Appearance
Tobi has thick, straight, black hair that is messy and falls down below his ears and eyes. His eyes are blue like the sky. He stands around 5'10" and weighs around 160 pounds. He is on the skinnier side but he is very muscular. He takes care of his body and makes sure that he is always fit and ready to fight.
Tobi wears the standard Shinigami robes with pride. Rarely does he ever wear anything else. His clothes differ slightly in that he cut off the sleeves to allow himself to move freely. Tobi also wears tape around his hands and forearms like a boxer would to support his wrists and a headband to try to keep his long hair out of his eyes.
Personality
Tobi has issues with authority at times. It's not that he doesn't respect them but he just thinks he can do it better. He is a determined Shinigami that wants to be the best he can possibly be and also wants to avenge his fallen brother. He has trouble making friends because he tends to be a little spacey at times. He is often found daydreaming and seems to be more interested in his dream worlds then the one hes in.
Tobi hates when people become lazy and don't hold up their part. He has issues with anger at times and it shows when people get on his nerves by being lazy, interrupting his ideas, or ignoring him. He hates being ignored more then anything in the world and is often very outspoken and honest. Tobi has trouble trusting others. He is always afraid that other people will stab him in the back or that they are using his determined attitude for their gain.
History
Tobi was born into an average family. His family was never wealthy but never poor either. His father was a merchant and his mother was a cook. Both of his parents worked extremely hard to provide for Tobi and his brothers and sisters. Tobi was the third child, he had an older brother and sister. His older brother enrolled in the Shinigami Academy when he was very young and he hasn't seen him since then.
Kinshiro, Tobi's older brother, left for the academy when Tobi was twenty-eight. His sister, Emi, wasn't blessed with spiritual powers and stayed at home and learned to cook like mother. Even though Emi would never become a Shinigami she still knew how to fight. She would often protect Tobi from the bullies in the neighborhood. Tobi always hated when Emi stepped in because he felt that he could do it himself, even though he was usually fighting against boys thirty to forty years older.
Tobi discovered his spiritual powers by accident one day when he was forty-nine. He had gotten into a fight and somehow he managed to form a small ball and throw it at his enemy. His sister Emi saw the power he had and encouraged him to enroll in the Shinigami Academy. Tobi waited a few years before he enrolled but once he did he never looked back, just like his brother. He loved his family but he needed to focus on his duty.
While he was in the Academy he became stronger. He learned how to harness his power and how to use it as well. He discovered his Shikai a few years into his time in the Academy. He discovered his Shikai when he was in a deep, daydream. What he thought was a vision was really his Zanpakto talking to him. It told him that he was Mikaeru. When he came to from his "daydream" he found his Zanpakto in it's altered Shikai state.
After Tobi discovered his Shikai and the name of his Zanpakto he dedicated the rest of his time in the Academy to training himself with it. During this time he found out that his brother had been killed in action. For the first time since enrolling in the Academy, he went home. His parents and Emi begged him to stay but Tobi had already decided that one day he would bring judgment upon his brother's killer.

Name: Daitenshi Mikaeru
Translation - Archangel Michael
Unreleased Appearance
In it's unreleased state, Tobi's Zanpakto is a katana. It blade length measures 25 inches and has a slightly curved blade. The hilt is measured at 10.5 inches and is black with a red flame that comes up from the bottom of the hilt. The guard is square shaped and is black as well. A small, black string is tied to the guard in honor of Tobi's fallen brother, Kinshiro.

Name: Daitenshi Mikaeru
Gender: Male
Spirit Appearance
Mikaeru is tall and slender. He has short golden hair that is slicked back slightly. He has three pairs of wings on his back. Two of the pairs are larger and smaller pair is below the larger two. He stands approximately seven feet tall but when his upper wings are extended he can reach twelve feet high. Mikaeru wears gloves that cover his forearms. His upper body is covered in light, golden armor and the lower part of his body is covered by a robe. At his side there is a flaming sword that is unhilted.
Personality
Mikaeru is serious. He is determined to protect everyone but is not afraid to use his power to destroy as well. He radiates with strength and never shows weakness. Mikaeru is also kind but doesn't know how to show it. His purpose is to help Tobi with every ounce of his power and to protect him from evil.
Relationship to Master
Mikaeru sees Tobi as his charge. He feels a need to protect him. Whenever Tobi comes to his inner world he feels better because he knows that Tobi is safe there. At times, his views conflict with Tobi. When Tobi gets angry it becomes harder for Mikaeru to help and he even refuses if he feels that Tobi's anger is bordering on hatred or his thoughts become evil.
Inner World
Mikaeru's world is beautiful. It is a garden filled with every tree and plant imaginable. Mikaeru stands guard over this garden with his flaming sword. He never allows Tobi to enter the garden. Mikaeru's world occasionally shifts and becomes a world surrounded by torches lit by red and blue flames. He claims this place as his resting spot where he meditates and trains himself to do what he is called to do.

Shikai Appearance
In it's Shikai release, Tobi's Zanpakto changes it shape dramatically. One side of the blade looks like his unreleased Zanpakto but the other side has flames that shoot an inch to an inch and a half away from the center of the blade. The blades size increases to 29 inches and the hilt to 11 inches. The guard loses it's square shape and takes on the form of what looks like wings that extend two inches up the blade and down the hilt. The hilt itself does not change.
Shikai Abilities
Kaeru he Honoo (Turn to Flame)
- Description of Attack - Tobi swings his zanpakto above his head. He then brings it down in a circular motion and allows the tip of the blade to scrape against the ground. As if the it was striking a match, the zanpakto becomes enveloped in two inch thick flames. This ability lasts for 1 minute and then it needs to be reignited.
- Type - Activation
- Range - n/a
- Limitation - When the Shikai is in this state it becomes vulnerable to water attacks. Any type of water based attack can put out the flame. It also takes 5% of Tobi's spiritual energy to activate. In this state the Shikai has 100% effect on anyone tier below and 70% against the same tier but 25% on 1 tier above and no effect on 2 tiers or more.
Kami no Gekido (Wrath of God)
- Description of Attack - Tobi takes his zanpakto and slams it into the ground. Mikaeru absorbs some of Tobi's spiritual energy and sends and wall of flames in a straight line. The flames shoot up from the ground and burn anything that touches it.
- Type - Offensive
- Range - 120 feet along the ground and burns 10 feet in the air for about 5 seconds before dying out.
- Limitation - Kaeru he Honoo needs to be activated first. The attack takes 40% of Tobi's spiritual energy. It also is limited to going in a straight line. It can also be negated by water. Against any tier below it effects at 100%. The same tier takes 75% 1 tier above takes 35%, 2 tiers above take 15%, and 3 tiers above takes 0%.
Tenshi no Hane (Wings of an Angel)
- Description of Attack - Tobi takes his zanpakto and holds it horizontally in front of him. Mikaeru absorbs some of his spiritual energy and pushes it forward. Mikaeru forms a shield that resembles a pair of his wings used to stop attacks.
- Type - Defensive
- Range - Shield-base, protects ten feet wide and is two feet in front of Tobi and lasts 3 seconds.
- Limitation - This shield takes 5% of Tobi's spiritual energy. It can stop 80% of attacks from lower tiers and 70% of same tier attacks but only stops at a 35% chance 1 tier above and 10% 2 tiers above and is negated by any attack 3 tiers or more. Water attacks go through the shield without losing any power.

It was a beautiful day outside and Tobi couldn't help but find himself staring into the clouds again. He had been training all day and needed a little break.
"Daydreaming again?" Tobi turned around and saw Takashi coming towards him. Takashi was the one friend he actually trusted but he would constantly get mad at him because he tended to be lazy.
"Eh, not really. Just enjoying the day, taking a little break." said Tobi as the tall, skinny, blonde haired Shinigami sat next to him. Takashi looked up into the sky.
"I don't know what it is you're always looking at up there but it's boring." Tobi chuckled. No one really understood why he did what he did but he had to admit that he liked it that way. It gave him a sort of mysterious aura. A cloud passed over the sun and Tobi decided his break had been long enough.
Tobi stood up and started to walk back towards the Academy.
"Where are you going? I just got here." said Takashi.
"I'm going to train with Mikaeru some more."
"Come on, man. Relax a little. Ever since you found out about your brother you been acting strange, well not that you weren't strange beforehand." replied Takashi.
Tobi could feel his blood start to boil. Takashi was one of his only friends but he knew how to piss him off.
"It's not going to kill you to enjoy this beautiful day sitting here."
"Shut up Takashi!" Tobi turned back at his friend. A fire seemed to be burning in his eyes that was red with anger. "I will not just sit here and waste time! I have to get stronger, I have to be better!"
Takashi seemed to ignore Tobi's response. He had heard it all before many times.
"Are you even listening to me?" yelled Tobi angrily.
"Hmm, oh yeah yeah yeah. I heard you same sad story, different day." said Takashi.
Tobi rage was almost becoming uncontrollable. To let out some steam he clenched his fist and punched the nearest tree. A fist was imprinted into the bark a couple inches in.
Takashi heard the bark crack. He stood up and walked over to his friend and put his hand on his shoulder. He stood a couple inches taller then Tobi.
"Look, Tobi. I know why you work so hard and that's great, and I know you get annoyed because I tend to wanna slack off and I thank you for that. You've helped push me to where I am at today. In fact, if I didn't meet you that first day of class I probably would have flunked out of the Academy." said Takashi sympathetically.
Tobi could feel himself calming down. No matter how angry he got Takashi seemed to find a way to calm him.
"Hey, remember that time when our first Kido instructor taught us how to do Hado 31?"
A sly smile made it's way across Tobi's face. "Yeah..." he said as he let out a little chuckle.
"You couldn't figure out how to do it right and no matter how many times he showed you it you still did it your way. Then, after hours of trying and failing over and over again you got so fed up with him that you tried to aim it at him." said Takashi as he started to laugh hysterically. "But, instead of hitting him you somehow managed to have it backfire and hit you!"
Tobi let a small laugh escape. That had been one of many moments during their time in the Academy that Tobi hadn't seen eye to eye with the instructors.
Takashi had successfully managed to calm Tobi down but still didn't change that fact that he was wasting time and not training. Tobi smiled and patted Takashi on the back.
"You're a good friend Takashi but, I really need to go and train some more."
With that Tobi left Takashi and went to go and practice his swordsmanship.
