With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.
After receiving her peace offerings of assorted sweets and snacks from the various captains and underlings of the Gotei Thirteen, Yachiru found herself with little to do. It was early in the afternoon, just a little too soon after her first afternoon snack for a third or fourth. Kenpachi was napping somewhere, and she had no idea where Baldy or Feathers were.
The tiny shinigami pressed a finger to her pouting lips, her brow furrowed as the gears in her brain turned. She could always bother Byakushi - she liked bothering Byakushi. She smiled at the thought, even as she tip-toed down the street.
Come to think of it, she had absolutely no idea where she was. Perhaps she was in the eleventh's barracks, or maybe she was right outside of Re-chan's office. A few older shinigami passed by, looking to her and nodding with respect. Yachiru barely noticed those - what she did notice was a black-haired man with his hair tied back in a ponytail.
She stared at it, her eyes wide and her lips parted curiously. She wanted to tug on it. And before anyone could tell her not to, Yachiru was on the man's back, her hands grasping clumps of coarse black hair and pulling them in separate directions.
"Giddeyup!"
"Who's there?!"
She laughed as the man began to turn, searching for whoever was grasping his hair to no avail. Yachiru swung around with the rest of his hair, and each time he looked to her previous location, he was much to late to see her hanging further off.
Of course, he could hear her cheering.
"Release me at once!" demanded the bespectacled shinigami, unknowingly walking in whichever direction Yachiru pulled his hair.

As she has begun to spread her wings a bit within the Gotei 13, the new 3rd Seat of 6th Division has begun to come out of her shell a bit more. The more she has the more odd she seems to be--a little peculiar, a little random. But she still manage to maintain her constants that those who know her have grown familiar with. Such as maintaining the gardens of her Division's barracks and those of Seireitei's hot spring near 1st Division. Whatever she was doing she seemed to begin finding her stride and equanimity in it all.
She had numerous variants of flowers in her arms as well as a sachel slung over her shoulder filled several varying pouches of flora and fauna. However, she had only done this after during a brief meeting within her Taichou's office with the other Seated members of her Division, where it was abruptly interrupted by Tachiru's raiding for snacks. It seemed much to Byakuya's silent chagrin, he had been expecting this and had numerous... uniquely... designed cartoony character shaped cookies set out for her. Yet... the tiny pink haired whirlwind of a little girl did not take them--appearing disinterested and confused by their shape, and in flash split. ((clicky for reference for those who are unaware XD)) But, Kaida was quite impressed that Byakuya was able to deter the little Fukutaichou, though it seemed... largely unintentional on his part for some reason to her.
In any case, it was after that spectical of what Kaida learned to be part of Yachiru's daily rounds for snacks. And it was also after that meeting that Kaida went about her own daily rounds, which was seeking out some near flora and greenery to expand and tidy up the gardens with. It was along her pathway back to the 6th Division barracks that she saw the little pink haired whirlwind having her fun at some poor schmuck's expense. Really the sight was all quite amusing to Kaida, and decided to join in the fun.
In a blink, she was right there--right beside Yachiru as she leaned toward the girl so they were eye to eye, even though Kaida's appeared to be closed as they always seem to be. A warm smile on her face, from among the numerous flowers carried in her right arm, she took a yarrow flower grouping with her left hand. The tiny bunched up white flowers of the yarrow naturally grew in a large grouping together all branching off from a single strudy stem.
She picked the yarrow flower out of the numerous flowers she had in her right arm simply because it is the 11th Division's symbol. So with a warm smile while simultaneously tucking hair behind her right ear she slipped the yarrow flowers behind the girl's ear as well, "You have very pretty hair, Fukutaichou", she said kindly with a carefree tone, "The white coloring of your Division's flower compliments it well."
Whether Kaida was simply indulging a playful Shinigami child, or attempting to get the girl's attention away from the poor sod she's tormenting, or was merely indulging her own whims and amusement, or a bit of all of the above--it is difficult to say. But it was fairly clear at the moment, "Restful Kaida", was certainly in her relaxed frame of mind.
When Yachiru caught wind of Kaida, a shinigami she'd yet to nickname. The woman's eyes looked pretty much closed. Yachiru almost forgot to continue steering her victim horsie, and the man had begun reaching behind his back in some vain attempt to brush her off.
"Get off!"
"You have very pretty hair, Fukutaichou," the squinty woman said, smiling as she held out a flower. As Yachiru pulled back on the man's hair, he stopped, just as any other horse would, but flushed and sweating with embarrassment. The woman tucked a flower behind Yachiru's hair, and the tiny shinigami's head tilted a good ninety degrees, her smile never faltering.
"That's funny," Yachiru chirped. "Can I eat them?"
"Fukutaichou, please get off of me," the shinigami said, attempting to straighten out before Yachiru leaned forward and peeked over his head.
"Ne! Ne! Penci--no, no, wait, you're San-san!"
"Please do not call me that."
The little fukutaicho leaned back and looked to Kaida, smiling as she tried to work out a nickname. Her eyes were closed, like Captain Foxy. And she had those funny hair thingies like Byakushi! Was there another one? Would she give her weird-looking snacks like Byakkun did?
The new 3rd Seat did not seem to take any notice of the poor schmuck that Yachiru was steering around. It was as if the poor guy never existed as she simply remained having what she thought to be a fun little segway from her usual routine by interacting with a little pink-haired tornado in the form of a cute little girl. Though she canted her head in response to the little pink-haired demon as the little girl seemed to be pondering something.
It would be a lie to say Kaida was a dash hesitant to learn what was going through the little ball of pure energy's head given her mischievousness. But it was only in the next instant she shrugged it off, and merely embraced going with the flow of the situation. She was too good of a rested state of mind right now to fret over anything.
Then again... the little fukutaichou could disrupte that equanimity that Kaida has going right now, therefore Kaida deduced she may as well play the card the captains do to keep the little thing out of their hair or at least kindly indulge her, which is to give her snacks. For as long as Kaida could remember she has always been a sucker for cherry hard candies (like Jolly Ranchers), but would never dare admit, especially the fact that she keeps hidden on her person.
Reaching into her sachel of flora and fauna seeds--pulling out from the sachel she unveiled to Yachiru three hard cherry candy bars, and without word--only a warm, gentle smile offered them to Yachiru. With a little snicker of her own, Kaida inquired, "Your day seems to be going well so far. Hm?"
Yachiru's eyes lit up when Kaida presented her with more candy, and in an instant she had snatched them up and begun to chomp rather loudly on one, gnawing at it for several seconds before she broke through and started to chew it casually. "Mpghh! Gmmph!"
"Your day seems to be going well so far. Hm?"
"Too well, in fact," grumbled Sanmaru, shifting uncomfortably under the pink-haired lieutenant. Being deemed a child's plaything was humiliating. Child or not, it was still a fukutaichou, and no matter how badly he would have liked to draw his sword and cut her off of his hair, he wouldn't do something to a fellow shinigami - especially a superior officer.
"Hai~! It's going so well I'm bored!" Yachiru agreed after she finished swallowing a hunk of hard candy. She looked back to San-san with glee lighting her eyes, and once again she snatched up his ponytail and began to pull on it. "This way, San-san!"
This time, however, Sanmaru did not move aside from the occasional jerk of his head. This was getting ridiculous, and he would not become a child's plaything. Anymore than he already had. Poor Sanmaru didn't know that no matter what he did, nothing would ever erase this stain from his history. If no one else, Sanseiu would preserve it for all eternity.
Assuming the little girl didn't spread the tale first.

Snickering Kaida responded, "Well, aren't you just cute as a button.", she smiled kindly at the little Vice-Captain, and then remarked with a faux-frown, "But then again... if you're bored. Your day isn't going all that well at all."
She snickered a little once again, "And if using this poor schmuck as a mode of transportation isn't entertaining you enough. Think about what will.", she advised and for the first time she acknowledged the presence of Yachiru's 'San-san'.
Kaida crossed her arms while though her eyes were seemingly closed, she appeared to gaze off thoughtful and pondered aloud, "But if that's not entertaining you enough leaving you still feeling bored. What will entertain you enough so you don't feel that way, I wonder."
She then turned back to Yaichru with a warm smile, "Do you have any thoughts of what would be even more entertaining for you?"
