With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.
Thin rays of light pervaded into a small room through the translucent curtains of a hospital room. Two chairs sat near a bed, both had been sat in at one time but never at the same time. Now, at about mid-afternoon, the room was empty save for the patient in the bed. He had been sent there due to exhaustion. They said he had burned twice the calories that day that he had taken in. They thought he simply hadn't eaten and was a flight-risk for anorexia. The doctors didn't know that he had been training in a means that they would most likely never understand.
His brown eyes opened to look out into his hospital room. It hadn't changed since he had just barely fallen asleep. Being in a hospital didn't bode well with his internal clock. Having developed a slight case of insomnia, sleeping was a challenge. None of this was helped by the fact that there were orderlies and nurses running in and out of his room making sure that he wasn't hurting himself. Apparently, they all thought he had some massive form of depression. It kind of pissed him off.
Looking over to the little table beside him, he saw what would be his breakfast/dinner. He had been sleeping for a while. Reaching over, he opened the plate of rice and vegetables. No sushi. Never was there any sushi. With a slight frown on his face, he began to eat his meager meal. He looked around his room and saw that no one was here. That was an odd experience for him, there was typically always a nurse or somebody watching him. They were giving him a psychiatric evaluation tomorrow and he was kind of under surveillance until then.
For Toshioni, his day may have been just starting with him waking up, but it was the weekend and Yue had things to do. On her list was visiting a sick student she had been tutoring after school for some time, A sweet girl, too much stress over the little things, but Yue was sure to make her day. She spent all night making a cake, after the first two exploded in her face, she managed to make a pretty solid cake. Keyword on solid. When her brother tried to take a quick taste, he found that it was like a big rock. Luckily for the girl, Yue's brother managed to find a cake to replace the one Yue made just before she awoke to take it to her.
Now that the native American beauty was in the hospital, she managed to put on a pair of thigh high boots, tanned hide of a deer. She wore her duster jacket and a knee length dress.
She got the information she needed and had gone up the elevator with cake in hand. Sure, some nurses and doctors wanted a slice, but she would not allow it. Even the pervy old man in a robe trying to peek a look under her dress, to which she managed to scare him with a slice through the cane. He didn't even see it coming.
After a while, Yue chatted nonchalantly with her student and shared a piece of 'her' cake. She felt that something was off, as if she could tell that it wasn't the one she made. Oh well, her student is enjoying it and that was the important thing. Once the visit was over with and they made their goodbyes, Yue still had some cake left. She knew the hospital staff would certainly take it from her, so Yue kept the rest.
As she walked done the hall, a feeling came over her. Something familiar was nearby, a sort of desperate, clingy feeling that gave her a feeling of disgust and pity. "I haven't felt this way since..." Yue pondered as she suddenly came to a stop. The strangest thing was that it was right in front of Toshioni's room and she can clearly be seen in the door way.
Toshioni heard a familiar voice nearby. If his hearing was any indication this someone was right outside his room. He thought about the last time he had heard that voice. It filled him with a feeling of shyness and a sense of awkward affection. He remembered wobbly knees and an imminent danger approaching. Wait...he remembered that day. It had been the day Hatter had shown up to school and put them all through hell. But wait, who held that voice then.
Leaning forward, he caught a small glimpse of whoever was standing there. It couldn't be. There was no way that it was really who he thought it was. It was simply too much of a coincidence. Laying back in his hospital bed, he shook his head a bit. Slamming his eyes shut, he tried to clear his mind. Maybe he was so dehydrated and exhausted that he was actually delirious. Finding the reality in it was his only real goal here.
As his eyes opened to the unchanged hospital room, he leaned forward again. She was still there. That meant he was either crazily hallucinating or this was real. With a small shrug, he decided to treat it as if it were both. If he was hallucinating then he really didn't care what happened. If this was real then he needed to at least be polite. After all, there she was standing at his door.
"Kon'nichiwa."
For some reason, that had felt like more than enough. It was enough to tell her that it was him in this room and that he was wide awake. Maybe she'd come in and talk to him for a while to pass the time. Then again, perhaps, knowing it was him, she'd simply leave. Either way, he had given it a good old college try.
She heard the voice, a very annoying familiar voice that would have sent chills down a less controlled person's spine. Yue looked into the room and saw Toshioni, the one who stalked her on occasion, and just stared at him for a moment. Thinking, that is what she was doing. On one hand she could go visit the future peeping tom to figure out whether he was alright or not. Option B would to leave now and break the guys heart.
Boy, option B is so tempting but she was not that cruel. Besides that, she still had some cake left and she wasn't going to eat something she hadn't made. Yue started to walk toward the room, her placid face still not showing any interest in him or whatever his condition was. "Hey, what are you doing here, pretending to be sick to draw nurses?" A likely scenario for him, but she didn't know him that well.
She found a seat, not too close but close enough to be able to talk to him without raising her voice. As she sat down, Yue made sure he didn't get any glimpses at her butt or any else he might enjoy in a drawing later.
It was kinda sad, it looked like he was all alone with no one here to talk to. Did he have any friends at all?
"Hey, what are you doing here, pretending to be sick to draw nurses?"
Toshioni chuckled a bit but that tuckered him out more than he would've liked. Over-exhaustion was a thing; it was plaguing him currently. He couldn't do too much or he would probably pass out from it. However, he had company now. He figured that he had to at least make conversation. After all, this was "her". He didn't even know her name but she haunted his thoughts. This could be his chance.
He had to respond to this. But how would he do it? It was quite the predicament. He didn't want to sound stupid or two forward. However, he didn't want to come on too weak. That wasn't typically his problem, but he was actually worrying about it now. She made him nervous; he wasn't used to that. In hindsight, it wasn't worth getting all that worked up over. However, he took a few deep breaths before responding.
"Oh, you know me. I got over exhausted from hitting on too many girls after midnight. The nurses were just a happy accident."
He flashed a small smile before looking out his window. It was pretty outside. It just kind of sucked that he had to sit in a bed all day instead of being out and about doing Toshioni things.
