The fist was so sudden. The seemingly innocent hand burried in his face. It was not innocent or gentle.
"So you Shinigami are suppose to be taking care of these Hollows?"
Ikkaku was about to say yes before she carried on. He didn't feel bad. He had espada and Aizen to deal with, not little hollows ravaging villages. She was being hastey.
"And now you're telling me that I have to fight them everytime I see one, even though you Shinigami are suppose to?"
Again Ikkaku was about to answer but she cut him off. She was nervous, crazy, and upset. Mixed into a bowl of emotions. Could one blame her?
"What do you think I've been doing since I got here? Not all of us have choices on who we can fight."
Ikkaku sighed. He was unsure why she was rambling about this. Shinigami were not perfect. No one is. Even great armies need help. She knew she had no choice, she had to fight. For humans like her it was live or die, everyday. It may have seemed stupid, but it was required. Other answers could have meant Ikkaku taking her in to the soul soceity. This was no laughing matter, or a matter to be upset upon.
She got up and walked away. Ikkaku would not be able to open her eyes.
"You are not a kid, Ishi-san. No one is perfect, even death gods. You cannot hide from what is inevitable. I ask you not to be upset with me, the situation is another matter. Life is unfair, cliche or not, it is true," Ikkaku said before leaning back on the bench. He would not chase after her. This was a lesson she would have to learn herself. Escaping the unescapable. Any two year old would say it's impossible. Adults would say it's possible. Who are the fools?
Ikkaku sighed as the girl walked. She seemed to enjoy the fight. She had a passion to fight. She seemed to like protecting her friends and fellow humans. Maybe Ikkaku was wrong. Maybe she couldn't handle life. There was so more she could learn. She could have asked him anything about life. Her stubborn blue eyes had kept Ikkaku in distance. She would have to grow up. Ikakku couldn't blame her. It was not a fun job. Ruins in your life. In the far reaches of Ikkaku's mind he hoped she'd come back to sit next to him, but he was no fool. She had to make her own decisions. Learn her own lessons. Who was Ikkaku to interfere?
