With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.
"Yeah, cause you never asked my name," Aoide mentioned, her legs bracing for the impact, obviously, Ikkaku thought that the first sonic boom was all that she could do. Really, she hadn't become third seat just from her looks. Aiming for the shoulders, man he was slow, Aoide easily brought up her Naganita, as soon as his blade and sheath made contact, there was another sonic boom, stronger then when she released. It blew Aoide backwards, no wonder she had braced herself. Her feet went sliding against the floor before she came to a stop. Her Naganita hummed, while her whole body grew warm, this was a good challenge! She was so excited.
"Bout time, lets fight already!" the voice echoed from her Zanpaktou, Aoide nodded, her Reistu suddenly spiking as her blade absorbed the sound of the bells on her weapon as well as the bells in Kenpachi's hair. In fact the entire trainign area was void of any sound, creating an almost creepy setting. The yellow aura around her grew larger, then she took off.
Disappearing from sight, Aoide ran, this wasn't shupoing, not in the normal sense, this wa s a full out run, breaking the sound barrier was easy from Aoide, the explosion being suck into her blade before she disappeared. Her steps, her breathing, her blade absorbed it all, vibrating intensely. Now it was her turn to wear down Ikkaku.
From far away she could hear Kenpachi say something, but she couldn't make it out. Instead she focused on Ikkaku. He was slow, that was one perk, very slow. She flew around him her blades at the ready as she aimed a strike at both his shoulders, stomach, legs, any area she thought she could hit, a smaller sonic boom released each time she hit. Granted, she wasnt strong enough strength wise to incompaciate him with one blow. But if she could cut him enough for him to loose enough blood...easy day.
The girl's sonic boom pushed Ikkaku back as well. He flew back and tried to connect to the ground with his feet. He was in a slight shocked state that made him a bit slower. Her shikai was strong but she would need to be more than strong to beat Ikkaku. By the time he landed the girl was starting to dash at him. He breathed in. Closed his eyes and raised his sword. He opened his eyes and she had already struck both of his shoudlers and his stomach. he felt the pain but did not wince a bit. He felt the blood gush from his stomach. A few trickles of blood pured down his stomach and onto the ground making a small puddle. His shoulder's were injured as well. They ached as a stream of blood from a puncture wound dripped down his back. Ikkaku was already a bloody mess.
"Let's play Chicken. An eye for an eye, a cut for a cut. Kenpachi style," he said putting his sheath in a defensive posistion blocking his face and upper body. His sword was raised in posistion to strike her while she was striking him. There was no way she could avoid an attack when she was attacking. This would end in one giving up and retreating. He started to strike with his sword at vulnerable spots such as the shoulders, legs, and arms. The blood running down his body like if it was a track meet, drove him on. He was pumped. The girl's shikai was very strong. A long spear with bells and could create sonic booms. He smirked.
"Cut. Cut. Cut," He said each time he tried to strike with his sword.

As Kenpachi continued to observe the scene, the man's smile grew larger with amusement. In a matter of seconds his laughter grew thick in the blood-stained air.
Who knew Ikkaku had it in him? Most of the time, the bald man would attempt to come out on top with no scatches at all. Sure, he was just about as aggressive as anyone could be, but Ikkaku generally didn't completely drop his defenses just for an open shot.
Kenpachi style... The man chuckled inwardly. So this is what he thinks of me.
It had some truth to it. From the outside one could easily make the mistake that Kenpachi was trading off hit for hit, to see who could endure more, and he could understand where Ikkaku drew that conclusion from. However, that wasn't exactly the case. Kenpachi Zaraki usually allow the opponent to draw blood so that he would be weakened. He wanted to be brought down to the level of the enemies. Whatever assumptions that could be drawn, Kenpachi Zaraki hated battles in which he would come out unscathed.
"Cut. Cut. Cut."
The tall man laughed again, Ikkaku was truely a man after his own heart. Nothing could stand between him and a good fight. Even if it meant not releasing his own Shikai.
Kenpachi took a breath and calmed down slightly, reaching into his cloak before pulling out a large cantine. There was nothing like drinking sake while watching a good fight.
"That's some good stuff." Kenpachi surmised after taking a swig, whether it was about the fight or the sake, one could only guess.
Aoide's body ached, and for good reason, several wounds on her shoulders, arms and legs bled, throwing droplets of blood all over the training area. This was harder then the expected, she almost regretted going Shikai so early. While she was good at her Naganita, it took two hands most of the time to weild it, meanwhile Ikkaku had the luxury of his blade and his sheath to fight with. She was knock backwards as the butt of the sheath knocked her in the mouth. Blood trickled out of her mouth before she wiped it away, and spat on the ground.
Come on, I know I'm better then this, I-I just haven't been giving it my all! I'm always afraid of destorying something and now I'm fighting against a guy that can take my hits! She thought shaking her head, she had to get her head in the game. She wouldn't be the fool, no, she was tired of being the fool!
"About, fucking time," her Zanpaktou spoke and Aoide felt Spiritual Energy flood her body, then the battle lust took over. Looking up at Ikkaku her eyes were a pale yellow color, her Reistu spiked, reaching it's peek. She ran forward, and a few feet before she reached Ikkaku she buried the point of her blade in the ground, using it to balance herself as she aimed a two legged kick at Ikkaku's stomach, her goal was to injure him in the spot she had hit before.
Ikkaku grinned wider. She had taken his hits and is still kicking. He was impressed. He ran his left hand, which was also holding th sheath, down his shoulder to his back. The blood was fresh and a bright red. His hand dripped blood. He clutched his sheath. The blood on his hand transeferd to the sheath. He could not take much more of these reckless hits. He rotated his sword so the blade pointed at him and the end pointed at Aoide. He threw the sheath in the air in what seemed like moments. In the air it did a 360 landing in Ikkaku's hand in a reverse posistion. The end of the sheath was also pointing at Aoide. He pulled his hands away from each other. His sheath went from being pointed forward to being pointed left and his sword pointed to the right side. As if they were magnets, the two peices collided together. A gust of wind ran around the sword and sheath. The wind covered the two.
"Shikai Grow Hozukimaru," Ikkaku said as the girl started to run at her. A burst of reaitsu shook the battle grounds. A long spear with a sharp end appeared in Ikkaku's hands. He smashed it on the ground the sharp end pointing up. He did not plan using Shikai before the fight, but now he saw her strength and determenation. He ran his left hand down the spear, grinning while doing so. As the girl jabbed her spear into the ground and lifted her legs he saw his spear would be too slow to block.
"Split, Hozukimaru," Ikkaku said seperating his spear into three parts. He pulled it, looking as if he was breaking it. A chain appeared connecting the three peices. He saw the girl lifting her legs an opening. He grabbed the middle peice with his right hand and the bottom peice with his left hand. Using his left hand he spun the chained peice. The top part dropped lifelessly in mid air. He spun the bottom peice with more force and then threw it. The hard wood wrapped around the girl's right leg. The chain clashe against her bare skin. He switched his right arm posistion from the middle piece to the top piece and his left arm grabbed the middle peice. He tilted the top so it went straight up and the middle going straight forward creating a ninety degree angle. He pulled with all his force trying to knock her off balance. He used his shoulders to try to generate power. If worse came to show He tilted his body sideways so the kick would fly past him still chained. He smelled sake and tilted is head toward the direction of the smell.
For the first time he noticed Kenpachi. He was sitting drinking sake. Ikkaku studied him. He seemed to be enjoying watching the fight. Ikkaku would jump at the chance of fighting Kenpachi once again. The first time he had no shikai to use and now he had a better chance at winning. Where was Yumichika at a time like this? Hopefully not sleeping. You would think he'd at least come for the entertainment of watching a fight. Yachiru was also missing in action. He found it better though, because she would probably call him cue ball anyways. But in reality only Kenpachi sat there with no pink fluffball on his shoulders. At least he seemed to be enjoying himself.
"Hey Kenpachi, save me some Sake, won'tcha?" Ikkaku said grinning.
Now this was interesting... The girl had taken the full brunt of Ikkaku's hits but was still moving. She was truly a former member of the 11th. No one else had that kind of endurance. Grinning widely, he took another swig and eyed the battle with much interest.
Kenpachi's smile grew larger as Ikkaku released his Shikai, the girl was good, but just how good was the question. How long could her battle lust last against the sheer power of Ikkaku's battle Shikai. With anticipation, the man took another lazy swig.
As Ikkaku performed his trickly maneuver about the girl's attack, Kenpachi's smile only grew larger. Apparently he was attempting to knock her off balance, at the very least he had control over her right leg like a marionette.
The only thing left in question was how agile the girl was. Is she was quick enough, she could get out of the bind before she fell completely into it, using the anchor she had created with her Shikai in order to pull herself back and stop momentum from taking it's toll.
He continued to watch, clearly amused.
"Hey Kenpachi, save me some Sake, won'tcha?"
He raised an eyebrow, "What's that? Now that I have Sake you acknowlege me eh?"
Kenpachi let out a hardy laugh, "You'll never change, Ikkaku."
Aoide saw what Ikkaku planned to do, she even slowed down to allow him. Her leg secured against his side, with ease she wrapped her other leg around him. With both legs she squeezed as hard as she could, excellent decision when she had wounded him in the stomach earlier. One thing was for sure her legs were strong, luck was with most women when it came to gaining muscles in their legs, and Aoide like her arms had trained to strengthen them. Well and of course it took a lot of muscle for her body to maintain her Shikai speed.
"Baka," she spoke her voice a deep growl as she squeezed even tighter, if she hadn't been trying to kill him, the fact that her legs around his waist would have been sexy, "Tying up your Zanpaktou like that!" ignoring the fact that her Zanpaktou was just out of reach and instead grabbed Ikkaku by the back of the head and slammed her forehead against his forehead. Once, twice, three, blood trickled down her face. At least she had some sort of cushion with her hair, unlike Ikkaku's bald forehead. She then let go of Ikkaku's waist with her legs, twisting in midair to try to free herself, failing, the staff wrapped around her leg so tightly it began to cut into her flesh and well her leg began to cramp. Aoide winced slightly, the yellow glow in her eyes starting the flicker, scrabbled for her Zanpaktou. Her head ached, as well as her vision as she tried to reach for the blade, her fingernails just barely brushing the hilt.
"Come on, well damn it," Aoide cursed, twisting herself around to the point she heard her hip pop out of it's socket, giving her that few extra inches to grab her Zanpaktou. Pain shot through her body and her eyes returned to normal as she cried out before bringing her blade up, wincing at Ikkaku. "Sing," she spoke pointing the blade at Ikkaku, at the blade tip a large sonic boom began to form and shot at Ikkaku point blank.
Ikkaku watched as the chain snarled around the girl's leg. Perfect, he thought. He did not, however, expect her to hit a strike point blank. He had a split second to think of what to do. He relaxed and thought. Taking a deep breathe, he pulled the two remaing peices to the left as far as possible. This would be to change her body posistion to strike more right and lower then she wanted to. Ikkaku pulled with all his might trying to weaken the affect of the strike. His muscles ached and he started to swear fromt he corwn of his head. He used his shoudlers once again to generate power. He embraced the attack.
A sonic boom with cutting winds embraced Ikkaku happily. It struck his whole right side from his shoulder down to his right foot. He chose the rights side to avoid any head injury and heart injury. He had to be careful she didn't strike the heart and ruin his heartbeat. An irregular heartbeat would mean a forfeit. He was not stupid enough to die. The blast knocked him into the air with extreme force. His right sleeve ripped off and so did his most fot he bottom of his outfit. His right side was ripped up and peices dangled off other peices. He looked like a mess. Blood covered his bare skin which was revealed due to the ripped clothes. Most of his clothing on the right side was gone revealing his bare right arm, chest, and right leg.
In mid air blood dripped from his right side onto the ground. He was about 12 feet in the air. One thing he was glad about is that he still ahd his grip on his weapon. Even when he fought Ichigo and took a shikai to the face he still held on to his zanpakuto. As he was flying back the girl was being dragged along the ground following Ikkaku. He kept puling with all his might. However his muscles were sore and the atatck took it's toll. His right side was weak and cut up. He was losing blood. He clutched the top section of his spear which was still in three parts. As the girl was being dragged along he precisely threw the top section at her right shoulder. She was already cut up, he now needed to create a fatal wound.
"The longer this fight goes, the stronger I am, I fear it is the opposite for you," Ikkaku said grinning. He let got of the top peice sendign it hurling toward her shoulder. He was only left with the middle peice in his hand.
"You seen Yumichika around, Kenpachi?" Ikkaku asked.
Aoide screamed as she was being dragged around, her dislocated hip sending fire up and down her body. It was the worst pain she felt as her bone was pulled further from it's socket. When Ikkaku stopped for a moment Aoide thought it was all over, that the fight was done. How wrong she was, her eyes widen as she saw the blade of Ikkaku's Naganita fly towards her heart. She managed to roll ever so slightly, so the blade just missed her heart and instead hit the fleshy part in between her heart and shoulder, pinning her to the ground. She let out another scream, she couldn't even moveto try to distract herself from the pain.
Panting, her lone good arm reached over and grabbed the part of the spear. Come, you can do it, she tried to encourage herself silently, find his reitsu. There it was the red strand that connect Ikkaku to his blade, she memorized it. Then with all her strength, she ripped the blade out, it clattered to the ground. Her good hand then reached to her Naganita, her fingers brushed against it and slowly she brought it up above her head.
"Concentrate, baka," a voice echoed in her mind.
"Ikka-chan," Aoide whispered looking at him with oddly, unfocused eyes. He was no longer a solid shape in her mind, instead she saw the red reistu that filled his body. She concentrated on that, "Follow," she whispered. Instead of the usual sonic boom, these were red in color as if, actually they were, mimicking Ikkaku's Reistu. As she released her attack and she heard the sonic booms hit something, Aoide let her Naganita fall from her hand. She needed to heal herself, slowly she raised her hand to her shoulder, trying to gather her thoughts and Reistu to try to do some healing Kidou.
Kenpachi's eye widened at the girl's choice in action. It was... rather insane, to say the least. With that, the tall man's eyes glinted in some new found respect. She truely did have the heart of an 11th squad member, to never back down from a fight.
When she purposely dislocated her own leg, an all too familiar laugh split the sounds of battle in the room. This was too good, the woman deserved a trophy for her determination!
Ikkaku, on the other hand, seemed to be letting his ego get the best of him. But that was just who he was. Kenpachi's smile grew as he set off, dragging a screaming girl behind him. Still, in all of that, he could tell that Ikkaku had slowed down, probably due to the repeated headbutts.
As he watched the blade fly into the girl's shoulder, his grin grew ever so slightly. Even in her pained state, she was able to focus enough to survive.
"You seen Yumichika around, Kenpachi?"
He looked over at the bald man, eyebrow raising ever so slightly. Apparently, he thought it was over, and had turned his attention to the captain. His arm raised and point to the glowing reiastu that mimicked his third seat's own.
"Pay attention." Kenpachi growled, a smile still etched on his face. "Baka."
The tall captain took another swig and watched as the girl began to heal herself, it looked as if she wasn't about to give up, not just yet. The aspect made the man chuckle, and he made no attempt to hide it.
