With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.
Ryon didn't smile once during the walk from the store to the second division barracks. He was dreading the upcoming meeting with Soifon. On the other side his zanpakuto's spirit was elated. He was singing the entire way over. Off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of sexiness! It was starting to get on Ryon's nerves. Although he didn't let it visibly show, it would have weirded Eiko out if he had shown frustration for no reason.
The two climbed the steps heading up to the 2nd division headquarters. Each step they climbed revealed a little more of the roof where Soifon would be residing. They finally got to the top step to see members of the division obediently practicing their hand to hand combat techniques. It was as if an army was being trained. At the other end of the courtyard stood a petite woman, it was Soifon. "Okay. . .lets get this over with.
Ryon and Eiko made their way around the training troops making sure not to get in their way or catch an accidental kick or punch to the face and arrived at the side of Soifon. OMG! OMG! OMG! Its her! Shes B-E-A-UTIFUL! Say something! Tell her I say Hi! Dr. Mijin sounded like a child on Christmas morining in Ryon's head. Ryon put on a forced smile and approached the captain, "Hello Captain Soifon. I have a favor to ask of you, would you happen to have any exceptionally strong poisons, or know where I could get some?"

Eiko was filled with stupid levels of nostalgia as she came to second squad. She always wanted to be stationed here, but it was not to be. She still had a smile on her face as she bounced lightly with each step, her bell ringing softly which made stealth difficult.
Soifon was approached, and she didn't seem to take notice of it as she kept her attention on the subordinates. "NO! Keep your leg straight when you perform that kick!" she barked at one of the squad members suddenly, and with verbal violence.
Soifon whirled around as Ryon spoke, then flashed an angry look at him, though that look was really common to her. She didn't recognize the voice immediately as he had just recently become captain, and she almost ripped Ryon a new one, but she looked him over instead as he looked like more like a Division 12 lackey... then she studied him a moment. "Of course, what effects do you want from it?" Soifon asked calmly. She recognized the Captain, and Eiko behind him, who was transferred from her squad's training.
Eiko was paralyzed when Soifon looked at her, and recognize her like some rodent caught in the gaze of a Viper, and she stayed quiet.
Soifon simply waited for the answer. As a master assassin she had designer toxins, and poisons to inflict upon a person, though she rarely used them as her Zanpakuto served her very well. She debated delegating this off to a poison specialist, but she decided against it.
Ryon noticed the motionless Eiko behind him. Guess that sort of backfired....she just made it even more awkward. Soifon seemed in an especially bad mood today, maybe it was because of her subordinates poor performance in their training. It made Ryon think of his subordinates and how he hadn't seen them in days. I should really pay attention to my division when I get back. . .but after I finish this experiment of course.
Oh man. . .that super sexy slow turn she just did. . .I think I'm going to need new pants. . .say something sexy to her! Ryon was already on edge as he always was near Soifon, and he didn't feel like dealing with Mijin either. You don't even wear pants idiot! And this is another Captain we're talking to, shes not just a piece of meat! Have some damn respect. Ryon felt sort of weird defending Soifon like that. But even though he had mixed feelings towards her she was a Captain, a strong one at that, and she deserved his respect. Fine. . .I understand. But just get a poster or something that I can hang up in my room!
Ryon began to ponder as to what specific effects he was looking for. "Hmmmm......well first of all I could really use the strongest poison you have in terms of lethality. Some sort of mixture of neurotoxins, myotoxins, cytotoxins and dermitoxins would be ideal. Then if you have any neurotoxins that will cause temporary paralysis but leave the victim alive that would also be great.

Soifon nodded lightly to Ryon, then turned to her subordinates, "YAMADA! SAITO! You're with me," she said in a voice that didn't shout, yet projected across the entire training area.
"HAI!" a male, and female member of her squad replied, then broke away from practice to quickly jog up to Soifon. There was nothing special about them, and their outfits were pretty default.
She turned to the rest of her subordinates, "No slacking! Keep practicing! It's your lives!" she said dead serious.
Soifon then turned to Ryon, "Come with us. We'll concoct several poisons, and provide the recipes to them. I'm certain they shall be satisfactory," she said in a calm, firm tone then she began to walk deeper into the Squad 2 barracks and her subordinates flanked her as they walked several steps behind Soifon.
Eiko managed to snap out of her paralysis, and follow as well. She seemed far more humble, and calm, though, as she followed along. She was a bit freaked out, and nervous but she hid that well.
Ryon watched as the two subordinates obediently obeyed their captain as if they were trained dogs. She instilled such fear in them, maybe it was something Ryon could take notes on. "They're so scared of you, maybe its because you seem quite mean." The comment wasn't meant to be a criticism or meant to be anything really, Ryon was just making a simple observation.
Soifon turned and began walking with her subordinates lock in step behind her. Ryon turned to Eiko and spoke in a quiet voice making sure Soifon didn't hear, "What an unpleasant woman." How dare you speak of my Soifon like that! A strong woman is the sexiest thing in the world! Man, when she starts barking out orders like that. . .it just get me so. . .excited! Ryon payed no attention to the childish remarks made by Mijin.
Ryon took a quick glance at the troops. They were moving like clockwork, it was almost too perfect. Even with the departure of their Captain they trained just as hard. Was it because they were scared that somehow she would find out they were slacking? Or was it because they truly wanted to train that hard? Either way Ryon saw it as foolish. Braun can only carry someone so far, but intelligence has limitless possibilities. Ryon turned back to see Soifon was already several yards in front of him so he quickly moved to catch up with her and the trained dogs following her.

"A wise leader balances compassion, and strictness as needed for their subordinates," Soifon replied to Ryon with a calm tone, "You cannot allow them to become lax, yet you cannot instill so much fear that they revolt." Soifon took the wise lessons of an old Chinese scholar to heart. She hoped Ryon would learn these things as he were a new captain. There had to be some leadership instinct in him, but reinforcement could never hurt.
She ignored the whispered words from Ryon to Eiko, someone she disliked seeing transferred from her squad as she were talented, but such things could not be helped. She pressed on with her subordinates quietly now.
Eiko frowned at Ryon, "She's a marvelous leader, and an excellent role model," she whispered back calmly as she followed a few steps behind him out of reflex. She'd do the same to any captain. She hated to disagree with a captain, though, but she had her opinions, and it seemed rather casual between them, but not to the point where they dropped rank.
It was not long until they reached a room dedicated to apothecary arts, and chemistry. Intelligence was not neglected, rather focused in differing fields. "Training is dismissed for one hour. Join your comrades out in the training yard," she said to the people that were already inside so they could get privacy. She waited for the subordinates to file out before she walked in with the two she brought from the training yard then looked back at Ryon, and Eiko as if she expected them to follow.
She went across the room, then nodded to Yamada, and Saito who, each, took a scroll from the wide wall cabinet, and Soifon retrieved one of her own. It was seeming at random, but they walked to a table none the less, and laid out the scrolls. All of them contained an almost laughable, yet effective, poison recipe of their own, but when laid out in a triangular formation the three single recipes became several horrifyingly potent ones as the lists lined up in a code.
"We will make all of these, and a copy of the recipe for the captain," she said to her subordinates, then set about gathering the ingredients from another wall cabinet. Saito, and Yamada set about it as well.
Ryon heard the word "compassion" but couldn't help to think that Soifon didn't really follow that proverb too closely. Compassion didn't seem to be in her repertoire. "Thats quite interesting how you see yourself Captain. But when I think of your leadership I think it more closely resembles the writings of the Italian Niccolo Machiavelli. 'Since it is difficult to join them together, it is safer to be feared than to be loved when one of the two must be lacking. ' From what I can see you are not loves, so much as you are feared."
Ryon turned to Eiko, "I never said she wasn't an excellent leader, as we've witnessed here there may be no greater leader in the soul society. But that doesn't change the fact that she rules with a stern hand rather than a loving heart." Ryon didn't mind being disagreed with, as a scientist it was something that happened often, and he learned to take it as constructive criticism.
As they all entered the room Ryon's eyes lit up. There were so many different ingredients and concoctions, it was a chemist's dream. He watched Soifion with pleasant surprise as she moved about the room. They had differed in so many aspects, so it was nice to see they shared a common interest in poisons. "My captain, what an incredible assortment of poisons you have here." Ryon walked around the room observing the different ingredients. "Great. . .we're in a room with two beautiful women, and all you can think about is science. What a shocker."

"That's a good observation, Ryon. I prefer to think it's respect, but each are allowed their opinion," she said calmly, not insulted at all.
Eiko nodded quietly to Ryon as she followed the group.
Soifon looked up from the recipes she laid out, "We do what we must to get the job done, and that cannot be achieved purely by brute force all the time. I'm sure you appreciate that and train your squad's bodies and minds?" She didn't expect the same balance of training, but she was curious about how much physical training the new captain believed in.
"I do request that if you make poison breakthroughs that you share them with me," Soifon said as she offered her own show of respect to the Squad 12 captain. It was a bit awkward to her as few captains ever visited, but she did respect the research they did.
Meanwhile her two subordinates began to concoct the poison recipes with surprising ease. They're her best poison specialists, so it made sense.
Ryon got nervous when Soifon asked him about his training tactics. To be honest I've been in my lab since wednesday and haven't seen anyone in my squad other than Nemu in a few days......maybe I should hold a meeting and see what everyones up to. Ryon smiled at Soifon, "Of course I train them in strength as well as mind! Ryon watched nervously and looked for a sign of whether or not she bought it. Woooooowwwww......lying to another Captain, and Soifon none the less! How dare you lie to my beautiful Captain of my heart!
Ryon watched as the subordinates professionally stirred the concoction which was now emitting a pretty powerful odor, though it didn't seem to bother them. "Of course, and if you have any breakthroughs as well I'd like to know. I may not use it in battle, but its important to analyze how they affect their targets. The meeting with Soifon was going better than Ryon had expected, she actually didn't seem like that bad of a person. Okay Ryon she intoxicated by the smell of that poison, nows our chance! Hit her with an irresistible line! Ryon figured it was as good a time as any.
Ryon smiled at Soifon, "Soifon, I think I may have something interesting to show with you. It has taken me years of hard work and dedication to build and is incredible to look at. Would you like to see my hollow collection?

"Good to know, Ryon," Soifon said leaving it a mystery if she had any doubts behind those words.
She raised a brow at the offer to see his hollow collection... she actually seemed to think about it... "Maybe later," she said, "You may have hollows that can help increase killing efficiency," she said flatly as she worked on a poison recipe. She didn't seem to know it was a pickup line. Or she did, and ignored it.
"Rest assured, Squad 12 will learn of poison breakthrough that require testing, provided we don't have a mission." Which gave indication as to why Squad 12 didn't have all the poison recipes.
Saito proclaimed being completed with the poison. "Good, begin the antidote incase of mishap," Soifon said, and Saito began immediately.
