With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.
This was a young girl , perhaps sixteen or seventeen by appearance, randomly swinging her sword around as she sang a nonsensical child's song.
"I'll chop you up~ I'll chop you down~ I'll chop you all round and round~"
The girl was a real beauty. No doubt about it. There was no makeup, no artificialness to that; only pure, raw enchantment. Her skin was smooth, white and flawless, like the surface of a silver moon. Her hair was untouched snow, falling from the heavens on a cold midwinter's day. Fingers, long and slender, unfit for wielding a weapon, gripped a short sword that looked too alien for her hands. Her golden catlike eyes had a mystical quality that enraptured both men and women, and her unbreaking grin melted stones with their warmth. The crow black insigna of the royal crest marked her status and seperated her from the others.
"Twenty-seven times and thirteen lives, all falling like rain to earth."
The young Shinigami's moves were rough and without sequence nor pattern. There was a bestial quality about the way she swung the blade, and her large actions oft gave too much opening away. But the way the dust settled around the training ground after each swing, the smoothness and ease each move flowed into the other... There undoubtedly was a skilled fighter here. And somehow, her viciousness, and the power by which she wielded her blade...made up for all the flaws and weaknesses she showed.
"Black eyes, dark side, no one gets to see the inside~"
Finally she stopped, plopping down onto the ground. It was no fun training by herself after all. Yukihana needed something more solid, something more real...something more durable.
"Oi~~~Anyone willing to give me an exercise?" She called out to the sky, her voice all cherries and sweets. Her laughter mixed with the wind, forming a tingling, pleasant sensation to the ears.

Around the girl large white buildings rose to the sky, seemingly scratching against the azure sky. Many of the buildings lacked windows, which was odd in and of itself. Atop one of the shorter buildings, only a few dozen feet in height, laid a man, a shinigami, though he did not wear the traditional shinigami garb. Instead he wore a yellow tunic, under which was a black long sleeved shirt. He wore black pants with white boots and a white belt. The gentle breeze blew his spiked black hair and the warm sun warmed his light skin. The man was named Ryu Mizumagi, and as he lay on the top of the building his ears picked up a slight voice. It was a woman singing.
Ryu slowly opened his eyes, then blinked a few times, trying to get used to the bright sunlight. After standing up, Ryu stretches his arms and cracks his neck and back. He then walks to the ledge of the building and looks down toward the ground, taking notice of a lovely girl singing while she strolls and swinging her sword wildly. The woman then stopped, and looked as though she was sighing. She then shouts into the air, asking someone for a challenge. Ryu smiles gently to himself, and levitates into the air. He slowly lowers himself to the ground and begins to speak.
"Hey, I'd be willing to give you a challenge" Ryu says, smiling to the girl as he lands. He walks toward her, and extends his hand to the young lady. She was very beautiful, which cause Ryu to blush a bit. "My name is Ryu Mizumagi. It's very nice to meet you" He smiles, his voice kind and gentle. He was not a bad looker at all, this was for sure. He had a kind air about him, and a charm all his own. Though, the slight blush was still plastered on his face. Ryu wasn't exactly the best around pretty women.
Yuki got up in suprise, to find that there was a voice coming from... well, above? She looked up, only to see a figure of a man, tall and , well, floating. The guy floated down to the ground as gently as if he were a feather , denying the existence of gravity itself. Was this a manipulation of spirit of some kind...? Yuki wondered, placing one finger to her pink, budding lips. Ou-sama, the world outside sure has a lot of nwe and intersting things.
She laughed a bit, when Ryu introduced himself and spoke of his challenge. It wasn't a taunting laugh, but rather a laughter filled with nothing but warmth and friendliness. "Ryu-san, ka? Then... you're a Dragon!!!" She laughed again, and pointed at herself, habbing at her chest witha thumb. "I'm Yukihana, Yuki for snow, hana for flower. Snow-flower! Haha!"
It looks like this lady really had the mentality of a child.
Quieting down, the girl began to stare at the guy again, this time with more interest. She still couldn't figure him out yet; he seemed a rather manly and somewhat skilled opponent, and from those ki waves emitting from him, not one she could defeat too easily. Perhaps. And though his voice carried a charisma of assurance and coolness, he blushed when facing her, a trait of inexperience to women. Well, she liked that shyness, too.
Finished deciding, she straightened up some more and grinned cheerily at her mystery guest. "Sure! I'll fight you! " She laughed, still sitting down in an Indian cross-legged position with her sword lying beside her. She hadn't really tried anyone from the area before, and was only going through her direct initiation into the 7th Squad. It would be interesting to see how a local held up, and furthermore, perhsaps she could read more of this guy from the battle.
"Ne! Ne! Come at me!" She cheered, not a hint of danger on her innocent face. "Yuki's quite strong, she can take anything you give...!"

The young lady in sitting in front of him was indeed interesting. She had the beauty of a grown woman, but seemed to have the mentality of a small child. Ryu wondered if this was simply an act she put on to divert people from her true intelligence. He wasn't sure, but the way she was acting made it seem like she was reading his actions and movements. She chuckles a bit at his suggestion, though, it was a sweet chuckle. She then stares at him and mentions he is a dragon. This happy exclamation causes Ryu to fall down anime style. He quickly stands up, a sweat drop on the back of his head. He chuckles nervously, and moves his hand to the back of his head, rubbing it. This was a bad habit of his. The woman then mentions her name. It was Yukihana.
Ryu smiles gently "Thats a nice name Yukihana. It has a lovely ring to it" Ryu states. The woman then stands and bounces to her feet. She seems to have a child like innocence to her movements, yet, she seemed to know exactly what she was doing. Ryu couldn't allow her child-like act to distract him. She was strong, he could sense that much. He wasn't sure if she was as powerful as he was though. As she stepped back Ryu watched her closely, trying to get an idea of her style of combat. She says that she is strong, and she will take anything Ryu can give.
"Well, I guess if you are so eager to begin, I'll start us off" He says, pointing his index finger toward the girl. "Hado 4; Byakurai!" Ryu announces. From his finger leaps a bolt of white and blue lightning. Tye bolt rushes quickly toward the girl, crackling violently through the air. If the bolt hits, it would not pierce the girl, but would rather electrocute her. Once the attack hits or misses Ryu would flash step toward her, his speed impressive in it's own right. Once he was near her Ryu would send a kick barreling into her stomach. With the hit, a jolt of electricity would surge through the girl's body. If this attack hits or misses Ryu would flash step a few feet away, attempting to keep his distance from the girl until he had a better understanding of her style of combat.
((...Actually... Yukihana hasn't bounded to her feet yet. but never mind...that...))
...NNngh? A spell...?Yuki thought without a speck of emotion on her face. She leant back casually, and as let gravity do its magic as she toppled down onto the ground again while the White Lightning passed overhead. I'm must be lucky if he's a Kidou guy... since I'm not bad at this too. Looks like this area doesn't really have too much difference from in there, Ou-sama.
Out loud, she spoke: "Byakurai is fast, but as long as you trace its path through the movements of the enemy... but doing it without incantation was correct. Looks like you do want to try me out." Smiling, she straightened back up again, the same angelic grin on her face. "Now, please show me what else you can do, Mizumagi Ryu-san. Its good to be a gentlemen to girls, but war has no gender."
Suddenly, another random thought must have struck her, ebcause she put a finger to her lips once more and stared at the sky with a frowning expression. "...That reminds me, you haven't fully introduced yourself yet, have you?"
Yuki took no other action; it would be foolish of her to do so to one whose depth she could not yet 'see' ...
