Quincy Application

--------------------
General Information
--------------------
Name: Kyou Fujibayashi
Age: 29
Gender: Female
Appearance
Kyou's hairstyle appears as though she simply rolled out of bed and tied her hair back. When let loose, the strands reach her shoulder blades. Her hair is a very dark violet color, sometimes appearing as pure black. When tied, those long strands appear to stick out in a variety of uncared direction, despite the effects of gravity. Her bangs loosen and frame her face nicely. Her skin in a light peach color, and her hazel eyes are almond shape. They normally shift from a soft brown to an emerald green hue.
She stands around 5'8" which is rather tall for a Japanese woman. She has a very fit body, full of curves, with an average bust for an anime character, though certainly large for a normal woman. She tends to hide those curves with baggy, masculine clothes when in her own comfort zone. However, when at work as a teacher, or out for a special occasion, her feminine side does tend to sneak itself out.
Her Quincy uniform is a bit unique, as it does not appear as the normal solid white color. It takes a more light violet color, the robes less appearing as a fitted, high colored tunic and more of a unique old style kenpo martial arts uniform. She wears a black body suit, long sleeved. Over that, she wears white undershirt, skin tight, that stops just above her breast line. A light violet colored robe, modified slightly, with the sleeves cut at certain portions; once at the shoulder, though continuing from mid-bicep all the way to her fingers, worn as cloth protection for her forearms. Around her midsection holds a fairly large and thick pink ribbon, which keeps her robe fastened tightly in place. Similar in color to her robes are the boots she wears that reach halfway up her shins.
Personality
She has somewhat of a tomboyish persona, but does appear to have some feminine side to her. While she does tend to dress in a more masculine fashion in a more comfortable setting; slacks with a long sleeve button down shirt, normally unbuttoned, with an undershirt, she does not fray from dressing up, or dressing like any other woman when need be.
She has a subconscious preference to befriend boys rather than other girls. She does tend to tease people in a rather childish form, similar to how men antagonize one another between friends. Her dialect is also heavily masculine. She can become very competitive, and has a love for all sorts of physical activities. She can act childish in such competitive situations, in which a loss would certainly bring out a reluctant feminine side. Other things that would bring out her feminine side would be the result of being hit on, groped, or other such things that would normally piss a off a woman, which would also result in physical abuse by Kyou.
She is a strong believer of altruism; a selfless concern for the welfare of others. She has a strong focus on wanting to help others without any sort of reward. She gives credit where credit is due; not unfairly glorifying herself. Kyou has a strong sense of humility; the quality of being humble: modest, not proud, doing something out of the goodness of her heart, not for herself. She is strongly faithful to promises, no matter how big or small they may be. She refrains from despair and the ability to confront fear and uncertainty, or intimidation.
She is a bit shy in accordance to her own body and feelings. While she jokes like anyone else, she does have a low self-esteem, and is a fairly clumsy person. These clumsy tendencies throughout her life had most likely been the result of her low self esteem, and more likely than not, helped to mold the masculine persona she's well known for.
In accordance to spirituality, in relation to Arrancar and Shinigami, she holds no real harbor against Shinigami. Despite the past, she is a very optimistic individual. As such, she tends to look on the brighter side of things, hoping that one day Shinigami and Quincy can stand together in hopes to help protect humanity and souls alike.
During a fight, she tends to rely less on power and more on speed and tactics. Not being the most powerful of the litter, yet agile like a cat, and quick/smart like a fox, she attempts to read her opponents rather than head in, guns blazing, or arrows firing in this case. She relies heavily upon her own speed and knowledge of Ginto rather than her bow and arrow skills. Her skills with those silver tubes are far greater than her marksmanship, and as such, tends to keep herself a fair distance away. Despite being well fit and well knowledge in combat for a human, when fighting a hollow, she is not as greatly skilled as one of the far more known Quincy, or even that of a Shinigami.
History
Kyou was born in Hawaii originally, and moved to Japan when she was eight. She was born to well educated and certainly well profited parents. Her mother was a biologist and a famous writer, her father a physicist who had also written his fair share of books. Kyou grew up with books and technology, and as such, never really had much of a interactive personality. She was a shy girl growing up in school. She loved to read all the time. When kids went out to play on a nice summer day, she would instead remain inside, reading one of the countless books within one of their family's vast homes. With both her parents holding respectful, yet time consuming jobs, she never developed the proper interacting skills most kids learned in school.
Still, this never seemed to bother the girl. She preferred her alone time and grew up with quite the imagination. Unlike both her parents, who always preferred reality and facts, Kyou preferred fiction and the mysteries of the world. Nevertheless, Kyou was gifted with an amazing intelligence. She seemed to have relative ease in understanding things that were normally far beyond the education level of someone her age. School seemed quite boring for the girl; she would finish her tests early, remain quiet during class, stayed alone during recess and ate by herself at lunch. While her teachers seemed worried by such an outcast, her parents seemed to take more pride in their daughter's mind than her not-so-developed personality. With what little time she did spend with both her parents, she was always well mannered and well spoken.
When she was eight, her parents moved back to Japan where they had grown up, in northern Kyoto. Kyou was enrolled in a school for the gifted and impressed her parents further by continuing to grow and mature. With only the thought of wanting to impress her parents, she continued to excel greatly in her class. Everything seemed to be going well with the family. Her parents had well paying and well secure jobs, and Kyou was turning into a well matured young woman. It seemed as with all times like these, it was only inevitable that something would go terribly wrong.
Her parents were both sent off on a business trip, or at least, that was what Kyou had been informed. She was left in the care of a well trusted neighbor, a good friend of the family, whom Kyou simply called obasan. She was pretty much like an aunt, who had always helped out the family whenever Kyou's parents needed to head off for a business trip. They would always return with a stuffed animal for their only daughter and most prized possession. Nevertheless, Kyou could feel something stirring within her when her parents said goodbye to her. Something was different with the way they had left. Normally, they would be happy in going on business trips, though she could always see their attempt in hiding the sadness of leaving their daughter for the weekend, or at the very most, a week. She didn't sense the sadness... but instead, something else... fear.
She couldn't help but worry for the full week that they were scheduled to be away. Of course, when that week was extended farther, she really began to worry. Nevertheless, her non-blood related aunt Rita would inform her that everything was fine. Nearly four weeks later, Kyou would find herself adopted by Rita after it was announced that her parents had perished in a plane crash. It wouldn't be until far later in her life that she would learn the true reason behind the deaths of her parents.
Kyou would then spend nearly every night unable to sleep, plagued by visions of her parents' deaths. She grew a natural fear of flying, as well as with open water. She then began to 'see things,' things that other people were unable to see. It started with simple visions of blurred transparencies. Her fellow students had always found this weird, which had set her as an outcast among her classmates.
Rita had always been understanding of Kyou, and it took nearly a year for the young girl to finally open up to her new, adoptive parent. The elder woman explained to her that her vision was a gift, that the things she saw that others couldn't was something that would eventually become more clear. She informed her that were she to see these blurry visions, that she would stay away from them. As the months passed, however, these blurry visions became more stable, more clear... and it was then that Kyou came to see her first Hollow.
Kyou had the feeling she was being watched for quite some time. All day, she continued to look over her shoulder, expecting someone to be watching her from the shadows, but no one was there. When school was finally over, she followed her classmates through the courtyard, but couldn't help but to make pause. She hesitantly turned to find a blurry image not ten yards away from her. While she had been seeing more and more of these recently, she had never seen it up close. They had always been in the distance, unable to really be seen... this one, however... the more she stared, the more clear the picture became... it was a Hollow.
A monstrous creature toward over the newly aged eleven year old. She attempted to run and escape the beast, who only continued to pursue her. She ran as fast as she could, screaming at the top of her lungs for help, but the faint few that were around could not see exactly what was upsetting her, nor the creature of death closing in. In an instant, a burst of bright blue light rushed by Kyou, the force of which knocked her onto her rear, and she turned to find whatever that light was had pierced straight through the monster's body. The creature dissolved, muttering something before its inevitable death. Frozen in complete fear and uncertain of what she had just seen, Kyou dizzily turned and saw the vision of what appeared to be Rita, holding some sort of long weapon in her hand before she fainted.
Kyou would awaken the next day, to which Rita believed the truth should be told. Rita, like her parents, were a group of people known as Quincies. She then explained everything she could, answering any questions the young child had. Despite being only ten years old, and having been through such a traumatic experience, Kyou seemed to take in more and more information. Her mind was like a sponge, picking up the various terminology and basics of Quincy skills and hollow information like she did with her schoolwork.
Eventually, Rita began to train young Kyou when her Quincy abilities began to manifest. Despite her abilities appearing at such a late age, the girl seemed to comprehend and understand her abilities rather well... of course, her ability to actually control these said powers were far more complicating.
While she advanced in the overall knowledge, understanding, and history of Quincies, Hollow, and Shinigami, her ability to create her own bow, and her skills with that said bow were highly lacking. Nevertheless, her ability to manipulate spiritual energy and produce that energy, not in a manner of a bow, but with Hirenkyaku, had greatly increased. Sensing this, Rita began to teacher the art of Gintō, seeing as the girl seemed more gifted in that aspect.
And so, the years would pass, Kyou going to school and coming home to train with her aunt. She seemed to finally be happy once more since the death of her parents. It seemed in finding out her lineage, and the real reasons behind her parents always leaving her... she could find a way to still hold a connection to them.
There weren't many notable times from then on. Rita would train her adopted daughter and cared for her as though she were her very own. Kyou learned the relationship Rita had with her mother and father, that of a kindred spirit. It had seemed Fate had brought them together. Kyou could easily detect the spiritual presence of Hollows nearby, as well as start to see the spiritual ribbons of those around her.
Rita had always loved teaching, and had been a retired professor of a college. It seemed Kyou had also taken an interest in teaching, and graduated as an English teacher. Eventually, a few years after living on her own, Rita passed away. She left Kyou everything she had, since Rita herself had never had any family herself.
She found herself a job as a teacher in Karkura High School, of course, being drawn to the town like any other that was spiritually conscious. She works as a Literature and History teacher, and also tutors as an English teacher.

Origin of Powers
She began seeing spirits at a fairly young age. After the death of her parents, she began seeing the shimmers that belong to Hollows, though didn't understand exactly what it was she was seeing. Eventually, these foggy images eventually became more clear, and her first encounter with a Hollow brought her into the world of a Quincy. Her abilities manifested when she was eleven. Her adoptive mother/aunt, Rita, had taught her to both use and control her abilities.
Quincy Cross
Attached to a silver chained bracelet is a seven-point star Quincy cross in which Kyou uses to manifest her Quincy bow. The chain itself is roughly ten inches long and wraps around her forearm twice in a criss-cross manner. The cross itself is a seven-pointed silver star, with a dark amethyst embedded in the center by four different points.
Quincy Bow
The bow itself is roughly four feet in length, and when summoned, is brought forth by a shine of a very light violet blue burst of spiritual energy. When fully formed, the limbs bend back at an angle, like any other bow. There is no real significance to the structure of the bow that would be out of the ordinary, aside from the small placement of a rather obvious arrow rest (considering she's not as highly advanced with marksmanship). This allows her to take a more careful aim while producing and shooting arrows. It rests just above the hand grip.
Other Quincy Items
Seele Schneider - They are sword-like weapons used by the Quincy. Seele Schneiders were not created solely for the ability to cut through spirit pressure impacts. On impact, the union of spirit particles, in whatever has been cut, loosens. This is merely a tool which makes them easier to steal away. For a Quincy, absorbing spirit particles from the environment to strengthen one's weapon is absolutely imperative, and the Seele Schneider is the strongest embodiment of this process. It's much longer than a standard arrow and functions something like a chainsaw, and the blade is composed entirely of reishi, which are constantly revolving around 3,000,000 times per second. She normally carries up to five of these on her person, most likely found around her waist, hidden within the large pink ribbon.
Silver Tubes - Silver tubes are small liquid-filled capsules that store spiritual energy, and are used by Quincy for spellcasting in the same way that Shinigami use kidō. Like kidō, they are activated by calling out various commands. Since Kyou is far more adversed with Ginto than with her marksmanship, she carries a good amount of these tubes for emergency use on her person, usually confined within whatever clothing she may be wearing at the time, normally around her wrists, hidden by clothed ribbon or wrist bands.

Abilities
--------------------
Ransōtengai
- Description of Attack - This is a high level technique that allows the user to control their body parts using strings of spirit energy controlled by their brain, forming lines or strings out of countless spiritrons. By using this technique, the user can control their body as one would a puppet, allowing them to move freely despite paralysis, broken limbs, or any other force that would impede normal movement.
- Type - Defensive
- Range - Self
- Limitation - This takes both a great deal of concentration and spiritual energy from Kyou herself. While this technique allows one to continue fighting without the worry of dislocating joints or broken bones, this is also a very dangerous technique, as one would be basically pushing their body beyond their limits. It takes roughly a third of her full spiritual energy to perform this ability, and she can only keep this ability going for three minutes. Beyond this, she risks using up any reserve spiritual energy, as well as either her own loss of Quincy abilities, or worse, her own death.
Licht Ducha - lit. Light Shower
- Description of Attack - Similar to Licht Regen, a large amount of Reiryoku is gathered at Kyou's bow-wielding forearm. With a pull back of the string, she unleashes nearly 800 arrows with a single burst. These arrows are a full volley, covering a radius of ten meters.
- Type - Offensive, Long Range
- Range - 50 meters
- Limitation - The arrows can aimed at the initial burst, though with an aim of the bow, can alter their course accordingly. Nevertheless, they can only travel in a straight line, firing roughly 50 arrows per second, taking roughly eight full seconds for the attack to finish. This takes up a great portion of Kyou's overall spiritual energy, roughly a third, to perform this attack.
Sello Ruptura - lit. Seal Break
- Description of Attack - This is her most powerful ability, and most costly. Kyou gathers a great deal of reiatsu and shoots a single, yet powerful arrow into the ground. This arrow disperses into seven different directions with then surrounds hers with seven pillars of high-rising spiritual energy, appearing like violet flames, within a fifty meters in radius and reaching roughly fifteen to twenty meters up. Powerful winds spiral around the pillars, allowing her more time to gather further energy for the attack. She appears to almost levitate up with the sudden rush of spiritual energy, and with a throw of her arms, her reiatsu explodes within that radius.
- Type - Offensive
- Range - Fifty Meter Radius
- Limitation - As being one of her most powerful attacks, it certainly drains nearly every drop of her spiritual energy. While taking a slight appearance to that of the Gintō technique Sprenger, it holds a more circular appearance, and the blast certainly isn't as flashy upward flame as it is a short expulsion of pure energy. In order to produce this attack while fighting an areal bout, she instead uses her bow as apposed to firing an arrow, placing it at her feet in order to create the initial surrounding pillars. The pillars act to attempt to keep those trapped in the strong winds, though those of higher spiritual tier level can easily break from the attack. While being her strongest attack, those above her tier, depending upon how high, will certainly be able to escape the strong initial winds, or certainly withstand the resulting blast.

The sun had just set over the horizon, bringing a nice tint of golden red over the city. Kyou stood atop of the school building, looking down as the mass of students hastily retreated from their prison in order to fulfill the enjoyment of the extended weekend. She smiled blissfully as she took in the flavored scent of the warm tea cup within her hands. Her eyes closed softly as the breeze came to sweep strands of her dark violet hair from her field of view. It had been quite the busy exam week, but with her students working hard, it seemed testing was finally over, and even she could sit back and enjoy the nice, quiet, and certainly relaxing three-day weekend.
She made her way back into the main office, her desk a bit of a mess, yet still able to find the things she needed. She placed the empty cup down upon a stack of papers, and began to pack up her papers in preparation to leave. Like her students, she certainly had her own plans for relaxation for the weekend; a nice stay at a spa up in the mountains. It was something she had been looking forward to all year and had planned for the trip accordingly. It would certainly be the highlight of her year.
"Fujibayashi!"
"H-hai!" Kyou blinked and stood hastily at her name being called. It was one of the administrators who, for reasons still unknown to her, was always on her case about something. It wasn't her fault that things had a tendency to slip her mind, or that she had accidentally spilled an entire tray of soup dishes on his lap during last years Christmas party. Everyone knew she was clumsy, and yet they gave her the tray to bring out to the tables! She didn't want to do it!
"Why haven't I received your exam results? I need to submit them by the end of the day!"
"Kuso!!" Kyou began cursing to herself as she fumbled around her desk, looking for the exams she had picked up earlier in the week. She had never even thought of the fact that she needed to correct the exams, let alone, submit them to the administration. There were so many papers stacked on her desk, which ones were the exams?! Crap! They're all mixed together! "It'll take days sorting this mess out!"
"I don't want you to leave your desk until the results are finished!"
And with that said, Kyou's tears began to flow like waterfalls as the other teachers, with their neat and proper desks, began to leave for the day. Even thirty minutes later, Kyou was sitting at her desk, sobbing rather comically over the fact that she had already put in a down payment on her stay at the springs... non-refundable, and she needed to be there before night fall. It took hours to get there... this mess... yea... she wasn't going anywhere...
