Hinako was on the beach, once again, slightly happier than she had been earlier. Once again, the beach was deserted, she was the only one that appeared to be there. It was late, possibly past ten or eleven. That didn't bother Hinako. She was on her back, staring at the sky, looking at constellations, watching the few clouds being pushed around by the wind.
She pulled herself up into a sitting position and crossed her legs. She turned her head to an approaching reiatsu, saying, "Who're you?"

Kokaku was out for a late night stroll, gazing at the stars. They twinkled against the inky sky brilliantly. He was awed by their beauty, though his expression didn't reveal so. He walked along the sand of the beach, his steps muffled on the soft sand beneath him. The sea air smelt salty and somewhat fishy. He noticed a reiatsu a ways off, but it was just a human, nothing to really be concerned about. As he got closer he saw the human in his peripheral vision, drawing closer still. She had a considerably high reiatsu, for a human that is. Kokaku assumed that she could probably see and sense him, his assumption being confirmed when she spoke as he began to walk behind and past her.
"My name is Kokaku Shuuyou," he replied with an emotionless face, stopping his stroll. "It's impolite to ask someone else's name without introducing yourself first."

Hinako stood up, hands resting on the back of her head again. "And if I bothered with formalities every time I meet some guy on the bea- oh just forget it." She shoved her hands into her jacket pockets, closing her eyes with an annoyed expression that was, once again, hiding the everpresent lonliness in her green eyes. "Hinako." She looked down slightly, and from the corner of her eyes she saw a clam shell that had washed up on the beach.
Huh. I guess I could probably find some shells if I actually felt like walking down the beach but... Oh well. Maybe later.
She took a step closer to the shell, kicking it up and catching it in her hand. "If everyone on earth was polite then the world'd be pretty dull."

The girl seemed very sulky. She was avoiding eye contact and she made no friendly gestures at all. Kokaku couldn't help but wonder what troubled her, though his face didn't reveal any of his thoughts, his blank gray eyes following the girls movements as she kicked a shell up and caught it.
"Is suppose, but if no one in the world was polite it would be a rotten place to live," Kokaku responded after Hinako spoke, sliding his hands into the pockets of his coat. "But I have to wonder what you are doing out so late."
Kokaku's voice didn't really sound concerned. Merely inquisitive. As though he was simply trying to start conversation. His face remained emotionless.

Hinako rolled her eyes as he spoke. She tossed the shell from hand to hand, still not looking at him. After a few moments of almost silence, Hinako finally said, "Why not?" She shoved the shell into her pocket.
He's got the same kind of reiatsu as that other guy... Greeeeeeeat.

"I suppose you won't have to worry about muggers and such," Kokaku said. "Judging by your reiatsu, you can handle yourself against any human that wants to threaten you."
Kokaku wasn't particularly good at conversation. He had been isolated from the rest of the world, living and non-living, for so long he had nearly forgotten what it was like to speak with someone other than his Zanpakuto or his inner hollow. It was a strange feeling to talk to someone again, especially a human. It wasn't something he planned on getting used to. He had been isolated for long enough to prefer his solitude to most any interaction.

Hinako snapped her head to glare at the vizard with her deep green eyes. "Judging by my reiatsu?" She looked mildly annoyed. "That has nothing to do with anything reguarding other humans." She was, of course, refering to her mastery of martial arts. At this point, if another human without any abilities tried to attack her, it'd be a lost cause.
Besides. There's the instinct that makes them want to seperate themselves from me anyway. Alienation... Such a stupid concept to be so familiar with.
Once again she turned away from Kokaku, hands in her pockets and an annoyed expression scrawled across her face. She pulled the shell from her pocket, along with her other hand, and started to toss it from hand to hand again.

"I didn't mean to offend you," Kokaku said, though his face remained as emotionless as ever. "I was simply saying that your reiatsu is high enough that you shouldn't be too hlepless, therefore, you don't have to worry about all the threats that other humans might have to face."
Despite his unchanged expression, he truly was sorry. He still wondered why the human was so easily annoyed. Or perhaps Kokaku was just an annoying person to speak with. He wasn't entirely sure, nor was he particularly concerned with the matter.
"You look rather young. How old are you?"

Hinako had decided that nothing she said would get Kokaku to realize that humans could have strength that came from somewhere besides reiatsu and simply ignored most of what was said up until, "How old are you?"
Once again, Hinako rolled her eyes. Snatching the shell from the air, she said, "Thirteen." She slipped the shell back into her pocket and turned back to Kokaku. "How old are you anyways? Because none of you "Shinigami," or "Arrancar" or "Vizards" talk like you're from this century."

Remarkable, Kokaku thought. She's strong for a human, let alone someone so young.
"I'm seven-hundred eighty-seven," he said. He paused for a bit, looking out towards the sea. He finally spoke again. "So you have had past experiences with Shinigami, Arrancar, and Vizards?"
Kokaku had no clue what to say. He didn't show it, but he was extremely uncomfortable. He had no idea what to do, and everything he said seemed to irritate the girl that much more. Prolonged interaction was definitely not his strong suit.
