Kai is a very apathetic person. He cares for nothing or anyone. This is a result of losing everything near and dear to him. He has no fear of pain but is always miserable. Everything he says or comments on is full of gloom and despair. With this mind set and his amazing knowledge, he created a wicked personality that has no admiration with the living since he believes he died along time ago.

Nothing is known to much about Kai for the simple fact he doesnt vent to anyone nor is consoled be anyone he'd rather live his life in solitude. His only salvation is his solace....for which he cant feel pain.

Supposedly divinely given. at least thats what he believes to his knowledge.

Special Abilities:

Martial arts prodigy, weapon technician (all), Vast intelligence, and heigtened abilities.

Powers First Stage:

Resonance of Souls
This power is something to be reckoned with although it doesn't help Kai in any way. he has an extroadinary ability to merge with the souls of people he trusts and increase their power substantially. There are different variations to this technique. but as for the direct resonance there are 3 lvls to it.

lvl 1- weak trust- This is maybe someone who helped you get home a few times had a couple laughs together. This doubles the user's power in a certain tier for 10 posts. however the peson kai merged with does not increase in tier but for example:
Kai merges with person A (2-b) and fights against person B(2-b)
Person A will be much stronger for the duration against any equal tier or lower.

lvl 2- moderate trust- This is the equivalent of a person your freidns with. Someone who will watch your back if need be and also fight beside you. This level of resonance allows the merger to increase 1 tier ex: 2-b becomes 2-a for the duration of 10 posts.

lvl 3 Strong trust- This is the equivalent of having an intimate friendship with somebody. Being able to give their life for someone without a seconds hesitation. The ultimate form of kai's power and trust. This allows the user to jump 2 tiers in power. The max is 1-A. however if kai does merge with a 1-A or 1-B. However, they will become stronger than any existing 1-1's in the rp for the duration.

There is a lvl 4 But info on this skill shall not be given until someone has actually reached level 3 and used it multiple times.

After the ten posts duration is up Kai is pushed out separating the two bonds. If this happens Kai cannot perform another merging for 5 posts. If the person Kai merges with is defeated Kai will be forced out exhausted but not harmed.

now for variations.

Kai can perform a soul resonance without the acceptance of trust but this will result in a soul inner battle. which can hinder what a person is doing in the real realm. example Kai resonates forcefully with person A and fights them inside their soul. While person A is also fighting person B in the outside realm. When Kai performs an inner battle. It is different from the inner fights we've witnessed in the anime. Kai has become a soul and forcefully purged himself into another's Killing Kai when he is forcefully merged would result in a soul break. Instead a person must use his will power to force kai out sorta like an exorcism. What makes this hard is because Kai can seal off the zanpakutou spirit from aiding a shinigami. humans/vamps/quincies are alot easier to subdue.

Soul Protect: This is a skill Kai created himself through Ancient Buddhist techniques. This skill requires hand seals to unlock that only Kai and the highest buddhist priests know. This skill seals off Kai's reiatsu as a limiter and makes him appear as normal human to all spiritually aware beings. Over time the longer the seal stays on The built up reiatsu builds within Kai. When the protect is disabled All of the built-up reiatsu floods out of Kai in the form of a huge sphere. The spiritual pressure from the release is enough to make menos class hollows up to low level adjuhchas turn tail and run. Low level hollows within range simply disintegrate.

Soul break: If kai forcefully merges and an inner battle begins. If Kai is victorious he can manipulate the soul to his will gaining any knowledge of the person, deepest secrets etc. He can also attempt to break the soul which can lead to coma or death for a human or quincy, incapacitation for vampires, and Death to shinigami.

Kai's power is limited to quincy,shinigami, humans, and vampires. Vizards are impossible via inner hollow. and Arrancar are evil souls who cannot be trusted in the 1st place.

Kai merger Shinigami: Since Shinigami are directly soul with a manifested body. merging with them is different. Kai and the Shini's voice share features. Also Kai's abilities flood into the shinigami as where in a human Kai can decide how much and how little to give.

Powers Second Stage:

(I never intended to give my char more powers than that so consider this a fodder ability)

Kai can asorb the spirit particles in the surrounding vicinity and implant them into his body. Granting him both incredible speed,strength,and endurance. The way the particles are absorbed are similar to the way a quincy uses them for their bow. Through this Kai is also capable of healing injuries using the same technique though not instant it's fast enough for Kai to be a little careless. Naturally in places with higher spiritual density like SS or HM this power will be much more substantial.

History/Background:

Kai was a special child from the day he was born. His parents acknowledged this from the star shaped birthmark on his back. Doctors and scholars alike were astounded with Kai's development. Being able to mouth out sentences and walk on his own two feet by the age of one. They considered him a wonder considering his parents were sickly almost always. But it seems even having Kai as a son improved their health. They labeled him a natural born miracle.

At the age of three although his speech was limited to that of an infant, he spoke 13 different and distinct languages clearly. Some old and even forgotten. Doctors studied his development month after month, seeing if there would be any other new changes. Things stayed the same his speech improved as did his motor skills. At 5 he started school, he was much smarter than all of the other children. He even taught them things during recess and the like. Kai became a phenomenal child genius starting karate. Every move he learned and adapted too each day. His parents knew that at the rest of his life he would in headstrong and confident.

Years have passed and now Kai is 15 He is a genius at all martial arts and is a multi-weapon technician capable of using different weapons and styles along with them. His parents died on his 15th b-day. The day he started seeing spirits. He could always hear them from a young age and he could see outlines since he was a child. But now they appeared to him as if they were real people. Talking to him as he walked down the streets at night and even having conversations with them. However everyone he knew or cared about died all suddenly just after seeing him that day. He became miserable and couldn't deal with life anymore. He tried taking his own but he felt that would've made him guilty for all those who cared for him.

One night a couple months have passed Kai had started seeing horrifying monsters with white masks. They seem so scared yet attracted to him. Despite his vast knowledge he could never define what they were and just labeled them as "Evil Spirits". One night one was bold enough to attack him. On reflex Kai did Shao Lin palm thrust and stopped the "Evil Spirit" In it's tracks. It didn't move but the mask cracked a little. and soon his head exploded resulting the creature to vaporize. Kai's hand started to smoke from the rebound. He shuttered at the thought of what happened he had spiritual powers.

Urahara Kisuke had seen this phenomena and approached the boy. Saying he was very gifted and would to help him control that power. It has been 4 years then and Kai is a master in practically all martial arts and a master weapon technician. Urahara having disappeared lately made Kai a loner. Everyone he loved and cared about gone or dead. He only remembers something Urahara-san said to him. "You have the power to create balance or destroy it. whatever you choose to do will be the fate of this realm."

RP Sample:

Kai and Elena had been together for several months now. Kai the once apathetic man who held a grudge against the world for having taken everything precious from him, had finally received a blessing in the form of his love. Elena..... a fair-haired girl who had the likeness of a godess who tore away Kai from his dark abyss of a heart and turned into an epitaph of light. They were truly happy together, they had been through an extraordinary amount of complications throughout their relationship but each intervention simply made them stronger and more resolute. However, it was one fateful day that changed Kai's life forever once again........

I have missed you too, my love. Don't say it like it's been months since you laid eyes on me. *giggles* It's only been a week or so. But let us walk, I love holding your hand when we walk.

It had been a week and a half since either Kai or Elena had seen each other. Both loving each other but living different lifestyles. However, today their lifes would take different directions forever. It wasn't long till they had reached the intersection after passing through the park hand in hand.

Elena seeing her favorite ice cream stand still open despite being late ran forward, Kai simply smiled at her happy go lucky nature and let her go on ahead. As it turns out a man who had been mentally ill and drunken on sake had been speeding through the streets with the local police on his tail. Taking evasive measures the drunken man had used side streets and followed up the same path Kai and Elena had walked just moments ago.

It didn't take but mere seconds for the car to reach the intersection Elena had been frolicking across. Kai's attention suddenly turned his heart filled with desperation. He rushed to his beloved.

The white lights of the car's high beams made her seem like a deer on the highway, frozen in fear. Her mind told her to move but her body wouldn't budge. All she could yell out was one simple name.

Kai was only within a leaps reach of making it in time. In desperation his power activated. His soul screaming his lover's name.

Kai with his hand outstretched glowed white completely around his body as an aura enveloped him. Just when he was within hand's reach it had been too late. The car had taken Elena away with him in fell swoop as they both passed right by slipping through him due to his spiritual form. Elena had been taken away from him in a mere second. Using any strength he could muster from the sadness he purged himself into Elena's body hoping he could do something. However, healing the body and healing the soul are two different feats even though Kai knew he couldn't heal outside injuries. Kai constantly tried to pour his energy into her fading soul but to no avail. In the midst of Kai's agony Elena soul spoke to him.

Soon after Kai was pushed out his fleeing spirit caused him to move miles of his current location. By the time he came to his realization he had been in the middle of the woods. It was there were he cried out for the rest of the day. His heart slowly becoming the black pit of darkness ever more.

I've been looking over apps all day, and since I did not see a sample post, I have overlooked it. However, seeing as how this application has been absent of action for so long, I suggest throwing it up in the original post. That way, it can be reviewed in full by another staff member if the current mod reviewing is away/doesn't have the time.
