Shideki’s personality to say the least is twisted. The years he spent in Rukongai turned his once cheerful self into a quiet and closed up one. It was caused by people in Rukongai disliking him for his unique looks and choice of clothing. He himself couldn’t explain the reasons why he chose this way of dressing, but if one would have to guess it might be some side effect from his life before he died. All this lead to him not only being relatively quiet, but as well ignorant to the world around him. As closing up to it allowed him to avoid getting hurt by words said to him.Appearance:
But with time the suppression of who he was, forced him to try to stand out even more in his own unique way. As if he’d rebel against losing his true self to the world around him. This paints out his twisted personality even more.
In present day it’s seen as him being a very quiet person who keeps his distance from people in general, yet at the same time he has his little outbursts of sorts where his cheerful side comes out and shows itself.

From first look Shideki’s a tall and skinny 18 years old boy with more then just noticeable feminine looks. His movements resemble in grace the ones of Geisha, though he states that it’s caused by the clothing he is wearing which simply doesn’t let his body move in a manly way as the curves of it enforce the graceful movements on him, especially seeing that he’s wearing a black female kimono on daily basis.
Shideki as well tends to wear make-up. Not modern days so common black eyeliner and other dark toned make-up, but rather various shades of blue. And the chance that the person who meets him for the first time will actually think he’s a male is quite low, but still possible...theoretically that is.
Shideki’s almost pitch black eyes usually are hidden behind wild emo-styled bangs. But it wouldn’t be any big difference if one could be see them, because they are shade of black that doesn't express anything, even more - they appear to be like a mirror, that reflects what Shideki himself sees, rather than the what he feels at the set time. It has even few times been commented by other people that they doesn’t reflect anything at all – nor emotions, nor joy, not even fear. They are more like mirror of the world, not a mirror of Shideki's soul.
He somehow managed to talk his way out of being forced to wear basic shinigami robes, by proving that his movements are more efficient while wearing a kimono. Of course unlike a basic kimono this one has few extra cuts here and there to allow free moving, not the so well known small steps the geishas wearing them could make. Further more the way the kimono covers his body has proved to be an advantage for him – while wearing it he looks less of a threat to the opponent, due to his rather well trained body (a side effect of training to achieve Shikai) being well hidden under the dark fabric and giving his features a more fragile look. Even though it’s said to not judge the opponent from ones looks – in Shideki’s case it’s hard not to do so.
As far as Shideki remembers himself, as a soul, he had always spent some money to buy earrings; bracelets; rings and other random accessories of sorts. True, maybe at some point it had gone too far, but then again this was Shideki’s way of being himself.
All in all his looks are more then just rebellious for Soul Society’s standards, but that can't be helped kind of. Accessory wise the thing that stands out the most is the fake blue rose Shideki usually carries around holding in his right hand or tucked behind an ear. The first blue rose he ever had was a goodbye present from the girls he lived together with in Rukongai. At the moment that certain rose is kept as treasure in his room, while on daily basis he has rather cheap replica of it with him. When he was once questioned why he’s always carrying the fake flower around, Shideki simply answered that beauty of rose itself should be admired while it’s alive and only fake ones are meant for the selfish ones like him, who want to keep such beauty close to themselves.
When entering a gigai, during time in the human world, Shideki is wearing a green sleeveless kimono combined with black boa-like scarf around his shoulders. This basically is the only time at least some part of Shideki’s body, except head, isn’t covered with a fabric. Even thought those are only his arms, but considering that it’s Shideki we’re talking about – it’s already quite a lot.

Tsuki Kitsune and Shideki are very alike appearance and personality wise - after all it's said that ones zanpakuto resembles ones personality. Tsuki Kitsune same as Shideki is a male wearing a kimono and variety of make-up, yet unlike Shideki, Kitsune's appearance is much closer to the one of a geisha. Making Shideki appear as a mere cheap copy-cat-geisha who has been strongly influenced by the modern reality. Which as well is the argument of sorts the two have. While they both admit that the others appearance is a beauty in its way – they still don’t step down from arguing about that what make up and/or accessories are more appropriate and brings one closer to perfection, of course in their own twisted way.
The inner world is a clearing in the middle of a wood, surrounded by trees, which are so close together that they almost appear to seal the place off from the world beyond these trees. On one side of the clearing is a one-pillar pagoda, on which's steps the zanpakuto’s spirit usually is resting, playing sanshin.
When sealed it appears as a sanshin (refer to the musical instrument which zanpakuto's spirit is holding), which Shideki wields on his back. The sanshin is shading from black to pale blue, depending from the lighting and angle you look at it.Shikai Description:
Blade itself is hidden within sanshin, and the top of the sanshin is serving as the handle of the sword itself. Seeing that it’s sheeted within the musical instrument, it’s sort of a thin sword, in length same as basic katana, while blade itself is only a mere half inch in width.
Release command :: Mai, Tsuki Kitsune (Dance, Moon Fox)Shikai Abilities:
Release :: To release the Shikai, Shideki has to sheath the blade inside the sanshin, and play an accord on it, as he speaks out the release command. As the vibration of sound from the accord start to fade – the same happens to the sanshin itself. It turns into a pale blue colour and loses its shape turning into a dusky cloud of the same colour, just to afterwards reshape itself and become a crescent shaped blade.

In shikai Tsuki Kitsune takes a shape of a moon shaped blade in a pale blue color. It's outer side becomes a sharp blade, while on the inner one is covered with a variety of decorations.
General Ability :: While the zanpakuto appears to be a combat type one, due to it's still blade shaped shikai, it's actually a kidou based one.
Tsuki Mai (Moon Dance) :: (pasive ability) Due to it being a kidou type zanpakuto it is able to levitate mid air and Shideki can move it around to his will with hand movements. The ability is called a dance, because the movements for controlling the blade resemble a dance.[/u] The blade flies up above the battlefield in hight about 15 meters, positioning itself as if it’d be the moon itself and increases its spinning rate, spinning in all possible directions, which makes it actually looks like a moon. It takes time for the blade to charge for the ability. Upon Shideki’s hand motion, the spinning blade splits into 1 meter long spear/needle shaped projectiles and rain down in the general direction Shideki is aiming it, not further than 5 to 10 meters from the 'moon' itself (depends on charging time). It roughly covers a 3 square meter wide area. The amount of projectiles the blade turns into, from 10 to 50, and the range it covers when landing as well is depending on the time the blade is spending to shape itself as a moon during the charging. The attack itself looks like as if stars would be falling from sky, as the name itself implies.
Shideki himself as well can 'ride' the blade in a way, meaning he can himself jump on the blade while it levitates in mid air and even travel short distances while balancing on the spining blade, it requires quite the concentration, but can be a life saver at times. While Shideki (or if needed another person) is on the blade it can only reach a distance of 10 feet (around 3 meters) from the ground, yet at the same time the 10 feet distance is hard to maintain and control blade in due to increased weight on it, meaning usually Shideki will use it only in half the possible hight.

Shideki’s life in the Rukongai was rather peaceful after the first few years, of him being picked on and abused by the locals due to his looks, as he started to spend most of the time meditating in the small hut he was living in together with two girls who feminine look wise were on par with Shideki himself. Meditating as well calmed his mind and let him be more focused and not let people get to him. Over the next year Shideki in general was either only meditating or doing chores around the hut. At times varying the meditation with playing sanshin which he had with him ever since he came to himself after being sent to Rukongai. It was as well because the ‘3 sister’ jokes had already became tiresome to him and he rather preferred to meditate for another hour then wonder around the district and get abused/picked on.RP Sample:
He spent more than 150 years in Rukongai, during that time thanks to the meditation Shideki could bring out his spiritual abilities. He could control his spiritual energy at his level (as in the level of a person who at all has grasped the idea he has a notable spiritual energy, basically he could avoid hurting other people with spiritual pressure unintentionally) almost perfectly.
After few direct suggestions from the girls he was living with Shideki finally was set to try to enter the Shinigami Academy. It didn’t took too much effort to talk him into it, especially seeing that he himself saw it as a way to give a try for having a new start in a place where he might be accept for who he is.
When Shideki left the district to enter shinigami academy the girls presented him a fake blue rose they had hand-made themselves. They couldn’t manage to summon the courage to say that they’ll miss him, but instead they gave him the rose and made him promise that he won’t forget about them as long as he’ll have the rose.
In academy Shideki was happy to be just one of the students and have no one really pay much attention to him, seeing that everyone was busy with honing their own skills and didn't really bothered to give much thought to Shideki's looks or alike. It pleased him a lot to say the least. He could be himself and no one said a thing about it. Maybe it was because people actually thought he was a girl, and his name – Shideki - could just as well been a girl’s name, but he couldn’t care less about it.
While in academy he stood out in Kidou spell practice and classes, being on top of the class with kidou spells. As well notable was his ability to have quite the speed in spite of wearing a kimono. But more people from his year were more interested in close combat fighting, be it hand to hand or swordfighting and didn’t gave much care about Shideki’s skills. When the graduation was close by, he got an offer to join Kidou corps after graduating, to keep on honing his skills and becoming more skilful spell user, as they had noticed he had natural talent with demon spell casting. He gladly accepted the offer, as he found the spell casting more suitable for his personality as shinigamis occupation than being in a division which bases on sword-fighting.
When he became part of Kidou Crops, Shideki wasn’t right away put on active duty, but instead allowed to spend some extra time training his reiatsu control and spellcasting abilities. And only at present day he’s on active duty and an actual member of Kidou Crops finally.
