History/Background:
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Personality:
Muryou is almost the embodiment of the saying, “Go with the flow.”Very rarely will you ever see him in a negative mood. His wide-eyed optimism and outgoing personality make him very easy to get along with. There’s scarcely a frown in sight when Muryou is in the room, he considers himself the Class Clown or King of Fools and rarely lives down such a title. His pranks and mischievous ways have often gotten him into fiery trouble from time to time, but it’s nothing that his quick-wit paired with a broad grin can’t extinguish. Muryou considers himself to be everyone’s friend and refuses to tie himself down to any, “Clique.”Appearance:
He loves playing on the playground with others and most sports. He excels at running track and is among the top in his school district. He adores playing DDR at the local arcade with friends not to mention just dancing in general. He also dabbles in magic tricks with the deck of cards he carries with him at all times, but isn’t above a small game of poker. He lives for various physical and mental limit-pushing hobbies, though his favorite is hang gliding. Gliding has always given Muryou the wings he’s always wanted and he’s always felt the need to get away. A spirit of adventure is churning and yearning to see what’s out there if only his feet could keep up with the pounding excitement in his heart. Muryou loves a challenge, when anyone says something can’t be done he has to prove them wrong. Life-threatening or not this thrill seeker can’t stop his need for the adrenaline pumping experience. A life without fear is the only life worth living in his opinion.
Origin of Power:
Muryou’s hair is almost as if he’s been sticking pennies in the light socket since he was a toddler, and you couldn’t entirely put it past him. The color was actually originally black for a large portion of his life, but as of late white hair is sprouting up in patches all over. His hair is relatively short which makes the messy, prominent spikes stick up easier. His eyes are a stormy gray that seem to give him the appearance of someone wise beyond their years; although, you probably would know otherwise after hanging out with him for more than a few minutes. He has the islander tan and his physique is lacking a very muscular body type though he is toned and agile.
He stands around 5’5 and weighs lighter than most for his size, but it’s always been that way for him. He has lanky attributes such as long arms and legs that give him a monkey-like visage. His clothing style isn’t exactly well stylish. Aiming more for comfort and maximum mobility he goes for tight underclothes with a light, baggy t-shirt and shorts over the tight fitting garments. His shoes are soft and made for speed because of his love for running track and sprinting.
A wealthy classmate whose father was CEO of a small corporation in town, found out about Muryou’s love for hang gliding and addiction to rather dangerous stunts. Teasingly, he made a bet that Muryou wouldn’t hang glide off his father’s building, one of the largest establishments in all of Karakura Town. Muryou couldn’t turn down such a sinfully delicious challenge and promised that if he could be snuck in than he would most definitely accept the boys challenge. The boy grinned and rubbed his hands maniacally, “This oughta be fun Muryou!”Special Abilities:
That night, when most of the company’s employees had gone home from another grudging day of work, Muryou’s task had just begun. Muryou and his classmate had snuck in, past the guards and to the stairs. His class mate had mentioned something about trying to dodge any potential cameras. Quickly heading up to the roof, the class mate let out a breath of exasperation from being winded and Muryou chuckled sarcastically. The sky was nearly clear that night, the stars barely visible and the clouds were thin and wisp-like. The wind whistled and forced his baggy clothes to whip softly against his body, sending a shiver down his spine. They both stepped out towards the ledge, and Muryou removed his compactable hang glider from his bag. His class mate stepped out to the edge of the building and looked down; the breeze caught him at that second and made him swallow short panic with a quiet gulp. He turned to look at Muryou who had a hesitant and almost worried expression as he looked out the opposite direction of the building. The boy expressed that he wouldn’t blame Muryou if he backed down now.
The only reply to the classmates’ statement was that night breeze that swept across his face. Worried, the boy stepped up to Muryou and placed his hand on his shoulder sympathetically, “Hey man, it’s okay you can’t win ‘em all.” Muryou seemed to be transfixed on something that the boy couldn’t see at all. He squinted in the direction that Muryou was facing, but there was nothing. He shook his head, “Don’t freak out on me man, we’ll just go down stairs and explain we got lost in the building and couldn’t find our way out. My dad will back us up.” The boy’s words echoed in Muryou’s mind but didn’t really register. At that moment, Muryou’s eyes widened as what was once a vague shape in the distance was now soaring directly at them. Growing in size, the shape let out a terrifying shriek that pierced the night sky.
Muryou gasped and shoved his classmate aside, then dove the other way. The irritated boy’s protesting shout was cut short, as he felt the wind from something he couldn’t see rush over him in a wave. Then a communication tower across the rooftop was toppled and sparks flew. The markings of what seemed to be claws gouged the stone between the boys. Frozen with fear, the boy stammered at Muryou “W,w,whats going on?!” Muryou had to think fast, “Get back inside,” he yelled and then to the frightened boys surprise Muryou started yelling insanely at something that he himself couldn’t see.
“Hey, Come on, come and get me!” Muryou screamed, more trying to lead it away from his classmate then actually provoke the thing. Muryou hadn’t really thought it out that much though before the thing was moving back across the rooftop towards him. He grabbed his hang glider and jumped off the roof’s ledge to the amazement of his classmate. Another shriek echoed as the thing angrily dove after him. The fall was exhilarating, but there was little time to enjoy it knowing something was chasing him. Pulling up he started to sail just above the city streets. Pedestrians pointed and gawked in awe as he swooped over their heads and he could hear the beating of wings just behind him. Muryou tucked up and passed just under a bulletin board and seconds later it was smashed to bits as the creature tore through in chase. Car horns blared at the sight of the hang gliding youth and the signs destruction as pieces fell onto the roadway. He had to do something to evade it but nothing seemed to work, he weaved between poles and tried to use obstacles to lose it, until finally in the distance he spotted the town power plant to his right. Heading straight ahead towards a building, he pulled up sharply and his feet scrambled for traction against the side to make a sharp turn. He kicked off, turning towards the electrical towers, his pursuer screeched again as it slammed into the building breaking windows and scraping bricks as it tore off after him once more.
Muryou dared not look back as he heard the commotion behind him and sailed towards the tower. His only chance he thought was to somehow leap away and catch the towers railings and let that thing go after his unmanned glider. He had to time it just right, he thought, One…Two…wait, do I go on three or after three? Screw it! His hands released and the glider sailed on as he fell. Flailing his arms he tried to latch on to one of the towers, however the speed at which he was descending was too much and one of his arms was painfully pulled from its socket, which caused him to let go sending him plummeting towards the ground. Muryou grasped his injured arm and closed his eyes awaiting the impact but miraculously his descent started to slow. He opened his eyes and felt the breeze whip against his baggy clothes and watched the creature chasing him follow the glider into one of the other electrical towers. It cried out in agony as it was electrocuted and outlined in energy for a brief moment before it too fell, smoldering to earth. Shaking his head in disbelief as his feet touched the ground he held his injured arm and ran off home, unaware of the black robed figure that had watched from afar.
Hyper mobility* (Also known as Double-Jointed) Muryou has joints that stretch farther than is normal. For example, he can bend his thumbs backwards to his wrists, bend his knee joints backwards, put his leg behind his head or other contortionist performances.Powers First Stage:
Daredevil* Bring it on! Muryou is a thrill seeker that cannot refuse a challenge, and even if he’s faced with something he knows he’d fail at, he always pushes himself to at least try. Life’s too short to not have tried.
Speed/Agility* Muryou is almost unnaturally fast. He’s been the top runner in his school district since they let him on the team. His ability to leap over obstacles with quick reflexes is almost uncanny. He also holds the DDR high score in Karakura Town’s local arcade.
No powers for now, maybe after upgrade. I want to try a kind of Wind Control character, but it will take a while with self-discovery and all that.Powers Second Stage:

History/Background:
Muryou Tamashi was raised in a small apartment of Karakura Town. Since he’d been young his father had always been kind of over bearing. Constantly laying down rules, correcting everything he did, controlling every little aspect of his life. What he ate, when he woke up, what clothes he could wear and so on. His father was a simple man who led a simple life. He followed the same schedule day in and day out.RP Sample:
Muryou swore that his life would never lack the adventure that his dad had obviously missed out on. He never really knew his mother however; she died giving birth to him. Muryou figures it’s why his father has always been so quiet. He sometimes imagines what she would have been like. It’s hard for him to do so but he believes that his personality is probably a lot like hers and that’s why his father is so controlling.
His childhood was fairly average. He excelled in sports but could never really stay still long enough for studies. Lots of his teachers assumed he had ADHD, but his father ignored their concerns and said the boy was simply too day dreamy. He constantly cut jokes and would interrupt teachers often to speak his mind on subject matters. He loved making others laugh and didn’t mind the repercussions of his action as long as it put smiles on others faces or was particularly very fun.
When Muryou turned twelve was when things changed for him, as soon as he exited the shabby apartment he lived in with his father he would meet a friend and at their home change clothes and restyle his hair anything to rebel against the oppressive rules his father laid down. Everyone expected Muryou to grow much taller, but it never really happened. It didn’t bother him much though as size was not an issue for him making friends. Around this time was when he had tried out for the track and field team and got in with an, ”Exceeds Expectations.” He becomes the embodiment of freedom as he knows it. Muryou is a close friend to many, but there was no one he would really consider a best friend. He kind of picks up that role for others, giving them advice and always trying to be there for them when possible. He still yearns to escape and get away from this place though, and can’t help but feel like he’s meant for something more.
Over the next few years Muryou earned his daredevil reputation among the youth of Karakura town. Taking on the challenge of near every dangerous stunt someone his age could get away with. This also led to him picking up a few little skills, jack of all trades but master of none: skateboarding, hang gliding, rock climbing, cliff diving, and other things his father would never approve of. Of course this also resulted in a few injuries, broken bones and what not, but as soon as he was better he was right back out there. Nothing seemed impossible for Muryou and when he was seventeen was when the incident with the hang glider occurred. Since then Muryou has seen spirits everywhere, he wonders if it had something to do with his brush with death but tries not to dwell on the thought.
BEEP BEEP BEEP!
The loud, boisterous alarm filled the room with a hideous sound Muryou had grown to hate. He rolled over slowly, groaning as his hand blindly swung all over the bedside table in search of the off-switch. Finally, with a lucky thwack, the nuisance of the morning had been defeated. Muryou began to stretch across the already strewn blankets and sheets of his warm bed. He raised his body slowly, yawning loudly as he did so, clicking his tongue as the last bit of air exited his mouth.
Muryou trudged to the bathroom like a zombie would, his face looked as if he was in a daze and his feet barely lifted from the ground as he stumbled from wall to wall until he reached his destination. He turned the faucet on and dipped his finger in the water a few seconds after to test the temperature than looked up in the mirror, examining himself for a moment he noticed tiny imperfections he proceeded to pick at before finally cupping his hands and collecting the soothing warm to splash across his face.
SPLASH!
Water ran down and across his face wherever it could and Muryou let out another charming monster yawn before toweling off his face with gentle dabs here and there, listening to the wind blow the leaves in the trees just outside the window. He let out a sigh before wetting a comb and fixing his hair perfect just as his father always made him. “Dress for success” his father would always say in that monotone Dad voice that never seemed to change. He went to his room after fixing his hair properly, making sure to not have one hair out of place. Once back in his room he began sifting through the closet of suits his father had bought for him, choosing the most gray and lifeless button he could find and khakis to match.
While tying his black dress shoes he bit his lip, struggling to make the loops even so not to get the same lecture as he did last month about how symmetry is everything and employers look for things like that in a man. Muryou shook his head wondering, “If only he knew...” Muryou stood and examined himself in the door mirror; the person staring back at him sent chills down his spine. The suited boy looked nothing like a boy but a man, someone who worked in a cubicle day after day and did nothing with their life and never amounted to anything but numbers and figures. He silently promised himself that it would all be over soon.
Muryou walked back to his bed, and looked over his shoulder making sure his door was closed, the than crouched down and pulled out a bag from under his bed, grinning widely as he examined the contents. A brand new t-shirt filled with multiple colors with words on the front reading, “Let Your Spirit Soar” and on the back was a set of large wings with elaborate colored feathers. Also inside the bag was a pair of tattered baggy jean shorts, and soft well worn tennis shoes with lightning bolts and tiny Hermes wings that Muryou had drawn on them, and he had always sworn that the art made him run faster. He quickly stuffed the bag in his back pack than swung it over his back and headed down stairs.
His father looked down from the news paper as Muryou entered the kitchen, and his father took a moment to examine his son who surprisingly, almost looked almost identical to himself. He shook his head disapprovingly than flicked his wrist as the paper fluttered back up to cover the sight of his son once more. Muryou gritted his teeth, but breathed slowly trying to accept that there’s nothing he could do to change how his father felt. He grabbed an apple and began washing it off as he spoke, “I won’t be home until later, I have a track meeting after school today.” The room was silent, Muryou knew his father had hated how much he liked sports, and Muryou took pleasure in dropping subtle reminders.
He knew that was the most conversation he’d have with his father today, and walked out the door. The sun beamed into his eyes which made him quickly shut them and rub at them a moment. The apartment was much darker which made him take a few moments to adjust. Soon, when his eyes had refocused he began to walk towards his friend Yami’s house, where he’d change into his real clothes, and be the person he truly wanted to see when he looked at his reflection. He would have messy hair and colorful-baggy clothes with worn shoes. He would represent everything he stood for living life to the fullest never letting it go to waste. Soon Muryou would spread his wings and let his spirit soar.
