With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.
Ikkaku sat down on the bench. It was wet and dripped water onto the ground slower than time. Time seemingly got slower when you are waiting, and when your having fun it just runs right past you. Time is a bitch, Ikkaku thought to himself. It ahd just rained. Hope came in the form of sun however. The clouds were shoved out of the way by the blazing sun. Soon it was bright outside but still wet. Ikkaku grabbed his towel. He wiped his face in a circle and soaked the sweat off. Ikkaku had just came back from the kendo match. His bald head dripped sweat like a bucket overflowing. Little at a time, but you know that there is still much more. Ikkaku layed back. He had fought Ishi. She had asked him to meet her in the park after. She was an excellent fighter and a polite and beautiful girl. She was diffrent. In a good way.
Ikkaku stood up. Maybe she wasn't coming. He sighed. It was becoming a nice day. In this type of day you could walk, talk, and fight. You had an eternity of everlasting oppurtunities on this kind of a day. Ikkaku looked around. The grass was wet but you could almost see the water evaporate. Kids running around senselessly. Tripping over one another. Another few minutes passed and the park seemed to dry off. Clouds scattered and evacuated the sky. The sky was now a light sky blue and a bright balzing yellow sun stole the sky. He left the bench to get to another...bench. This one was already dry and it had an overlook of the water. It was still early to late afternoon. A few hours before nightfall.
Ikkaku looked at the sun's reflection in the lake. Without even someone telling him he kenw the sun was also reflecting off his head as well. The sun was in three places at once. The bald guy fell asleep sitting down on the bench.
Normally, the only time Ishi Ito took an interest in the park was when she was hunting those creatures, they seemed to gather in the woody areas. Then again, she wouldn't have invited a guy that she had just met from the Kendo club to the park either. The interested, 'ooohhh,' from the people lingering around the area was enough of a sign of how rarely she invited anyone anywhere. And the fact that she had taken her time showering and changing back into her school uniform was pretty much a sign of how much she was looking forward to this meeting.
Her footsteps clicked against the ground as she walked, her face was emotionless as she moved through the park. Truth was, this Madarame guy, he was different, to the extent she could protically feel the odd energy coursing off of him. That is why she asked to meet him in the park, she wondered if he knew what those creatures were? Life was a constant struggled for answers for Ishi, and maybe this guy had them.
She stopped walking, standing in from of Ikkaku, looking down at him with her calm, blue eyes, "Thank you for meeting me Madarame-san," she said, before she realized he had fallen asleep. For a second a look of irritation crossed her face, he fell asleep? She let out a sigh and her face grew calm again, no matter, she just simply dropped her school bag on his stomach before repeating, "Thank you for meeting me Madarame-san."
Ikkaku was dead asleep. Probabley snoring. He wouldn't know though. There was no dream. He had only slept for twenty minutes. Ikkaku figured if you slept without a dream you have nothing on your mind. Dreams are messages your brain tell you when you are sleep. Dreams reveal what your are worried about, want, or don't want to happen. You can't control dreams. They happen and you watch, no matter if sometimes you want them to end. Sometimes you remember your vivid dreams, sometimes you forget them instantly. It all depends on how much it means to you, personally. You would think Ikkaku was dreaming of training, but he was not. The darkness of sleep was awaken by a face. A blue eyed girl's face. However it was not his choice to awake. He felt a crushing sensation on his stomach. He opened his eyes wide and sat up. A school bag was on his stomach. It was suprisingly heavy.
"School must suck, carrying this around. How many books do you have in there?" Ikkaku said picking up the bag with one hand. He gave it back to Ishi. Madarame-san? Hmph. Only Taichou-Hitsuguya called him that.
"Hello Ishi-chan," Ikkaku smirked. Chan was a typical honorific for a teenage girl but it also could be used for someone you find endearing.
"I prefer to go by Ikkaku," Ikkaku said standing up brushing his hands against his stomach. Brushing it off as dirt was on it. He studied the girl carefuly. She was taller than him. He smirked. She had captivating blue eyes and her hair danced in the wind. She had muscular long limbs meaning she was strong. She had earned the title of martial arts champion, after all. Ikkaku reached in his colthes pulling out a hollow detector. It was picking up somthing far in the distance. It wasn't beeping though. He needed Ukitake to fix it. He looked back at the girl. He would prefer not to ditch her, but at the same time he didn't want to put her in harms away. He stuffed the detector in his clothes.
"It seems I must go do something for an instant. It's dangerous, but if you want to go I cannot stop you," Ikkaku said giving her a look that said she should come. It was against SS rules to get a human involved, but if she came due to her free will it was out of his hands. He would protect her. Maybe it was a bad idea to bring a human, but a fight was too hard to miss. He was strong enough to kill it and save Ishi from any damage. He would make sure she was at a safe distance. Ikkaku walked off toward the sun into a park full of hollow residue.
"It should take a second," Ikkaku said looking back at her. It was up to her, if she would come. Simple martial arts would not work against a hollow. Boy was he wrong.
"I study a lot," Ishi replied dryly trying not to let this guy get on her nerves. After all, from what she had seen he had been in and out of school to the extent that he had never even takne an exam, and there for didn't know the class ranking. "To get into a good university," she added looking down at the bald headed guy in front of her. Yes, she was pretty sure that there was something different about him. The aura around him was deep red, most humans it barely registered, not only that..she could just sense something wasn't right with him, since when did a Kendo stick just break like that. Let alone his sword technique was of someone who pratically lived with a blade in their hand, and no one did that anymore, nt since the age of the samurai died away.
"Call me Ito-san, we will never be close enough to use chan or even drop the honorifics. You can do that with Asano-san but not with me," Ishi then said tilting her head to the side, wondering why in the hell this guy would even think of using chan. Wishful thinking, or perhaps he did it with everyone, she hadn't seen him around enough to know for sure. She blinked for a few seconds as something pretty far away distracted her. She turned her head...she was pretty sure it was one of those creatures, it was too far away to be positive, but she didn't know anything else that felt like that. When she looked back to Ikkaku she watched as he got to his feet.
"It seems I must go do something for an instant. It's dangerous, but if you want to go I cannot stop you," he said to her looking at her for once with serious eyes that took her aback for a moment. Dangerous? Was he going after that creature, that cell phone he had taken out of his pocket hadn't looked like a normal one. She looked at him with oddly calm eyes and nodded, if anything he probably would just think that she admired him so that she would follow him. She quickened her pace and caught up with him, her prim straight posture and him slouching slightly with a wooden sword on his shoulder.
"Do you always carry around a wooden sword?" she asked politely, it was a rude question just a curious one.
"Chan is a honorific used for teenage girls. You plan to go to a japanese university right?" Ikkaku said looking at the girl puzzled. For someone who studied much, she said wierd things. The girl tilted her head to the direction of the hollows. Ikkaku raised an eyebrow. His eyebrow seemed to fly off his face and a ponder type face arose. Did she feel the prescence. Ridiculous. She was a mere teenager. He wondered why she asked him to come anyways. She seemed apprehensive and nervous. Why did she seem so nervous and then suddenly calm. The calmness. It threw him off. If she was calm, she had not seen a hollow before. They are black monsterous creatures. If a human saw one, they would be far from calm. Chad was the only exception he knew of. Even Orihime was nervous when encountering a hollow. At first Chad was nervous when encountering one, now he was fearless. Ikkaku straightened his back. He had just woke up so his posture was off.
Ikkaku turned around to see the girl trail him. He was running slower on purpose. This girl was strange. He would get down to the bottom of this. He would have to keep Yumichika waiting. Ikkaku dropped the wooden to the sword as the girl asked the question. It was a sneaky question. There are just some questions you don't ask. Some that you don't want to hear the answer. Ikkaku grinned.
"Nope. I usually carry a steel one," Ikkaku said not even looking at the girl who finnanly got up to him. Ikkaku only carried a wooden sword because he was not allowed to carry a steel one. He had never used this wooden one. His gigai left it behind when he went to his shinigami form. He prefered to not be in his gigai. It was tight and he would rather be in his spirit form. Ikkaku attatched the wooden sword to his side. They were almost at the hollow site.
"Tell me, what do you think happens when you die?" Ikkaku asked as politely as Ikkaku can. It was his turn to ask a slightly rude question.
Ishi opened her mouth to reply before her eyes widened, above....them? "Get Down," she spoked sprinting forward a blur if anyone had been around to see them. She slammed into Ikkaku's back dropping him to the ground, damn he was solid, her shoulder ached where she had shoved him. She brought her arms up, steadying herself. This was a smaller creature then then one she had sensed, probably drawn to this guy's aura.
"Oof," Ishi's lungs went as the creature's taloned legs crashed down against her arms. Seconds before, without her even conciously aware it had happened her bracelets, anklets, and belt had grown hot against her skin, the formed her armor. The ground around Ishi and Ikkaku exploded creating a crater. She dropped to one knee from the sheer weight of the creature.
"Shink," Blades, beautiful white/silver blades extended out of her arm armor. With a heft of her muscles, Ishi was able to move the creature enough to slice through it's foot. It's toes fell off, particles scattering in the wind. The creature let out a horrifying scream and stumbled backwards. Great it was a bird-type, not only were they strong, they had wind attacks when they flapped their wings.
"I don't really have time to think about what happens when I die, I'm really more concerned about what's going on right now," Ishi spoke, before smirking at Ikkaku and then taking off after the creature.
Ikkaku stopped as the gaint flying hollow arose from the park. It's wings started to flap haphazourdly. Ishi smashed into Ikkaku's back. He glanced behind him and made a face that said the words nice job. Ikkaku then refocused on the small foe. Suprisingly, it was not the one he detected. It was a weaker groupie. Ikkaku reached for a gigai pill as the beast raised his dark talon. He stopped moments before dropping the green pill in his mouth. An aura of intense power grew around him. Suddenly an impact crater covered the floor. Ikkaku watched as an armor started to cover her body. Two blades emerged from her arm section of her armor. She easily slashed the hollow's foot in a mere second. It stumbled back like a drunk at a bar. Ikkaku grinned.
"Wow...Do you always go kick-ass mode in the public?" Ikkaku said raising an eyebrow. He shoved his hands into his pockets. He was not one to intervene in a fight. The human and hollow are having a battle. He would not mess it up for her. Ikkaku reached down lower in his right pocket. He pulled out his spirit detector, cell phone, and saw that the stronger hollow was getting closer. Ikkaku looked at her oddly calm. He realized she couldn't be entirely human if she could make armor out of jewlery. He put the detector back in his pocket. His eyes refocused themselves on the fight.
"You should hurry that up. And I have a few questions...such as what the hell are you?" Ikkaku said shoving his hands back into his pockets walking toward the hollow and girl. He didn't said it rudely. It was more of a confused statement than scared. He slightly swayed as he walked. As a shinigami, he was supposed to report stuff like this. People such as Chad and Orihime can be calssified as dangerous and imprisoned by the soul soceity. Ikkaku shrugged. He took his hands out of his pocket and leaned against a tree.
"You got a few minutes before the bigger one of those come," Ikkaku said as he layed back on the tree. His eyes unfocused on anything. The next hollow would be his turn.
Lord, did this ass ever shut up? Ishi wondered to herself as her and the creature circled around one another. At least this one seemed to be a little smarter then the others. Most of them just attacked, but it was probably becuase it was confused about a human being able to see it and harm it. The creature began to flap it's wings, starting its wind attack, Ishi ran forward, her blades flickering in the fading light. She covered up her face as she wind whipped debri at her, a bench came flying at her. She easily flipped over it, her hand connecting with it to give her an extra boost as she flew through the air. She landed in front of the hollow as it stopped flapping it's wings.
Ishi Ito, though she was a expert martial Artist, her real fighting skill was letting her enemy hit certain area of her body, such as her armored areas, allowing for opening in thier defenses so she could attack. She didn't even wince as the creature's claws scrapped against her side, her blade easily sliced through it's arm. The creature screamed, throwing it's head to the sky. Ishi took advantage of it's pain, using it's leg, then it's arm, she spun around slamming her armored legs against it's face. It's mask began to crack, Ishi threw up her arms in defense as the creature took hold of her arms in it's teeth and threw her to the side. Ishi let her body go limp, she crashed down into a few bushes and landed against a tree.
Still oddly calm looking to the point that it was creepy, she got to her feet and looked at the hollow which was still screaming about it's hand. She ran forward, becoming a blur again, she was fast, she was strong, and she had fought creatures strong then this one. It had been a stupid mistake to allow it to grab her, she was lucky it's teeth hadn't been able to get through her armor. The creature had noticed her again, it let out another howl, Ishi was sure that it would attract the stronger one that kept nagging at the back of the mind.
The creature charged at Ishi as she did the same to it. She quickly brought it to a halt she she flipped in the air, crashing her leg down on its face. The mask shattered even more, Ishi winced, she had been hoping to kill it all together without seeing the face underneath. She then lifted her two blades above her face bringing them down into the creature's face and pulling them length wise. The creature scattered into millions of pieces, though she wasn't sure where those pieces went.
She wiped her brow and turned back to Ikkaku, her face still oddly serene as she walked towards him. Her lips frowned slightly as she stopped in front of him, "You know what those are...and I bet you're one of those people that run around in those back robes. So what is going on?" she asked her feature smoothing out again as she questioned him.
Ikkaku watched as the girl obliterated the hollow. Obliterated, yes, that was the proper word. A shinigami would have killed it in one clean strike. A restless human would obliterate a hollow. Ikkaku was impressed. Not shocked, however. Her fighting style was unique, but she seemed to be getting beat up. Not the type of beating Ikkaku gets. He sacrafices his body for a chance to hit a blow on his opponenet. Ikkaku watched as she shattered the mask. A strange way to end a hollow's life, indeed. She slightly forwned and Ikkaku looked at her with a face of confusion.
"You know what those are...and I bet you're one of those people that run around in those back robes. So what is going on?" is what she said. Ikkaku raised an eyeborw.
"I believe I asked my questions, so in all fairness I would prefer to be answered," Ikkaku looked at her. Black robes. What the hell. Shinigami getting spotted. Some shinigami must have done a sloppy job. Ikkaku made a hand gesture that signaled his clothes.
"I am not wearing a black robe and any human could see the gaint black thing coming from a distance, coming straight at us, which is going to arrive in a few minutes," Ikkaku said careful not to reveal anything he was not supposed to. He then frowned. He had just answered her question. He had a moping face that said I'm an idiot. He puffed his chest back up. An easy mistake. His chest full of unessecary confidence. He felt like it was an adequate excuse for the mistake. The hollow coming at them was a menos grande. What one was doing here he did not know.
He stepped in front of her seperating distance between the giant beast and her. He was going to regret telling her off about the black robes, becasue soon he would show her the robes. He stepped forward looking up at the monsterous thing. A bunch of little hollows combined. Not too much of a threat.
"Tell me, have you seen a black person with robes and what color were their hair, gender would be nice too," Ikkaku felt the first question was somewhat stupid. It wasn't thought. A low leveled shinigami would not be sent here. And Ikkaku knew all the shinigami that have had duties here for the past 50 years. He was curious. He wasn't looking for anyone to blame or acuse.
"While you take time to answer all the questions you ignored I will fight, fair...eh? I haven't fought something so big in ages," Ikkaku said grinning.

Ishi scowled slightly, did this guy really think she was stupid? How many times had she witnessed him, or those other students suddenly bursting out of their bodies and run off dressed in black robes. Was she the only one who noticed this, obviously many of her classmates didn’t see it. As well many people didn’t see the creatures, occasionally one would look up confused but then go back to doing what they were doing. She put her hands on her hips and glared, actually glared at this guy, an actually expression out of her usual serene face. But he was already walking off towards the aura of the big creature, making Ishi want to punch him in the back of his bald head, or at least throw a brick or something.
She let out a sigh and followed him, “I’m not quite sure how to answer you questions,” she told him her face serene again, her long legs easily catching up to him. “I am Ishi Ito, I am human, my family is up north. I died once but was brought back to life and then I was able to see people like you as well as these creatures. My mother told me soties of arriors in my family from long ago who could fight these creatures. I’ve always craved to fight them, I don’t know why,” she said her voice oddly even as she looked upon the menos grande. “Hardly see the point of telling you what these robed people looked like you were among them and probably knew them,” she then replied the sides of her mouth twitching.
“I’ve noticed with these creatures is when I use my armor they are attracted to me. It makes it easier for me to find them and fight them. And do you seriously think that I would allow you to fight this creature on your own?” she questioned looking at Ikkau and blinking her large blue eyes filled with questions, “I really don’t fight that way, not with something as powerful as that creature,” she said her skin practically vibrating with her aura as she smirked at the giant creature, this might be an entertaining fight, she had never battled with someone else before.
