With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.
A rustle in the leaves was all that indicated his presence, a swift figure darted through the tree tops toward the gathering spot. Shinigami and Hollow alike were gathering there. Though Raiden's orders were to destroy all spiritual beings, the hollows were posing the greatest threat to humans in the area, so they had to be dealt with immediately. Raiden stopped at the gathering point, Several Hollows were carrying humans in there hands, three menos grande loomed over them like giant obelisk. One of the Menos had a child in its hands, ready to devour it like the monster it was. Raiden leaped out of the tree he was in and flew right toward the mask of the Menos with the child in its hands. He pulled out his Mk.23 SOCOM handgun and fired seven quick shots into its head before landing on his arm. Raiden quickly drew his blade from its sheath and cleanly sliced the arm he was standing on, the same arm of the Menos Grande that was holding the screaming human child. The arm fell cleanly off in that one strike. As the dismembered limb fell to the ground with the child still in its grip, Raiden pryed the hand open with his bare hands and tore the child away from its clutches. He jumped off and landed behind the lines of the advancing shinigami, placing the frightened child safely on the ground. The child still looked scared and traumatized, Raiden reached into his pocket and pulled out a mecha anime toy, and handed it to the child. The boy looked at Raiden and smiled slightly at him, wiping the tears from his eyes. He could see Raiden, as could any other person. This was because Raiden was a human.
Raiden quickly turned around to see the Menos grande that he had just attacked standing over him, looking as menacing as possible. The Menos began charging a massive cero in its rage. Raiden would have moved out of the way, but the child was still behind him. Instead of dodging the blast, Raiden lunged at the boy and shielded him with his entire body. The cero hit Raiden in the back as he clung tightly to the child, the blast burning through his thin, cybernetic armor. When the blast had ended, Raiden slowly got up and turned around. Pieces of his armor had been burnt away, but it remained mostly intact. The menos began to charge reietsu for another attack, but Raiden reacted this time. Raiden jumped off the ground with such force that the ground broke under his feet. Raiden flew straight at the menos's face, hitting the mask with such an impact that it began to crack. Raiden took his katana and drove it through the crack in the Menos's mask, causing the entire mask to shatter. The hollow screamed in agony as it started to fall to the ground, the earth crumbled underneath its massive body. Raiden lightly fell to the ground, breathing heavily. Just after felling the giant Menos Grande, a swarm of smaller hollows began to surround him. It looked like Raiden would just have to ignore the shinigami's for now, there were still waves of hollows to deal with.
Sayuri remained focused on the other minor Hollows swarming the air, allowing others in the area to handle the Menos Grande. Too many swarming a couple enemies leads to neglect against others, which easily leads to greater problems and issues. Since having gotten to know Soifon upon reaching 5th Seat, she has felt stronger and more complete as an assassin having watched her techniques and methods. She is still by no means on par with her Captain, but she has gained a slightly better understanding for things during her training.
It reflected in her speed and talent with Hakuda, she often finds herself drawing her zanpakuto less in battle, if at all. With a simple jump kicks Sayuri was snapping the necks of the minor Hollows killing them instantly, and with her immense Shunpou ability vanished from sight reappearing already in the midst of shattering the mask of another and cracking their neck in twine with vicious high kick before once more shimmering out of sight only to repeat the process at yet another target.
Jo-aun saw that the others were doing fine, but the humans were getting more and more hollow burns. She used her shikai and put all injured humans in the larger blood circle that had them all sleep. She then felt a large spiritual pressure waining," They took the human!"
Jube reached the Menos Grande the massive beast let out a loud roar as it opened its mouth and began to charge another cero. The bright red color that formed lit up the sky once again with its blood red color, as the energy swirled and was literally sucking in the air around the massive hollow. Jube watched as he dashed to wards the hollow like playing a game of chicken with it. The beast then released the cero at Jube, the powerful beam distorted the air, and literally split the air in its path, Jube could feel the weight from the raw power of the beam. His eyes widened a bit, he was going to be unable to dodge, the shinigami turned his wrist as a daimond shaped dome was formed around his body, the large diamond shape defense was as hard as steel and reinforced with reiatsu.
Then the clash, Jube's defense against the powerful cero, Jube wasn't going to take it head on he knew better, he dove downward but he knew that he was not going to completely dodge. When the cero hit, he could hear the dome begin to crack slowly, Jube spun turning his dome into a drill like defense as he grinded his way out of the attack. The sphere spun out of control in mid-air, then the sphere shattered into multiple shards of diamond that shined with the reflection of the moons light and the light from the cero above Jube. The shards rained down to the ground below, as the shinigami looked up with an angry look in his eyes as he dashed to wards the hollow again, his blade extended as Jube swung it like a whip to wards the hollow face. But he was short a few inches, no matter Jube detached the part of his sword, turning it into a boomerang type weapon, that spun to wards the hollows mask.
The mask struck its mark but not completely, it skimmed it taking off a good chunk, but not enough to kill the Menos Grande. The massive hollow let out a mighty roar which pushed Jube back a bit, forcing him to cover his face with his forearm. "Silence yourself!" Jube said as he exploded with reiatsu releasing it all around him, the reiatsu lit up making Jube look like a bright blue fireball. The fireball then charged at the roaring hollow as Jube moved up wards avoiding and attempt at a chomp at him by the Hollow. The sound of its teeth clashing echoed in the silent sky, as the fireball of reiatsu which was Jube spun and made the tip of his sword grow and expand itself. Jube pierced the Menos Grande's mask with ease as he came out the other end, his reiatsu slowly fading as he stood there and his sword returning to its normal size. The Menos Grande behind him turning to nothing but vapor. Jube looked over his shoulder, "What a pathetic creature" he said in a harsh tone as the Menos Grandes cry of agony slowly faded away with its slow death.
Sylumn walked over the hill just in time to see one of the Menos Grande die. He turns about and looks at the destruction that has been caused so far. A small, stray hollow notices someone new to the battleground and lets out a cry as he runs over to him. Sylumn places his hand above his right shoulder and gribs his sword. Before he was able to unsheathe a woman swiftly kicks the hollow in the back of the neck, killing it isntantly. Just and quickly as she appeared, the woman sped off to another group of hollows. Looking about he sees Jo-aun, who had sent the message, and quickly runs up to her.
"I got your message. My name is Sylumn Ryugi. Where is the human that needs protecting?"
Ryu flash steps into the fray, knowing he was out numbered, though, this really didn't matter to him. These Hollow were small fry compared to the Gillian that were currently being dealt with by the others. Ryu draws his blade, and leaps forward, slashing one's mask in two. As it slowly vanishes from existence, Ryu turns and blasts his Byakurai at another, the blast of lightning charging straight through the creature's mask and out the other side. Several more appear, they seemed almost like bats, at least a dozen of them. The monsters descended on the shinigami, but he only smiled. He placed both of his hands outward.
"Hado 58, Hado 4; Tenran, Byakurai" Ryu announced. An enormous tornado erupts from his hands, lightning lining the inside of it, causing the blast of wind to flash brilliantly. The tornado consumed the hollows, the lightning inside striking relentlessly. He aims the blast towards one of the Gillian currently in the sky. The blast hits it with amazing force, the lightning electrocuting the monster as the wind tears at it. Ryu then flash steps upward, calling out his zanpakuto. "Command Lightning from the heavens; Kaminari" he announces. With that his Zanpakuto changes from the shape of a Katana to that of a large black scythe. Swinging the massive weapon Ryu slashes open the Gillian's mask, killing it.
"Hadou No. 58 Tenran...", Sayuri uttered calmly as she extended her right hand to yet another group of minor Hollows before her, her palm facing them. A massive widening tornado exploding from her hand blowing them all away. Perceiving the claws of a Hollow attempting to slash from behind she shimmered from its view with her immense speed, and faded back into sight with her feet clamped onto its head as she spun around in the air. With her feet clamped onto the Hollows head like a vice as she spun around she snapped its neck rotating it three hundred sixty degrees before she gracefully did a standing backflip into the airusing its head to kick off of, which forced its limp corpse to flop crudely to the ground as it faded out of existence.
With the current humans slumbering as they are being healed, she extended her left hand at them as she quietly recited, "Bakudo No. 73 Tozansho...", a cyan hued glassy barrier in the form of an inverted pyramid formed over the wounded humans to protect them from further harm.
Raiden flipped forward and stood on both his hands as the hollows began to close around him. As he stood on his hands, two retractable blades ejected from his feet. Raiden began to quickly spin around on his hands, his feet spread out in a windmill attack, using the momentum of his frontal flip to attack quickly. All the hollows that were close to him were torn to shreds by the sharp blades on his feet. As soon as Raiden had killed all the hollows that were close to him, he pushed off the ground with his hands and catapulted into the air. Whilst still upside down, he pulled out his SOCOM hand gun once more and began firing upon hollows in mid-flight. He landed on top of a large reptile-like hollow with such force that he broke its spine.
The number of hollows was beginning to wane but the number of shinigami remained constant. This was Raiden's opportunity to strike them down while they were still occupied. As Raiden was about to Dash over to a nearby female shinigami and attempt to decapitate her, she did something that she did not expect. She cast a strange spell that encased the humans in a protective forcefield of some sort. Raiden had always thought that Shinigami were not concerned over whether humans were killed in their clashes with Hollows. For one to go out of there way to protect some injured humans was something Raiden did understand. Raiden decided to leave the Shinigami for now, but if a single human was killed, then the shinigami would be partly to blame.
Raiden quickly spun around in time to find a hollow lunging at him, Raiden attempted to run it though with his katana, but it was already to close. The tiger-like hollow pounced on Raiden and threw him to the ground. It's giant maw snapped down on Raiden's arm, a loud crunch could be heard to those who were close enough. The hollow proceeded to tear Raiden's arm off and devour it, prepared to turn around and finish its meal. However, the hollow began to choke and gag, the mutilated arm came out of the hollow's mouth almost as soon as it went in. However, instead of a bloody mess of skin and bone, the arm that came out was made of metal and covered with oil.[Raiden smiled, as he kicked out at he confused hollow, his foot crashing right through the hollows mask. The hollow let out a short scream before it collapsed on top of Raiden, crushing his other arm and the lower half of his body. Raiden attempted to shove the over-sized hollow of of him, but the thing was much more heavy than a normal hollow. It felt like it must have been made of lead! Raiden struggled to push the hollow off of him, but it was no use, it was to heavy for him to push off with one, broken arm. The only way to get this heavy hollow off of him was to get help or cut his way out of it. Raiden tried activating his retractable blade located in his wrist, but it wouldn't respond. It must have been broken when the hollow fell on top of him. Raiden looked over at his katana which was lying just a few feet away from him. He tried to reach out to the blade with his one arm, but it was too far. Raiden continued to struggle against the weight of the hollow.
((to those who don't want to read my longish post, Raiden is currently underneath a partially dead hollow that weighs aver 10 tons. One of his arms is ripped off, the other is partially broken by the weight of the hollow's body ontop of him. PS, his limbs are robotic, but appear human on the outside, the arm he lost was torn off and his now mashed up metal, so thats the only thing hinting to that))
Jo-aun saw a tiger like hollow pounce on a newcomer. He was part human put his blood pattern was strange. That was when she noticed the hollow gagged to death spitting out an arm, made of metal. She all of a sudden brought out her zanpakuto saying,"Azami: the flower of a thistle!" Her sword changed from a sakabato into a spiked sword.
There was a blizzard of horribly black snow flakes envoloping her body. She burst out and with 2 simple strokes the hollow was dissintigrated. The man seamed to have breaks all over his body,"I nevered healed mechanics...lets see." She used her shikai and cut her arm, creating a blood circle around the man, his breaks were mending and a new arm was coming out. Jo-aun stepped away," You might hate us shinigami, but we do our best to protect you humans more than you know."
She went to go take on another hollow and with her shikai released the hollows better watch out because now she has the arctic demons on her side. She shunpoued 4 times taking out 3 hollows each shunpou.
Their hearts are set on fighting. It seems speaking to them is almost useless. Realizing that what Shinoi said we true, Sylumn turned to join the onslaught.
Dashing to the nearest hollow, he quickly draws his Zanpakuto and lops off an arm of the hollow. It lets out a roar as it falls over and writhes in pain. The ear piercing roar attracts more hollows. Sylumn stabs the hollow through the mask and into the earth beneath it, ending the roar.
Noticing a wave of hollow running towards him, Sylumn grabs his Zanpakuto and hurls it towards a hollow. He jumps onto its shoulders with quick speed just in time as the blade pierces its mask. Sylumn grabs the blade, rips it out, and leaps backwards. After spinning in the air he lands infront of another hollow and cuts it in half. Stinging pains burn into Sylumn's back. Turning about he sees multiple hollows all with their claws, fists and arms outstretched towards him. He was surrounded.
"Send your surge of wind. Shinoi!"
A blinding light disorients the surrounding hollows. Using the opportunity, Sylumn swings his massive scythe in a circle, killing the closest of the hollows. Let me protect you now...
