With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.
Paper after paper neatly stacked up high on squad 5's captain's desk. Too small to see behind the towers of papers is Rin Hinote, clearly enjoying her time doing her captain's work. A bored expression plastered on her face, she held her head up with the arm as a stand. Yawning as she looked at a pile of papers, she read the latest news on the missing shinigami and the ones that have just graduated from the academy.
"I can't do this anymore, I feel like I'm going to pass out and die." She heavily sighed and facepalmed herself. "Sake... I need, sake." She said to herself as she rubbed her drowsy eyes. "I guess it's about that time for me to strike again!" Motivating herself with a mischievous plan, she smirked and headed out the door.
She walked around going this and that direction in search for Captain Kyoraku's office. Then there he was, a random shinigami persona that she's never seen or met before. Hmmm, I'm going to need help getting that sake anyways.. soo Rin walked towards the person and reached her hand out as if to grab the person's arm and drag em off. "Hey you! You're coming with me!"
A walk. I good ol' shuffle within the organs of the Seireitei... well maybe not organs. Veins.
Hell, Arashi didn't even know half of the "inner sanctum" of the Soul Society. Forget walking- he was getting lost. Of course, there was no harm in that. He might rub shoulders with someone who knew the way after he got a little too deep. Arashi's gaze stayed on the ground, watching for his steps. He always made it a game to keep from the cracks and step on every island that the crevices made, even at the cost of his balance. At this point, the game stole all of his focus. Oblivious to the outside world-
His expression drew a blank as his hand was pulled from his waist. Someone pulled on him. As he didn't have the proper brace for the moment, Arashi wobbled in the direction this train headed.
"The hell-"
With that, he planted his feet firmly into the planks and attempted wresting his hand from capture. Whoever this was, they had a good grip.
"Hey you! You're coming with me!"
He agreed, feeling his weight follow along. Arashi turned to the stranger with a puzzled look, his words matching his face.
"Would you like to introduce yourself before... uh..."
A girl. How old was she?
"I mean... hellofaway to date eh? I don't get to say no."
Whatever balancing act this guy was doing prior didn't matter anymore. She just dragged him along because she was going to need backup for this one. Or more like, a scapegoat? Rin just kept walking forward in somewhat of a hurry and a serious look on her.
"Would you like to introduce yourself before... uh..." "I mean... hellofaway to date eh? I don't get to say no."
The side of her lip lifted up to show a smirk. "Heh, what's with you guys around here always going on about dates?" It's not that she thought she was unworthy of dating anyone or anything like that, it's just that she wasn't usually interested. It'd have to be one impressive guy to catch her attention. "But, if you really want a date. You'll have to meet two conditions."
"By the way, just think of me as one of your higher ups giving you a mission." She looked back at him when he said that, then gave a wink to intice the fella to do her bidding.
Still dragging him along the various routes of the Seireitei, the two finally came up to the building hiding the most sacred of all treasures. "Now that we're here, this is condition number one. Infiltrate Captain Kyoraku's office and remove the contents hidden in the bottom middle shelf on the left side of the wall when you walk in. But first, tell me your name" she placed her hands on her hips and still smirked, ready to get her plans on their way. The small girl with long dark hair stood straight with authority as she awaited a reply. Her eyes fixated on her captured slave as she looked up, mainly because she was shorter.
"Heh, what's with you guys around here always going on about dates?"
Arashi shrugged at that, biding this trip with a half bored look. He wanted to walk unassisted but it seemed if he even gave the slightest effort, nothing would happen.
"By the way, just think of me as one of your higher ups giving you a mission."
"Just a pass at your ladyship, miss higher-up."
The wink pinked his face a bit, though once he was given his feet again he took a look around with curious eyes. He'd never been this far from his side... well as far as he knew. Where were they?
"Now that we're here, this is condition number one. Infiltrate Captain Kyoraku's office and remove the contents hidden in the bottom middle shelf on the left side of the wall when you walk in. But first, tell me your name."
A Captain's office? Contents? Shelf? Name-
"Uh... Karushi Arai... I mean Arashi Kurai."
He ran an apprehensive hand through his messy hair, brushing up the bangs that began to settle on his forehead. A Captain's office. Heavy exhale. His eyes whirled from his new friend to the office entrance. She seemed pretty sure he was gonna do it. She was stiff.
Was there a two and two to this? Lessee, girl who is a complete stranger brushes more than a shoulder with him, trucks him to a foreign place and asks him to fiddle with some Captain's stuff.
"Uh... I dunno how you kids date nowadays, but I know I like at the very least having the name of my datee."
And where the location is. For how long. Who's buying. First date? Is there any walking home involved?
Arashi took a moment to brush himself off as he awaited a response.
Arashi Kurai, huh? Hmmm.. I hope he goes along. If he doesn't, I'm going to have to choke him with melon bread-
"Uh... I dunno how you kids date nowadays, but I know I like at the very least having the name of my datee."
He interupted Rin's train of thought on whatever back ups she could have. Ughh, fine. I'm Rin Hinote, 3rd seat of 5th squad. Done with your questions? If ya don't hurry, all the glorious goods will be drained!" Moving forward, Rin positioned herself behind Arashi as if to push him towards the door. "C'mon now. This mission would be veryyy rewarding. Go go go!" She tried to encourage him to go in, or more like, tried to force him.
"Ugh, fine. I'm Rin Hinote, 3rd seat of 5th squad. Done with your questions? If ya don't hurry, all the glorious goods will be drained!"
"Well that's a cute name. I'd like some more if you'd let me-"
"Go go go!"
He was being shoved. Rather harshly too. Another off-hand push by this girl. He couldn't push back either- she was too strong and he didn't have the footing.
"H-hey! Look sweetie- I-"
Inside the Captain's office. Shiz. Where was that stuff again?
"...remove the contents hidden in the bottom middle shelf on the left side of the wall when you walk in."
Arashi spun to the left, darted to the shelves, snatched whatever he could from the bottom middle shelf. Then he took a look at his hand, putting a pause on this frenetic air. It was a blank piece of parchment. Not important. He took a knee, shuffled through the columns of loose papers, and found bottles. With a hefty sigh, he lifted all four of the jugs and shot out of the office with a cautious eye side to side, fingers white from holding the heavy containers.
He sized this Rin up from her toes to her forehead, then shook the bottles for effect. Some mission. Why was he screwing with a Captain's things? Hopefully it wasnt anything big. Not like he was new to this stealing thing...
C'mon c'mon she thought impatiently as she looked from side to side for any suspicious witnesses. "Geez, what's taking him so long?" she said impatiently with arms crossed and tapping her foot.
She sighed and just kept watch. Then, a miracle! He actually did it!! Hurray!! She thought in her head as she watched him leave the building. Rin was just so ready to ingest some of that fantastic sake that she couldn't wait and thought about just drinking it there. Problem was, she couldn't do that since she didn't want to be caught. If he did good, Captain Kyoraku will neverrr know.
"The hell is this?"
Rin quickly went up to snatch up the heavy bottles. "This my friend, is the greatest treasure you'll find belonging to Shunsui Kyoraku! Oh boy, look at this baby, I'm so excited to utilize it at its fullest extent! She was practically hugging the goods as if she were utterly in love with them. Her face was smug as she held them tight like as if they were her babies.
With one free hand, she reached her right arm out towards her thieving helper. She moved quickly as if time was running out, and truth be told, time was. Rin went to grab his hand and shake it for the great partnering sake thieving business before she'd turn around and jet. "Thanks for the help! Maybe one day you can meet condition two! Hah!"
She took the bottles. All four of em'. Like she was going somewhere... Of course, other than her apparent jumpiness, she was shaking his hand and dismissing herself like they were to part ways in the next couple of seconds.
"Thanks for the help! Maybe one day you can meet condition two! Hah!"
Yeah, they needed to leave. But...
"Where are you going? I-"
He didn't snatch hidden jugs of... greatest treasure?...
"This my friend, is the greatest treasure you'll find belonging to Shunsui Kyoraku! Oh boy, look at this baby, I'm so excited to utilize it at its fullest extent!"
... Just so she could snog them all by herself.
He didn't know Captain Kyoraku, or of him or anything. Greatest treasure and something worth utilizing to the fullest extent? In bottles? With x's on them?
"So I'm doing your Sake smuggling for you, and you're giving me the slip?"
He gave a dry laugh, looking to the side as he tightened his grip on her hand. Well, trying to pull her close might end up on the bad side. The laugh turned into a sigh as he faced her with a frustrated expression.
"Oh no no no, wait a sec. I got the Sake. There's no way in hell you're leaving without me."
She was third seat... probably for some good reason. But it seemed like she was trying to end the thread in one fell swoop. He couldn't allow that!
"Oh no no no, wait a sec. I got the Sake. There's no way in hell you're leaving without me."
"Whaaa??! Who said this was sake!" Rin's head turned to the side as she told her fib. The smile across her face was a challenge to erase, and if this was a mission she should've taken things more seriously. "And who says I'm leaving without you? It's your fault if you don't follow." She was able to shrug off the fact that she was going to just leave him hanging there.
"Shoot. I'll consider splitting half..."
The bargain made her turn around and she pulled her balled up hand to her face as if she were about to cough. "Splitting half huh? Sounds like a terrible idea, but then again, you are my scapegoat.." She said to herself conspicuously.
Turning back around, she sighed and just gave in. She looked to the side as if she were looking afar. "Ughhh fine. BUT, no half. That'd be just wayyy too much for light weights like youuuu," as she mocked him she turned back to face him. "And sooo, since you're planning to join me. You'll have to meet condition number two!" Rin held up two fingers at the two.
She was something, thinking like she was thinking. He shook his head, listening to her carry on. Madness.
Arashi looked around, surveying their surroundings. He didn't like very much to remain in the same place for too long, especially with a crime committed.
"And who says I'm leaving without you? It's your fault if you don't follow."
"Yeah. I'll follow you after you practically brush me goodbye."
He made an erect pose, crossing his arms and biting his lip. She carried on.
"Splitting half huh? Sounds like a terrible idea, but then again, you are my scapegoat.."
"Ughhh fine. BUT, no half. That'd be just wayyy too much for light weights like youuuu."
He scoffed at that. He can live with being a scapegoat. He waren't no light weight.
"Am I supposed to believe you need all that? That's enough to make me feel happy. I'd hate to see what it'd do to you, dear."
He's had his fair share of drinking days. It was certainly nothing new to him and- unsurprisingly- held to be one of the few things he studied hard on during his days in the academy.
"And sooo, since you're planning to join me. You'll have to meet condition number two!"
But to her last bitsa speech, he put on a curious face, raising a brow and frowning slightly. Ought to be interesting, right? She's quite the trip as it is.
"What's that? Drinking contest?"
He laughed a little, releasing his arms from their cross. The laugh turned into a stretch and the stretch turned into a step forward.
"Gonna need more than that in order to take me down."
