It had become apparent that this man did not know how to handle his liquor. Azumi's time with Yumiko had taught her how to control her intake, taking her longer to get drunk from it. Maybe she could teach Izaya a thing or two.. Or she could just let him make a fool of himself. That could be fun. Though it might reminder her of her friend, but hey, gotta have fun to help heal, right?
He had been in the third for near a decade. That was fairly impressive. It had seemed that Yumiko had been there for about 5 years, though Azumi wasn't keeping track. Azumi had been in the Gotei 13 for roughly 12 years. She had lost count, and she never stayed too long with one squad. "I see. I've only been in the Gotei 13 about two years longer than you... Not to surprising that I haven't actually seen you around until now." Azumi's last comment wasn't directed at Izaya, but more of just a statement to herself.
Izaya's words had truth in them, but Azumi still didn't like it. She didn't like how Yumiko was treated. It was one of her best friends, well, her only best friend at this point. Azumi's eyes went down, looking at her cup for more than a moment. "I understand that... But I think she deserves to be treated better by her friend." Azumi's words were harsh at this point. From what Yumiko had mentioned about Izaya, they were friends. He probably had different views, or thought that his spot as third seat was more important than a friend. "Even if she did get hurt, she would survive. That's what she does. And having someone with you, just to watch your back, that's something that could save your life.."
Azumi finished her drink, and pushed her cup forward for another pour. After getting it, she quickly downed it, trying to get out of the slight funk she had fallen into when the subject of Yumiko and friendship came up. She couldn't help how she felt. "It was the color that stood out. I had followed my target into the shop where it was..."
She began to feel the alcohol, but she would be able to control herself. While she sat and thought about how the world of the living had changed. She wasn't completely sure, and she was more focused on her target than the things around her. She hadn't taken the time to fully accept the ways of the human. With a slight shrug, Azumi spoke up finally. "I didn't pay enough attention to those things... And if you're curious... Why don't you go spend some time there? Then you can figure it out!" Azumi threw a light smile in after her statement.
