With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.
Tsugaru had gotten up extremely early that morning from the sheer fact that he could barely sleep. Today he would be training with the soul reapers and that fact alone had gotten him up at four in the morning even when he only needed to be there at six. As he arrived he planted his zanpakuto in the ground beside him and began to stretch out. As he pulled on the various muscles on his body many thoughts went through his head. He wondered who else he would meet that morning, who would be teaching the class and if he would have to put up with getting stomped by Aoide again. Shibatsu seemed to have some claim on his current thoughts and barged right in to his mind.
That girl was waaay out of you league, cub. Just focus on training each and every day, then we will start to think about other goals.
He tried his best to ignore her as he entered a clear state of mind and started to focus only on training. Maybe even Captain Zaraki would show up and teach him something, knowledge like that was priceless. Tsugaru had heard rumors that even piercing Kenpachi’s flesh was neigh impossible. He had also heard that Kenpachi couldn’t even take his sword into the Bankai or seal it back from the Shikai stage and it was a requirement for most captains to do so… which must’ve meant that Kenpachi held a strength that was near unfathomable.
He cracked his neck and his fingers then sat on the ground to stretch out some more. I never even crossed his mind that he would have to endure some hellish training at the hands of one of the 11th higher-ups. He would put himslef through acid and broken glass to make his new squad proud. Of course, if Kenpachi wasn't around he could screw off and not hold back.

He sat on the edge of the training grounds, simply lost in the thought. It was easy, watching members of his division sweat and train, preparing to go to the field and do something worthy, but not something he liked to do.
He would rather be out there, fighting, slicing and killing things. He would rather have his blood lust sated as he fought through tough and fun battles. Like Ichigo's...
Hmm... maybe it would soon be time to visit the boy.
Kenpachi Zaraki raised an eyebrow when the new kid walked into the room, immediately recognizing him as the over-mannered boy from the other day.
"Yo, kid." He called out to the stretching boy, gesturing him over. "Tsugaru, right?"
Ikkaku pushed the cloth door aside. His bald head shined from the outside sun. Ikkaku walked into the room slowly with his hands behind his head. He went to a tree. Ikkaku then turned around and leaned onto the tree seeming as if he was relaxed. He sighed. He had just come back from intense shikai training with Yumichika. His muscles were aching and his head dripped sweat like a river that navigated itself down Ikkaku's face. Ikkaku leaned back on the wall his shoulders resting on the hard tree. His hands still behind his shaved head. He closed his eyes. Kenpachi had told him that there was a newbie on the eleventh squad and Ikkaku wanted to check this out. Ikkaku opened his eyes and focused them on the boy who was stretching. Kenpachi said he was gunning for 4th seat. Ikkaku sighed. Yumichika would have killed him if he knew someone had a number as ugly as that in the division. Ikkaku stood up. His shoulders peeled of the tree. His robe danced in the windy breeze that flew by. Ikkaku took a few steps forward and then stopped with his hands still behind his head. He looked down at the boy.
"I pressume you are Tsugaru. You seem to be waiting for someone," Ikkaku said locking gazes with the boy. The way he would answer would have a high impact of what Ikkaku thought of him. Kenpachi said he had potential. To hell with that. Ikkaku cared how strong he was now, not in a hundred years. Ikkaku was not at the tryouts because he had training. He figured the guy would fail. Actually he had talked to Aoide. She said the bastard cut her so she facepalmed him. Pathetic. Ikkaku was not wearing his zanpakuto. He left it outside of the area.
"Don't worry...I have no intention of killing you. I will be a mere spectator unless want to fight someone strong," Ikkaku said with a straight face. A cut was revealed on his left cheek. It dripped down like rain. It formed a very small puddle of blood on the ground. Ikkaku had heard that the boy was not even strong enough to scratch Kenpachi. What would make him think he could scratch Ikkaku.
"The name is Ikkaku Madarame, 3rd seat of the 11th division. I have one question for you. Are you ready to fight to the death?" Ikkaku said casually looking down at the man. He noticed Kenpachi was already there. If Kenpachi wanted the fight, Ikkaku would back off. After all the boy would not be strong enough to scratch either of them. Right?

As Tsugaru stretched out his captain had shown up and called him over. He had a pretty good feeling that captain Zuraki would be there as he was such a lover of battle and it was great that he had been right, training with the captain would be the best instruction he could get. The fact that the man he had respected most of his academy stay had remembered his name was an honor to him. He walked over to his captain and bowed before him respectfully.
"Good morning, captain. Yes, My name is Tsugaru. Is there something you need of me? I was just about to start training."
He wasn't even really sure if he would have an instructor in his training this morning or if he was just supposed to wing it and train himself. If ever there was a doubt concerning whether or not he was to have a teacher on these grounds, they were shattered when Ikkaku showed up.
Damn! will I ever be able to relax? I'm so used to goofing off but in front of superior officers... I don't think so.
He bowed before Ikkaku and smiled to him some what nervously. Even though the man wasn't anywhere near the skill level of Kenpachi he still deserved respect as being a seated officer took allot of time and power just the same. When he had joined the eleventh squad he had taken his time to memorize the faces and names of all the seated officers. He cleared his throat and began to talk to the man.
"Hello, sir. Yes, My name is Surumi Tsugaru and I'm waiting for either instruction or for the opportunity to do some free training on my own but as the two of you have shown up I figure I'm in the hands of too incredibly capable teachers and am ready for instruction, sir!"
He didn't shout the entire time he spoke but the "sir" was most definitely louder then the rest of his words. He would be in for the best training of his life if the two men before him would be participating in his learning. That's when Ikkaku had told him that he wouldn't kill him, which came to great relief to Tsugaru.
"Thank you, sir. I 'm not much for dying, way too much planned for my future. Not to mention that I haven’t proven myself to the eleventh yet. As for fighting someone strong, I'll do what ever it takes to get strong."
He had found himself showing even the smallest glimpse of joking with the man and it relaxed him to a point but still these men barely knew him and it would take quite a while before he felt like he could be his natural self around them. Just as he was wondering if the information he had gathered on this man was right, he introduced himself and Tsugaru found himself smiling again in spite of Ikkaku's tough demeanor, hopefully it wouldn't come back to bite him... That's when Ikkaku asked about the same question that Aoide had asked him, and Tsugaru had the same answer for him.
It's a pleasure to meet you, sir. And yes, I'm ready to die for the eleventh and what I believe in... though I would prefer not to..."
again, a small joke that would hopefully not throw him at the bottom of a grave that he had dug himself. He awaited the reaction from he two of them and mentally readied himself incase they were to attack right on the spot and begin his training.
He rubbed his temples, this kid really needed to learn to relax. His stiff movements and nicecities were starting to get to the man.
"Kid, drop the prim n' proper already." He growled, "You in the 11th, not the 6th."
Gods knew how Byakuya forced his subordinates to act there. But he had a pretty good idea.
"Let's have some tea, shall we?" Byakuya would say in that noble, rich attitude that he would always carry. About him would be seated his entire division, who would have just finished an entire 3 hours of calligraphy.
"Yes, Taichou. Well would love some tea." They would all respond, before rising slowly as a unison.
The thought made him mentally shudder.
"Fuckin' relax kid, you're hear to fight, and get stronger, not become a pansy." He growled and shot a scowl at the recruit before him, if he didn't comply, he was definetly going to hurt him.
He looked over at Ikkaku and nodded, before shrugging his shoulders.
"Meh, Ikkaku." He grunted. "Give it a go, show this boy how it's done in this squad."

Beck strolled lackadaisically into the eleventh division training ground. As he continued walking toward the center, he took a bite of a green apple he had in his hand. As he came closer to the center he recognized his captain, Kenpachi Zaraki, and another Shinigami, which he couldn’t quite place. Oh right, it was the suck-up (in his mind) he had come across in the hot springs. However, it looked as if he was about to fight some other bald headed Shinigami whom Beck didn’t really recognize, but took him to be a member of squad 11. The new recruit had come here with the idea of training, and he would have wanted nothing more than to pound the over-the-top flatterer’s face in after their encounter at the hot springs, but it didn’t look like this was the time or the place.
Instead, Beck’s thoughts would quickly turn from fighting to becoming a spectator. He would stand by and watch the fight between Ikkaku and Tsugaru, knowing that each of these men were his competition in rising through the ranks of Squad Eleven, especially Tsugaru. This would allow him to study how they fought and would give him an idea of what to expect when they eventually met in combat. Plus, he wasn’t really sure why he brought an apple to go train. The young Shinigami walked a bit closer to the three before stopping and taking a spot next to Kenpachi, remaining standing.
“Cap'n,” the new recruit said, not bothering to look at Kenpachi when he greeted him. He crunched loudly into his apple and chewed is obnoxiously as he looked straight ahead at the two Shinigami apparently about to do battle.

Ikkaku stared at the newbie, Tsugaru. He seemed to talk but not do. The kid lost to a girl. A girl that Ikkaku had beaten in a fight. What made him think he would stand a chance? Ikkaku gripped his zanpakuto with his right hand. His hand muscles clenched the sword slowly ripping it out of it's sheath. Ikkaku was slightly bored. This man was not a threat. He was a training buddy. Nothing more. Ikkaku pointed the tip of his sword at the newbie's heart. He grinned. He then watched as another newbie walked in.
"Hey you. With the apple. Don't worry, I'll fight you later," Ikkaku said unamused. He grabbed a pebble on the floor. It was the size of a penny. The pebble layed in between Ikkaku's thumb and index thumb. Ikkaku smirked as he flicked the pebble toward Beck. The pebble cut the air as it flew at high speeds. It was sent into his mouth. Now he would stop chewing like that. Ikkaku looked back at Tsugaru. He hadn't even took out his weapon. Ikkaku extended his arm. The moment Kenpachi said pansy. Ikkaku smirked again. He was a bit of a pansy. Then Ikkaku heard the signal for him to go. Ikkaku seemingly dissapeared. Unlike his captain, Ikkaku was able to use Shunpo to his advantage. The last time he really showed off his shunpo in the fight with Edorad. Ikkaku reappeared right in front of Tsugaru.
"Captain, you can always put him on paperwork duty," Ikkaku said bringing the sword crashing down toward Tsgaru's left shoulder. There was substantail power in the blow. He hoped the poor kid would not die too early in the fight.
Yachiru had just finished her latest assault on the sweets stash of the woman's association hideout when she had decided to head back to Kenpachi's... back. As she moved through the shinigami houses and shops she nabbed a few treats here and there. A sweet bun from a vendor, a slice of pie from a window and the ever loved rock candy from an unaware candy store display. All of these delicacies helped to fuel her antics and within no time at all she was jumping over the barracks wall landing on Kenpachi's back. She giggled wildly as she began to speak squeakily to Kenpachi.
Heya, Ken-chan! Gonna fight pinball head? or is he gonna fight Hedgie, huh, are ya?"
She could hardly keep her interest in it all without Kenpachi fighting but new people meant she could mess with them and create new nicknames. She had hardly noticed but another guy with goggles had been sitting next to Kenpachi the entire time she had been there. She threw out a small hand and pointed blatantly at the man's goggles.
"Look at those! what are those for, Oggle-chan?! You're weird!"
A cascade of giggles followed her voice. Of course calling out his flaws were nothing but an innocent attempt to learn, right? She retracted her hand and turned her attention back to Kenpachi. She had brought her chalks along and began to draw a bunny in a dress before speaking to Kenpachi again.
"It's going to be boring if you don't fight, Ken-chan..."
She was dangerously close to the edge of boredom and would have to run off and infiltrate other snack cache's if Kenpachi wasn't going to fight... maybe she would hunt down Byakuya and go out to eat with him!
