With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.
Kiri walked slowly through the forest, enjoying the many sights and sounds that were around her. Ever since running away from the Soul Society, Kiri had found that Earth was much more beautiful, and it was incredibly relaxing to simply enjoy the peace.
Still, it was lonely here in the real world. She had very few real friends, and fights were very common. Still, she enjoyed a good fight, especially since if things got a little rough she could always call upon Irik for help. However, it was unlikely that she would run into somebody way out here in the mountains.
Unlikely as it was, a girl with blue eyes, short and neat black hair with only a few strands falling over her face, but more importantly, the attire of a shinigami: A black kimono with a slight split in the ends of the sleeves, the straw sandels, although no tabis, a white sash that was tied on the side of her waist instead of her front, and a katana: Her zanpakutou.
She came to the mountains to take a break from searching for some plant or another. She had no idea what it was she was looking for, and she had no idea what she was going to do about the plant which she couldn't seem to find, and instead she walked up the mountainside, her hands resting on the back of her neck as she took in the sights. And then she saw it: Another shinigami?
She decided she might try to converse with her, walking up with a friendly smile and a slight wave, saying, "Hi."
Kiri said as she heard the voice, then stopped slowly when she saw that the person behind her was a shinigami. Kiri was frozen in shock. Why would a Shinigami be here, in the middle of nowhere? What were the chances that Kiri ran into such a person? Unless of course it wasn't a coincidence. Soul Society could very easily have sent somebody after her. Kiri was unsure of the SS's policy on sending out people after rogue Shinigami.
It only got worse when Kiri realized she had set down her blade ten feet away from her. If a fight did start, Kiri would have to manage to get over there, and she doubted she could distract the Shinigami with Kido: She had only a little bit of skill. It would be best to simply play it safe, and hope that it was a simple random meeting.
"Sorry, blanked out there for a moment. So, what are you doing deep out here in the mountains?"
"I'm supposed to find some sort of plant... But I forgot what. Ah well, I'll remember eventually," Sora said as she sat down on a rock, peering over the mountains. The sun was in its set, vibrant colors of red, orange, even some pink lit up the evening sky. The clouds literally looked as if they were made of cotton candy of some sort.
She wondered what division this person might be from, but she didn't ask. After all, there were some shinigami who weren't even from the sereitei but instead were from the kido corps, or... That other place with all the sneaky assasains. It didn't matter as she looked up at the sky, for which she was named for. Sora...
"So, whatcha doing yourself?" Sora asked in a cheerful and upbeat voice.
"Im not actually associated with the Soul Society. Exile, you know?" Kiri clapped her hand over her mouth as she said that, and sputtered out a quick "Just kidding... hahaha..." But even Kiri realized that is was hopeless. But why had she said it? She had meant to come up with a quick excuse, and instead that total giveaway popped out. What was going on?
"That was me. Common, we can totally take her!" A voice nearly identical to Kiri's sounded within her head. However, the voice had an unpleasant undertone to it, like a combination of breaking glass and broken bells. Kiri knew that voice: it was Irik, the hollow within her. Why had she done that? Kiri's mild mood for a fight had all but dispaeared with her hollow's strange outburst. Perhaps she had simply been attempting to fufill Kiri's wants? That must be it...
"That doesn't really seem like something you'd kid about... Well, I don't care, it's not really my buisness! It's not like I can't just pretend I didn't see ya and go on with my life, right? After all, it's not like you're hurting anyone... RIGHT?" Sora said as she looked over at the other shinigami.
"And even if I'm caught, I can just say I didn't know. As long as you're not doing anything... Hehe, I don't care," Sora looked back into the colorful and beautiful evening sky, a slight smile on her face, despite the pale quality of her skin. She looked up into the air, taking a deep breath of it. She thought about her inner world, and she thought about the vast difference between her inner world and the one she was currently in.
"I love sunsets," She couldn't help but say outloud. She turned back to the other girl, extending her hand with a smile. "I'm Sora by the way."
Kiri smiled at the girl. She seemed really nice, and just what Kiri needed. Ignoring the protests of the being within her, Kiri held out her hand, while saying "Yes, sorry its my fault. Sometimes my little friend likes to get into some silly fight. Oh, and Im Kiri." She smiled at the taller shinigami, and turned to face the setting sun, standing for a moment enjoying the brilliant colors streaming across the mountain, painting the trees with bright shades of red and gold. With a huff she sat down onto the soft grass, completely relaxing her body and enjoying the lovely evening.
