With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.
Izaya looked at the practice dummy in front of him. Or...he looked at what was left of it. He still didn't have his Zanpakuto back from Kin and he still had to practice only Hakuda in the courtyard. He memorized more and more Kido spells in his spare time but that hardly counted. He never blew people's faces off anymore...that was unfortunate. He sighed at what was a series of unfortunate events. Kin hadn't admitted things yet despite the time they seemed to share together. He was going to have to get back to her room soon for the night.
Either way, he sighed at what was left of today's training. It was going to be uneventful from here on out. He'd done his standard exercises and didn't know what else he could do. With a weary look around the training ground he imagined that he could spar with someone. Unfortunately there was no one here who seemed to be upon his level in terms of strength. That was no good. That was no good at all.
It was one of those days, one of those days where Seiji was the bitch and had to take papers everywhere and anywhere, which also included to the third division. He had done all the rest up to this one, so he was pretty caught up, and damn tired to boot.
After he had dropped of the papers, he decided to walk to where his little plant friend was, but something caught his eye. What was this that caught his eye you might ask. The answer was simple. Izaya. It looked as if he had been training all by himself, with no zanpaktou either, that was weird. Maybe Seiji would talk to him.
"'ey! Izaya! That you?!" Seiji yelled from across the training yard. It was pretty desolate, even for this time of evening. Weird.
Seiji walked over to where Izaya was. He walked with a sort of confidence, one would suspect him of being a "tough" guy, when almost everyone who knew him, knew that he was a dork of sorts.
"Izaya, why are you training all by your lonesome?" Seiji asked as he looked around.
Izaya turned his head to see Seiji in his division's training barracks. Well, that was odd. Wasn't he in...some other squad than third? If Seiji was in his division...Izaya felt he would've noticed it by now. Perhaps he was just here for some kind of business. That seemed more likely than him having just transferred into the third division. Yeah...that made more sense.
"Hello Seiji-kun. What are you doing here?" he asked with a curious cock of the head. He took a step away from the practice dummy to kind of leave space for conversation. This meant that he could approach him and talk for a while.
"Izaya, why are you training all by your lonesome?"
Izaya looked around the practice space before looking back at Seiji. Did Seiji honestly think that there was anyone here for him to honestly fight against such that it would be fair? Even without his Zanpakuto he was more than a match for a lot of the people here. Did Seiji seriously not understand this? He gave his friend a look of childish amusement as he crossed his arms.
"Seiji-kun, no offense to the people here...but it wouldn't be much of a fair fight with anyone else here. I mean...feel their reiatsu Seiji. Tell me it could be considered training for me."
Seiji rubbed the back of his head. "Well... I was the paper bitch today... Got to deliver all the papers around... This was my last stop."
After Seiji had looked around, Izaya had began to look around. It seemed as if he would have been training with someone if they were there. Couldn't he just practice with a seated officer? It seemed simple, but maybe there was a reason for it, or maybe he just didn't like people.
"Seiji-kun, no offense to the people here...but it wouldn't be much of a fair fight with anyone else here. I mean...feel their reiatsu Seiji. Tell me it could be considered training for me."
Seiji interlaced his fingers and tapped his left foot against the ground. As he did this, he felt around, trying to find something equal to or greater than Izaya, but he could only really feel Izaya. It was strange.
"Hmmm.... You're right. No one here even comes remotely close... Though..."
Seiji smirked as he reset his stance, standing up straight with one hand on his zanpaktou. He took it off of his uniform and set it down.
"I could always try, I'm sure you feel I'm no match, and I'm not that good at Hakuda, but I need some training."
"Well... I was the paper bitch today... Got to deliver all the papers around... This was my last stop."
Izaya nodded with a small grin at this. He knew very much about paper work and its horror. He found that paper work was just one of those things one had to do in order to go places in the Seireitei. It was like pretending to listen to your girlfriend or killing hollows when you were told. He personally hated the aforementioned things. Well...he didn't exactly mind listening to Kin...but that was neither here nor there. Neither was the fact that he mentally referred to her now as his girlfriend. Yeah...he went there.
"I'm aware of how paper work is kind of about as much fun as tearing off your fingernails. I feel for you Seiji-kun...I know that pain."
"I could always try, I'm sure you feel I'm no match, and I'm not that good at Hakuda, but I need some training."
Izaya popped his neck and grinned slyly at Seiji. He thought actually sparring with him now and how it would play out if he did. He knew he could easily beat him in Hakuda...probably Zanjutsu too. He didn't want to say it to Seiji, but he felt it had to be brought up eventually. After all...he could seriously hurt Seiji if they fought each other.
"Seiji-kun...as we are I don't think that would necessarily be a fair fight. I'm sorry, but I could actually severely hurt you the way things are."
"I'm aware of how paper work is kind of about as much fun as tearing off your fingernails. I feel for you Seiji-kun...I know that pain."
"Bah, paper work, right? This pain so to speak, is only temporary. It'll be another month or so before I'm back on this shitty job. Other than that, I have the minor paper work that is to easy that it takes like, a quarter of the day..." Seiji explained how he felt about the paperwork.
"Seiji-kun...as we are I don't think that would necessarily be a fair fight. I'm sorry, but I could actually severely hurt you the way things are."
Seiji paused for a moment. Was Izaya telling him to use his zanpaktou? That didn't seem like it'd be very fair... Then again, Seiji could feel extra weight on him from the density of Izaya's reiatsu. He wasn't even using a zanpaktou, how would Seiji be able to fight him? A zanpaktou would be necessary for Seiji to fight him.
"Are you saying you want me to use my Ikazuchi?" Seiji referred to his zanpaktou by it's name.
Seiji leaned over and picked up his sword. He unsheathed it and looked deeply at Ikazuchi. It had been sometime since he had actually trained. The last time he had cut Kimiko... and made a big mistake. He would have to not do that again, but it probably wouldn't happen with Izaya. He probably wouldn't hold back as a matter of fact.
Seiji dropped his sheath after pulling Ikazuchi out of it. It hummed with the need for being better. It hummed to him for Izaya's defeat. It wanted so much from Seiji, and he might just need to provide it, unless he wanted to get hurt. Maybe Seiji would go without shikai for a few moments. Test the waters.
Izaya cocked his head at this. He didn't know what an Ikazuchi was but he probably could of guessed that it was the name of Seiji's Zanpakuto. However, Izaya didn't really care what the name of Seiji's Shikai but what it did was actually important to him. He would like to know that sort of thing in case he needed to coordinate with Seiji sometime. He doubted he would need to do this but it never hurt to be prepared.
"Well, Seiji-kun, if you didn't...this would be a bit of a short spar. I'm sorry but that's just a fact."
"Ready when you are, Izaya-kun."
Izaya smiled a bit at this as he unzipped his jacket. He hung it on the practice dummy before slipping off his V-neck to do the same. He was going to Kin's later and didn't want to have to change clothes but he knew he was going to have to take a shower...that was just unavoidable. But, that wasn't the point of what he was trying to do right now. Right now, he was going to focus on sparring with Seiji...and he wanted to get it done quickly.
"I hope you don't mind if I'm a bit foreward."
With that he used a step of Shunpo to bring him quickly to being only a foot away from Seiji. He then jumped towards Seiji and launched a kick at Seiji's head. Then, while in air, he threw a barrage of punches aimed at the top of his head. He didn't care so much about them hitting Seiji, just the intimidation factor of all those attack. When he landed, he jumped back to try to stay outside of his range.
"Well, Seiji-kun, if you didn't...this would be a bit of a short spar. I'm sorry but that's just a fact."
Seiji looked at Izaya with a distasteful look on his face. He was a cocky one, wasn't he? Seiji wanted to knock him down a peg or two, but he also could tell that he was right. Seiji wouldn't last long without using shikai. That was not his only hope, but it was his best chance.
Seiji made no comment to Izaya's previous statement, due to the ideal behind it. He watched Izaya as he took his jacket off and hung it up. With this, Seiji knew he had to be prepared, so he unsheathed his sword and held it in one hand, as he tossed the sheath to the side. Normally he left it on his uniform, but he needed the mobility against someone like Izaya, who was using his fists only.
"I hope you don't mind if I'm a bit forward."
Seiji was looking dead at Izaya as he suddenly appeared less than a foot away. Shit, what little time to block, so, option two, dodge. A quick, monkey like reflex was what Seiji needed. As the kick approached, Seiji bent over backwards, giving an inch or two between Izaya's foot and Seiji's nose. What a close call!
Then, Izaya made punching motions, quick and fearful, but Seiji would not be intimidated, though he would get knocked to the ground from a punch hitting his open chest in the middle of his backward bend.
Seiji stood back up and rubbed his chest, glaring at Izaya. He would have to use shikai, just to stay on even with Izaya. He was a lot stronger than he looked. His small stature suggested he would be more prone to kido, but here he was, knocking Seiji to the ground with his fist. So it began.
"Dageki Teki Ikazuchi Seiyuuki..." Seiji seemed to mumble this out, as his blade transformed into the strange lightning bolt shaped blade. This was his weapon, and he knew the way it moved and how to move it just right.
"You got me convinced Izaya-kun. You do have more skills than I, and for this, I must use shikai." Seiji held his blade with one hand still.
"You got me convinced Izaya-kun. You do have more skills than I, and for this, I must use shikai."
Izaya smiled at this as he exhaled. He jumped backwards before flipping a bit to put some distance between him and Seiji. He didn't know what his Shikai did but it was probably a close range thing. He doubted that it wasn't a range that could outdo Izaya's Kido. Either way, he searched for a spell that would be sufficient against Seiji. A smile spread on his face because of the spell he picked.
"Hado No. 54: Haien!"
The spell shot out from his hand as he used a burst of Shunpo to put him on Seiji's side. He leaped at the man again with a punch aimed at his jaw. He had timed it such that the spell should've just hit. Izaya did math very well, he fought just as well.
Seiji glared at Izaya as he used a high level kido, just like that? No incantation? He must of been a whiz with that sorta stuff. Watching the purple energy flew towards him. In response to this, Seiji brought his zanpaktou to be aiming at it. It was maybe halfway to him as he charged a blast up at the tip of his blade.
"Nami Shingai." Seiji said this calmly as a bolt shaped blast fired off and collided with the hado spell, causing a minor explosion. As the smoke began to clear, Seiji realized that Izaya was no longer there, and he could only be in one place... Around Seiji.
Seiji closed his eyes in order to feel out where Izaya had gone. It wasn't to difficult to find him, especially since he had just throw a punch at Seiji, who just realized it.
Seiji had no time to think about what he could do, only act or get hit, and he would end up getting hit, sending him stumbling a few feet to his other side. He turned to Izaya and charged with his blade in hand, but before getting to him he would appear on the other side of Izaya, behind him to be exact. He brought his sword in an upward slashing motion.
There was no intent to kill with this slash, but the follow-up, that would be the one. Seiji's leg came up after his swing, for a kick to the abdomen area. This wasn't the move, but as his leg came back down, he brought his sword straight down, with extreme force.
