Oh my god... Look man, nobody cares about what you have to say. Do you feel bad that the old site died and will never be the same? That's your problem. Fact of the matter is all good things die; it's natural. We mourn for a while, but we get over it. It's what we do and everyone understands that.

BUT

When our mourning lasts far too long, or it causes other people great annoyance, then its time to either stop or take it elsewhere.

You miss the old site? A lot of people probably do, but stating things like how this site is biased or making empty complaints or insulting staff won't do anything to bring back the old CoL.

I personally have no experience with the old site so I don't know what the differences are, but I DO have my experience with this site, and I must say, it is a very good experience. There are very few things on this site that I don't like, but even still, I don't intend on insulting people for this. It's not my site, nor is it yours, so neither of us have any grounds to insult the staff, especially since they have been doing such a wonderful job with keeping everyone happy and the site running smoothly.

I don't have anything bad to say about anyone or anything, not even you, but I wanted to post this so that you know that you're not receiving any support on your side of the argument. I'm not going to judge you on anything you've said, but I do want to let you know that it's simply not worth it. I want to ask you to please, if you're going to leave, just leave. Nobody really needs this, not even yourself.

That's all I wanted to say. Don't even worry about this post actually, I'm just a ghost included in the masses. So goodbye, and I wish you luck in finding a better site than this one.

In all seriousness though, the Tier system (at the present moment) is not biased in the least. Right now, I sort of half-ass took it upon myself to try and make it as simple as possible, while also making it fair in comparison. Quite frankly, I'm not used to having 'measurement' systems for powers, because I'm used to mature people joining a Role Playing site for their simple desire to write stories, not to say 'my character can beat up yours!' So, most of the people who complain about the 'tier system' I feel are just that; people who just want to beat up other characters <_<

Now, while I didn't take the time to start reading out every single post made in this thread (because right now I don't have the time), after reading the original post, I felt it necessary to throw in my two cents.

Quite frankly, the reason of the post from my point of view is just someone wanting to stir up some shit where it's not needed. Sure, things have changed; things always change. Ever since I joined (which was... prolly around spring time at some point), I was taking more and more responsibility on this board due to the fact that I had more computer time than anyone else. That, and the fact that I can apparently write better than average I suppose. I've written out an Applications FAQ for people to help them increase their Power Tier in their initial application, and even gave sample post examples.

The power tier, I feel, should be used to only thread out the 'wanna fighters' from the 'wanna writers.' Those who want to simply write a story and develop their character should be able to do so. I think, in my opinion, that's what Role Playing is all about. People who just want to have a strong character to start waging war all around the board... well, I just hate those types of people. They always have the Mary Sue character that's uber strong, a Vizard with dual Bankai, and can shit out gold and piss out diamonds while marrying the entire female cast of Bleach with a bra size over double D's. Undeveloped characters like that, I feel, should not be that strong in the power tier. That will prevent them from just pwning people who just simply want to write and develop their characters.

That's my stand point on the power tier. We could be without it, but unfortunately, without it, we'll get the Timtanks and the power hungry players who just want to write fight scenes with undeveloped characters. If your character has strong attacks, but your application is well written, then your character will receive a stronger power tier. Also; we're in the process of fixing the tier as I type this out. It's just that there's so many OCs, that it's taken some time. Hell, we just got finished with Vizards (though I still think I've missed a few) and added a new Master Level.

So, when you say the power tier is biased, I take full offense to that. Though I may have not been the person to have created it, I was the one who stood by it and managed it for the past few months, and to say that it's biased? Well sir, if you say go fuck yourself to Hikaru, then I'll shoot it right back at you; Go fuck yourself. If you have a problem with the power tier, then you should talk to someone about it, preferably a moderator or the staff member who managed it, like myself. And honestly, I don't know who the hell you are, so obviously, you just sat around and whined to no one about it. I'm on this site a lot, and I have never seen you in the chat, I never seen any complaint posts, and I've never heard a staff member inform me that a member had a problem with the power tier. So, if anyone here has failed in the direction of 'leaving the site because the power tier was unfair,' it's you. If you had a problem, you should have been mature enough to talk to someone about it, not just bitch and moan to no one then throw up a spam thread, dictating your reasons for leaving.

Hikaru; yea, he's a bastard. He doesn't sugar coat his words, and he could care less if you couldn't write your way out of a paper bag. Got a problem with one person on the board? That's not much reason to leave. If you've got a problem with someone, then you should be mature enough to either confront them, or confront another staff member. Yea, I know he's a dick; I slap him around all the time. But, he does have a good sense of writing ability and a good imagination, and when I give him a good shove to drive that motivation, he can come up with some good story lines. Yea, he's one of the Co-Admins, and yea, having a problem with someone that high up may want you to leave. But, saying that 'X amount of people hate you' is just an immature statement. There's always people who hate you, people who like you, people who want to have sex with you in a bathroom stall on an airplane over seas; it doesn't mean shit to the common man. You got a problem with someone, man up and face it; don't be a bitch and talk about him with these 'many other people' behind his back. Surely, I wouldn't give a shit if people talked about me behind my back, I pretty much expect it with the bitchy personality I have, but at least I tell it straight, and Hikaru does too. He states the truth, no matter how harsh it is. So, before you say 'go fuck yourself, you made me leave the site,' Go fuck YOURSELF again. Yet another fact of your immaturity.

Getting to the point about caring about old members vs. new members? Well, quite honestly, again, I have no idea what you're talking about. Unless all this shit happened before I joined, I pretty much organized the shit out of all the applications; canon, originals and so forth. We had a ton of people that were just sitting on characters, completely inactive, and we weren't certain if they were coming back. So, we had a roll call and cleaned up the boards. Old members lost their characters, unfortunately, but that was due to their own inactivity. There was PLENTY of time for people to post, and the thread was in every subforum, and pinned at the top. If old members didn't return to see it, then that's their own fault for their inactivity. Players, new or old, shouldn't have to neglect applying for their favorite canon, and the staff shouldn't have to suffer for being unable to move a story because canon Captains or Espada were taken to just sit on a shelf and collect dust.

Quite frankly, I was hoping for older members to show up. Hell, I even PMed quite a few to inform them that their characters were going to be lost if they hadn't posted.

There is no favoritism in my eyes on old members vs. new members. I just haven't seen any or little activity from the older members ever since I recently joined, and I joined to help out Ake with her new site, having come from Rebirth, and being someone with plenty of time on my hands.

I think Ake has done a GREAT job with this website. She worked her ass off bringing members from her previous site and worked to try and please both old and new members. I know you didn't state that she 'didn't' do a good job, but all the reasons that you say you're leaving is basically a slap in the face to her. Saying that you're leaving because a staff member's a prick, I can respect that. But, stating that the tier system is biased? Stating that we, the staff, don't respect older members versus newer members? Are you serious?

Try giving me some examples of these accusations. I'd like to debate this argument further. If not, then you're just a fucking spammer who's working to twist some panties and make people hesitant about joining this website, and if that's the case, then you can just go fuck yourself.

Anyways, COL has taken a shift in leadership, if our ways do not meet your standars, then it'd be wise of you to go somewhere else that does. In the end, your opinion is irrelevant because as you can see no one is going to change for you. You say that we only care for the new members, but the truth is most of us have been rping before we've came to this site and are just as expierenced as anyone else from the old col.

The tier system is fine, if a mod were to have an issue with a member, the another one could simply review there app.

Col is basically turning shit into sugar, if you dont like it it join the nazi or summtin' theyll understand. =\
