With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.
The white arena-like structure encompassed the 10th Division's training grounds. Pillars and broken statues littered the floor between the broken rounded walls. Though the building had no ceiling, the pillars that once held it up still remained. This was an ideal place for some training. Ryu knew this, and for this reason he had come to this place. He cracked his neck gently, then looked to the slightly cloudy blue sky.
"Sure is a nice day" Ryu smiles to himself. He turns, and lowers himself into the Iaido position. He quickly draws his sword, and slashes upward. He then pulls his sword and slash downward, then to the left, then the right. He quickly sheathes his sword, then stands.
"3 and a half seconds" Ryu mutters to himself. "Still kinda slow" He states. Suddenly, he feels the presence of another being. He turns his head to that direction. "Yo, did you come here to practice too?"
Shyra suddenly froze seeing it was Ryu, she blinked a few times and then gave a sigh ''Oh um...well something like that...'' she said and smiled. She was planning on training around here too, but it was so much better than solo practicing. ''Is that what your here for aswell....'' she asked before walking towards him.
She looked around the place seeing the old pillars and broken walls, she had only ever been her when she was younger, by herself pushing her body to its limits, she was stubborn like that when she was a child, she wanted to be the best, but she soon found out that being a shningami wasnt about that. Shyra smirked to herself at the thought of her standing here and not stopping for anything. She glanced up, it was a nice enough day and she had an idea. ''Say Ryu...you wanna do some practicing...one on one?'' she asked him.
Ryu was happy to see the young woman in front of him. She was a good friend of his, and knew his powers pretty well. He was glad it was her, rather than someone he did not know. Ryu smiles gently to the woman and smiles his warm smile toward her.
"Yeah, this is one of my favorite places to train." Ryu states, looking around at the environment. "And the best part is that if I destroy something here, I don't have to replant it" Ryu chuckles lightly. He was referring to his habit of replanting any vegetation that he destroys in his training. This usually occurs when he is training in the forest or mountains. Shyra would know what he was talking about, having mentioned it to her before.
Ryu smiles as Shrya offers the training. He nods and cracks his neck gently. "Yeah, that sounds like a plan. How do we want to do this? Any particular area you want to train in? Or all thee above?" Ryu asks as he walks toward her, stopping a few feet from her.
Shyra smiled a little, so he had used this place to train too, it was an idea place seeing as it was rudeiced to practically ruins and nothing could be classed as something you had to replace, as far as she knew. She did gowever pick on on his explanation on why he wasnt worried about having to replant things, she knew why, otherwise he'd be spending all day replanting things he had destroyed. ''Oh yeah! i know all about that..'' she said before giving a stretch with her arms.
''Ok then...lets see...'' she began putting her thinking face on, ''Well im guessing all of the above...if thats ok with you and all...im not so out of practice now seeing as ive been hard at it trainning when i can fit it in...so dont go easy on me'' she said. Shyra glanced around her before she turned and walked some steps away from Ryu putting some distance between them to position herself to start the trainning session. She smiled to Ryu giving him a wave of her hand ''Ok, ready when you are!'' she called to him and flexed her fingers back and forth rolling her shoulders a little getting herself prepared for this., it should be interesting.
Kaito walked through the arena the crisp wind blowing through his silver hair. As he made his way towards the main open-air training field he smiled, his friend Ryu had invited him to train today and since they had never sparred he was excited for the match, but as usual terribly late. Stepping out into the sun he shields his bright green eye’s from the sun raising one hand as he see’s Ryu and a woman prepared to fight. Stepping off to one side he sat on the wall to watch the battle. Calling quickly to Ryu, ”looks like you started without me friend.”.
Ryu prepared to engage in battle with the lovely young lady, when suddenly a voice pulled his eyes to another location. Along one of the walls towards the south sat Kaito. Ryu had invited both of them, hoping that he could get some good training in. He smiled, Kaito was late, as always.
"I would have waited for ya, but I got a little anxious..." Ryu says, chuckling and rubbing the back of his head.
"If ya feel like jumping in Kaito, feel free to." Ryu begins, then he motions toward Shyra. "This is Shyra, she is a member of my squad and a good friend of mine" Ryu says, smiling wide. He then turns his attention back to Shrya, and begins to speak. "He'll jump in when he is good and ready, so if it's all the same with you, we'll begin here" Ryu states.
He points a finger forward, preparing to attack with what could be called his signature technique. Blue and white electricity sparks from his finger as he begins to speak the command. "Number 4; Byakurai". Blue and white lightning blasts from Ryu's fingertip as the words roll of his tongue, the blast heading straight toward Shyra.
Shyra kept her eye on Ryu as he prepared to battle her, she started to think up in her mind about what kind of things she could do, to either defend or attack here. Her train of thoughts were interupted however once a voice called out to Ryu, she turned her head to look to the male who had arrived, he seemed to be a friend of Ryu's. Shyra shifted her eyes back onto Ryu a little as he introduced her, she smiled to Kaito. ''Hello...umm...'' she began but realised she didnt know his name.
Her attention was slowly drawn back to Ryu as he told her Kaito would join in when he wanted, she had a delayed reaction, but nodded ''Alright...'' she said and then noticed Ryu pointing a finger her way. She frowned a bit wondering what he was doing but the sudden words Ryu spoke made her realise he was starting already. Shyra shook her head a little as if snapping out of a daydream and then smirked seeing the blast shoot from his fingertip and soar towards her.
At the last second or two she had to escape it, she finally dodged with a shunpo step and was out of Ryu's sights quickly.
It wasnt long before she turned up again flickering straight in front of Ryu and drawing back her fist and sent it flying towards his face, but her clentched fist opened and her palm neared to him. ''Hadou 11:Tsuzuri Raiden!'' Shyra suddenly spoke and would hit her palm to Ryu's forhead, the electrical current running through her from the Raiden would hopefully work, if not she'd have to make a quick getaway to avoid a close range attack from Ryu.
Ryu's eyes open wide as Shyra suddenly vanishes, his attack travelling toward the wall behind her. A small explosion is the result of the bolt striking the wall. She then appears in front of him, her first drawn back. She was going to punch him, and he had to react quickly. Ryu throws up both of his arms, forming an X over his face. Only a second passes before he hears Shyra command her kidou, which caused Ryu to smile a bit. The open handed attack hit him, but Ryu held his ground. He felt the electrical current flow into him, energizing him. He smiled as he lowered his arms, her hand still pressed against them.
"You know better than that" Ryu says to her, a smirk evident on his face. Electricity sparks gently over his body, then, with a thrust, he uncrosses both of his arms, pushing them against Shyra's hand. This would hopefully give him a bit of room for his next attack. Ryu bends his knees, crouching down, then thrusts his fist toward Shyra, his target being her stomach. If his attack hits, a small jolt of electricity would flow through Shyra's body.
Shyra could hear behind her the wall behind her being struck by the lightening bolt that hit it, she watched Ryu as he noticed she was aiming to punch him and he threw up his arms in a defence for her attack. She hit his arm but he still held his ground fine. Shyra frowned a little noticing a smirk from Ryu, then it hit her, what had she done, a lightening based attack! Shyra's face cleary showed her annoyance at herself because she had energized him. She looked off to the side of her hearing Ryu tell her that she should know better than that.
Shyra looked at Ryu and smirked back ''I was just testing you...'' she said smiling before he had uncrossed his arms and sent her backwards giving some distance so he could attack, she noticed Ryu had crouched down, she looked down seeing his fist close to her stomatch, it was too late for her to dodge, but her instant reaction was to launch her hand forwards and catch his fist quickly. It stopped him from getting her stomatch but it didnt stop the electric current run through her, she flinched pushing forcefully on Ryu's fist she had caught shoving him back from her as she brought her hand back to her, that hurt, surprised her even. She looked up at him and glared, before she got herself back together, and then flash stepped and appeared beside Ryu her fist fast approaching his side her intentions to get him, but after that she turned her arm on a diagonal angle moving it towards her so that her elbow faced him and sharply jabbed her elbow his way, though she had her defense at ready if he parried her attacks and tried to touch her again with that electricity bolt.
"Testing me huh?" Ryu says as he continues to smirk and launches his fist toward her stomach. It caught him by surprise when she managed to catch his fist, taking the electrical current that ran through her like it was nothing. After which, she thrusts his first backwards, forcing him away from her. Ryu takes a few steps back and looks to the woman. She had taken the brunt of an electrical current and barely even flinched... well, as best as he could tell. Maybe she had gotten used the electrical shocks that come from melee attacks against him. If one would get shocked enough by them they might eventually think nothing of them. And Shyra, from the training they have done together, had been shocked plenty of times. He smiled at this fact. He was liking her more and more.
Then, she looked up, and glared at Ryu. He did not like that face, she looked pissed. She then vanished, flash stepping toward Ryu. He saw the entire thing, and turned to catch her fist with his hand. When she touched him another shock ran through her body. Not even a second after he had caught her hand, she pulled it back, and threw her elbow into his face. Ryu's eyes opened wide as he took the elbow in the nose. At first he clenched his eyes tight, his first reaction to reach up to his now reddened nose. He quickly stopped his hands from doing so and tried to launch an fist back to Shrya. He was attempting to use a right handed hook to catch her cheek. Then, he would throw a quick kick to her stomach, trying to catch her off guard. If he did, Ryu would quickly flash step a few meters away, and point his hand forward again.
"Number 4; Byakurai, Byakurai!" Ryu announces the double spell. From his palm blasts two bolts of white lightning, charging quickly toward the woman. The bolts would not pierce her, but would electrocute and singe her.
If his melee attacks did not connect or were dodge, Ryu would attempt to block a return attack from Shyra, then use his double Byakurai at close range, though, it will be much more difficult to dodge if he does so.
