With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.

Once everyone was healed up thanks to Squad 4, and all the healing Kido she could muster, a captain's meeting had been called for in Squad 1's main office, which was built for such a thing.
This was, obviously, about Aizen's latest assault. It was also about the legend of the swords. She had hoped that in her life time here, that it would never surface, but sadly, it had.
In one of the larger meeting rooms, she sat on her legs behind a 1ft tall, but long podium which was not well adorned. It was something made for business, and not aesthetics.
Furthermore, this large table would be more ideal for scroll viewing. She had stepped out from the healing early in order to retrieve the needed litterature. She trusted Squad 4, and this situation was beyond dire, after all.
It was her full intent on letting all captains, and seated officers know what was going on.
Now all she could do was wait for them to arrive.
Soifon was among the first to arrive. She wasn't injured badly in the fray... at least not in any way that Kido could repair. Her pride had been beaten quite a lot by that bastard Aizen, and she had full intent of repaying him.
She didn't mind the change in style for the meeting as she sat silently in the squad 2 position in the room while her seated officers gathered. Of course, she had some idea of the legend as such. Tools of killing were part of her hobby as an assassin, though she didn't make it a point to spread this knowledge to her subordinates. If they knew anything of it it was on their own time.
Yumeji arrived as she were a seated officer, barely, and by miracle more than anything, and she kept a respectful silence, or perhaps she were too lazy to greet anyone, but she found her spot in the squad 9 area, then settled in calmly.
Eiko was excused from healing duty to attend this meeting. She was pretty in the dark about all of this, and frankly she were greatly annoyed at the turn of events. She had no want to deal with something this dire, but it was tossed at her, and the Soul Society, and forced onto them. She had a seat in the squad 4 position calmly.
Having recently healed from his injuries after the attack, Kenpachi Zaraki was already out of bed and ready for action, and yet they wanted him to attend a stupid meeting. No doubt Retsu wanted to enlighten everyone on what the hell was going on.
"I sure as hell don't know what happened." Kenpachi muttered to himself as he walked down the long halls on his way to the 1st Division. "I thought that man was dead..."
He growled at the concept that Aizen could be back, did that mean that everything they had fought for up until now was pointless? That it had just been a waste of time? Hell, Aizen even brought back hordes of Espada that they had initially defeated.
"Peh, waste of time." He grit out of his teeth as he drew near the meeting room, bells ringing in his wake. "We should just get this over with and fight!"
The man that was known as the demon flung the doors of the meeting hall open before striding in, a permanent scowl seeming to etch his features.
"What's this all about, Ret--... Captain-Commander?" He couldn't use her name here, especially not in a seated meeting. Kenpachi sighed and walked to his spot in the hall, awaiting the arrival of everyone else.

Momo walked through the doors of the First Division office, her face riddled with worry. Kyra was still unconscious, though most of her injuries had been healed. It seemed that blast had really done a number on her. With a faint hand, she brushed a few strands of chestnut brown hair from her visual radius as she excused herself with a customary bow before following the others in. She was at least glad that she hadn't been the last to arrive, having been fatally wounded herself. Still, the sudden rush to make it to the meeting meant that she had to leave a bit earlier than Squad Four had suggested, which explained the slow movements, slight wince during her customary bow, and her hesitance in kneeling down along with the other Captains.
There were various sections for each Squad, Momo once again taking up the position next to an empty Captains seat. She stared at it for a moment, a look of sadness falling upon her expression, but she quickly masked it as she awaited for others to arrive... that was, until she heard-
"I said get the fuck off me!"
"Ma'am, you're not fully healed; not only that, but you're only a twe-"
"GET OFF ME!"
Ruckus from outside seemed to filter in every so lightly through the cracked doors of the first division. A nearly mummified Kyra attempted to break through the doors with three members of Squad Four attempting to hold her back.
"Ma'am, you have internal bleeding; we haven't been able-"
"I'll head back once I'm done, so back the fuck up!"
There was a thud, followed by two others. Parting the doors, Kyra walked in, face still covered in blood, having not been fully healed, and panting heavily with her adrenaline alone being her only source of keeping her conscious. Her crimson hues met Momo's briefly before the scarlet haired Vizard made her way toward her squad's section. However, instead of sitting behind the Lieutenant and Captain's seat, respectively, she seemed to perch herself straight into the empty seat next to Momo, arms crossed over her chest, and throwing a leg up one over the other. It was obviously a message...
As per her usual, following not far behind Soifon was Sayuri - at last recovered from her wounds she had suffered during her battle with the revived 5th Espada. She stood as she generally always does and has when in Soifon's presence, out of the way, standing behind her Captain to Soifon's right side - not far but out of the way, at the ready to act on Soifon's will the second she gives it. Standing in her attention like posture, Sayuri stood rigid and upright with her heels together, however her arms were crossed under her chest rather than her sides, but Sayuri's eyes remained front with her humorless, placid expression.
Arriving not long after Soifon, was the 6th Division Captain Byakuya Kuchiki, taking his place within the meeting. With his dignified strike and serene gaze and posture. He silently waiting for the commencement of the meeting to learn what he could from all that has transpired, and the finer details about these 'legendary' swords.
Nemu took her place at the 12th Division area, standing where the Vice-Captain is assigned. Another who is quiet and reserved, her wooden melacholic gaze unchanged from what it has always been. Those emerald hues seeming to stare off into nothing as she stood in her silence.
"What the hell happened?" Ikkaku thought to himself as he followed Kenpachi to the meeting.
Ikkaku trailed Kenpachi from a distance. As a seated officer his prescence was required. He trailed Kenpachi by a few feet. It seemed the captain was unhappy. Who wouldn't be. Aizen back? Was this some joke? Yamma....His thougths didn't finsih the word. Why weren't the divisions fighting? A counterattack, not some meeting. At least he would get information of the situation like how this was possible.
Kenpachi didn't even turn back and look at Ikkaku. He was in some deep thinking, and Ikkaku didn't want to bother him in times like this. Questions consumed his mind like a monster. Ikkaku was lost. This was no ordinary war. The dead was on Gin's side. An army of infinite standards.
"Che...Kill them and when they come back to life kill them again," Ikkaku muttered. It was not loud enough for his captain to hear. Ikkaku gritted his teeth. The situation must be more serious than he can imagine. Ikkaku heard his captain say they should get it over with and fight. Ikkaku smirked. Typical Captain, with a typical plan consisting of kill or be killed. Ikkaku watched as the giant man flung the doors open. Ikkaku put on a serious face and walked through.
Early? Ikkaku recognized a few figures there such as Captain Commander, Soifon, Byakuya, Momo, and Nemu. He bowed respectfuly to the captain commander and took his posistion of the 11th squad. They would have to wait before the head captain would explain. Ikkaku sighed silently. Waiting. Inaction. These things never "clicked" with Ikkaku. Ikkaku hoped the captain would explain quickly because his body was eager to fight. He stood straight, with good posture. Ikkaku would wait patiently, or try to, among others for fellow officers to arrive.

Nodding to his fellow Lieutenants, Shuhei entered the large meeting room. He quickly scanned those already gathered for his Captain. Taking his spot at the 9th Squad section, Hisagi leaned against the wall behind him. His mind was racing as it tried to figure out what was going on. With a sigh, Shuhei folded his arms across his chest while he waited for the meeting to start.
Yukino was pretty early at the meeting considering that she had done a bunch of paperwork on the evnts that took place today. As she was walking to the meeting tot the first didivision, and 4th didiviosn medic started to speak her. " Yukino fukataichou, you have 3rd degree burns on your legs, I must take care of you, its my job." She said, in a soft voice. " I haven't the need of you help, if I did I would have came." Yukino coldly said, not even looking at her. "Bu-" She didn't even have time to complete her sentence. With that Yukino flash stepped, now at the doors of the meeting room.
Matsumoto was badly injured, but she needed to attend the meeting. Usually she would never go, but she was a respecfgul fukat6aichou, and knew her place. This was a very serious evernt that took place and she needed to be there, even if she didn't want to. Matsumoto was still in the fourth division healing when a person informed her about the meeting. " You must stay here." The medic told her. Matsumoto knew everyone was in a state of panic so she didn't want to be cold. " I must attend the meeting, but I'll come back when it's done. " She said attempting, but failing, to smile. The fourth division medic didn't want to let her go, since she was still injured, but she knew that it was important.
Each time Matsuimoto moved it hurt, but her duty as a shinigami needed to be fufilled. Sio she flash stepped in pain, but finally made it to the first division. There Matsumoto saw the cold Yukino. She wasn't up for a conversation with her but she nodded, and Yukino did the same. The both went inside the room, alreay filled with shinigami. Yukino got behind Soifon and Matsumoto went to where her Taichou would be. " Where is Hitsugaya-taichou?" She asked, confused since he was all ways up to date on events.
Hikaru was apart of the kido corps, but she still would need to attend the Gotei 13 meeting because the had important information, and Hikaru needed to know it. Hikaru was also greatly injured. If it wasn't for her zanpakutou spirit she would have been dead right now. Even though the fourth divisions medics did what they could do, Hikaru was still extremely injured, and wasn't even allowed to go on missions.
However, she was allowed to attend the Gotei 13 meeting, because everyone knew it was very important. Hikaru didn't even have the ability to flash step, well she did but it would hurt way to bad. If she did even try she would definatly pass out from the pain of the burns itself. It was scary to know that that was only the old mans shikai, hikaru would be dead if he went bankai.
Using her zanpaqkutou to support herself Hikaru slowly made her way to the first division which wasn't too far from the 1st division. It took her about an hour to get there even though there was a short distance. With her zanpakutou as her only support she managed to open the door. She didn't want to show her face, because it for once had a frown on it. The back side of her body was completely burned with 3rd and a little of 2nd degree burns. " Sorry for not bowing, but I can't." She said, with a sad voice. It pained her not to bow to her superiors, but Hikaru didn't really have a choice.
Hikaru groaned in pain, his body felt as though it had been torn apart bu hungry wolves. Every nerve ending ached, and his chest burned with pain.
"-meeting for all Officers..."
Hikaru coughed, and tasted copper. God he had never been in so much pain in his life.
"Get. Up." came the same curt and irritated voice from within his own mind.
"Fuck. You." he replied back to his zanpakutou spirit, the memory of very nearly being bisected coming back into his mind.
"There's an officers meeting."
"I'm sure Retsu will understand Fushichou."
She growled at her partner, and Hikaru could feel warmth spread throughout his body as her temper flared.
"You, Retsu, and Shunsui are the ONLY ones that know about these things! You HAVE to go."
Growling low in his throat, he planted his hands on the firm medical cot, and lifted himself up. Pain shot through his body, and it was by sheer willpower that he managed to stay conscious.
"Captain! You can't get up yet, your-"
The 9th Division Captain cut the medic off with a wave of his hand, his eyes roaming over his bandaged chest. There were a few spots where he was still bleeding a little, but he could cope with that.
"Gimme my hayori and some pain killers."
"But Cap-"
A pointed glare from the shinigami Captain was all the urging she needed, and in moments, she had returned with the requested items.
"Thank you." Hikaru nodded and smiled at the young shinigami.
Downing the pain killers, and throwing on his hayori, he stood and prepared to leave the room.
The top half of his uniform had been cut off, but it didn't really matter because his upper torso was covered in bandages. The bottom half had remained intact, so that was at least one good thing.
Hobbling from the medical division, he felt strangely empty without his zanpakutou at his side. He knew it had been completely shattered from his fight with Aizen. He also realized that he didn't have enough reitsu to shunpo.
Cursing under his breath, the Captain began hobbling to the 1st Division building.
He hadn't realy sustained any damage so right after the captains meeting was called he walked as fast as he could to get there. He was shell-shocked about the events that had came to be. First, Aizen had came and attacked with the un-dead, and all the arrancar that had been already killed. As if that weren't enough Aizen had the dirty mind to think he had the irght to bring the former Sou taichou, Yammamto-san back to life and he attacked.
Komamura was still in awe when he had seen that Yammamoto-san had brought forth his shikai and burned many lives of the Gotei 13. WHen he was first brought out all Komamura could do was stare at his former master, in shock and awe. He was barely able to move and was awakened by a squad member seconds before it would have hit him. He walked into the hall and took his place in the meeting hall in the place of the 7th Squad.
Lilly had woken up and arised out of the water and thankfully out of the way of the fire, she had seen it of course so she raced into Soul society and got healed up. She finished and ran to the meeting hall where everybody else was and walked into the 10th Squad area waiting for orders.
Somehow… I managed to goof up at a time when I could have helped… I wasn’t any help at all… I wasn’t even there… All because of one stupid screw up.
Of all the possible mistakes Hanataro could have made, and of all the possible times he could have made it, Hanataro just had to make this one. He had managed, during the calamity from some time before the incident occured, to fall into a gutter and get stuck. Now, all he knew was everything was a mess. Just one giant mess.
How much time did Hanataro spend trying to assist his fellow healers in aiding the injured? How much time did he spend hovering over injured shinigami with hands engulfed with a healing reaitsu? How many of them tried to push themselves to such an extent that they couldn't sustain themselves? Too many, far too many. He couldn't say he didn't try, and his face showed his exhaustion. He too had pushed himself a little too far as well, and now he found himself running to the first division's office for a meeting.
Gah! What if I'm late?
Another ten steps and Hanataro, who was already out of it from his nonstop healing, found himself at the doors to the office where he was to meet. He would have to thank the messenger that told him about the meeting or he may very well have stayed in the infirmary and continue to assist the wounded, even the ones who were ungrateful. It was his job after all, right?
Opening the doors and glancing around slightly, Hanataro felt somewhat relieved. It was an odd combination of relief and illness. What exactly had happened? It happened without warning. None at all.
He went to stand in the fourth division's waiting area, awaiting orders. He was one of the few who only sustained self-inflicted exhaustion from overdoing his work. He had, admittedly, worked to his limits. He was alright with it. After all, he needed to take pride in his work, for if he didn’t, what of the rest of the fourth division? He almost felt nostalgia as he stood in the presence of his former captain and his current captain commander. The only thing that kept him from feeling this way? The chaos that had occurred earlier.
