With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.
Mizuki sat in her back yard watching the cloudless sky. The moon was out, and full at that! It was such a beautiful night for relaxing...
BAM! CRASH!!
There was some racket coming from the alleyway a block down. Was it a hollow? Or a cat? Maybe it was some stupid kid staying out late trying to get back in. Mizuki didn't bother with it at this time. She gazed back up at the moon and stars.
BARK! BARK!! WOOF!!
Damn it! It was to noisy tonight! "Now what the hell is going on!" Mizuki yelled and hopped up to look over her fence. A dog ran through the alleyway from where the noise had originated. "Maybe I should go investigate... Could be a damn hollow... Hate those things."
Mizuki hopped over her fence and started walking down the alley. She got to an intersecting part of the alley. She looked left and saw nothing, then right and saw some knocked over trash cans. Next to them was a three story building, in which the fire escape had been lowered... Or had it been climbed? "Hmm..." Mizuki thought to herself then jumped up and climbed up the fire escape. She made it to the roof of the building.
RATTLE RATTLE RATTLE. SPRAY.
Mizuki looked around for a moment then saw a billboard overlooking the main street. She didn't hear anyone, but thought that maybe there was someone there. Maybe they were on the front.
She walked over to it and a spray can feel down next to Mizuki. She picked it up and looked at it. "What the?"
She climbed the ladder to the billboard. On the platform Mizuki saw a guy painting on the billboard. There were no lights on it so no one from the street could see it, but Mizuki was there.
"Hey! You! Yeah, YOU! What the hell are you doing up here?!" Mizuki inquired.
Neko had decided to be adventurous tonight. Not only was he putting up a revolutionary message unlike anything he had ever done, he was doing something even better than an alley: a billboard. He was wearing a grey hoodie and a pair of jeans. The hood was up and he had a painter's mask on. This was going to be a memorable night.
He had painted Tokyo in flames with a flamboyant leader standing atop the ruins. The leader was planting a new flag in what had once been the capital building. Beneath the image he was beginning to write "Crush the Regimes of Old". However, he was doing double colored lettering. The inside was white and the bordering was orange. He had finished "Crush" and was beginning with the inside of the "t" in "the" when he had to take a break. He sat down on the platform for a second and wiped the sweat off his brow. Just another hour and he'd be done.
He finished the "the" inside and was beginning to work on the border when the orange ran out. He dropped the spray can on the platform but it rolled off and feel to the building below. He would have to pick that up on his way out. Suddenly, someone else was on the platform with him and it was a girl. Shit.
"Hey! You! Yeah, YOU! What the hell are you doing up here?!"
Turning his head, Neko didn't bother to take off his mask. He didn't want some pesky bitch learning his face. He cocked his head curiously and looked between her, the billboard, and the spray can in his hand.
"What the fuck does it look like I'm doing up here? Go home girl."
"What the fuck does it look like I'm doing up here? Go home girl."
Mizuki chuckled slightly. "From the looks of it, you might be getting in trouble kinda soon." Mizuki pointed down the street. There was a patrol car driving through the streets, and someone had called in the noises thinking that someone was trying to break in a home.
"Oh, and I'm not going home." Mizuki stuck out her tongue and pulled down her eye lid. She stopped for a moment. "So, you could tell me why you are up her... Or I can get their attention." She grinned and pointed towards the patrol car once again. Blackmail may be the only way to get any answers, but she thought she'd try it. He had no way of getting down except jumping... Or pushing her out of the way... Either way, he would be in trouble if she got their attention.
The patrol car flashed its light about and drove up to the alleyway. The cops looked around and saw the trash cans and the fire escape down. They began to think maybe someone did try to break in, so they began to circle the building, looking for more clues.
Mizuki noticed this then thought about it... If she ratted on him, then she would get caught... and if she got caught... Oh no! If I get caught they will tell my dad... And if he found out then he would have my ass for it for sure!! What am I gonna dooooo?!? Mizuki started to panic at the thought of her dad finding out that she was out late again!
"O-ok, never mind that. I won't tell on you... I-I was kidding anyway I just wanted to know what and why you are doing this... heh." She was nervous now, and it was easy to see. Then again, why not be nervous, she could get in a lot of trouble!
"From the looks of it, you might be getting in trouble kinda soon."
Looking off the railing, Neko saw the police car in the alleyway below. He looked around and thought about how to best escape. Jumping would be a bitch from this height. Maybe he could clear his way to the other rooftop? Yeah, probably. However, he would have to go down the ladder and get a running start.
"Shit."
"So, you could tell me why you are up her... Or I can get their attention."
"How about you not? I could always say that you helped out. After all, who would they believe: the son of an affluent businessman or you?"
He moved towards the ladder and he motioned for her to back up. Neko planned on going down it and getting the hell out of here.
"Excuse me, I must be going."
She then started freaking out. Obviously it occurred to her that she wouldn't be found totally innocent. Police wouldn't give her the benefit of the doubt. Well, they might. The law was sexist after all. No, she wasn't the right kind of woman. Small boobs and red hair. No one would want some of that. She was too...different.
The boy attempted to leave. He thought it was time to bail out on the project due to the cops, but Mizuki wasn't having this.
"Now wait a minute! Why are you so determined to get the hell outta here? Maybe the cops won't even look..." As Mizuki was finishing her sentence, a light shined up to where they were.
BUSTED!
"HEY! You two up there! Get down here right now!" The first cop started to yell.
"Shit! Looks like I'm with ya on the whole get outta here thing..." Mizuki slid down the ladder and looked around. Where would she go? She looked to the fire escape she came in on and there was the second one.
"Hold it right there! You ain't goin' nowhere missy!" The second cop yelled at her.
"I didn't wanna have to do this..." Mizuki made a crescent moon shape with her fingers and threw it at the base of where the cop stood. He jumped back as the roof below him crackled. It would break through, she wasn't strong enough to do that. But it gave her plenty of time to run. There was only one building that was close enough to jump to, and it was going back towards her house. She knew that was the only way... Maybe the boy would have to go the same way and she would see him again.
She looked up towards the billboard. "Better hurry! You don't have but a few seconds to get down and away!" Mizuki then ran and jumped across the alleyway. As she landed she rolled, to break her fall of course. She looked back up and the cop was closing in on the ladder to the billboard.
"Now wait a minute! Why are you so determined to get the hell outta here? Maybe the cops won't even look..."
"That's why dammit! Run stupid." He looked around. There was only one rooftop that he could get to. Even then he would have to climb down the ladder first. Then he heard the cop yelling. That was his sign to bust it the hell out of here. He threw himself over the bar and dropped to the edge of the platform. With a swing and a drop he landed on the part of the ceiling that was above where the door let out.
He landed rather harshly and patted the ground when he landed. Neko heard the girl yell at him that she was bailing as well. He didn't care; he had to get the evidence. He darted towards the policemen and the spray can. He grabbed it quickly and threw it into his bag as the policeman neared him. Suddenly, the girl shot some kind of blast at him which shattered some of the ceiling. It was just the distraction he needed to haul ass.
Obviously, she had some kind of power too. He didn't care though, he would never see this girl again. With a fell swoop he crossed the alleyway and looked to his side. Shit, the girl had come this way to. She was on the ground, however. She must have rolled to break her fall.
Mizuki looked at him then started running. There was another roof top close to where she was running towards. She jumped and rolled on contact with this building as well. She got up and walked near the edge. She looked to the right and the left. "Well now, we got two options here. One; go roof top to roof top till we find a safe spot, or two; we go to the alley and take it to my place which is right down the alley... We could stake out there till morning. Now, the problem with one is that the cops can track us by the people who call them..." Mizuki started talking about it, but decided it probably wasn't the time to talk. She jumped off the small building that she was on and landed on the ground. Barking could be heard, but nothing else.
Mizuki started walking down the alley. By this time, the sky had clouded up, and it was starting to drizzle. Mizuki did not like the rain, well, the clouds rather. They covered up the beautiful night sky!
"I hate the rain... And the clouds." Mizuki mumbled and started walking towards her place.
He ran a little behind her as they both cleared to another rooftop. She rolled for that one too. Obviously she wasn't used to this kind of thing. You didn't need to roll to kill the momentum. If you had to do anything you needed to skid. Neko was carrying a bag full of spray cans and he was capable of better feats. He looked over at her as she ranted on and on about their options. He really didn't want to camp out at her place. He didn't trust this bitch. She had tried to blackmail him.
"Look, just get me closer towards the heart of the city and I can find my way from there. I don't really want to follow you anywhere."
However, she didn't give an option. She dropped from the low building and he had little choice but to follow her. Not knowing the area, he was all but forced to follow someone who was. Even if it was a woman. He continued to follow her as it began to drizzle. With his free hand he pulled his hood further over his head. He didn't like getting wet.
"I'll stay with you until the rain passes. I don't like getting wet."
As Mizuki walked towards her place, the rain got harder, pouring instead of a light drizzle. This was not good for Mizuki... She didn't even bring anything extra! All she had was her small top and tight jeans, which were soaked by the time she got to her fence. She looked over the fence and saw the kitchen light still on.
"Shit... Gonna have to sneak in and make a quick change..." She whispered, trying not to be to loud. She looked back and saw the guy still following her.
"Ok, now you are gonna have to be quiet... Follow my lead and don't say anything! Otherwise we may both be in trouble..." Mizuki had grabbed him and brought him close to tell him this. She let him go then hopped over the fence and ran to the side of the house.
She creeped along the side till she got to her window, which was partially open. She opened it slowly, to be quiet, then jumped in. She ran over to her door to make sure it was locked, which it was. She grabbed her pj's and went into her closet to do a quick change. After her change she moved back into her room wearing her rope, which covered her half naked body.
She had pulled him very close to her to tell him that he would have to be quiet. With his mask still on, he was sure that she couldn't see his face. However, Neko didn't much care to be so close to her. She was a stranger and worse that that she was a woman. Frankly, if he had wanted to be closer to her he would've done so himself. However, the rain began to pick up and this was not the time for that. He had to get out of this rain and out of these clothes. He hated being wet.
"Gotcha. God forbid your parents think I'm a boy in your room at night. They might think something crazy like we're there to do the deed."
He hopped the fence behind her and followed her closely. He ducked low and moved quietly to imitate her. After all, it was her house and she was giving him shelter. He didn't trust her, not by a long shot, but he didn't want to get thrown out on the street. Or worse...arrested. The sound of sirens was pretty far behind them but he could hear dogs barking just a ways away. That wasn't a good sign. He might have to hold out here for longer than he thought.
She opened her window slowly and then climbed in. Following suit, he hopped in as well. Neko made a very graceful landing and looked around the dark room. He wasn't using his powers so seeing was a bitch. The girl had darted into her closet with clothes, probably to change. Thinking about it for a second, Neko took off his painter's mask and set it down in a chair then proceeded to throw his bag beside the chair. It was dark, she wouldn't be able to see him anyway. Also, he slid off his hoodie and hung it up on the back of the chair. He hadn't been thinking about it when he had dressed for the night but he wasn't wearing anything under said hoodie.
Wearing just his pants and shoes he quickly slipped off the latter. Shoes made walking louder and stealth was the name of the game. Thus, in his tight jeans and socks he sat down in a girl's room completely after dark. She came out in a robe and sat down on her bed.
