Effect: This manipulates the bandages to be used as tendrils, which can bind or slice opponents. The bandages are very tough and not easy to break. These can be manipulated freely and the edges are capable of cutting like a blade. This ability has been mastered.
Limitations: Unlimited tendrils can be created providing their combined length does not exceed 100ft. The maximum length of any tendril is 25ft.
Name: Reiatsu houtei (reiatsu gift )
Effect: This is a healing ability. With this he binds an ally or allies and transfers some of his own reiatsu to heal them or refuel their reiatsu. This is activated with the command Heal. If he is is just refueling then he can bind any part of their body or their zanpakutoh/bankai, but in order to heal a wound the bandages must cover said wound. He can use this to gain reiatsu from an ally, but they must be willing to give the reiatsu. This ability has been mastered.
Limitations: This takes immense control and requires him to focus so it cannot be used in a combat situation easily unless someone is stopping the enemies from attacking him.
Name: Sunaarashi (sand storm)
Effect: With this he points both hands at an opponent or object and launches a huge stream of adhesive sand that sticks to whatever it hits. This can be used to weigh down an opponent to slow them down or for traps e.g. if it hits a wall and the person then hits that wall then they will stick to the wet sand. The sand will usually fall off after about half an hour, if it isn't blasted off or when his reiatsu becomes lower as it takes reiatsu to sustain it.
Limitations: Whilst using this he cannot use more then one 10ft bandage tendril and therefore he is left open to attack when he uses this, providing you can dodge one tendril. The more sand he uses the more draining it is of his reiatsu.[/blockquote]Bankai Description:

He is one who hates to see his friends or allies(even if he doesn't like them that much) die or be in any kind of pain and will use every ounce of his reiatsu, even if it costs him his life, to save them from death and pain.Appearance:
Due to the death of several close friends by the arrancar he hates them with all his heart and does not trust the members of the 14th squad, not even Ichigo because of his part hollow nature. He also hates vizards because they are too similar to arrancar being part shinigami part hollow.
He has a desire to prove himself to other members of his squad, particularly the current captain on who he has a slight crush and to do this he trains constantly to improve his kidou skills, especially those surrounding healing.
Due to the nature of his shikai and his own personality he is not much of a swordsman, but will use his fists and feet, amplified by reiatsu.
He like his zanpakutoh spirit rarely asks a question unless he believes the answer is required.
He is a young man, who appears to be about 14 and is bald. He is about 5ft2 and has an average build. He is dark skinned because, when he was alive he came from the deserts of egypt. He has tatoos down the left side of his face from just above his eye to the side of his neck. These tattoos are egyptian symbols that spell out the phrase. "Within the pyramid, you will be reborn"Zanpakuto Spirit:
Instead of the traditional shinigami robes he wears a black jacket which is done up with a zip and a pair of black pants and boots. His zanpakutoh is sheathed at the left of his waist. He has a gold hoop earring in his left ear.
His name is Houtaijin which means Bandaged Man and he is an ancient, almost skeletal man wrapped in old, worn bandages from head to toe that look to be decaying. The only part not covered are his eye sockets which are empty, but filled with a green light similar to that of healing kido, and his mouth which shows old teeth and black gums. He has no tongue. Where the bandages are most worn you can see some skin which is also decaying and is very dark. Upon his head is an ancient egyptian crown like those worn by the pharoah and on the chest part of his bandages is the symbol of the Ankh, the egyptian key.Sealed Zanpakuto:
When he speaks it is a raspy voice, but it almost seems like a shadow of a voice rather then an actual voice. As he has no tongue he should not be able to form words, but he does.
He believes that everything must be earned including strength. This is why it is so hard to get to him in the central chamber.
His inner world, not surprisingly, is a pyramid surrounded by desert. He is usually found within a sarcophogai deep within the pyramid. The desert is devoid of life except for a small oasis to the east where several palm trees grow. When Areno enters his spiritual world he will almost always come up out of the water. However, if it is urgent he will be summoned into the central chamber of the pyramid. In order to reach the central chamber from the outside he must navigate through a maze of traps.
His sealed zanpakutoh is an egyptian Khopesh. It is a curved sickle sword with a black blade and black handle. Down the blade is a line of gold and part of the hilt is also gold. He keeps this sheathed at his waist.Shikai Description:
Return to life, Houtaijin is the release command of his zanpakutoh. It is very strange as it has no obvious weapon. When he activates it he will be surrounded in a light in the shape of a sarcophogai. The front will open and he will walk out. A black fingerless leather glove and a bracer will have formed on each arm. The knuckles of this have silver studs to enhance physical damage. However, this is only part of his shikai. The other part involves bandages that extend all the way up his bare arms. These can be manipulated freely like tendrils to bind the opponent. A golden ankh symbol is on each bracer.Shikai Abilities:

History/Background:
His life in egypt was short because he died of a fever when he was only nine years old and nothing major happened in his life before this. He stayed with his parents trying to get them to talk to him, but they could not see or hear him. Due to the small town shinigami visits were not frequent and so it took a hollow attack to attract their attention. In this case it was because of the large spiritual power that Areno was exuding. The reason for this was that Areno was a great descendant of an ancient pharoah on his father's side and when he was born this pharoah spirit infused with his and gave him great spiritual strength.RP Sample:
He was found at the age of seven by three hollows and instead of running he tried to fight them to save his family. He was about to be devoured when he was saved by some shinigami on a training mission. The shinigami sent him to the spiritual world. He did not stay in rukongai for very long because of his high spiritual power. He was found and asked to attend the shinigami academy. He accepted because he wanted to become like the shinigami who saved him.
When he was at the academy he found he had a natural talent for kido and decided to try and train in this. He did not purely focus on this though, he also focused on increasing his hakudo and hoho skills to a higher level. He could not seem to grasp anymore then basic swordsmanship. Due to his young age he was asked to stay on two extra years for private training to make him a more mature shinigami as he still had a very childish nature that would not suit the life of a shinigami.
After his eight years at the academy were up he knew how much he hated to see others in pain or dying and so he decided to try and join the 4th squad of the gotei 13 otherwise known as the medical division. Another reason he decided to join this was that he found that two of the shinigami who had saved him had joined this squad. Due to his skill he was accepted and was given the extra training required to perform basic healing kido.
Whilst a member of the squad he became friends with the shinigami who had saved him and trained with them regularly. He also trained privately as he wanted to become skilled enough to impress them.
It was 13 years after he joined the squad(so by now he would be 29, though only appeared 14) that the event happened that would solidify his hatred of the arrancar. On a large mission to earth he and his two friends were sent to Earth to recover some injured shinigami and heal them enough so they would survive getting to the 4th squad barracks. It was on said mission that the event happened. It was unknown what had managed to injure so many skilled shinigami and so a few members of other squads were sent. These were also friends of Areno's though not as much as the two 4th squadders. It was when they arrived on the scene they were attacked by three incomplete arrancar who overwhelemed them entirely. The shinigami left alive had been a trap to get more shinigami. It was only thanks to the skill of the shinigami that Areno managed to survive. Unfortunately, his two friends and one other were slain before the arrancar were defeated. It was then that he swore vengeance on all arrancar and began to train in more offensive kidou so he could defeat them.
It was whilst he was researching new kidou techniques that he came across the term hollowfication and the event that created the karakura vizard. From what he read they were basically arrancar, but had approached the final stage from the opposite side. That made them as bad, if not worse, because they became more like hollows...but at least they had not caused him any harm. However, he distrusted them because of their similarity to arrancar from the day he read the book.
It was one night after training intensively for hours and collapsing from exhaustion that he had a dream, though his dream was real. He awoke in an oasis surrounded by desert, a voice echoing in his head telling him to follow his instincts.
In the distance he saw a pyramid and he did not know why, but he was drawn to it. He walked through the desert towards it and extended a hand against the apparently plain wall and pressed a hidden switch opening a door. He entered the pyramid and almost in a trance like state walked through till he came to the entrance of the maze. A voice spoke to him again.
[blue]"I have lead you this far, to find your true strength and gain my power you must find your way to the central chamber."[/blue] it said. [blue]"Follow your instints young pharoah and you will find your way." [/blue]
Areno had studied Ancient Egypt as a passing fancy. He didn't know why, but he had found them fascinating and read every book on them in the great library and so knew plenty about pyramids and the mazes in some of them. However, this pyramid was ten times the size of the largest pyramid he had read about and from what he could see at the moment it was far more complex.
It took what seemed like days to navigate his way through and survive the traps, whereas in reality it had only taken a few minutes, but time flowed differently in his inner world so whilst in real life it only took a few minutes it did indeed take day for him to find his way through in his inner world.
When he entered the chamber his first thoughts were how sparse it was. Usually they were crammed with treasure. However, all that was in here was a golden sarcophogai. As he walked closer the sarcophogai opened revealing his zanpakutoh spirit wielding two swords identical to his zanpakutoh. He slammed these together and spoke the word. [blue]"Houtaijin."[/blue] Then the vision faded and he awoke. He rose to his feet and spoke the words that would activate his shikai.
[limegreen]"Return to life, Houtaijin."[/limegreen] he stated as he unsheathed his zanpakutoh. It was then that he first activated his shikai. It had taken him 90 years to gain it and took a further 20 years to master it.
He spent the rest of his time training his kido, hakuda, hoho further and became quite skilled at shunpo and was able to use kidou like soren sokatsui and raikoho with the incantation.
It was an average day for Areno. He spent the first stage by training in kido target practice. He was getting more skilled and more accurate with each passing day and could now combine kidou spells like sokatsui and Rikujukoro by reciting the incantations together.
However, it was whilst he was practising said combination that he was interrupted by a hell butterfly. The hell butterfly fluttered by his ear and sent a message into his mind. He nodded and then shunpoed heading towards the captains office. He was nervous about going to see her because of his slight crush, but apparently it was important.
He soon arrived outside her office and knocked three times and waited politely before being asked to enter. He opened the door and closed it behind him and walked up towards the desk.
[limegreen]"You asked for me taichou?"[/limegreen] he asked, which basically meant why have you called me here. There was no-one else in the room so either he was here first or this was a solo task.
[pink]"I have a mission for you Areno-chan."[/pink] she replied. [pink]"You know the most about egypt of any shinigami in the entire gotei 13, kidou corps and onmitsukido."[/pink] He nodded accepting her statement though he was sure the assistant librarian Ikazuchi had read almost every book in that library. [pink]"Your knowledge will be needed. We sent some shinigami to investigate a strange reiatsu near Cairo when suddenly our contact ceased. We do know the shinigami are alive, but are near death."[/pink]
[limegreen]"Understood. When do I leave?"[/limegreen] he asked. That was him in a nutshell. He didn't ask questions unless they needed to be asked. [limegreen]"And will I be going alone?"[/limegreen]
As if to answer there was a knock at the door, but the person didn't wait and opened. [red]"Ya called me Kotetsu-taichou?"[/red] the bald man said. It was the third seat of the 11th squad.
[pink]"Yes, I have a mission for you. I want you to accompany Areno here to Egypt and help him with his mission."[/pink] she replied. [pink]"You are to protect him and take out anyone who tries to harm him. He will need all his reiatsu to save the shinigami their from death. We would send more, but the zanpakutoh rebellion has left the squad with little resources."[/pink] Ikkaku nodded and shrugged. [pink]"You must leave immediately there is little time left."[/pink]
The two shinigami nodded and left. The two shinigami had conflicting ideals, one a healer, the other a killer and so they spoke very little until they reached the real world.
[limegreen]"Ikkaku-sama."[/limegreen] Areno stated before shunpoing onto a roof. [limegreen]"Follow me."[/limegreen] he added as a shout. Ikkaku grunted in response, but followed. Afterall, he had heard about the mission, in fact a member of 11th had been sent and if they had been hurt so badly there was going to be one heck of a fight. He was looking forward to it.
When they reached the area, rather then waiting for any sign of the enemy he activated his shikai and dashed across to them. [limegreen]"Defend me Ikkaku...I will heal them and get them out of here."[/limegreen] He yelled as the two arrancar responsible appeared. [limegreen]"Show these scum no mercy."[/limegreen] Ikkaku was surprised at the anger and disgust in his words. It was strange in a fourth squad member, but he didn't dweel on it and instead leapt into battle activating his shikai and bashing the arrancar away.
Whilst the arrancar were being distracted Areno sent out tendrils to bind the injured shinigami. Unfortunately, one had died before they got there. The eleventh squad member. He had obviously kept fighting the longest judging by his injuries. The death saddened him greatly, but he understood it. [limegreen]"They died doing what they loved."[/limegreen] he he whispered and then focused his reiatsu. This was going to be very draining of his reiatsu. [limegreen]"Heal."[/limegreen] His reiatsu began to flow down the bandages and slowly heal the wounds. He did not need to completely heal them. He just needed to get them to stable condition so he could get them back.
He glanced at Ikkaku. The second arrancar seemed to be giving him trouble. He knew Ikkaku as an eleventh squad would hate him to interrupt his battle, but it pained him to see him getting hurt, like it pained him to see any shinigami hurt. If Ikkaku got too close too losing he would have to interfere. Though Ikkaku would hate him for it, his safety and health was more important. Besides, the eleventh disliked the fourth anyway. That glance and distraction almost made him lose the control of his healing and so he quickly returned his full focus to it. If there had only been one in critical condition he would of used standard healing, but there was more then one....that meant the surefire way was his shikai.
