With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.
As the girl began to walk towards her, Yugito couldn't help but feel excited. She hadn't fought anyone in a while, and she certainly wouldn't mind giving this strange girl a beatdown. She was confident that whoever this girl was, she wasn't getting away easily. She punched Makana-sensei in the face, for god's sake! She totally could have taken this her on.
But, as spontaneously as it started, it was cut short, as the girl pulled out a sleek cellphone from her pocket. Yugito stared at the device as the other girl talked to it. What the...she had never seen anything so...new in her life! She prided herself as having the newest and latest technology, but this girl...what the hell did she have in her hand! The sleek iPhone in her pocket suddenly felt unbelievably stone age.
"Look, the deal is simple enough even boonies like you guys can figure it out."
Yugito gave the girl a strange look. Boonies?
"Two chimes are sent out at the beginning of the day. One for ten minute warning, another for being late. You two may be new, but that's not an excuse for ignorance."
Wait. Hold up. NEW?
"New!? What the hell are you talking about!? I've been here for two and a half years!" she said, and then pointing to Mikhail, "And he's always getting into damn fights, so everyone knows him! We're not new and there's only one bell in the morning!"
However, before Yugito could add anything more, the girl picked her up suddenly, throwing her over the shoulder, as if she was being kidnapped. Yugito let out an "eep", kicking her legs and flailing her arms in punches.
"Let me down, you crazy bitch!" Yugito screamed, hoping that her skirt would keep her modesty in one piece, "Damn you, let me down!"
"I may not be allowed to get in a fight today, but I'm sure as hell going to take you guys to the office."
Hold on, the office? Yes! Finally! Certainly the principal or some administrative staff would recognize her and Mikhail. She had been sent to the office a few times for beating up a few freshmen, and Mikhail, well, he was Mikhail.
"Good job, Yugito, you're being sent to the office by a crazy bitch from another school," she mumbled to herself, "And you're late for history. Makana-sensei is going to kill you."

Something was about to go down, and while Mikhail didn't much care to fight girls it didn't mean he wouldn't defend himself. At the moment, however, Yugito seemed ready to have at this new girl, at least until her phone rang. Whatever Riza pulled out of her pocket was ringing like a phone but Mikhail had never seen anything like it. She started talking to her mother on the phone thing and the brawl was put on hold. She started scratching her head.
"Look, the deal is simple enough even boonies like you guys can figure it out. Two chimes are sent out at the beginning of the day. One for ten minute warning, another for being late. You two may be new, but that's not an excuse for ignorance."
Mikhail rolled his eyes and a sweat drop appeared beside his head at the peace sign she presented before her explaination. He was about to explain that he was anything but new but Yugito had that covered! He raised one hand to speak but was ignored once more.
"New!? What the hell are you talking about!? I've been here for two and a half years! And he's always getting into damn fights, so everyone knows him! We're not new and there's only one bell in the morning!"
Yugito pointed at Mikhail for emphasis in explaining, who rubbed his own head in being pointed out as a trouble maker,...wonderful. In the moment of confusion the tall girl grabbed up Yugito and threw her over her shoulder.
"Hey!" Mikhail's voice ineffectual as it seemed to be was drowned out as Yugito screamed.
"Eeep! Let me down you crazy bitch! Damn you let me down!"
"I may not be allowed to get in a fight today, but I'm sure as hell going to take you guys to the office."
The tall girl made a point to cover the view from behind as she started off with Yugito. Mikhail sighed and rolled his eyes again, then followed along quietly. Like Yugito he figured maybe the staff would recognize them and put this crazy girl in her place. No matter how official and snazzy looking the class monitor sash it was pretty nuts of this girl not to know who they were. Yugito was mumbling and Mikhail just kinda followed along behind with this dumb smile watching her get carried away, even from this angle she was cute!

She ignored comments as of now, the Principal will deal with them shortly. As she carried the squirming chick in the school, all the new things were seen.
The halls were painted a new color, the doors didn't have knobs, and was that a TV screen where the trophies used to be. Yeah, things were different and futuristic. Riza, wicked minded, 'adjusted' Yugito on her shoulder by having her bounce up and down just for fun.
When she reached the office, the door slid sideways like a star trek episode and Riza entered with the two brats. The Secretary, behind her owl glasses looked up at the guest and sighed. "Riza, why must you handle students like that?" She asked, not knowing who the two were or caring by her sarcastic tone. She was not the same Secretary the couple knew, but surely the Principal is the same...right?
Riza dropped Yugito in a chair, a comfortable chair mind you, and went back to fill out some paper work for her capture. "Found these two new-boonies outside the gates, probably nervous or something stupid like that..." Riza trailed off knowing that she wasn't caring, finished the paper work, and was about to leave.
"You're needed at the south corridor, Hiro called in sick." Giving Riza her next assignment. Riza left by pulling her eye down and sticking her tongue out at Yugito, just for laughs.
"The Principal will see you in a minute." Sarcastic as usual, she just went to file Riza's paperwork.
Yugito frowned as the girl continued to carry her into the school. Well, at least she didn't have to walk to the office. Actually, she was still feeling a bit dizzy from the weird box shenanigans, so having someone carrying her was a bit of relie-
"OW, ow, OW, WHAT THE HELL!?" she called out as the girl unceremoniously adjusted her position over her shoulder with a few large bounces as they entered the school. That was the last thing Yugito said on the journey to the office.
Everything was different. Were they still in Karakura High School? This definitely wasn't Karakura High School. She was sure the hallways were painted pale gray. And the doors had doorknobs with smaller windows on them. And they didn't move by themselves. And there was a trophy stand by that door. What happened to the trophy stand!?
Her jaw dropped as she looked at Mikhail, meeting his eyes. Was this really happening? Where the hell were they?
They entered the office, where the girl finally dropped her into a rather comfortable seat (which, Yugito specifically remembered, wasn't there on Friday). The girl, Riza, she heard, was talking to the secretary who, like the chair she was sitting on, was not a part of this school last week. Hell, everything in this school wasn't here last week.
Riza left the office, without giving Yugito a face, which she was more than happy to return.
"The Principal will see you in a minute."
Well. The old secretary was much nicer, that much was certain.
Yugito placed her head in her hands, leaning forward from her seat.
"I'm so confused. This can't be our school..." she mumbled, although she was directing it at Mikhail, if he heard.

Entering the school felt like stepping into a different world, everything was newer, moved on its own, painted, or shown on a panel TV instead of behind a glass case.
"What the hell?" Mikhail looked around skeptically as they stepped into the main hall. This was a dream, and any minute now Yugito and this random girl that he probably saw on the street at some point were gonna... Riza started bouncing Yugito with each step, and Mikhail arched a brow... oh okay, dream is going this way now... Mikhail really couldn't complain about the view, Yugito was adorable, she had a little frown on her face and he couldn't help but think about their kiss.
They entered the office and Mikhail sighed having to come back to reality, he shook his head with an exasperated sigh and glanced around.
"Found these two new-boonies outside the gates, probably nervous or something stupid like that..." Mikhail ignored the tall girl's comments because she was just starting to get annoying now.
"The Principal will see you in a minute."
Yugito leaned forward putting her head in her hands, she looked so confused and upset.
"I'm so confused. This can't be our school..."
He smiled and stooped down beside the chair.
"Everything'll be alright. Maybe,..." and this was a BIG maybe, "...maybe they updated everything over the weekend." Okay that was a stretch but he was trying to comfort Yugito.
He looked at the little name plaque on the secretaries desk and arched an eyebrow wondering what happened to the other secretary, but that suddenly made him wonder if the name on the principal's door had changed and he looked over to find out...

The door opened, possibly before Mikhail couldn't even see the name. A woman stood in the doorway. Short, skrawny, with graying hair, thick-framed glasses and an entirely informal dress, the woman very vaguely resembled--
"Yugito? Mikeiru?" she whispered, bringing a hand to her lips. Her sleeve fell, revealing a small bracelet with her flower-like cross. It was Makana. "Oh...my..."
She lunged at the two, arms spread wide and a smile plastered onto her face. Her arms closed in a vice-like grip. Hell hath no fury like a Makana's bear hug. "You two! It's been so long--I, I thought you two were dead, and I had this crazy idea that it might have been my fault! Roi-kun...oh...well, the important thing is--"
Makana paused, stepping back, and walking into her office. She gestured with a bony hand for them to follow.
The office was colorful, to say the least. Bright banners of baseball teams adourned the walls, and portraits of famous historical figures--Ghandi, Einstein, Musashi Miyamoto--neatly gathered just beside the doorway. Perhaps Makana had been promoted, but her interests had remained. She was a historian at heart.
But time had clearly taken its toll on the woman. She had her share of laugh lines and crows feet, along with bags under her eyes. As she stepped into her office, with her old clumsy gait, she looked over her shoulder. "You know, you two are at least seventeen years late for class? I'm not sure what to do with you. I could give you a detention, but...but for seventeen years..."
She took a seat behind her desk, leaning on it in exasperation. She grinned. "What do you two think?
Yugito looked up and instantly stood from the chair. Finally, a voice that sounded...familiar?
"Makana-sense...." she trailed off, her eyes growing wide.
"Oh...my..."
...who was this person and what did they do to Makana-sensei?
She...she was so thin! And her hair wasn't blue or a random colour from the rainbow! And glasses? What the hell?
As she was about to open her mouth to say something, Makana wrapped her arms around both her and Mikhail in what probably was the tightest bearhug Yugito had ever felt in her life.
"You two! It's been so long--I, I thought you two were dead, and I had this crazy idea that it might have been my fault! Roi-kun...oh...well, the important thing is--"
"Ribs...cracking...!!" Yugito coughed out, flailing her arms rather comedically in reaction to the hug, "Lungs...!!"
Makana finally released them from the bearhug of death, and Yugito bent over, hands on her knees, catching her breath before following Makana into her office, looking at Mikhail in confusion.
"You know, you two are at least seventeen years late for class? I'm not sure what to do with you. I could give you a detention, but...but for seventeen years..." Makana-sensei said as Yugito looked around the office. Historical figures on the wall? Yup, she definitely was Makana-sensei. And giving them detention for missing class for---
"Seventeen years!?!?" Yugito choked out, "But...that can't be! We just saw Dylandy-sensei this morning and and..."
She paused, taking a close look at her (former?) history teacher.

Just as Mikhail looked over to read the name on the principals door, it opened and there stood an older woman. She was short and had greying hair but looked vaguely familiar.
"Yugito? Mikeiru? Oh...my..."
Mikhail rolled his eyes at the mispronounciation of his name, only one person continued to do so unashamedly and as the realization hit him he did a double take. Hazel eyes widening and his mouth hanging open in wonder.
"S,..Sensei?"
The little woman lunged forward and wrapped the two up in a super tight hug! Poor Mikhail and Yugito, squeezed like small plushie toys in the grip of an adoring child.
"Ribs...cracking...!! Lungs...!!" Squeeky sounds came up from the two who afterward had to gasp for air.
"you two! It's been so long--I, I thought you two were dead, and I had this crazy idea what it might have been my fault! Roi-kun...oh...well, the important thing is--"
Makana spoke so fast that it took a moment for Mikhail to gather his thoughts. He reached up to rub his head and fix his slightly messy brown hair as he asked
"Hold on, why would you think we were dead and what happened to you?"
Makana had already stepped back and gestured them into her office. Luckily, she covered his question with her next words as she glanced over her shoulder.
"You know, you two are at least seventeen years late for class? I'm not sure what to do with you. I could give you a detention, but...but for seventeen years...What do you two think?"
She sat down in the chair behind her desk and looked over at the two with a grin. Almost as one the couple blurted out with surprise,
Then Yugito continued, "But...that can't be! We just saw Dylandy-sensei this morning and and..."
"...and he was being nibby." Mikhail finished for Yugito, he hadn't really intended on anyone overhearing him asking out Yugito again after their first big date which of course Dylandy-sensei had set up.
Mikhail was surprised at Yugito's next comment, if Mikhail knew anything from talking to his grandma you didn't mention a ladies age, but she did it anyway.
"Sensei...you're so old..."
Mikhail looked at her incredulously, while it was something he thought he didn't think Yugito would say it.

”It’s not what happened to me, Mikeiru,” Makana murmured, turning to her computer screen. She started to flip through her emails, looking for the last thing she had heard of them. ”You two vanished. I was worried that maybe you got in over your heads with a hollow, but I hadn’t sensed you two at all. No one knew what happened, but I was one of the last people to talk to you, Yugito. A few people thought I might have known, but…my best guess was…wrong, I guess.”
She laughed a breathless laugh, smiled a mirthless smile. She looked up at the two again. ”I’m still not sure what happened. You two are alive…and you haven’t aged a day.”
There was a brief moment of quiet, and Makana turned back to her computer. A few files, a few letters she had sent. She wondered, briefly, if Yugito’s mother—was that her mother?—still used her old email address. And would it be right to send that email? ‘Your daughter’s alive.’ How would that go? No, she closed the page and folded her hands, leaning forward on the desk.
”Sensei…you’re so old.”
Mikhail recoiled at this, but Makana grinned, running a hand through her hair. She laughed. ”Had to grow up sometime, didn’t I now? Of course, I say ‘grow up’ in the loosest sense…you should hear some of my students—Riza even! You know, someone once told me I had a ‘Benja-men Buh-tan’ comlex. Do you know what that means?”
Character List "Let's eat, Grandma!" "Let's eat Grandma!" Commas save lives.
”You two vanished. I was worried that maybe you got in over your heads with a hollow, but I hadn’t sensed you two at all. No one knew what happened, but I was one of the last people to talk to you, Yugito. A few people thought I might have known, but…my best guess was…wrong, I guess.”
"I...don't feel like we've disappeared. I pushed that button on the boob-box this morning and some weird things started to happen, and now we're here and you're old." Yugito paused, thinking. "...uh, would it sound crazy if that boob-box was some sort of, um, I don't know, time-travelling thing? Because it's the only thing I can think of that would make sense right now..."
Yugito furrowed her brows. Everything was so weird, and now that she had gotten past her initial shock that A, they were seventeen years in the future and B, that Makana-sensei was now the principal of Karakura High, her brain began to process their situation. If they really were seventeen years in the future, then that means anyone from their class would be in their...thirties? Oh God, they were old now[/s]. Her mother would be...well, she was 43 this morning, so that would mean she was...SIXTY. Her mother was sixty years old!
"Sensei!" Yugito said, running up to the desk and almost slamming her hands on it, "Sensei, what happened to my mom? Is...is she still alive?" she asked. "She's...she's still alive, right?"
Realizing what she had done, Yugito took a deep breath and stepped back, rubbing the back of her head, "...sorry..."
”Had to grow up sometime, didn’t I now? Of course, I say ‘grow up’ in the loosest sense…you should hear some of my students—Riza even! You know, someone once told me I had a ‘Benja-men Buh-tan’ comlex. Do you know what that means?”
"Riza? That crazy girl that called us new-boonies." She scratched her head, "She's pushy. Kinda like you, sensei."
