With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.
As she placed her hand in his he Flash stepped straight to the front of the bar. Was it necessary, probably not with most of the patrons pinned by his spiritual pressure but he had felt some spirit power headed their way. even though the signals seemed weak it could have just been a higher level trying to mask their strength and in this part of town it could mean allot of trouble for them. He let up on his spiritual pressure all together when they stepped out of the bar's front doors but as soon as his foot hit the ground outside the bar a large fist planted it's self in the left side of Tsugaru's face and he fell quickly to his knees. A rather large man with too many rippling muscles massaged his fist as he spoke out in an over bearing voice.
"Tsugaru! What did I tell you about coming around here and stickin' your hands in our business. This girl is ours and you had better leave before I just change my mind and kill you!"
At the end of the man's threat he launched a kick into Tsugaru's stomach. Tsugaru coughed a bit as the man retracted his footing but soon after he was finished he began to laugh. He got to his feet some what shakily and was laughing heartily the whole way. After wiping the small bit of blood that was accumulating in the corner of his mouth he smiled deeply and began to speak.
Oji, you crazy ...."
He held his tongue as to not offend the lady beside him.
"You know good and well you cannot defeat me, what happened on the streets years ago has no bearing on how strong I have become now. Now, if you would please... Step aside!"
Again Tsugaru's spirit pressure was activated and the group of men were pressed down into a kneeling position, all but Oji at least. Tsugaru was undaunted by the half insane look on Oji's face and he reached back to his zanpakuto.
"Don't make me do this, Oji. You don't have the money to pay for the damage I'll do to you..."
There was no joke in Tsugaru's voice any longer and his personality had all but changed. Any grin or smile that may had settled on his face earlier had completely vanished and been replaced by an immensely stern glare.

Miu watched silently from behind Tsugaru, her whole body shaking but not from fear, from anger. She was angry that the man had punched Tsugaru and she was also angry that the man had called her his. Her hands balled up into fists as she continued to watch.
Calm down, Miu, Toketsuhime soothed, he can handle himself and it seems that they have meet before.
I know, Toketsuhime, but, Miu trailed off her hands still balled into fists and a frown on her face. He shouldn't do this. I'm a stranger. So why?
Oji wouldn't be consoled and, thankfully, Miu didn't intervene. He wasn't a hundred percent comfortable fighting around others as his zanpakuto had the tendency to destroy it's surroundings. He wouldn't use it right off the bat though. Shibatsu had taught him to play with his prey first and play he would. He drew his zanpakuto and flash stepped to Oji's right then slashed a deep gash in the mans shoulder before flash stepping right back to where he had been, beside Miu.
"You are in over your head, prey."
Oji was practically undaunted by the mans attack and began to charge towards them both with an insane howl. Tsugaru simply disappeared with his flash step technique and slit the man right behind his leg, on the opposite side of his knee cap. The well placed cut sent the man tumbling to the ground and he landed several feet in front of Miu. Tsugaru then appeared standing on top of him with an expressionless face.
"I will spare you... In the hope that you will change your ways. More over, I will continue to come to this place and if I see otherwise then I will... claim you. Now please leave, I'm afraid that you have offended me and my guest"
Tsugaru walked off from on top of the man and stepped up to Miu. Oji simply grummbled in his own agner and fear. The emotionless look on his face had faded away and he flashed her a grin. His zanpakuto was still sheathed as if it had never left it even though it was clear that Oji had been cut.
"I'm sorry that you had to see that. He's an old... friend. Shall we head off now? Didn't you say that you were going to go shopping? Care if I join... I'll leave if you'd rather not associate.."
He was worried that she wouldn't want to hang out with a thug like him now. The only thing keeping him from becoming serious again was the mental purring he could feel Shibatsu emitting.

Miu watched as Tsugaru fought the man, her eyes following each movement with trained precision. When the fight was over she turned her attention back to Tsugaru to answer his question.
"Sure," Miu said a little more comfortable then before, "you can come if you like but be warned I take my time. By the way you are a good fighter."
It seems that you are getting better at talking with others, Toketsuhime mused and Miu could hear the smile in her voice.
Miu smiled and started to walk down the street. She turned to look over her shoulder at Tsugaru.
He smiled as she accepted his offer for him to come along and he started to follow her as she walked. It stuck with him when she called him a good fighter but he couldn't help but laugh.
“I’m really not much but thank you. I'm nothing but an ant compared to the captains... and even you. I can tell by your spiritual signature that your level is higher then mine but again, thank you.
He was glad that she wasn't scared away by his combination of stupidity, rage and ability to attract idiots. As they walked on he wondered where exactly they were headed to and asked straight out.
"So where are we headed anyways? some girly clothes shops? maybe a shoe store? What sort of damage will be caused to my masculinity today?"
He laughed a bit and looked her in the eyes... which was a task considering her height. Her hair was pretty amazing, and he found himself wondering how she had gotten it that color. Shibatsu pinged him with the same emotional ping she always threw his way when he was making unnecessary jokes.

Miu listened to what Tsugaru was saying as she continued to walk down the street. She stopped and turned to face him when he asked where they were going.
"To a bakery," Miu answered. "The bakery here is one of the best in this part of town and I always come here. She smiled before turning around and continued to walk down the street, humming a quiet tune to herself. It was another ten minutes before they reached the bakery. Miu walked inside, her feet soundless against the ground. She headed straight for the strawberry shortcakes and the pineapple upside-down cakes.
After staring at the cakes for a few seconds she continued to walk around the small shop, her eyes bright.
A bakery? That's not bad at all and how could a bakery make him look like an idiot? as the walked on for a few more minutes in silence he realized just how bad he was at conversing. As they arrived at the shop Miu ran in and began looking at all of the tasty little treats. Tsugaru found his belly growling at the idea of eating one of the delicious pastries but if there was one thing he knew it was that sake' and sweets didn't mix well. Even if he hadn't had much to drink it would always come back on him... in a literal sense. So instead of picking up an arm full of goodies he simply followed the little girl around as she basked in the glory that was baked goods.
"So... when did you graduate the academy...?"
He didn't know if it was something she'd be interested in talking about but he really wasn't apt at talking to other people and the fact that she had chosen to spend more time with him was a little baffling to him but it didn't do much to diminish his smile and one could even say that he was enjoying his time walking with the little lady.

"So... when did you graduate the academy...?"
Miu didn't turn to look at Tsugaru when she answered the question, her attention was to focused on a triple layered chocolate cake. "About eight years ago. How about you? When did you graduate the Academy?" When Miu finished talking she turned to look at her companion. She didn't know why he was still here, there were many chances to leave and yet he was still here.
I don't get it, Toketsuhime, Miu said in her head, why is he still here when he could've left already.
Maybe he likes to spend time with you, Toketsuhime answered.
Her answer made him blush furiously. He knew that people couldn't be judged by their looks in the soul society but he had truly thought she was younger then him. As it turns out she has had quite some time to become who she was and he had only just graduated.
I... Uh, Graduated today...."
He couldn't look her in the eyes after he had said it and he found himself becoming very interested in a seemingly uninteresting pastry that kept his line of sight well away from hers. He knew why it bothered him, he thought allot of her even though they had just met. She was quite possibly the closest thing he even had to a friend, other then Shibatsu. He really didn't want her looking down on him... well, not that she could in a physical sense. He swallowed his pride and spoke the words he really wasn’t wanting to.
"Well, uh... You don't have to be stuck hanging out with a low level reaper like myself, I'll leave if you wish, Miss Miu"
It was hard for him to be so carefree and fun when he was so damn self conscious. He found himself almost regretting having given her the obligation to hang out with him in the first place. He had heard around the academy of how the officers and other high level shinigami hated dealing with low level trash like him.
"Of all the weaknesses, Shibatsu..."
He truly hated feeling sorry for himself but it was a weakness in not knowing others that he had developed in himself.

"I... Uh, Graduated today...."
Miu was shocked to learn that he had just graduated. It seemed like he was older then her. She was confused when he turned his head to stare at a pastry. Miu knew that he was probably shocked about learning that she was older then him but she still didn't know why he turned away. What he said next explained why.
"Well, uh... You don't have to be stuck hanging out with a low level reaper like myself, I'll leave if you wish, Miss Miu"
Miu was even more shocked but her shock was covered up with annoyance. Did he think that she was that shallow as to not hang out with him because he had just graduated from the Academy. Miu proceeded to stomp on his foot and then she said, "Baka, I'm not as shallow as everyone else."
Calm down, Miu, Toketsuhime said in a gentle voice.
