It was early morning, just after dawn, when Makuro landed in front of the Dragon's maw tavern. He was holding on his arm a picnic basket filled with all sorts of goodies both edible and drinkable. He stood there waiting for Azuki. He had arranged what he guessed would be a date. He wondered if she would turn up. He hoped she would. He had chosen most of this food and drink for her, he liked most of it, but he had a feeling she'd love it. He waited patiently listening carefully to see if he could hear her coming. He had several good ideas of a place they could walk to. In fact, he had arranged those area for it and was going to lead her to one of them if he could. Whenever Makuro went on a date he went all out and did everything he could to make it as perfect as possible.

Azuki finished training early that morning. Instead of training until her patrol came about, she left early, and took a shower. When she emerged, and fully dressed, she shunpoed over to the tavern, The Dragon's Maw. There, Makuro would be waiting for her. After thinking about it, this would be her first date... ever. Most people tended to keep their distance, as she appeared uptight and evidently serious. A blush colored her cheeks when she arrived and found him standing there. The thought that he would stand her up crossed her mind several times, but now she knew better.
"Makuro," she called out before shunpoing over to him, "How are you?"

He turned to see her and smiled that charming smile. His eyes, which were coloured like the night sky, twinkled like stars. He looked at her before replying. "All the better now I have the company of a beautiful woman." he said with a definate flirtatious tone to his voice. He offered her his free arm. "Shall we head off then? I have a few ideas of where we could go. "
He hoped she would like the food and he also hoped she would like the places he had chosen. They were all beautiful sites though, in his opinion at least, they were best to see at night.

Azuki crossed her arms, and stood there. Her plum eyes looked into Makuro's dark eyes. "I'll think about it," she replied. She didn't utter a word and kept her calculating gaze on her companion. This was her way of teasing people, which may explain why she didn't actually have that many friends or past boyfriends. A bright smile cracked her face, as she took his arm. "It would be my pleasure."

He smiled as she took his arm and began to lead her through the town towards the closest of his picnic spots. He was watching her out of the corner of his eye as he lead her through the streets. She really was a beautiful woman. He kept quiet until they were near the site and then quickly swept her up in his arms and shunpoed the last bit, a large uphill climb. He placed her gently on the picnic mat and then sat down himself placing the basket there. "Help yourself. There is plenty of it." he said with a smile and then observed the view.
They had the shade of a tree so the sun wouldn't bother them and they were quite high up so could see most of Seireitei. "This place is much better at night." he said with a shrug. "But the nighttime beauty of this site is far surpassed by your own."

Before Azuki knew it, Makuro swept of off her feet. For a moment, she seemed a bit angry, thinking that she could walk herself. She knew that there were two good legs under her. Moments later she figured that he probably wanted to take her to a specific place. Lo and behold, the other shnigami dropped her off at a picturesque picnic spot. After being invited to eat, she found that the basket contain sweet pastries.
For a moment, she sat there, enjoying the sweet of the food that Makuro brought along. Azuki enjoyed it so much, she almost missed what he said. "Why, aren't we a lady killer," she jokingly replied, secretly loving the compliment. "But, how did you know sweets?"

Makuro smiled and tapped his nose knowingly saying nothing as he too munched into the pastries. Sometimes being a noble helped. It allowed him to get research done quickly and easily without knowledge. Plus he had connections in all of the squads including hers and so he had simply got his family to ask around. "Sorry for carrying you." he said with a smile. "Its just a pain to walk up here."

Azuki casted a momentary suspicious look. She knew the happy go lucky shinigami grew up an aristocrat, and therefore had connections. Instead of letting it bother her, Azuki continued eating her delicious pastry before responding. "I quite like a walk, really. Clears the head, and calms me down."

"Well its not so much the distance its the gradient." he replied with a shrug. They were quite high up and the hill wasn't that wide so the actual climb would of been difficult without the abilities provided by skill in hoho. "But I agree it is calming." he sat there eating his own pastry before adding. "Though not as calming as the bliss of nighttime." He sighed in content and smiled.
He drew his zanpakutoh and stared at the blade watching the sunlight glint on it. It was not as mesmerising as the reflection of starlight and moonlight, though it was still beautiful. He stared at it for some time and adjusted it so he could see her face in the reflection. She was much more beautiful then even the moonlight. He nodded and sheathed the blade. "The blade is both beautiful and deadly, just like the woman who sits beside me." he said half to himself though hoping she would hear it and take it as a compliment. "Though the company of the woman is far nicer during the daytime." His zanpakutoh spirit, though it spoke little, radiated its mood and during the day whenever he tried to speak to it it radiated annoyance.
