Zaru sat cross legged on the floor of the dojo. It had been literally months since his last fight and he knew he was rusty. The last of his fights had only been interupted and he was looking for someone to really test his skill. His zanpakuto, with its yellow and silver hilt curved in an opposite direction from the blade, was leaned up against the wall next to him. Zaru allowed a decent amount of reiatsu to pour from his mask, which held back most of his massive reiatsu, in an attempt to attract a strong opponent to the dojo.
Come on....someone.....

Azuma moved slowly through the hallway of the dojo his movements flowed perfectly as his feet silently hit the hard wooden floor. The back of his red short sleeve kimono flows behind him bound to his body by his black body armor with gold shoulder plates. His face remains solemn and reveals no emotion framed by long black flowing hair the only humanity can that can be seen within him is the fierce determination within his red eyes. A purple sash holds two short daggers and a sword in a black sheathe tied to his belt by a purple string. Standing at six foot five the very air around him seemed to gain a solemn reverent quality. With perfect stature he moved down the rooms his eyes glaring over each numbered door 9… 10… 11… 12…. 13. His room number the flow of reiatsu from behind the door revealed a worthy challenge. Placing one hand on the door, the light gleaming on the black bracer around his fore arm, a solemn and raspy voice whispers into his mind.
”It has been a while my lord” ”It has Hellias, I believe it is time I shake this weariness from my bones”
With a gentle nudge the door opened and Azuma stepped through sitting on the floor is a masked warrior. Perhaps just for a second a smile gleamed in the eyes of Azuma but he remained the picture of poise as he bowed politely with a gentle nod and spoke.
”Azuma Fengarez, a pleasure to meet you.”

(Naw man your character is fine. I wanted someone within the HL range so he'll be fine.)
Zaru had been concentrating on releasing reiatsu from his mask so much that he was almost startled when he opened his eyes and saw a very tall, armor-clad man standing in the open doorway. The man said his name and appeared very poweful by just his looks and the way he effected the atmosphere of the room.
Hi, I'm zaru and it's a pleasure to meet you as well Azuma. Now if its alright with you, we can continue any further formalities after our fight. I've been waiting to unrust my skills for quite some time now and I'm eager to get started Zaru said with a smile hidden by his mask.
With that, Zaru stood up and supressed his reiatsu to a more normal level for the time being. He unsheathed his reverse-handle zanpakuto but took no stance. He wanted to wait and see what his new opponent would do or say...

Azuma looked at his opponent his reiatsu had lowered and he chose not to take a stance, this indicated he was testing his opponent for a feel. The zanpakuto he wielded had a reverse handle possibly indicating an aggressive fighting style despite the cautious first move. Azuma then widened his stance placing one hand on the hilt of his blade.
”As you wish, prepare yourself”
Azuma waited respectfully until his opponent had taken a stance, then he shifted his weight on to his front foot while pushing of with the back he speed forward his right hand still resting on the hilt of his blade. At three feet his left hand shot out as he called ”Sai”, The low level kido would bind the mans arms for probably no more than a second or so, but fighting was a graceful art requiring perfect timing. As he released the kido he pushed forward his right hand drawing the blade in a swift slashing motion going from his opponents right hip to his left shoulder using the opening created by the kido. As the blow landed he pivoted on his right leg lifting his blade while snapping his left foot in a roundhouse towards the left side of his opponents rib cage and then pushing off using the moment of the kick to propel him back and right he landed facing his opponent blade sheathed right hand on the hilt with a wide stance.
(hey i took a little liberty thinking you'd go into a stance I hope thats not over stepping too much.)

Zaru saw his opponent place his hand on the hilt of his zanpakuto and took a defensive stance. The man leaped forward at him and muttered a kidou spell and before Zaru knew it, his arms were bound to his body. Zaru saw the man unsheath his blade and slice up from his left. Zaru, legs still free, reflexively jumped backward to get out of the blade's way but its tip still made a shallow cut on his stomach. Then the man through a fast roundhouse kick to zaru's right and he could not react fast enough to stop the kick. It landed on his right forearm and Zaru felt it go slightly numb.
He's strong, and fast...perfect.
Zaru flexed and forced his way out of the kidou. He had never been skilled with casting or defending against kidou of any sort. Now free, he raised his blade in an offensive stance and flash stepped to the right of his opponent and brought his blade up vertically in attempt to slice up and along his opponents left arm.

Zaru appeared to Azuma’s left his blade flashing up in an arc, sliding his right foot out Azuma adjusted his weight to the left swinging his felt forearm in the path of the blade, The Zanpakuto and armor collided the blade sliding along is smooth surface which extended roughly two inches past the elbow. With the second gained by the block Azuma’s right palm flung out towards Zaru’s face the heel of his hand heading for his opponents nose as he called out ”Sho”, a blast of energy flew out of his palm towards his opponents face. Flinging his right foot ahead he shifted his moment forward leaning towards his opponent as he used shunpo to appear behind him his right hand drawing his blade in a sweeping arc heading across his opponents mid-section before he sheathed the blade once more dropping low into a defensive stance his hands in front of him once more.
Azuma watched every movement Zaru made, the warrior was fast and strong no doubt about him but if he wanted to fight with Azuma he would half to be clever, the words of his father ran through his mind the timeless lesson of combat. ”Fighting is an art, every move should either gain an advantage or take one away a wasted strike is a wasted life.”. Azuma stared his opponent down his eyes reveling nothing, using the art of iaijutsu was his specialty and thus a brute force fighter would quickly fall to his hand to hand combat style, combined with his knowledge of kido.
”Careful my lord he still has not shown us his true strength after all his reiatsu dropped since we entered the room. Though if he does not take you seriously you will quickly defeat him.”

Zaru Saw Azuma's arm move up to block his blade. The blade made contact with the armor and slid off, it was quite durable. Then he saw his opponent quickly cast another kido directly towards Zaru's mask and before he knew it, he felt its force colliding with him and throwing him backwards. Zaru barely managed to land on his feet and gain some sort of balance but when he looked ahead for his opponent, he saw nothing. If he's not in front of me, then behind! Zaru said as he twisted his blade behind his back to stop the oncoming slash from Azuma. He then rotated to face his opponent but he had already flash stepped away from Zaru and taken a defensive stance.
Zaru was starting to see it now. He's fast, good with kido, and strong. And that armor doesn't help a lot either plus he fights smart. To say he's well rounded is quite the understatement. But neither of us are giving it are all, so there's no way I can say for sure he's stronger than me...or that I'm stronger than him. Time to change tactics. Zaru thought to himself. Zaru then extended the index and middle finger of his right hand. Hado number 4.Byaku- he then flash stepped a few feet behind Azuma. RAI! Zaru declared. Zaru then flash stepped directly in front of Azuma, crouched in a very low, wide stance. He slashed upward up the front of Azuma's body bringing his body with him to add momentum to his strike...
*If you flash step to avoid the byakurai, then Zaru flash steps to where your new location is and strikes....if thats alright with you.*

Azuma watched his opponent as he heard the beginning of the kido spell he instantly recognized the spell to be Byakurai he tensed his legs to move out of the way when his opponent disappeared the building reiatsu of his attack revealing him as he appeared behind Azuma. Quickly Azuma dived out to the right the blast singing the back of his Kimono. Suddenly Zaru was in front of him his blade arching at his chest the blade slamming into his armor the frail metal splitting from the power of the attack a very thin wound opened along Azuma’s sternum as he was thrown back. Pushing back and using a roll to reduce his momentum, Azuma regained his footing he had gotten cocky a mistake he would not make twice.
Quickly Azuma charged towards his opponent ripping the remains of his chest plate off his body to reveal the rest of his kimono as well as a brown shirt beneath it. His hand flashed out as he tossed the armor directly above his opponent slamming into the wooden ceiling of the dojo with a resounding Clang. Hoping his opponent would be distracted by the sound, Azuma closed the gap reaching his opponent as the armor hit the ceiling he came in low his right hand jamming up at opponents right shoulder, followed quickly by a sweep kick at his opponents left knee. Using the sweep to build up momentum as his opposite leg sweeps up to his opponents chin in a flip like kick he landed five feet away facing his opponent his hands in front of him his palms displayed towards his opponent his thumbs tucked to their side.

Zaru smiled as he felt the force of his strike slice through the armor of his opponent and make contact with his skin. The first cut. No matter how many times I've experienced it its always borderline intoxicating. Zaru thought to himself. But he had no time to relish the moment. Zaru saw Azuma rip off the armor that Zaru had just cut and toss it into the air resulting a large clang as it hit the ceiling. Zaru reflexively watched the peice of armor but immediately realized his mistake. When he looked forward again, Azuma was already in front of him and thust his right palm at Zaru's shoulder. Zaru twisted his shoulder to avoid it but was quickly taken off balance by the sweep kick to his left knee. As he was falling, Azuma threw a powerful kick to Zaru's mask covered chin whic sent him flying backwards into the wall behind him.
Damn it. I've never had the least bit of skill when it comes to tai-jutsu. And so far that's practically all this guy's used so far. At this rate, that's all he's gonna need to keep moppin the floor with me. I guess there's no choice then. Zaru thought to himself. He let more of his reiatsu flow from his mask and surround him. Zaru channeled it to his zanpakuto, causing it to glow with a yellow aura, and switched his grip on it so the blade was now pointed behind Zaru. He angled the blade upward and brought it in front of him placing his left hand at the top of the blade. Spark, Raijin! Zaru declared. Zaru ran his hand along the blade and passed the hilt. As he did so, the blade glowed pure yellow and transformed into a wide lightning bolt shape (2'9" in length). A blade of equal shape extended from the other end of the hilt which was now straight. There was a burst of brilliant yellow reiatsu and the sound of thunder as Zaru's reiatsu spiked.
You have forced me to release my zanpakuto. Consider this my way of complimenting your great strenght. Zaru said to his opponent. Zaru quickly flash stepped a few feet in front of Azuma, leaped forward, and thrust one end of his zanpakuto towards Azuma's head.

Mamoru found himself bored. The fight he was trying to enjoy was uneventful. He noticed a more eventful fight in another room. "Hm," he said to himself, "maybe this fight will be more eventful!" As he moved to a spot with a better view he heard the sad voice of his Zanpakuto. "Your twisted sense of entertainment is most unpleasant." said Kanashii Etai. "Shud'up!" yelled Mamoru, "I'm trying not to be bored, tea's not as enjoyable without something to watch." He removed his ribbon from his hair to let it flow loosely. "There we go, now I'm ready for my tea." he said as he laid Kanashii Etai down beside him. "I wonder if this will prve eventfull" He began to sip his tea as he watched the fighters.
