Appearance
Kaen stands at a height of about five foot nine and a half inches. He weighs approximately one hundred and fifty-three pounds. He has grey eyes and fair skin. His hair is a sandy blonde, cut short at the back while he has bangs at the front. He usually walks around with a rested face showing no emotions. Though even then he could be considered quite the handsome young man.
He’s usually found wearing dark coloured T-shirts with a light grey jacket thrown over it. Though he doesn’t wear this jacket all the time, just most. He has a silver necklace around his neck that he never removes. He has an athletic build to him and he is a bit bulky, muscle wise. His skin is completely clean, no scars or tattoos whatsoever.
He has a immaculate white smile, not that he ever shows it. He usually has a cold glare in his eyes, though you never know he might warm up one day. When going to school he wears the usual uniform, White button down shirt with khakis. Otherwise he wears the above stated, dark T-shirts and jeans. Though he will wear just a regular button down once in a while, maybe dress pants if the occasion calls for it. When training he has muscle shirts and shorts, along with fighting gloves.
Personality
Kaen is quiet and withdrawn from the world. At his age this is very unusual, though he would always tell someone that he was fine should they ask. He doesn’t keep many friends and is often found by himself. He has a cold and calculating, and most times choose the course of action that best suits his needs without caring for others. Kaen is never hesitant in anything that he does, and does his utmost to achieve his goals. Some might find him odd, as he sometimes speaks to spirits around him, though they cannot be seen by others so they think he is speaking to himself.
He doesn’t often show emotions, usually having a cold look on his face. The boy seems to fear nothing and has a very high level of confidence in himself. He is direct and to the point, he doesn't doesn’t like when people beat around the bush. He is annoyed easily by those who wastes his time and usual finds an appropriate “punishment” to fit their “crime.” Despite all this, he is still quite young and therefore easily influenced by those around him. (Meaning no clue if he’s good or bad, neutral at the moment.)
Kaen despises hollows, he hates them indefinitely. Though he has only met the one that killed his parents. Besides Hollow and Plus, Kaen remains completely oblivious to the other beings of the spiritual world (this includes arrancar and vizard). As for his likes, he is attracted to fire, he also loves the quiet and solitude. Though he does have a few friends, he just isn't the type to get up and go hang out with people.
History
Kaen comes from a long line of Shinto Priests. His mother and father before him were Priests, and their parents before them were also Priests too. His parents met at a ceremony where someone from the family line on his fathers side was being ordained. They didn’t like each other one bit. Little did they know both their families had arranged for them to be together a long time ago, and in their lineage this was a big deal. A decision such as that was absolute. At first they couldn’t stand each other, they were always fighting and bickering. Though eventually they grew on one another, and the fighting and bickering became playfully teasing.
Over time the two young Priests came to love one another very much, enough that they decided to start a family of their own. Thus Kaen was born. He was special though, and no not in the special bundle of joy way though they were very happy that he was a healthy and strong baby. He was special in the fact that, he was born with an abnormal amount of spiritual energy. Both parents knew that their child would grow to be strong, and one day possess strength that others of their lineage could only dream of. The consequences of such power, is what they didn’t expect though.
From the moment of his birth when he opened his eyes, the child could sense spirits. So as the years went by he started to see and hear the spirits that popped in and out of his life. None of which were ever found as surprising, Kaen merely thought of them as friends. This was completely normal to him, though he had no idea of the troubles and lengths his parents were going to to protect him. Every time he saw them, they had a smile on their faces and acted as if nothing was wrong. When in all actuality they were out there fighting terrible things in order to protect their beloved son. Around the time he hit six years old is when the side of the spiritual world his parents didn’t want him to see became all too real.
Kaen had been sleeping contently until he heard the blood curdling screams and the howls of some creature he knew wasn’t normal. He jumped out of his bed and ran down the stairs, just in time to watch his mother fly past him. She was soaring through the air, though her flight came to a very abrupt stop as she slammed into a wall nearby. Kaen stood there frozen, staring into space before turning to look at his mother. His once beautiful mother was covered in blood, her face filled with bruises and cuts. She looked like someone had taken a battering ram to her. His hand reached out, his mouth opened though he didn’t say anything. He couldn’t, he had no idea what to say. Then he snapped out of it as he heard another scream along with a howl. He turned to watch as a monster bit down into his fathers’ shoulder. The boys’ eyes opened wide in horror, frantic thoughts running through his mind. What was happening? What is that thing? Was this a nightmare, was he dreaming?
Tears ran from his eyes as he stood there helplessly not knowing what to do. His mother was barely alive and his father was being eaten, the child was distraught, a total wreck. He fell to his knees and sobbed. The hollow turned and looked at him, instantly it dropped his father and started to come towards him. Then out of nowhere a barrier a flame came between the two. The hollow stopped its movements and howled, as if wondering who dared to interfere with his meal. Kaen slowly retreated from the scene until he heard a voice.
”My child, do you wish to save your parents?”
The boys eyes opened in surprise as he turned to see the Goddess of the Sun, Amaterasu behind him. He didn’t give a verbal answer he nodded, that’s all. The Goddess raised her hands and placed them on the boys head.
Kaen could feel the energy flowing into him. It was warm, and he felt stronger, different he was dumbfounded.
"You have been blessed with the gift of the sun Kaen, use it wisely. There are agreat many trials in your future."
Kaen didn't care, he nodded at the Goddess.
"Thank you."
He said, then he heard that horrible howl again. Kaen snapped to attention, his head turning to focus on the hollow that was making its way through Amaterasus' barrier. At this moment The Goddess started to instruct Kaen, telling him what to do. Following Amaterasus' instructions the boy raised his hand and imagined a ball of fire forming in it. Instantly he felt a warmth, then the fire sparked to life. Directing his hand so that it was aimed at the hollows’ head, he “pushed” the flames causing them to shoot forwards. The blast met its target on the first hit, tearing through the hollows mask though it didn’t kill it. Merely injured it, but enough that it howled in pain and became infuriated. After firing the blast Kaen felt exhausted, he stood then slowly fell to one knee as the angry hollow approached him. His vision became hazy and doubled as his collapse started. Right before he passed out he saw a man standing in front of him with a sword, and he heard the howl of the hollow, then he faded into blackness.
When he eventually came to, his house was a wreck and the monster was gone. He didn’t see the man that had come to fight, then he suddenly shot up to a standing position and looked around. His parents bodies were there, but he already knew they were dead. The boy fell to his knees once more and started to cry. After the incident, he moved with his Grandparents. Kaen asked his grandfather to teach him how to control his reishi properly, though he denied. Still Kaen asked everyday until his grandfather caved and decided to teach him. He then went to his uncle for lessons in martial arts and trained by himself to improve the technique he had used against the hollow. He would have put all his time into this training if it weren’t for school, and now at the age of fifteen he was in his first year of high school. This made it even harder, but still he tries his best.

Spiritual Awakening
Kaen comes from a line of Shinto Priest. Both his parents were Priest, so naturally he had the ability to sense ghosts since birth. Over time, he gained the ability to see and hear them. Though his ability to create and control flames didn’t come until later. After he had been blessed with the gift of the sun by the Goddess Amaterasu around the age of 6. He has come a far in using his powers, but still has much to learn.
Discovery of Powers
Kaen was born with the abilities to sense spirits. Over time he could see their shapes also. To him this was quite normal as he comes from a line of Shaman. As he grew older he grew more adept in seeing them, instead of just their outlines and he could start to here them also. On the night his parents were killed he gained the ability to create and manipulate fire after Amaterasu gave him that power him.
Abilities Description
Kaens’ ability is the creation and manipulation of fire. He always had abnormally strong reishi, his power to create and manipulate flames came about because of a blessing from the Goddess of the Sun. Basically he mixes his reishi with the air around him, and causes a process similar to spontaneous combustion. He can create a sword, start fires and more. He also gives off high temperature readings.
Other Specialty Items
Amulet of Honō - The silver necklace which he wears around his neck has a pendant on it. This pendant is a symbol that he has been blessed by Amaterasu and given the power of fire.

Abilities, First Stage

Spark Blast
- Description of Attack - This is an ability that allows Kaen to fire a blast of fire from either his palm or finger tips. When fired from his finger tips the blast is about 5cm in diameter. When fired from his palm the size of the diameter of the blast is increased to a foot. He can fire from both hands at once, or two fingers on each hand. This attack is not a perfect shape, just like how a bon fire has flames all over the place. The same can be said for this technique. So anything/anyone standing within 6 inches of the blast (besides the target of course and also I mean to the side for position) may be burned.

. This attack takes up 3% of Kaen’s reiatsu when fired from the finger tips and 5% when fired from the palm. Double when fired from both. So 6% from two fingers and 10% from both palms.
. Against someone of lower level, should this attack hit it would cause 60%-100% damage.
. Someone of the same level would receive 45%-60% damage
. Someone of a higher level would receive 0%-35% damage (basically a burn or singe)
. He can only fire about five of these (small ones) before he has to take a break 5 minutes and for the large ones he can fire three before resting five minutes.
Snap Burst
- Description of Attack - This attack is both a type of offence and defence. He mixes his reishi with the atmosphere creating a reaction among the elements, starting a process similar to spontaneous combustion by focusing on specific areas. By elements I mean things like oxygen, Xenon, etc (chemical elements). He uses his reishi to create a heat flux which in turn causes a sudden rise in temperature, passing the ignition point of the elements in the air.
He can use it to form a barrier of a fire around him. The diameter of this barrier extends up to 10 feet, this is the general range for anything done with this technique. The barrier forms a dome, so he is completely covered and it is about seven feet high. This is for defence.
When being used for offence, he still has a range of thirty meters, but creating a dome like shape he creates random bursts of flames to engulf the enemy. Or in other cases, blow up flammable objects. He can either make small or medium sized flames.- Type - Offensive/Defensive
- Range - Self-10 feet
- Limitation -
. It takes 20% of his reiatsu to use and maintain this technique for the barrier, 2% to create small flames and 4% to create medium flames.
. The barrier takes five seconds to be formed if it is small, ranging from self-5 feet. Anything larger requires a minute.
. Anyone one at a lower level that were to be hit by this technique would receive 75%-100% damage.
. Anyone at the same level would receive 50%-full damage
. Anyone at a higher level would receive 0%-25% damage.
. This attack is fast (4 seconds before the flame starts), but has a clue of how to dodge. Right before the flame ignites, there will be a spark as if someone is trying to light a match or lighter. As long as the target moves if and when the see the spark, they will be able to dodge this attack.

Flame Sword
- Description of Attack - Kaen focuses his Reiatsu and creates a sword of pure fire. In order to make sword tangible, he solidifies his reiatsu after making the form, giving the blade an amber-gold glow. The sword is the length of a regular katana and has circular guard, resembling fire going in a circle. The blade is 28 inches long and the hilt is long enough for both hands to hold onto. The blade of the sword is always heated and burns anything it touches and of course it cuts you. Any cut caused by this blade becomes cauterized because of the heat. If the blade comes in contact with a liquid it will steam. The density of the blade can be affected so that it can become regular fire or be solid. The sword remains at the same length at all times.

. This technique requires 4% of his reiatsu to create and maintain the sword
. Against a zanpakutō the sword wouldn’t last very long, five minutes at the most.
. Those at a lower level will receive second degree burns if the blade hit’s them.
. Those on the same level receive first degree burns if the blade hits them.
. Those at a higher level, get a slight singe or nothing happens at all besides being cut.
. Liquids do not affect the sword unless it is a pure flame, meaning it isn't solid. When in this less dense state the sword may be put out with a liquid.
. Overall it takes 5 seconds to make the sword. 2 to create the flame and bring it to the desired measurements, and 3 to solidify the flame and give the desired features and form.

Laughter and smiles. It had been a while since he experienced either, emotions seemed to be nothing but a burden. Still he was laughing again and smiling again, he was playing with his friends. Kaen had a big toothy grin on his face. Then came the howl and the screams. Blood every where. Kaen stopped moving around, his childish state of mind reverting to normal. The cold glare once again entering his eyes,
”I will never forgive you.”
He raised his hands at the hollow and fired a stream of flames at it. Then everything faded to black.
The young teenager slowly opened his eyes as he rose from the misty depths of sleep. Kaen pushed the covers off him and slipped out of his bed and headed straight for the shower. When he was done he got dressed, throwing a black shirt, black jeans and a black jacket on before heading to eat breakfast.
”Morning gramps, nana”
He said before sitting at the table. The boy made quick work of his breakfast then stood and went to the bathroom to brush his teeth. When he was done he waved to his grand parents and went on his way to school.The first thing that happened when he got to school was the usual, jump him and try to be friends stitch with a kid name Orikami.
”KAEN!!! GOOOOOOD MORNING!!!!!!!”
Orikami ran towards Kaen arms open as if expecting to embrace him. Kaen glanced at him from the corner of his eyes, hands in his pocket he spoke.
”Touch me...and I’ll kill you.”
His voice was venomous and cold. Orikami stopped in his tracks and unconsciously tried to make himself smaller.
”Why are you so cold?”
Kaen ignored his question and kept on walking until he got to his class. He sat at his desk and waited for the teacher to come, praying that no one would bother him. With his eyes closed he leaned back in his chair relaxing until he heard a voice.
"Um, Kaen, well...um a few friends and I were wondering if you’d like to join of us for lunch today...”
It was Korena. She was one of the prettiest girls in this class, but seemed to be the most innocent. He could tell who it was by her voice, but still he opened his eyes and acknowledged her.
”Thanks for the offer, but maybe some other time.”
With that the bell rang and the teacher entered class right on time and Korena nodded her head and went back to her seat.
