With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.
There she was, minding her own business, when there was a noise... then something hit her, sending her flying... It continues from there till she is laying... dying... Then, there was a pull at her chest, then black. It had seemed like this blackness lasted for years, or even longer, until her eyes opened.
Slowly looking through the room, Mizuki saw a card sitting on the table. It was a get well card from her parents. Wait... What was she just dreaming about? She closed her eyes to try and remember, and could only picture one thing... Neko.
Why was this the last thing she remembered from that night? Wait, how much time had passed?! Mizuki looked at the card closer, as she knew her parents normally dated them. It would seem that it had been four days since the "accident". It was reported as a hit and run, even though that was not the case.
Mizuki sat up a little bit. It hurt to even sit up! Along with that her arm was wrapped up, and she could feel pain in her abdomen. A whimper came out of Mizuki, as she didn't want to show that it was hurting that much. Just then a nurse walked in.
"Oh! You're awake. This is good, your mother is here on her daily check." The nurse quickly turned around and walked out, getting both the doctor and her mother. Her mother was told to stay quiet for a moment as the doctor wanted to talk with Mizuki.
"Ok, Miss O'Brien, you were in a hit and run accident a few days ago, and this is the first time you've been conscious, so I will let you know what you have, and preform a few tests to see if you can be up out of bed. First, you have a ruptured spleen, broken arm, and two herniated disks of the lower lumbar. Now, you will be fine, although it will take some time for you to be up and at it again. Now then..." The doctor went on and preformed the tests.
"So, we will have to keep her here for a few more days Misses O'Brien." The doctor spoke and left the room.
Mizuki's mother was all teary eyed and happy. She began to shout without realizing it. Not only that but the door was wide open, letting her mother be heard throughout the floor, more specifically, the room right across from Mizuki's, containing our little cat friend.
Opening his eyes, Neko saw that he was in a hospital bed. However, unlike Mizuki, he hadn't had any parent visit him. That didn't really bother him. He knew his father wouldn't come into town for something so dumb as him going to the hospital. He would pay the bill; that'd be that. However, he didn't really know what he was in the hospital for. That might be important.
Almost as if by accident, a male nurse came in and began to look at his charts before offering him a smile. He looked around the hospital room before Neko thought of asking him what was up.
"What the hell am I in here for?"
"Oh, well buddy, you passed out in the middle of the street from extensive exhaustion and in the fall you broke one of your arms. You're pretty banged up."
Neko pressed his teeth together. A broken arm meant that he couldn't tag for at least a couple weeks. Fucking shit! That fucking sucked.
"Shit."
With that, the male nurse offered another smile before leaving. Neko threw himself back onto his hospital bed and sighing. This would be a hard few days. However, it was about to get harder. He heard a voice that he had heard before from the room next to his. It was Mizuki's voice and her mother's. FUCK! He wouldn't stand for this. Not at all. Getting out of bed he hobbled over to the exit of his room and over to the room next to his. He popped his head in to see that red-headed bitch.
This scarred the two in the room, hell, anyone near that room! It was sudden and uncalled for, and Mizuki would deal with it later. Her mother, on the other hand, would deal with it right now.
"The mouth on kids these days! Where you raised by sailors?" She turned from the boy to Mizuki. "Well honey, I have to be going. Your father will be by later to check in on you. I love you~" Her mother proceeded to hug her, give her a kiss on the cheek then walk past the boy, leaving the room.
Mizuki scowled at Neko for a moment. She couldn't keep that scowl for long as she remembered the last thing she saw after that accident... Him. This softened her facial expression and she let out a soft sigh.
"Well, at least you said please this time. Normally, you wouldn't even say that, it would just be 'Shut the fuck up' period." Mizuki laughed slightly then winced a bit from her abdomen hurting.
Sitting up slowly, Mizuki winced some more. It hurt, a lot! Well, maybe it was just her, or the fact that she hadn't gotten that roughed up ever! Mizuki attempted to stand up so she could walk over to Neko, but for some reason, she couldn't. Probably from the injuries, but either way she would have to eventually.
"Neko... Th... Thank you..." Mizuki's voice was soft, but still well heard. She started to tear up as she thanked the "hero" who had saved her.
It was pretty amazing that he hadn't stormed off yet or even yelled violently, besides when he entered the room earlier. Mizuki was somewhat impressed by it, seeing as how the last time they talked he was hell bent on destroying her night. Either way they were gonna talk, even if it was forced. Even if they weren't really going to talk right now, they would run into each other in the future, and talk then.
"The mouth on kids these days! Where you raised by sailors?"
Grinding his teeth together, Neko felt veins begin to pop in his forehead. Who was this bitch to tell him that his words were bad? Who the fuck was she? That was what it was, she was a woman. Women were always acting so high and mighty when it came to stupid shit like talking and acting. They needed to be taught a lesson. Every damn one of them. And Neko would teach this one her lesson, he would tell her exactly who raised him.
"I wasn't raised by anyone well because women like you get up and fucking jump ship on their goddamn kids. Cuz you're all fucking garbage when it comes down to it. So don't stand there like you're better than me bitch, cuz you're not."
With that out of the way, the woman, Mizuki's mother, left the room. He stood there in a quiet anger as she did so. He was almost happy when she left the room. Mizuki he could almost bear; that bitch he could not. It was kind of funny actually; after what had happened last night, he had gotten back at Mizuki for everything. Kissing him and sleeping with him was behind him after that spurt of yelling. That, and the fact that he had hit his head pretty hard worked wonders together.
"Well, at least you said please this time. Normally, you wouldn't even say that, it would just be 'Shut the fuck up' period."
Neko didn't say anything to her about this. She was being nice to him? It must be some kind of act from her. Women weren't nice, but, then again, Mizuki wasn't exactly a woman yet. Maybe she was really nice, like Yuki had been. No, that wasn't right. She was evil and mean. All good girls died with Yuki.
"Yeah yeah, what the fuck ever."
"Neko... Th... Thank you..."
He knew why she was thanking him. He actually remembered what went on when he was in cat form. Remembering that he had killed a hollow that had been hurting Mizuki. He didn't exactly do it for Mizuki, but it still happened. He didn't want to talk about the fact that he had in any way helped that bitch. As such, he would dodge this question readily.
"I wasn't raised by anyone well because women like you get up and fucking jump ship on their goddamn kids. Cuz you're all fucking garbage when it comes down to it. So don't stand there like you're better than me bitch, cuz you're not."
Before Mizuki's mom could leave the room all the way, Neko retorted, and it just was not the best of times. She stopped at the door and turned to glare at the boy.
"Jump ship? If I had jumped ship I wouldn't be here right now for my daughter now would I? As for being 'better' than you, I never said that, boy. Actually, it's called manners, and its apparent that you lack these."
Mizuki kinda knew how Neko would react, but before he could get another word in on her, she was gone. Mizuki sighed. She knew she was going to be getting the shit end of the stick on this one, who else would he take his anger out on? Maybe he wouldn't be so bad... MAYBE.
"Yeah yeah, what the fuck ever."
It seemed like Neko was a bit confused as he made his late reply. Maybe he didn't know what to say, or even why she was being "nice". Though she was raised to be polite when someone did something for you. Or maybe he was just trying to avoid talking to Mizuki.
"There is something more to you Neko-kun." Mizuki gave a vibrant smile to go with her words.
"Don't fucking mention it. Ever. Kay? Kay."
"Uhh... Okay?"
Mizuki was confused by this, as question marks appeared above her head. It was as if he didn't want anything to do with her... Oh, right, he doesn't want anything to do with her, ever. Somehow, that wouldn't happen.
"Before we dismiss it completely, I have to ask... Why did you save me?"
"Jump ship? If I had jumped ship I wouldn't be here right now for my daughter now would I? As for being 'better' than you, I never said that, boy. Actually, it's called manners, and its apparent that you lack these."
Biting his lip, Neko was beginning to see red a bit. He was actually trembling with a quiet fury at this. What was this bitch's problem? Who the fuck was she to stand there and lecture him about anything? She was no one. That bitch was fucking no one and he'd tell her that the next time he saw her. He was looking forward to it. But for now, for now he was angry and that had to go somewhere. It would go out.
"Goddamnit, what the fuck is her problem? I mean, SHIT."
That would be all that he would say. He couldn't take that one out on just anybody. It would have to be her that he took it out on. As soon as he saw Mizuki's bitch of a mother again. She would know what the truth was.
"There is something more to you Neko-kun."
Breathing out sharply, he looked at Mizuki before turning up his nose at her. She didn't get to say how much there was to him. That was for him to decide and it wouldn't be in front of people like Mizuki either. It would be by himself, tagging like he liked to do. He refused to talk about who he was in front of her. He would let that uppity little bitch what was what.
"Yeah yeah, shut the fuck up Mizuki."
"Before we dismiss it completely, I have to ask... Why did you save me?"
Neko just stood there for a second before sitting down. He was not sitting particularly near Mizuki or anything else in the room. He just sat there on the floor, thinking. Why had he saved her? He didn't have control over the cat that time. But wait, he usually had control over himself when he was like that. Shit, what the fuck was up? Had he wanted to save her? No, the cat wanted a fight. Yeah, that was it. The cat just wanted to kill that goddamn hollow.
"I couldn't control the cat cuz I was so pissed from you fucking hitting me. So the cat heard the hollow and wanted a goddamn fight. You had nothing to do with it."
"Goddamnit, what the fuck is her problem? I mean, SHIT."
Mizuki laughed slightly. She knew he would overreact on that one, but he could of made it a lot worse, good thing he didn't, or maybe that was just cuz her mother had left before he could reply to her. Well, Mizuki thought she would semi-agree with him.
"Well, y'know... uhh... Parents. Yeesh." Mizuki shrugged slightly. She knew there was no reasoning with him on certain topics.
Mizuki shouldn't have said that, but she knew it was true, and he probably knew even better! Then again, she didn't really know who Neko really was, or what he had been through, but it was apparent that it had affected him significantly. Speaking of which...
"Yeah yeah, shut the fuck up Mizuki."
Figures. He went back to the same ol' Neko that Mizuki had grown to like. Though Neko made it clear that he was not interested in girls. Why was he like that? Mizuki would have to pry further to get it out of him. Right now was not that time.
"Heh, did I hit your nerve kitty?" Mizuki decided to mess with him a little and play off the fact that he was telling her to shut up.
"I couldn't control the cat cuz I was so pissed from you fucking hitting me. So the cat heard the hollow and wanted a goddamn fight. You had nothing to do with it."
Now that made a bit more sense. He didn't particularly like Mizuki, or so she thought. No, he didn't it was obvious, but maybe in time he would. Mizuki would have to test this theory.
"That cat thing... Was you? What is it exactly?"
Mizuki started to stand up again. She wanted to go sit next to Neko. She wanted to get to know him better, maybe he would open up to her... As crazy and unlikely as it sounds, it sure as hell was possible. Mizuki placed her non-injured hand against the wall as she slowly walked over to Neko. She leaned against the wall and slid down it till she was sitting on the floor.
"Neko... What's with you? I tried being nice to you and you get mad, I try being mean to you and you get even worse, and when ever I go around you, you always get pissed at me... What did I do to you that was so horrible?" Mizuki stared at the ground as she spoke.
Neko looked out the window as he breathed out as heavily as he could. She was really getting on his goddamn nerves all the goddamn time. He had thought about just being neutral to her, but she had to be a witty little bitch didn't she? He didn't know why he was even putting up with it now. His fucking arm hurt and he didn't need any of this shit. It was...DAMN IT!
"Fuck off Mizuki."
"That cat thing... Was you? What is it exactly?"
Letting out a sigh, the angsty teen looked up at Mizuki with a stupid look on his face. Did she not understand Japanese? Was she really that dumb? Had he not just said that he was the cat? Actually, he hadn't, but that wasn't the point. She was dumb; most women were.
"Yes dumbass. I know you're slow, but try and keep up."
"Neko... What's with you? I tried being nice to you and you get mad, I try being mean to you and you get even worse, and when ever I go around you, you always get pissed at me... What did I do to you that was so horrible?"
Neko scooted away from her as she had sat down on the ground near him. He didn't want to be close to her. The last time he had been, she had done horrible things to him. She was a woman and they were typically so evil. He wouldn't give her the chance to do anything like that to him again. Then, she went on to ask why he didn't like being around her and why he got all pissed. Wasn't that fucking clear? He just didn't like her. He didn't need a reason; all women were bad. That was all the goddamn reason he needed. And he would fucking tell her that. He would tell her that right fucking now.
"I don't need a goddamn reason to get pissed at you. It's bad enough you're a fucking woman, and they're evil anyway. Then you go and be a bitch to me when I first meet you. You infected me with your sickness by kissing me. And then you fucking laid up next to me. What the fuck is your goddamn problem?"
This made Mizuki giggle. Sure he was being completely serious, but then again, when wasn't he? It was easier to see it as some sort of joke, and even if it wasn't Mizuki would still continue on. She couldn't hate this teen boy, not one bit!
"Ok, ok! I will stop teasing you... For now." Mizuki smirked as she made her little comment.
Even when Mizuki liked joking around, it was less often, and even now, it would be even less! Especially around Neko. He was weird, and didn't like girls, which was even worse in Mizuki's case.
"Yes dumbass. I know you're slow, but try and keep up."
Mizuki smiled and raised her uninjured arm up. "I will try my very best Neko-kun!"
Though Mizuki and Neko had their differences, Mizuki knew that they could get along... Eventually. How long would this take? Who knew! Either way, Mizuki would try to get close to the enigma known as Neko.
Well, now that that's out of the way, Mizuki would have to figure out why, and if he would ever be able to not think that way. It was probably impossible, but Mizuki would try.
"All women are evil... I don't think you have any way to prove that all women are really evil. I've never actually been a bitch, I just like to joke around." Mizuki looked up at the ceiling for a moment. "As for 'infecting' you, I did that cuz I kinda like you, even if you can't like women, even if you hate me... I laid next to you cuz it was my bed also..." Mizuki paused for a moment as if thinking about an answer to his question.
"I didn't have a problem with you... You have one deep down, that maybe you are trying to reach out and get help, then again, that doesn't sound like you."
Neko felt his face get hot. What was her problem? Did she fucking get off on pissing him off? It was stupid and it made him even more pissed. Everything she did just pissed him off. It was crazy that he could get so fucking pissed off over her just being a bitch like all women were. It was just...dammit.
"You suck."
"I will try my very best Neko-kun!"
"Yeah, yeah, you fucking better."
"All women are evil... I don't think you have any way to prove that all women are really evil. I've never actually been a bitch, I just like to joke around."
At this, Neko scooted ever further away from her and felt himself tingle with rage. She liked to joke around? Well her jokes wren't fucking funny at all. He hated them and he hated her. No, did he really hate her? Yeah, he really fucking did. But did he really? Shit, no, NO! He hated her and he wanted her to fucking know this. But not quite yet.
"Your jokes aren't fucking funny Mizuki. I hate them and you should really know that."
"As for 'infecting' you, I did that cuz I kinda like you, even if you can't like women, even if you hate me... I laid next to you cuz it was my bed also..."
Neko stood up and began to pace the room. She fucking 'liked' him now. When did this fucking start? Goddamn, he hated her. He hated her so fucking much. But, it was a different hate. Everything she did pissed him off and he didn't know why. FUCK!! Why was it like this?
"No...no! Fucking no!"
"I didn't have a problem with you... You have one deep down, that maybe you are trying to reach out and get help, then again, that doesn't sound like you."
"I don't have any fucking problems! You hear me? I don't have anything wrong with me. You're the infected one! It's you."
