With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.
Was she mad? Did he say something wrong? Hell, he couldn't really tell right now, he was a bit on the drunk side. Wait... she's glaring, yeah, she was mad.
"Kimiko, wait a sec..." Kimiko blinked at Seiji, but before he could finish what he was going to say she went on to the next subject.
"Wait, jump squads? Why would you want to do that? And which squad would you want to join?"
"I have no idea right now... It's just like I have this feeling... of unappreciatedness, like no one even knows who I's am. Maybe I just need mores missions..." Seiji was beginning to slur more and more. His drunkenness was getting the better of him, this was obvious.
Seiji was beginning to be all over the place. He stumbled over near Kimiko and sat down in front of her. He put his jug down next to him and watched Kimiko. Kinda weird, but he was drunk, so it was a bit foreign for both of them he was sure.
"It's consuming, lots of work keeping up with the information turned in by the patrol units." As she spoke she swirled her finger around the jug in her possession.
Consuming, lots of work, lots of information. Man, maybe Seiji should be content with his current place. He barely has any responsibilities, and he is respected by the underlings, which he hardly sees. Either way, it didn't matter.
"Y'know Kimmy, being a part of this place... of the Seireitei... it seems like it eats at your soul... makes everything a bit dull, until you meet someone to make things more interesting..." Seiji finished his sentence abruptly.

"I have no idea right now... It's like I have this feeling... of unappreciatedness, like no one even knows who I's am. Maybe I just need mores missions..."
Seiji was slurring and even making up words and Kimiko smiled but then nodded understandingly.
"Feeling unappreciated huh? Well let's see, if you want more missions I might be able to help with that you know."
Seiji wandered over and sat down in front of her, finally setting his jug down and watching her. She discussed her work and when she looked up he was still watching intently, it was a little strange.
"Y'know Kimmy, being a part of this place... of the Seireitei... it seems like it eats at your soul... makes everything a bit dull, until you meet someone to make thins more interesting..." He finished his sentance abruptly and Kimiko blinked. She looked at Seiji curiously arching a delicate brow.
"Are you okay, Seiji?" Seiji sounded really down and Kimiko wanted to help.

"Feeling unappreciated huh? Well let's see, if you want more missions I might be able to help with that you know."
Kimiko was as helpful as ever. Not just that, but there was something about her... something that just called Seiji to her. He couldn't help but want to be around Kimiko. What was it about her? Her helpful nature? Her smile? There was some way that she treated Seiji that he just couldn't resist.
"Y'know... That's fine... I think I could find somethings... Well, if you could find me a mission or two, I wouldn't mind." Seiji chuckled for a moment. Kimiko is always willing to help Seiji, no matter what. Even after Seiji betrayed her, she was still willing to help him. This always made him feel better.
Seiji was still watching Kimiko when she arched a brow at him. Did he say something wrong? No, he couldn't have. It was strange for him, he had met Kimiko, and bonded with her more than anyone else he had ever met in Soul Society. Even the few people he met in the human world couldn't match up to Kimiko. She was... She was something special to Seiji, whether he wanted to admit it or not.
"Are you okay, Seiji?"
"Well... Yeah, I am. I'm better than okay, actually. I'm having a great time with my best friend." Seiji smiled. He was confident in his words now, like he had found his resolve that he normally had when he was sober.

Kimiko smirked and nodded, It would be easy to find something for Seiji to do. Maybe not just the usual patrol job but something challenging that would get him the respect he deserved. Her crimson eyes turned upward as she pondered but she couldn't shake the feeling that Seiji was watching her so intently. She asked if he was okay and he responded.
"Well... Yeah, I am. I'm better then okay, actually. I'm having a great time with my best friend."
She giggled and shook her head lightly brushing a few errant strands of hair from her face.
"Your best friend, Is that so? Well, alright Seiji. Ya know, I can't think of anyone else I would rather spend this time with, thanks for the invite and the gifts."
Honestly Kimiko thought he might say something else, she wasn't completely oblivious and other guys had had 'that look' before.

Seiji looked up to the sky. It was strange. There was something about Kimiko that just drew him to her. Even when they first met. Sure, at first he didn't think they would end up being friends, but look at what happened. She was his closest friend, pretty much the only one he normally hung around, not even people in his own squad did he hang out with. It wasn't really weird, but he did spend almost all of his time around her.
"Your best friend, Is that so? Well, alright Seiji. Ya know, I can't think of anyone else I would rather spend this time with, thanks for the invite and the gifts."
Seiji smiled. It comforted him to hear this. She would rather be there with him rather than anywhere else. He exhaled out of relaxation. It was a really nice night. He looked back over to her, smiling still.
"No, thank you Kimmy. I wronged you and yet here you are, still by my side as my friend... There isn't anything I could really do to repay you, but this is a start."
Seiji stood up and walked over the edge once again. He liked the view of all the trees down there. He could probably find a really comfy one down there, but now wasn't the time. Kimiko would probably get on his case for going to sleep in a tree right now.
A light breeze blew a top the hill. It made this night even better, at least to Seiji. He was starting to wonder how Kimiko felt about him... But should he ask? No, it would be wrong to ask something like that right now. Especially after what had happened a while ago. Wait, how did he feel about her? Seiji never thought about it till now. They had spent a lot of time around one another, and yet they were friends, best friends to Seiji, but were they to Kimiko? Why were all these questions going through his head? Seiji's heart began to race a little bit.
"Why don't you join me over here Kimmy?" Seiji offered his hand out as he stood next to the edge, looking back at her.

"No, thank you Kimmy. I wronged you and yet here you are, still by my side as my friend... There isn't anything I could really do to repay you, but this is a start."
Kimiko watched as Seiji stood up and walked over towards the edge of Sokyoku hill, the light breeze whipping his kimono. Despie a few faults, Seiji really was a good friend and nice guy. Not too sure about his monkey-like habits but they were forgivable. She thought back to when they first came up here together there was another guy,...Tobi, who teased Seiji about being such a ladies man. If memory served she had had to educate the young man on his manners but she was glad things didn't get out of hand. The three talked for a while and stared out across Sereitei admiring the night sky.
"Why don't you join me over here Kimmy?" Seiji's words snapped Kimiko out of her memory and she looked at him curiously before pushing up from the ground to stand.
"What is it Seiji?" She looked at him a bit uncertainly, then smiled as she stood next to him staring out across Seireitei once again. She took his hand and sighed softly.

"What is it Seiji?" She looked at him a bit uncertainly, then smiled as she stood next to him staring out across Seireitei once again. She took his hand and sighed softly.
"Nothing, just thought maybe you'd have a better view from here rather than back there." Seiji smiled back at her.
It had been a long time since they had met... Months... Maybe even a year? Seiji didn't really know, he didn't watch the calendar for any special reason.
"Kimiko... Am I your best friend?" Seiji's question was random, but well thought out on his part. There were many things that he thought about asking, but this one would have to be the start. He would have to take it slow on his questioning, even though he was a curious little monkey.
"Anyway... You remember when I told you I fought a Menos? You looked at me like I was crazy, and you probably still think I'm crazy for saying that." Seiji laughed a bit as he changed the subject.

Seiji smiled back at Kimiko, "Nothing, just thought maybe you'd have a better view from here rather then back there."
Was that really what he wanted to say? Truth told, she felt just a hint of relief. "You're right, the view from here is wonderful."
"Kimiko... Am I your best friend?" Another random question that made Kimiko feel like Seiji was nudging towards something else. She glanced at him with a short chuckle and thoughtful expresion
"Well, I can't think of anyone I spend more time with, so, yes, I would say that you are my best friend."
"Anyway..." Seiji started, Way to change the subject, Seiji. Kimiko thought giving a small roll of her eyes. "You remember when I told you I fought a Menos. You looked at me like I was crazy, and you probably still think I'm crazy for saying that." Seiji gave a slight laugh.
Kimiko frowned just slightly and grasped his hand a little tighter. "It wasn't that, Seiji, Menos are extremely dangerous. I wasn't sure what to think at first so I joked, but if you must know, I was worried about you.
Kimiko lowered and shook her head slightly. "When you said you and a human fought off a menos I was kinda skeptical, but,...it's all pretty much confirmed in the reports, I saw the area, the damage was horrible! Huge footprints left in the ground and evidence of cero blasts in the surrounding terrain."
Her shoulders rose and fell in a light shrug, "Afterward, I felt guilty for not believing you, you totally deserve your promotion. Still can't imagine a human helped though, but if you say so, there's no reason I shouldn't believe you."

"Well, I can't think of anyone I spend more time with, so, yes, I would say that you are my best friend."
After hearing this Seiji smiled. He was happy to hear that he was her best friend. Seiji had to of done something right if she was his best friend. He enjoyed the moments he had around her, even when they sparred, although it seemed someone ended up hurt everytime.
Kimiko frowned just slightly and grasped his hand a little tighter. "It wasn't that, Seiji, Menos are extremely dangerous. I wasn't sure what to think at first so I joked, but if you must know, I was worried about you."
Seiji felt the tighter grasp on his hand. This made Seiji look over at Kimiko and saw her frown. He tilted his head in curiosity. It seemed as though she did kinda care about Seiji, but how much, is what he wondered. Kimiko continued on...
Seiji chuckled slightly. Yeah, that area got pretty messed up during that battle with the menos. But the human, that was the more so unexplained part of the story. There wasn't really any evidence of him being there.
"You know... If it weren't for that human's help, I probably wouldn't be here today. Maybe if I were stronger... Then you wouldn't really have to worry, y'know?" Seiji lowered his head as well. He felt as though he was to weak at times... After the fight with the menos for example, the human, Mikhail, helped him get through it and push back the menos.
"Although... I'm kinda glad you worried about me, heh. It shows that you care." Seiji tightened his grib on her hand a tad bit. He looked back up at Kimiko and smiled.

"You know... If it weren't for that human's help, I probably wouldn't be here today." Seiji started to say, but Kimiko stopped him with a light poke.
"Don't even think that way, Seiji."
"Maybe if I were stronger... Then you wouldn't really have to worry, y'know?"
"You are strong Seiji. Maybe not always here, or here..." She smirked touching his arm and then tapping him on the head. "But here," Kimiko said pointing to Seiji's chest. "You're a titan!" Seiji had a good heart and strong will. He made mistakes, but at least he tried to make things right.
She paused folding her arms and giving a firm nod. "Besides, If you had let that Menos do you in. I'd kick your butt!" Figuratively speaking.
"Although... I'm kinda glad you worried about me, heh. It shows that you care."
"Of course I do, somebody has to look out for you... Leave a pillow out under the trees for when ya fall." The last said with a joking smirk.
