Rinako's Flashback
Today was different from other days; today was the day that Rinako would leave home, and would come back whenever it was that she felt like it. She whispered her plan to herself, over and over, as she laid on her futon, her tiny frame shaking with excitement. Her brown eyes shimmered as she slowly raised herself from her bed, glancing around at the shack she resided in. At the moment, her father and mother were not in the room, so she had reason to be nervous about her plan.
Would it work, or would she get hurt and end up crying for her mother, for Reika, and for her father, Kotaro? She couldn't help but shake as she stepped forward, hands shaking at her side. Glancing around, she checked the room to see if anything was different from the night before. Nothing had changed. Everything was the same: old-appearing wooden floors, old-appearing wooden walls, three futons lined up on the floor, Rinako's separated from her parents' futons by about six feet of space. The room was fairly bare, just those futons and a chest at the foot of each bed.
"I can do this... I can do this," Rinako told herself, jumping as she heard the door creak open. "No I can't!"
Rinako spun on her heel to look at the door, only to see that there was no one else there. The wind had pushed the door open. Rinako let out a puff of air as she threw on a clean set of clothes, just a simple, tan kimono with a gray sash around her waist. She had one formal kimono laying around, but that wasn't important right now.
She was going to sneak out; that's what. She stepped out the door, letting out a call to her mother. "Otou-chan! I'm gonna go out for a little bit!"
