[OOC Note: This character is based off another character, and was supposed to be continued to play off as a Vizard turning into a full Arrancar. However, since the player is no longer on this site, I would still like to play out this storyline. As such, this is an Event character only, and will only be used for a single storyline.

Another note: This character, while created by myself, will be played by another. I am simply trying to complete the storyline that was discussed by the original creator of Ai. Since I do not want to play the story by myself, Raven will be taking this character over upon its completion.

Appearance

Regardless of how many centuries she has lived, she looks like a girl simply in her late twenties, early thirties. She stands around 5'6, 5'7 with a rather athletic build. With a fair complexion, dark eyes, very long silky black hair tied back into a pony-tail. She is dressed somewhat in the style of a samurai, though incredibly haphazard and unrefined and disorderly. Hanging off of the overlapping belts holding up her black hakama is, what seems like, an old Captain's haori (she wears no gi) that to say the least is very worn, torn and tattered.

Traditional undergarment white clothe wraps cover her chest and upper mid-driff. On her hands up to the shoulders are part of clothe kendo-style black fingerless clothe gauntlets with white wraps, and on the back of left hand is a diamond shaped white clothe pad with the Kyouraku family emblem sewn in black on the back of it, though has now seemed to have been scratched off completely. Lastly, around he neck is a black silk ribbon choker.

The remains of her hollow mask are collected on the top left portion of her face, appearing like anime-style spiked up strands of hair; three spikes upward, curving back and to the left, with one toward the middle of her face curving straight down. Her hollow hole is located in the center of her chest, just above her breasts and below her neck line. Over her left eye, there seems to be a green tattoo marking. It holds no real significance other than appearing like the mouth of a hollow.

Personality

Aikou's personality has been the most drastic change. Rather than acting like a newborn, Aikou seems to hold more amnesia-based tendencies. She seems to understand what's going on around her (unlike other newly born Arrancar), and follows any order given to her without question. Still, she can easily be seen lost in her thoughts, or staring off into the distance for reasons unknown to even herself. She feels that something is missing in her life, something very important, but is uncertain of exactly what it is. Despite this feeling, it is fully guaranteed by those who helped to create her that her memories will never return.

She is very loyal to the Espada and Hueco Mundo. The thought of working against them in anyway, shape or form has never even crossed her mind. Most consider her a fairly boring person, as she doesn't seem to hold any sort of leisure activity. She finds the sands of Hueco Mundo to be calming. She does find enjoyment in her own solitude, and finds time to relax. While always seeming to express an aura of seriousness, she is a fairly level-headed woman. She finds that she enjoys night rather than day.

History

This history of this particular Arrancar is very unique. While many have held human lives that were soon turned to Hollows, the history of Aikou takes quite a different path. Aikou was once known as a Vizard, named Ai Kyouraku. The history of Aikou starts with her life, not as a Hollow, not even as a Vizard, but as a Shinigami.

Ai was born to the noble house of the Kyouraku family, under Kayo and Goro Kyouraku. She had one odler sister, Amaya, who was well versed in Kidou, whom eventually became a high-ranking seated officer of the Kidou Corps. Ai had eventually climbed up the ranks of the Eleventh Division, then the Eight Division to become its Captain. While much could be said during the hard trials she had to face and many of those could be mentioned, one in particular ended up changing Ai’s life completely.

While the details of the incident remained forever hidden from the Gotei 13, and perhaps, all of Soul Society itself, corruption and despair awaited the young Fourth Seat of the Eleventh Division. Ai volunteered to aid her sister Amaya, the Fourth Seat of the Kidou Corps in what had seemed like, a normal mission to dispatch a Hollow near the bordering forests of Rukongai. This battle, however, had marked the first step in Ai’s inevitable infection that would soon turn her into a full blown Vizard. The hollows draining ability somehow managed to infect her during the fight, and while being able to dispatch the Hollow with help, albeit nearly killing her in the process, Ai began to feel a change stirring within her very soul. This change, however, would not surface for years to come.

Amaya, who had taken a keen interest in the manipulation of spiritual energy within the very being of a spiritual entity; from Shinigami to Hollow, had started to notice this change. While the infection may not have been noticed by those around her, Ai’s sister knew all too well of the possibilities that may come to pass upon her sister, and as such, took great time in both studying and testing a variety of theories. Nevertheless, Ai continued to move up the ranks, and eventually became Vice-Captain of the Eighth Division.

Ai proved to be a highly active Vice-Captain, continuously off on assignment somewhere, whether it be on Earth, or the varying spiritual realms - she seemed to always be on the go and invigorated. Though personality-wise she is not very high energy, her actions though certainly exclaim being such. It seemed to slowly but surely increase over the decades during her training. The 8th Division Captain was also starting to take advantage of Ai's constant activity, using her to accomplish some of his own Captain's duties simply because she was eager to merely go out and do something - anything. Amaya on the other hand did not like this, more so because it was very odd for Ai, she knew her sister better than anyone, and running around as much as she has was not like her - she was normally more subdued than that. Ai's increase in ability also was an issue that caused Amaya a bit of unrest as well leading her to return to her studies going back to what she researched when seeking to save Ai's life. Amaya only noticed Ai's changes because they are so close, others only seemed to believe Ai was becoming more motivated and stronger with her new found position. But Amaya knew better, Ai was becoming less like the younger sister Amaya once knew in days past before the strange Hollow attacked in the outskirts of the Soul Society forests.

For decades while Ai went on assignment, fought, trained, taught students and Seated members below her, and even performed some of her Captain's duties - Amaya continued to study into the very nature of Hollow spiritual energies to learn what could be changing her sister so much as time progresses. Eventually, the change became so great; the ambition to become stronger, and the desire to rise in ranks, Ai challenged her own Captain for his seat. It was within this battle that she achieved her Bankai… and won the fight.

In the time Ai was Captain of 8th Division, she accomplished as much as she could. Making certain the Division members who were tasked with assignments and missions finished them within the specified time, and the reports of which were immediately turned in. She split the Division's unseated member into groups to be trained and guided by Seated members she selected personally, each group trained by whom were organized by skill level. She then assigned each group specific duties, and if their duties were completed, they were then to continue a training routine which Ai devised herself. Her goal was to make 8th Division a well oiled machine, and for the time she was its Captain, it was just that.

Meanwhile, though Amaya was immensely happy for Ai's ascension, it was Ai's eyes she saw when Ai took on the form her Bankai gave her. It caused her at a lot of unrest and concern for her younger sister. All she found she could do though was continue her studying to find away to change what she knew had been done to Ai - more specifically - what she had done to Ai, because she knew it was far worse than what she had originally thought or believed it was. For she realized while trying to prevent Ai's soul from being corrupted, she inadvertently did just that.

Nearly fifty years after the initial Hollow incident that had started to change Ai, and the mistake Amaya had made, it seemed time again would repeat itself, as a similar situation began to develop. At the center of the attack was none other than Kunoi, the very Captain Ai had defeated. Conflicted and confused, Ai questioned the man’s intentions… but it was Amaya who explained…
"It was him, Ai.", stated Amaya walking up from behind her sister, realizing what brought the Hollow there in the first place, "It was Kunio Izayoi who brought the Hollow in the forest years ago."

Ai's eyes narrowed in disdain as she looked upon Kunio, "Traitor.", she grunted.

Kunio laughed at Ai as he mockingly remarked, "Oh, if I am a traitor, than you are far more the apostate than I am, Hollow.", Ai's head tilted slightly like she was looking at a mental patient, while Amaya's eyes went wide in dismay, even taking a step back out of her being unnerved. This only made Kunio grin as he looked to Amaya, "I knew it. That ritual... it was no 'healing method' like you bullshitted to 4th Division, it was a variation of Hollowification to harmonize the two conflicting reiryoku and reiastu variations within her soul. But, as a result, the Hollow spiritual energies merged with the dark aspects of her soul, and her own personal Hollow spawned within her. It's just lying dormant in there, huh?"

Ai could not look more confused about what Kunio was talking about, and exclaimed it further when she even asked once again, "Seriously, what the hell are you talking about?"

Amaya stood looking ashamed, choosing to finally tell Ai what exactly she did, "The Hollow's spiritual energy that was corrupting your wounds... It was not just striking at your wounds, it was striking at your soul. The spiritual energies of your Shinigami soul could not co-mingle with the residual Hollow spiritual energies - the two were in constant conflict, and it was killing you. So, what I did was create a ritual to harmonize the two conflicting versions of spiritual energies within your soul in hopes to save your life. The result would be your soul would be tainted by the darkness of the Hollow spiritual energies, but it was better than having my baby sister die in agony before me. But, I was foolish, I did not fully understand what it was I did, or... more accurately - the magnitude of it. It was in a way, a form of Hollowification, that I more or less completed. You had no Hollow within you when you were corrupted by the Hollow spiritual energies. But, because of harmonizing the conflicting energies, one was able to spawn within you do to the effects of my ritual. Your eyes when you take on your Bankai form, they are the eyes reported of someone under the effects of Hollowification. Very, very few are learned in such things, so no one noticed when you took on your Bankai form."

The monologue lasted briefly before the inevitable fight erupted. Despite putting up the fight of her life, Ai’s inner hollow was let loose. The said Captain eventually met his own end, while Amaya attempted to once again prevent her sister’s death, attempted to close in on her. Ai, who appeared as though she were attempting to stop her inner hollow by stabbing herself, instead, ended her own sister’s life by impaling her with her own sword.

Amaya looked to her sister whom she saw on her knees with her sword drawn about to stab herself with it, "Oh God, Ai!", she called out and with an abrupt flash step just as Ai was about stab herself, her blade sank into the mid-section of Amaya's back before she could realize what was happening; while held onto her sister in an embrace.

Ai in further horror and dispear from this only caused her Inner Hollow to run even more wild within her, "Amaya! I'm so sorry!", she screamed in pain, but Amaya with a gentle smile laid her hand on Ai's brow. She could feel the soothing warmth of Amaya's reiryoku and reiastu pour into her. It felt like sunlight. But, it soothed and suppressed the Inner Hollow within Ai.

"For until you learn how to control it on your own...", Amaya smiled lovingly at her sister, "I'm sorry, Ai... that's all I can do for you... I'm sorry for what I did... I only wanted to save my baby sister... You'll have to go now, though... The rest of the Gotei 13 will be here soon, and they won't understand what's happened... They'll execute you, and I didn't sacrifice my life just for you to die...", with that Amaya gave Ai a warm sisterly loving smile as her eyes gently closed never to open again.

"Amaya!", Ai cried as she clenched onto her sister with tears streaming out of her left eye. But, she could feel the reiastu of the members of the Gotei 13 approaching, and with her sister's blood on her blade and half a Hollow mask on her face Amaya's sacrifice would be for naught.

In the years after that night, Ai wandered in exile posing as a Shinigami and avoiding the Soul Society with her sister's murder hanging over her head. All she had left was her training, and mastering her Inner Hollow and keeping it under her will. The Kyouraku noble house and the Soul Society itself over the passing years much later seemed to have completely forgotten about her. But, it would be three centuries after that event that the current troubles would surface. Ai became distant of the world itself, eventually leaving Soul Society all together and simply lived for the sake of living. She wouldn’t raise her sword against a Hollow unless they threatened her, nor use any effort in saving a soul from a Hollow. She would run into a Shinigami here and there, some attempting to take her in, though time would eventually erase Ai all together from the Gotei 13, and as such, others would simply find her face unfamiliar. It wouldn’t be until she came across one Shinigami in particular that her pathless life would yet again, find itself changed forever.

Kyra Rounin, a Shinigami who had recently been promoted to a seated position of the Fifth Division, found herself facing an Arrancar in Karakura Town. Having been set up; her own appearance being manipulated by a shape shifting Arrancar, her Vice-Captain Momo Hinamori being abducted, and the possibility of a second Hogyoku being created, the young woman finally faced her nemesis on the shoreline of Karakura Town. Ai happened to find herself smack in the middle of the incident, and though reluctant to aid the Shinigami at first, after sharing a few words, the two teamed up and eventually put a stop to the plan. During the fight, however, it was soon discovered that Ai found out that Kyra herself had her own inner demons.

Kyra was uncertain of where or exactly how it had happened. It would be Ai who explained to her the exact change that the crimson haired girl had started to feel over the past two years. Kyra had become a Vizard at some point. With the woman filled with distraught and confused, Ai inevitably agreed to her pleas and helped to train the woman in controlling her inner hollow. As a not-so-active unseated member, Kyra attempted to sneak herself away from her duties, or designate her own missions to Karakura Town, where Ai had decided to station herself, to meet her new teacher and learn to control the inner demon residing within her very soul. Eventually, the two had come quite close, and Ai herself had started to feel the very bond that she had once thought was forever lost, start to develop once more. However, she remained fully against returning to Soul Society, despite the younger Vizard’s protests of how they may have ‘changed’ or that the past should be left behind them. Ai was comfortable where she was, and she felt no need to push the issue any further…
Inevitably, Ai was confronted by an Arrancar. A promise of revenge was offered, one that stirred deep within Ai’s own heart.

The corruption within her own heart that had plagued her for centuries began to stir… and inevitably, Ai joined Aizen’s forces, leaving Kyra completely behind and unaware of her decision… it wouldn’t be until months later that the two would meet again…
Appearing in Soul Society, Aizen stood with a mass army of those he had revived. Kyra, who had finally been promoted to Captain, attempted to aid in the efforts in defending the walls of the Gotei 13. Standing by her new commander, Ai watched as several Shinigami and Hollow were struck down in the all-out battle. Kyra was forced to draw out her mask in order to try and put a dent on the plans Aizen held, though her efforts were all for naught as she too was struck down. As she fell, however, she would witness Ai herself cut down her Vice-Captain, Momo. Ai had only done this in order to prevent the girl from being completely decapitated by the extending Shikai of Gin Ichimaru.

Leaving Soul Society to lick their wounds, Ai returned to Hueco Mundo with Aizen and his group. Eventually, on a mundane trip to the Human world, after watching her hollow and Arrancar feast upon a few souls, she was yet again confronted by Kyra. The two fought vigorously, Kyra attempting to sort out the reasons why Ai would betray her, and Ai attempting to explain she had only attempted to prevent her and her Vice Captain’s own deaths. She attempted to inform Kyra that her inner hollow separated her from Soul Society, that she was no longer a Shinigami, and that she should no longer fight for the Gotei 13.

Kyra was ignorant to her words, and continued to fight, angered over feeling betrayed by the one person she had trusted her secret with. She confessed her inner most feelings to Ai, and in a desperation attack, used a level ninety Kido spell, which at that point was far beyond her own abilities. The attack was canceled out, though left both Vizards with little to no spiritual energy. Ai watched as Kyra, with one arm nearly completely destroyed by the Kido spell, the other picking up her sword, attempt to run at her, staggering pathetically. Eventually, however, the woman’s run was cut short as her grip on the sword was dropped and she collapsed right into the woman’s chest. She muttered the girl’s name repeatedly as she fought consciousness, Ai holding the far smaller and very fragile girl in her arms. She muttered a single sentence before fading completely from consciousness:

"Ai… I... knew... you... still... had... ... warmth... ... where... your... hear... is..."

Ai collapsed herself, guilt completely taking her over as she witnessed, yet again, her own actions causing the death of someone so very close to her. She apologized countless times as she cradled the girl. She brought the girl to the warehouse where the two had trained, and tended to her wounds, hoping the girl would continue to fight for her life.

Eventually, Kyra awoke. Ai continued to apologize. She could do nothing but see herself as a Hollow, and was completely shocked by Kyra’s words of comfort. Confronted by emotions that neither seemed familiar with, Ai was the first to confess her love for Kyra. Despite feeling as though she, by no means, would ever deserve the return, Kyra too confessed her own inner feelings, and the two had decided to run away together. They would remain distant of both Hollow and Shinigami, and simply live their lives to the fullest… at least… that is what they had wished…

It seemed their past would come back to haunt them. Ai and Kyra, while out on their first ‘official’ date since their confession, were confronted by Ai’s own previous Fraccion. Knowing that they were there for her, Ai hastily suggested the pair split up in order to separate the group and meet back at the warehouse. Reluctant at first, Kyra agreed… unbeknownst to her that it would be the last time she would ever see her lover. While Ai fought viciously and not just for herself, but for the hopes of once again seeing her love, the combined force of her Fraccion, who hadn’t bothered to even run after Kyra, were too much for her… and she was taken in to Hueco Mundo.

Branded as a traitor, though not wanting to simply end the Vizard’s life, Ai became an experiment. With the use of the Hogyoku and Szayell’s research, the life of Ai was sharply ended… and the birth of Aikou, the Arrancar, was born.

Holding no memories of her past life, Aikou only knows that of Hueco Mundo, and whatever knowledge is spread among her fellow Arrancar. She remains fully loyal to the Espada, and grateful of their choice in granting her life. Because of her previous life as a Vizard, and her inevitable rebirth as an Arrancar, her appearance doesn't seem to match her full age completely.

  *She performs it by drawing a circle vertically in the air in front of her almost equal to her height. Bright glowing red energy trails behind the tip of the blade itself, while bloody red energy begins to pour and fill the forming circle's entire center. It often looks as though she is truly carving into the air itself and making it bleed into the circle itself. She then flips her blade into an inverted grip and thrusts it into the very core of the circle at which it point a large, dense bright red Cero energy blast is then preformed.
  *While in Resurreccion, her Cero becomes a light, crystallized blue color, and is fired from her right hand. The tips of her claws glow a bright sky-blue color as the sphere is created within her palm. With careful aim, she fires the blast from that hand.
  

Arrancar Abilities

Creciente Luz de Luna - Crescent Moonlight [Lit. Crescent Light of Moon]

• Description of Attack - It is a type of slash meant to slice right through an opponents defense, while it may not slice through every defense it is still a strong attack. It is based off of Akoui's techniques of striking with precision, in this instance in the form of a slash. The mirror shine of the blade simply absorbs and/or refracts light into it. Then a swift horizontal or vertical cross-slash in the air a trail of light follows the blade forming a crescent moon like shape launching from the blade, and cleanly slicing through anything in its path.

• Range - Contact
  
• Limitation - It is a contact-ranged attack. This ability takes roughly 5% total reiatsu, and is her standard, most basic attack. As such, it is a fairly weak offensive attack in comparison to most, though still stronger than her physical attacks. It would be the equivalent of three to five physical slashes; similar to a 'death blow' maneuver to knock one's enemy off guard. Obviously, it cannot cut through 'seemingly anything in its path,' but hold respects to her tier level and below.
  

Tizón de Contacto Blight's Touch

• Description of Attack - Three pairs (six total) of tendrils suddenly lash out at the target, the tips of the tendrils like blades attempting to slice their target. These tendrils are literally birthed from Aikou's shadow, and appear as such. They are fast and accurate, though lack physical power. They are, however, used more for distraction than an attack purpose.
  
• Type - Offensive
  
• Range - Close Range, 2 - 4 Meters
  
• Limitation - These six tendrils stretch to a maximum of four meters. They must be cast by a light source, i.e., if there is no shadow beneath her, she cannot summon this attack. While fast and accurate, they are fairly weak in comparison to her own full-strength physical attacks (1/3 respectively). They require little reiatsu to summon forth, less than 5% due to their actual physical weakness.
  

Estrella-Luz, Estrella-Brillante Starlight, Star bright

• Description of Attack - Aikou curls up into a ball hovering in the air as blinding cyan light radiates from her body, continually expanding outward until in a flash all of the light radiating from her condenses back into herself for a blink of an eye, before exploding in a gargantuan burst of luminescent cyan light energy potentially causing daunting amounts of destruction within a forty meter radius.

• Range - Radius of forty meters
  
• Limitation - This is one of her most powerful attacks pre-Resurreccion. As such, it consumes 80% of her reiatsu, and is obviously, only able to produce this attack one time in battle. It takes nearly a solid forty seconds for the energy to be collected, which leaves her vulnerable to attack.

Name: Keizen Higure
Translation - Radiant Twilight
Call Out Phrase: "Tenshi Higure. Awaken."
Translation - Angel of Twilight. Awaken.

Appearance

A massive nodachi sword nearly matching her full height with an elegantly woven red and light bluish-violet cloth hilt with a white stone hand-guard in the shape of a perfect circle plate. The blade itself takes on a fine mirror shine all along its immense length. The full length of the blade stands around 5' long.

Resurrección
--------------------

Appearance

As she calls out the phrase, Aikou's skin becomes as white as snow. Her hair straightens out fully and becomes as black as night itself. Her hollow mask shatters completely, and her gauntlets completely transform her forearms. Dark azure armor fully encases the tips of her fingers to her elbows. Her hands become a trio of claws that are razor sharp, and nearly six inches long. Her body is scarcely covered by a black material that wraps around her back, around her to her chest, though leaving the spot between her massive breasts, her collarbones, and her torso bare.

A silky bluish-black material sways from her hips at the front and back, hanging loosely and leaving little to the imagination. Metal brackets help to keep the cloth in place that wrap around her hips and waist. From mid thigh down to her feet are a pair of feather-like materials that wrap around her legs and materialize into a pair of high-heel boots.

Draped over her shoulders is a cloak-like material that is sprawled out into raven-like feathers. They branch up at the collar, then the material straightens into cloth towards the bottom. Sprouting from her lower back is a pair of raven wings that hold no real significance aside from appearance (i.e., she doesn't use these to fly or deflect attacks in any manner). They aren't all that operational, and are actually more apart of her attire rather than a piece of herself (i.e., they can be torn off, though no pain would be felt).

Her Zanpakuto takes the appearance of a rather (over-) extravagant scythe. The staff stands at her full height, with a pointed tip at the bottom, and an artful design toward the top. From the ring to the beard of the scythe, it holds a more Roman style design, with a small figurine carved; a naked woman kneeling and appearing with her arms bent upward, as though holding the weight of the blade, with a pair of wings sprouting from her back to help support the tang. The chine itself is a very large, thick blade, extending the full length of the staff itself. It is very heavy (which explains the length of Aikou's claws in Resurreccion, which helps her to wield the weapon), and attached to the neck just below the tang is a long linked chain that is attached to her right arm's gauntlet. The chain itself is roughly six and a half to seven feet long.

Abilities

Onda de Drepúsculo Wave of Twilight

• Description of Attack - Similar to Crescent Moonlight, though formed into an actual ranged blast attack. With a slashing motion, Aikou collects, then releases a wave of cyan light energy. This wave takes the shape of her actual slash; normally the full length of the blade, shot in the aimed direction of her sword's strike.
  
• Type - Offensive/Long Range
  
• Range - 10 to 20 meters
  
• Limitation - It is a long ranged attack in which the energy disperses after 20 meters. It is a fairly basic attack, requiring as little as 10% of her reiatsu, up to 20% of her reiatsu, depending on how much she puts into the attack. The more reiatsu she places into this 'blast attack,' the more time it requires to charge. 10% can normally be fired directly, taking as little as three to five seconds of charge (normally the length of her calling out the attack). Up to twenty; fifteen to twenty seconds.
  

Desolación Ángel Desolation Angel

• Description of Attack - This takes the place of "Star-light, Star-bright", it an expression of raw power. Within the same radius, and following the same pattern of movement, Aikou curls up into a ball hovering in the air as dark, black-violet light (like a black light) radiates from her body. The energy condenses and is then sucked back into her body, before completely exploding outward in a forty-meter radius.

• Range - Forty-meter Radius
  
• Limitation - This is one of her most powerful attacks post-Resurreccion. As such, it consumes 80% of her reiatsu, and is obviously, only able to produce this attack one time in battle. It takes nearly a solid minute for the energy to be collected, which leaves her vulnerable to attack.
