History/Background:
Age: around 270 years in age (Appears to be in early-mid 30's))
Gender: Male
Personality:
Karel is infamously know as the "Sword Demon" amongst the shinigami of Soul Society. He is violent and singled minded to the purpose of killing opponents in combat. Despite this psychopathic and murderous aspect of Karel's mind, he normally appears calm and collected and very cold. Karel wouldn't slaughter just anyone, he is drawn to opponents of skill and power, often going out of his way or ignoring orders to fight a worthy opponent. He lives by the sword and usually won't resort to skills outside of swordplay.Appearance: Zanpakuto Spirit:
Karel is disliked by most of the other Captains of Soul Society, as he has threatened there lives on numerous occasions. Even Kenpachi beleives that he is a "Psychotic Bastard". However he has seemed to have changed recently, if only a bit. To begin with, he has learned to better control his blood lust, and desire to strike down any strong individuals he finds. While he's still a bit insane, but he's been able to behave more and more like a human being. He still has a strong killing desire, but he expresses such on the actual enemy instead of his own comrades. While he would still like to fight many of the shinigami in Soul Society, he wouldn't think of going as far to kill them now. It could now be said that Karel has gained the slightest bit of emotion. and feeling.
In the end, it could be said that Karel is less insane now, his demeanor towards others could be desribed more as cold.
Karel has "neice" that he took under legal gaurdianship after he rescued her from death. He treats her with a cold and distant fashion as he does most people, but deep down, he really cares about her. He pushes her to do better as a shinigami, knowing that she has much potential. He also isn't very portective of her, knowing that if he was, then she'd never grow stronger. It could be said that Fir is the main reason that Karel is starting to change
Xue Yu (Blood Jade)Sealed Zanpakuto:
(Xue Yu is the woman in the back to the left)
Xue Yu is Karel's zanpaktou spirit. She is a very distant woman who rarely displays emotion. She dislikes fighting but does not oppose Karel and his violent personality. She is submissive to Karel's will and in actuality, only wishes for his happiness and his well being.
Xue Yu closely resembles Karel's deceased sister, it is currently unknown whether the two or linked.
Xue Yu has begun to feel more happy now that Karel's begun to show some humanity and compassion.
Resembles a typical katana with a dark red hilt and a round guard.Shikai Description:
Looks like a katana with a blood red blade and dark red hilt. There are two tails coming of the hilt as well. (see first picture)Shikai Abilities:
Karel's Shikai absorbs any blood it touches passively, and it can also absorb blood from a distance of up to 20 meters away if Karel actively controls it to do so and it is exposed (ex, lying on the ground). The absorbed blood is converted into energy and stored for later use.Bankai Description:
Shurassu Shukketsu (Bleeding slash): Karel swings his sword, releasing a waves of red energy, in a wide and thin form, can be 1 to 10 meters long. Similar to Ichigo's Getsuga Tenshou.
He can also thrust he sword forward to shoot a more arrow like attack, that is faster, smaller, and sharper
Shoji (Possession): Karel's sword is possessed by his malevolent blood lust, allowing it to float in midair and attack on it's own. Karel usually wield his second, normal katana himself, while using this technique (Note: Karel's second katana is his old captain's zanpaktou)
Inner Impact: If Karel's blade penetrates the opponents torso region, then he can perform an opposite effect to his sword's typical blood absorption technique. Instead of absorbing the blood, it will push the blood out in an explosion of energy, doing massive damage to the organs and opening several gashes in the body as the blood exits the body.
The initial form of Karel's bankai used to be an unsupressed release of the raw energy of bankai, meaning that while it was destructive, it burnt all his reietsu up in a matter of minutes. Now Karel has become more calm in battle, (still insane though) and the massive energy release no longer flows outward like an open faucet. The energy stay withing Karel and his blade, but also flows around him, making the space around him disorted by the large energy source. Red sparks of energy that look like electricity jump across his sword and body at random, but not in a large amount. While this bankai is still very draining, Karel can hold it for much longer now without the continuos explosion of reietsuBankai Abilities:
. All of Karel's shikai abilities are greatly increased, and when his sword hits another object, a large splash or red energy is released on contact, fanning out in the direction of the sword swing, greatly increasing the amount of trauma caused by a direct hit. In a simular fashion to Kenpachi and Ichigo, the huge amount of reietsu release, now confined strictly to his body and blade, will decrease the amount of damage recieved from an attack. Karel's bankai can still be described as vast, destructive energy, but this new advanced version can now direct all that energy to his target, instead of destroying everything around him.Skill Level: Kidou: Beginner
subete no shouhi hakai (All consuming Destruction): Karel discharges the built up energy within the blade, firing it in a long gigantic blast of red colored energy from the tip of the sword. Can cause massive destruction, large impact force, but the time it takes to release is about 3-5 seconds. Similar to a Grand Rey Cero. This attack can drain Karel of almost all his reietsu, and usually results in him reverting back to shikai or even his sealed state. It is used as a trump card for a last result. Of course that means he can only use it once per bankai release, and exhaust its user. Karel could still possibly fight at this point, but he wouldn't have enough reietsu to activate his bankai again, and any energy based zanpaktou abilities would be more difficult as once again, he has less reietsu to tap in to. But Karel is very capable of fighting on swordmanship alone, as he is a dangerous swordsmaster. But even then, he would be physical exhausted so he wouldn't be able to fight as well, or as long as he could prior to that attack.
Pulse - Karel takes the suppression of his energy to release a 360 radius pulse of red energy that pushes away and tears apart objects. The surge of energy is about seven feet in height and travels for about 10 feet.
The second and true form of his bankai, Saint of Swords - Not yet obtained.

History/Background:
Karel was born to a family known for their swords mastery in the gotei 13 protection squads. He was the oldest of two, the younger being his sister. As a child, Karel was quiet and serious. He never smiled and never laughed. His parents were not very affectionate, and his father only spent time with him to teach him the way of the sword and to train him. Because he was trained with the sword at a very young age, he was sent to the shinigami academy at a young age. He quickly passed all of the classes in the academy and was assigned to squad 7 of the Gotei. He quickly rose the ranks until he became a seated officer at the age of 13. He was a well known prodigy and was favored by his superiors, especially his Captain. The most amazing thing was that Karel did all of this without even obtaining shikai. Eventually, Karel passed his father in skill and began to drift away from his humanity. He began to obsess with battle and killing stronger opponents. Eventually he lost himself in his obsession and showed a blood lust in battle reminiscent to Kenpachi's. Outside of battle, Karel was cold and distant, rarely ever talking to anybody. One day, Karel returned to his family after a mission and slaughtered everyone, including his younger sister, who did not attempt to defend herself when Karel cut her down. In the end, she loved her brother, who spent more time with her than her parents ever did. The Gotei found the bodies of the family the next day, but were not able to determine Karel's involvement. Karel had massacred his entire family and did not receive a single punishment. She died of an illness several years after the massacre of her family. Soon after her death was when Karel obtained his shikai ability and contact with his zanpaktou spirit, who looked exactly like his sister. With this new increase in power, Karel became vice captain of squad 7. Eventually, the threat he posed to his own comrades became apparent, and even the Captain who praised him so much could not ignore the pleas of his squad. The captain decided to do away with Karel indirectly by sending him on a suicide mission by himself. Karel succeeded in the mission and came back to Soul Society with blood shed in mind. He challenged his captain to battle, a challenge the captain gladly accepted in order to put an end to Karel's life. The captain did not expect Karel to have already achieved bankai, this miscalculation proved to be his undoing. Karel murdered his captain that day in front of the entire squad. However, he denied the title of Captain of squad 7, as he only battled his captain purely for the purpose of killing. Karel remained a vital member of the Gotei, his skills in combat valued over his threat to his squad members, in a similar fashion to Zaraki Kenpachi. Recently he has been able to maintain more control over his blood lust. After he had killed his captain Karel was tranferred out of Squad 7 on his own request.RP Sample:
Karel was promoted to the postion of Captain of 13th division after Ukitake's death. Karel initially struggled to control himself, now that he was constantly in contact with strong opponents, other captains that he was eager to fight and kill. Another difficult change was being in charge of others. Karel had usually only took care of himself during his time as a subordinate, but now he was responsible for an entire squad of Shinigami. Most of those Shinigami were afraid of Karel, or despised him for his violent nature, only a few had really taking a liking to him. His Vice Captain was never afraid of him since being assigned to 13th squad, and has loyally served the Karel.
Karel's life changed after the Soul Society's battle with Aizen and his ressurected Espada. The battle had resulted in a typical bloodbath on Karel's part, killing a massive amount of there undead soldiers. When Yamamoto was ressurected, bringing an inferno of flame with him, Karel was forced to retreat with the rest of the Gotei. On his way, he stumbled across the child Fir, a resident of Rukongai who was orphaned and injured during the attack. For reasons he wasn't able to understand himself, Karel felt sympathy for the girl, and rescued her from death. Ha brought the her to Seretei where she was healed, and then, out of another act of kindness, he decided to look after the child. After a few weeks of raising her, he began to form a bond with the Fir. While he acted distant and cold to her on the outside, on the insdie he was starting to care about another person for the very first time.
Karel trains Fir on a regular basis, his training methods along with her natural talent allowed her to pass the Academy in less than a week, landing her in a position in the Gotei 13. Karel sent her to 11th division, instead of his own squad so that she would meet different opponents and participate in more battles to become stronger. Recently his personality has began to change. While still very serious, cold, and harsh, he's began to lose his blood lust and psychotic tendencies.
Karel sat quietly in his office, only the sound of the ticking of a clock filled the room. The infamous Captain's office was very clean and nicelt decorated. On the walls in several places hungs sets of Katanas, Kodachi, and Wakizashi. In the far corner rested a giant Claymore next to a chinese Dao. In another corner was an empty wooden chair, meant for visitors, though Karel rarely had those. He leaned over his large desk, partialy surrounded by different forms and documents he was requied to fill out. He scribbled his signature onto one paper after another, while filling out a detailed report on his last battle with an arrancar. It was very dull and stressful, but the silence soothed the man to some extent. His desk wasn't very cluttered, for a man who was know only for his reputation for slaughter and bloodshed, he was rather good at filling out his papaer work in an organized fashion. The long haired man sat his pen down for a moment to reach for his cup of hot tea that rested on the far left corner of his desk. He took a quick sip then closed his eyes for a moment.
The sound of footsteps falling quickly, one after another broke the silence. The fast, rythmic sound grew louder and louder till it was just outside the door to his office, and then it began to slow down before reaching the door. Before she even announced her arrival, Karel knew who it was. "I'm coming in Uncle Karel" the loud voice of an adolecent girl said loudly, but calmly. The doors shifted open and a small girl with dark, faded purple hair in a ponytail came in. Her face seemed calm and unemotional, but Karel could tell she was just acting to gain his approval, she was obviously excited. "Fir" Karel greeted coldly, he sipped his tea and sat it back down, returning his attention to the stack of paper in front of him. "I graduated! in only five days! The instructors told me I was already strong enough to be Vice Captain level!" the girl said, barely containing her excitement. "I see" he replied simply, seeming as if didn't pay any mind to this bit of news. "Then take this" the man said calmly holding up a small envelope, his eyes still on the documents in front of him. "What is it" Fir asked, a confused look upon her face as she examined it. "A letter of reccomendation, take this to the Captain of 11th squad, Zaraki Kenpachi, tell him that I sent you to join his squad. Your strong enough, he wouldn't refuse. All of your records and information are there." Karel explained to his adopted child as he finished his report and sat in in a large stack on the left side of his desk. His pile of finished paper work was twice as large as his unfinished one, and it was only noon. Fir immediatly protested Karel's orders, her mask of calmness now broke as she became upset. "Wh- But why Uncle? I thought I was going to join your squad, you train me every day afterall, ho-" "Silence, Fir" Karel said coldly. Fir immediatly stopped. "I'm sorry Uncle, I-" Fir fell silent for a moment, trying to think of a way to reason with the man. "You'll only become stronger through experience in battle and the trials of missions. Squad 11 is the infantry of Seretei, they are involved in nearly every battle, you will grow stronger from the different opponents you will face. Kenpachi is a strong swordman, perhaps stronger than I am, you will learn alot from just watching him" Karel explained to Fir as he continued to scribble his neat handwriting onto another form. Fir stared at his moving pen as the ink bled onto the paper. His handwriting was sharp, yet beautiful, just like his swordplay. "I understand Uncle Karel, I'm sorry for objecting" Fir spoke up firmly. Karel did not look up at her as she sadi this. Fir began to walk torwards the door, quickly opening it and stepping out. She began to slowly slide the door shut. "Thank you" she said quietly as she shut the door behind her. Karel peered up from his paprework, looking at the door for a moment, quietly sipping his cup of tea.
