With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.
Kasai Rain was trying to have a good day today. Any day that was Akaharu-free was a good one. But of course, knowing his luck, it wasn't going to be Akaharu-free at all, was it? He sighed, and nursed his healing hands. The wall had been stubborn, but he had been even more stubborn, and gotten this injury because of it. Then again, it could've been worse if he hadn't caught that rock.
That's when he noticed it. The token wobble of a person on crutches. No. It couldn't be. Crap. And she was coming his way. He grimaced. Looks like his good day just turned worse. But he was going to try not to make a scene this time...
I'll simply ignore her as she walks past, she may not even notice me...
Of course, his desire for solitude--or, rather, a lack of Akaharu--would go unsatisfied. She hobbled his way, a smirk on her face. Of course, she wasn't smirking because she was having a stroke of complacence. She was smirking because she'd forgotten to put her crutches before her foot just a few minutes ago, and she'd fallen onto her leg. Her smirk wasn't so much a smirk as it was a pained expression. Of course, her eyes narrowed when she saw Kasai. She was going to pass him, but, she couldn't help but point something out...
"Hi Crybaby-sama," she taunted without giving him a second glance. Of course, they were in public and any talk about what happened, she hoped to keep it down to a minimum. Besides that, she wasn't planning on staying. Just a hit and run. But, then again, she did want payback.
But she didn't...
But she did.
She didn't look at him, but instead continued to hobble onwards as she spoke. "Actually, the last time I've seen a guy cry over a girl I was seven or eight. And my aunt died. And Saito was the guy. If you're gonna pull some shit out of a hat like, "I'm so in looooove" then just can it~."

Kasai sat there, trying to ignore her. But he just couldn't. This was pissing him off too much.So he grinned. and looked up at her.
"You really think that I would cry over your sorry ass, Akaharu? Never. Maybe becuase I knew that you were beyond my help, but that's about it. But all in all? I DO feel something for you, Akaharu. I feel sorry for you. Because I know this - You're DEAD inside. Nothing but a heartless little bitch. I don't know why I tried to help your family in the first place..."
Kasai sighed.
"And if all you came to da was insult me, then keep walking... Or hobbling, in your case..." He sighed again. Today was supposed to be Akaharu-FREE!
"Oh, Kasai, that reminds me," Akaharu said, stopping where she stood. "If you were trying to help me, then why did you push me down those stairs? Even though you saw? Why did you piss Saito off to the point of wanting to punch you? To the point of actually following through with it? To the point of angering a man that never gets angry in front of anyone unless I'm causing it. You're right. I'm just as heartless as a hollow. You know what? I'm glad I do. Because that way, I don't feel the pain you only know how to complain about."
Her violet stare remained straight ahead. She wasn't going to look at Kasai. "And you might want to think about expanding that vocabulary of yours. You won't get far if all that people ever hear you say are expletives."
She refused to look at him. Yeah, she was hurt. Not because of the insults, but because of her uncle. Ew. She'd need to get her brain checked later...

Kasai sighed. I.. I guess that I haven't handled this properly... He looked directly at Akaharu.
"You're a smart girl, Akaharu, so think. Gasoline ignites at about 250 degrees centigrade. I used a full pail in my Hexaflare. Enough to set fire to your skin, even at the distance you were. I gave you a broken leg, which will eventually heal. I saw the stairs, and yeah, you had me annoyed, Akaharu. But you're too stubborn to see this. Had you NOT been down those stairs at the time that I had fired my attack, you would be DEAD. DEAD! And if that was the result, would your uncle have simply punched me in the jaw? I deserved that punch." Kasai looked at Akaharu, now fuming, waiting for a reply.
I know her well enough to guess that she won't give a shit about that, and will probably reply to this with some sarcastic comment...
"You don't think I have the ability to get out of the way? You give yourself too much credit, Kasai. You and I both know that we'd never last a minute in a real fight with something other than weak hollows, hell, I don't fight. You put yourself above everyone else in your mind, and me? I'm umatched at one thing, and one thing only. And that one thing could get me arrested. You, however, consider yourself to be brilliant in far too many categories. You keep wandering around with that complacence of yours, and see how many people will hate you for it," Akaharu said, quite annoyed by Kasai treating her as if she was weak. She was, but she didn't want to admit it. And she didn't want to talk about hollows in a public place either.
She was just too stuborn. She frowned as she hobbled another step or two, not looking back. She didn't have to. She knew he was standing behind her, she knew he'd probably be offended, but she didn't care. Her remark wasn't as sarcastic as she assumed Kasai had thought.

Kasai looked at Akaharu, indifferent to what she had said. He'd been insulted plenty of times in his life. This was no different to then, and so he didn't care about her insults. He simply narrowed his eyes, and grimaced.
"If I have my complacence, you have your 'aloneness', if that was a word. You don't know how many people I have heard insult you for it. But then again, I guess that you don't care either... Woud I be correct in saying that?" He sighed, and looked up into the sky.
"We all have our own little quirks, Akaharu. But you... you have more than most. And that's what I respect about you. You can simply accept those as facets of your own self, and acknowledge that you've got them. Hmph. But you lack one thing. And even if you hate me, at least try to give your uncle the respect he deserves. He cares a lot more than you think..." With that, Kasai Rain slowly began to walk away, contemplating in the hope that he could still salvage the rest of the day as being 'Akaharu-free...'[
"You think living in solitude, even when being surrounded by people is a bad thing?" Akaharu asked, not taking a step, not looking at Kasai. She let out a chuckle. "I'm alone because I seek solitude. What's your excuse? Because when you push people away, it's because they just don't like you. In my case, I want to push people away. Whether they realize it or not. Saito isn't excused from this."
She shook her head, and she hobbled onwards in the opposite direction. She hated these stupid crutches, making it nearly impossible to push away people who thought they were everyone's mother. It was surprising how many people had decided this. Painful too.
She wasn't going to listen to Kasai, she already knew why she 'hated' her uncle and it wasn't any of his concern. The only thoughts that ran through her head on the subject were distorted and strange, seeing as it was Akaharu's mind thinking them. I don't hate him, I want him to think I do. I don't hate Kasai either, but I don't want him to think we're friends.

Kasai ignored Akaharu's final words, and simply kept walking. He really had no patience for her anymore, not like he used to have. He sighed, and thought about turning back, somehow trying to redeem himself within her eyes, But he knew that it was worth nothing to the girl, he knew that it would simply be rebuked by a barrage of sarcastic comments. And he knew that he deserved it. But he kept his head up, and left the park, hoping for a day without any of this.
I want to try and be friends, Akaharu, but you're not worth it, frankly...
