History/Background:
Gekidu was born to an unexpecting couple who were not ready for a child. They took the child deep into a forest and abandoned him. It is here that Gekidu experienced his human death. The place was unique though. It was high in spiritual energy and acted as a gateway into a vast forest in the spiritual world. For days the baby cried, hungry and thirsty, but his cries went unanswered. One day a large mother bear was walking bye and heard the cries. She decided to take the child under her wing and raise him as one of her own. This is where Gekidu met his mother, Metotush Kamui.RP Sample:
Gekidu spent every moment of his childhood by his mother's side. She taught him the ways of the earth and the ways of the bear. Gekidu grew up into a massive man. Towering at 6'10 and with layer upon layer of muscle, he truly was a bearish man.
One day while wandering through the forest with his mother, his mother stopped and said; "Gekidu my child, it is time that you live your own life. A man such as yourself does not belong hidden in the forest. I will give you the gift of my power and will always be by your side." With that his mother began to fade away leaving a zanpakuto in her place. Gekidu took up the sword and began his journey into civilization.
Because he grew up in the forest Gekidu had poor social skills as well as no money or home. He spent his time traveling between towns doing odd jobs for little cash. He spent the little cash he got in bars where he spent most of his time. He was constantly getting in fights and quickly earned a reputation for being unrivaled in strength and ferocity. One day as he sat in a bar drinking his sake a man in a white haori sat next to him. "So, you're the famed Gekidu of the bears?" Gekidu continued to drink his sake, giving the man no attention. "Hmph, so you think your tough huh?" The conversation quickly went from words to swords. Gekidu was swiftly defeated and left bloodied on the ground. As the man walked away Gekidu grabbed his leg. "Don't you dare walk away! I'm not done with you." The man kicked away Gekidu's hand. "If you want to continue this, come to the Seireitai and become a shinigami." With that the man left.
Gekidu at first ignored the man's request. But the memory of being beaten so easily didn't sit well with him. He decided to join the Seireitai and become a shinigami in hopes that one day he could defeat that man.
Gekidu walked through the forest until he gazed upon a large redwood tree. He sat at the bottom of the tree and placed his zanpakuto beside him. He closed his eyes and sat in meditation. A large furry head gently laid itself down in his lap. Gekidu began to stroke the familiar fur. "Hello mother." He said softly. "Its good to see you again Gekidu. I see you've joined the ranks of the Shinigami. You're doing well for yourself." His mother's approval brought a smile to his face. "Thanks mother." They sat there for a while in silence, taking in the serene atmosphere. "Gekidu, remember, I will always be by your side, you are not alone." And his mother disappeared. Gekidu put his hand on his zanpakuto and took a deep breath letting out a sigh. "I know mother." Gekidu got up and began walking away.
