senseless torture. She had no idea how much he was actually taking from cutting her open, and didn't care to know. Throughout her ordeal, two of Szayel's fraccionnes, Adan and Stour, befriended her.
They managed to rescue Kaki, and set her free. Once free, however, Kaki was almost completely alone, and unable to cope. It took a chance meeting with her sister for her to seek any counsel. Though she has lived with her sister in Rydia's abandoned home for weeks, or months, her recovery has been sluggish at best.

Zanpakutō
--------------------
Name: Hisui Hanasenshi
Translation: Jade Flower Warrior
Unreleased Appearance
Hisui Hanasenshi is a wakizashi, the blade measuring fourteen inches in length. The hilt is a pale green, a jade color, wrapped in a silky fabric. The guard is the same jade-like material with the shape of a daisy with a very intricate design, seeing as every petal is a part of it. She carries the sword in hand when she's not in her gigai, though when she is she typically conceals it within a bag of some sort. The sheath is another jade-like piece, but other than that it has nothing else interesting about it.
--------------------
Zanpakutō Spirit
--------------------
Name: Hisui Hanasenshi {Shortened to Hisui-san}
Gender: Male
Spirit Appearance
Hisui Hanasenshi is a tall figure, standing at exactly seven feet tall, but is a spider-like character in the sense that his structure is lankier than Kaki's. His skin is oddly textured, as it appears to be made of a flexible jade. His blue irises are shaped like a six-petaled flower, oddly enough. The man wears his hair up in a ponytail, and he walks around Kaki's inner world in a silver kimono. His long hair falls down to his waist, and is the same shade of avocado-green as Kaki's hair.
His walk is very calm and dignified, noble almost. Hisui-san has a very sophisticated air about him, outbursts and anger seeming lost upon such a man.
Personality
Despite his intimidating size, Hisui Hanasenshi is a peaceful character, always seeming to have a piece of serenity to pull out and show to Kaki on those occasions when he is in control. He speaks in a very formal manner, and, in fact, calls Kaki 'Aosawa-san,' and calls her inner hollow 'Hollow-san,' in respect for the hollow's wishes of keeping her name hidden from Kaki. He uses honorifics for just about everyone he mentions when she speaks with Kaki. He does, however, scold Kaki for her hesitation on the feild of battle. Hisui Hanasenshi has told her that he finds it quite troublesome to be wielded by a child who refuses to strike down a foe. And yet, he says all of this in the same, calm, friendly way. Like Kaki, he has a habit of finding random puns to point out, though he seems honestly surprised when Kaki finds his jokes more annoying than her own.
Hisui-san tends to be weary of Hotaru, and he doesn't always appreciate Kaki's defending of her. While this irritates Kaki, Hisui Hanasenshi believes that she has not changed the way that Kaki would have liked.
Relationship to Master
Kaki and Hanasenshi seem to get along for the most part, though tension arose between the two when Hotaru came into the picture. However, when the situation excludes Kaki's sister, Hanasenshi speaks very formally and politely to Kaki. Nevertheless, Hanasenshi doesn't appreciate Kaki's hesitation during battle, and will often scold her for it.
He refers to Kaki as "Aosawa-san," whereas he calls Hotaru, "Onee-sama".
Since his return to Kaki, he has come to understand her more than she realizes. While she believes that he would abandon her for her cowardice, he actually holds great sympathy for her, and wishes to help her work past her fears.
Inner World
As for his inner world, Hisui Hanasenshi resides within a rain forest. The interesting thing about the forest is the jade-like floor and the flower-covered trees. Vines of flowers surround any of the hundreds of trees, each one that towers up into the sky ceaselessly. The sun cannot be seen from the forest floor.
--------------------
Inner Hollow
--------------------
Name: Kiku
Gender: Female
Appearance
As for appearance, the inner hollow is just a little taller than Kaki, standing at four foot five. She's more graceful in appearance, not lanky in the slightest but rather walks with a fawn-like grace, and with the surefooted-ness of a mountain lion. Her hair is longer, falling down her back, not to mention it's black instead of dark green. Her skin is paler, as though she was wearing white makeup. Her eyes are completely black, no pupils or anything. Finally, instead of wearing the worn-down clothes that Kaki insists on wearing out of her gigai (it wasn't by choice), she wears a white kimono with a black obi.
Personality
She considers Kaki to be useless, and pathetic. Their views on fighting are completely opposite--seeing as Kaki hates the idea of killing anything but hollow and Kaki's inner hollow wants her to kill everything she fights with. Her hollow is sadistic and a hothead, getting angry easily and wanting to fight almost instantly. She finds Kaki's sense of humor troublesome, and in fact, just finds humor troublesome. Her idea of funny is when an opponent freezes dead in their tracks upon sight of Kaki's mask. Her idea of funny is when an opponent begs for mercy. Her idea of funny is when Kaki is forced to use her power, despite her usual reluctance.
Relationship to Master
Kiku considers Kaki to be useless and pathetic. Kaki hates the idea of killing, whereas her hollow is constantly edging her on, telling her to submit to the most primal of instincts. She finds it hilarious when Kaki uses her power, seeing as Kaki continually says she doesn't need her hollow.
Since Kaki's imprisonment, Kaki has abandoned many of her inhibitions, and been more likely to use Kiku's power. Kiku, while not quite feeling sympathy for her 'master,' has stepped back almost entirely. She did this, feeling all of Kaki's pent-up aggression beginning to 'leak.' In short, Kiku has come to fear Kaki.

Hollow Abilities
--------------------
Mask Appearance and Summoning
Below the seven diamond-shaped shards that outline Kaki's ivory-white mask, it is a skeletal piece with jagged teeth. Her eyes turn completely black in this stage, hiding the usual scarlet irises. Outlining the top of her mask are seven diamond-shaped pieces, starting at the corners of her eyes and ending just before the center. For in the center, the seventh piece is a much larger shard.
To summon her mask, Kaki places a hand over her face and curls her fingers as if she were trying to claw into something. Her mask gathers under her palm and solidifies.
Hollow Abilities
Cero
- Description of Attack - Kaki fires her ceros from either of her palms, each is dark green and about the same size as her hand (tiny the mighty?!).
- Limitation - Kaki can only fire four ceros before her mask shatters, and each cero goes about fourty meters.
--------------------
Zanpakutō Shikai
--------------------
Call Out Phrase: "Akeru, Hisui Hanasenshi."
Translation - "Open, Hisui Hanasenshi."
When summoning her shikai, Kaki's sheathed sword is thrown in front of her and held like it was some sort of cannon. Once the release phrase has been called, a jade glow will encompass the weapon as it morphs into an open umbrella.
Shikai Appearance
Her weapon is, like her sister's, a buyoh. The handle is about eighty centimeters long (bit over 2 feet), and is a solid jade material. The top of the umbrella is very hard and solid, made like a shield. It is also eighty centimeters in diameter. The umbrella is a dark green, and has roses coating the entire thing. The roses are all white. Outlining her weapon is a silver-colored blade, roughly one inch wide and paper-thin. It circles the entire umbrella.
Shikai Abilities
Ikioi Tsuku - Gather Strength; Take Heart
- Description of Attack - While swinging her zanpakuto, reishi gathers in the inside of the umbrella, causing the weapon to glow a light green hue. As it swings, Kaki gathers reishi from herself and her surroundings, charging her weapon. Upon contact with another being, it will cause wounds akin to that of being hit by a cero.
- Type - Melee/Reishi
- Range - Melee
- Limitation - Damage is done respectively based on tier and any other variables. Because Kaki is not used to her shikai, she can preform about ten of these total before she is too tired to make any more. Kaki has learned to control her shikai at least to some extent, and is not injured quite as badly when using this attack. However, she still wears coverings on her hands to keep away the (now very mild) burns.

"Th-this is painful!" Kaki hissed, unable to breathe. Today had been rough; she had come back "home" only to find Hotaru had been out stealing clothes again. As a result of this, she found herself being guilt-ed into trying on each and every one, using a small cavern as a dressing room. Currently, she had been shoved into a small turtleneck, red like her eyes, and a black and white, checkered knee-length skirt. "D-dammit Hotaru!"
"Nee-san, that is an undignified manner of speech," Hotaru warned, a glare in her crimson eyes.
"Y-y-your taste... in... kch-clothes is undignifiiiied..." She trailed off towards the end of the sentence, falling over onto the stone ground dramatically, a hand reaching up as though she was incapable of breathing. "G-g-get this shit off of me!"
"Nee-san!"
"I--*hack*--don't ca--SHIT!" Kaki screeched as she darted into the cave. By the time she had begun to spew profanity after profanity, she had managed to stumble over a rock, into another rock, and, surprise, surprise, ending her plight with a collision into a rock. Flattened against the stone, she heard Hotaru call to her.
"Nee-san," Hotaru chimed calmly, "refrain from using such vulgar words. I suggest the kimono next!"
"No!"
"Nee-san," Hotaru warned, lowering her voice, "need I remind you of Otou-sama?"
Kaki groaned as she dug around blindly until she found the kimono in question. She couldn't see it, but at least it was traditional clothing, which was loose and easy to move around in. She lifted it up, blindly trying to work on how she could sneak her normal clothes in after it. This is why she despised human clothing; they made movement impossible.
She continued to scramble to slip her brown shirt and pants on before sliding into the kimono, replacing the obi with her scarf, and concealing her wakizashi within the makeshift obi.
"Nee-san?"
"Yeah?"
"Have you finished in there?"
"If I say no, will you leave me alone?" Kaki mumbled sarcastically before tripping and stumbling her way back. In the light, she saw herself in a silver kimono, and the more she looked at it, the more she hated it. "Where'd you find this?"
"I believe I saw it on sale at a stand. A summer festival is coming relatively soon, I believe."
"Right, so you stole it," Kaki muttered in disgust.
Hotaru tilted her head, looking at her sister. Something was a little off. The kimono was pretty! How could the younger not think so too? "Hm? How was this stealing, Kaki-nee-san?"
"You didn't pay for it," Kaki stated blankly, staring off over the hills. She didn't want to keep this kimono anywhere where she could see it. It reminded her of her inner hollow far too much.
"Oh! There's one more in the--WHERE ARE YOU GOING?!" Hotaru called, turning and watching as her sister darted into the woods, shedding the kimono and revealing her zanpakuto and usual attire.
"Wherever I fucking want to!" Kaki yelled back to her sister, giggling as she watched the vein on Hotaru's forehead throb. "Sayonara!"
