With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.
Waking up wasn’t fun today. Morie had woken up half an hour late, managed to forget to brush her hair after half-drying it, ripped her trousers trying to walk out of her door, stepped on a neighbour’s rat’s tail after it had escaped. Her motorcycle had broken, she lost her helmet to a rushing lorry and then walked into the back door as she attempted to get in. Her boss gave her into trouble, her co-workers teased her and her first customer gave her a look. It was not Morie’s day, but she’d force herself to get through it. Or at least through until her first break when she could smoke as many cigarettes as she could handle. Morie sighed as she leaned on the counter for a quick break, even if it wasn’t warranted, and put a hand through her hair. A waitress tutted at her as she passed and Morie frowned. Her manager passed by, giving out orders and Morie caught her arm. “Can I take my break now?” The manager nodded and walked on.
Closing the door gently, Morie rubbed her forehead and took out a cigarette packet. Looking into the small packet, she spotted only two and quickly slipped out one. Putting the packet on a bin lid by her side, even if it was extremely unsanitary, she found a lighter in her jean’s pocket and lit the end. Taking in a deep breath, Morie let out the smoke slowly and closed her eyes, leaning on the wall. Crossing one arm over her stomach, elbow resting on her hand, the woman thought for a moment. As good as this job was, she hated it. It stressed her out too much, especially since she thought she could correct her customers a lot. It took a lot of will power not to talk to strangers and correct what she overheard, considering how confident she was with her comments. Pursing her lips, Morie slowly looked up at the sky, eyes now open, and stared at the white clouds passing by.
Eventually she finished her cigarette and returned to work for another few hours, before her shift officially ended. Looking at the clock as she left the near empty restaurant, the small hand just turned to nine. Nine o’clock? Really? Putting her hands in her jacket pocket, Morie walked along the path quickly, staring at the ground. The streets were mainly empty, with a few people rushing by here and there, but this place was nice. Biting her lower lip, Morie quickly stopped and shoved her hands in her pockets, then checked her jeans. Oh damn it, she had left her lighter and last packet of cigarettes back in the alley. Glancing back, Morie huffed and turned to walk home, but at a slower pace. Might as well take in the silence she hardly got at the apartment. Having two young kids ‘in love’ below her that loved screamo music wasn’t really fun.
Sasuke stood in an alley way around the corner from Morie in his hand a red steel wrench, the 12 year old boy was backed up against a corner seven large men surrounding him. "Please sir I meant no offense i simply don't have any money". The leader of the group a tall burly man with muscled arms and a hairy beer gut protruding from under his stained white under shirt, taps a lead pipe in his hand "Sorry kid but this is Tunnel Snake turf and it seems you walked in without paying the toll, guess that means you owe us... but im not a mean guy, if you don't have the money we can work something out, you serve as our servant for a year or two and im sure we could work something out". Sasuke holds up his hand his face looks fearful but on the inside he was calm and cool he liked toying with his meals. "I can't be your servant I have to go home" The guy brings the pipe across Sasukes face knocking him to the ground, "Did you just talk back to me you ungrateful punk I gave you a chance to save yourself but it looks like your going to die". With that the man raised the pipe to strike Sasuke his buddies laughing and cheering him on.
As she walked along the street, heels clicking on the ground, laughter slowly filled the air. Morie just guessed that it was just some drunk guys falling over themselves to get into another bar. Frowning, Morie knew she’d have to try and avoid them, although usually drunk men ignored her and went for the girls in the short skirts and high pitched giggles. Morie mentally rolled her eyes at the thought of fat men attempting to pick up some young women, and she certainly hoped those young girls would be able to look after themselves and refuse any offer they gave. No matter how tempting, Morie would always think that they were just bluffing so they could get laid. Stuffing her hands into her jacket pockets even more, Morie turned the corner and glanced down the alley where she heard the laughing. Right, in an alley. Not suspicious at all.
She was about to just walk past when she noticed one of them. Stopping, Morie raised an eyebrow. They all seemed to be ganged around something, and their laughter didn’t seem like drunken laughter. Looking them all up and down, she did a double take when she noticed some…one lying at their feet. What the hell? It looked like a child! Frowning, Morie wondered if she should question them or not. Of course she wanted to, but could she go against them all? Obviously not. But she could always… No, not to these people. She couldn’t just run about protecting them. Besides, could her earthen spikes burst through pavement? Still, it was terrible he even attempted to hurt that kid.
“What’re you doing?” she demanded, her voice rising to show she was serious. Glaring at the group, she took a step forward, hands coming out of her pockets.
The gang of men turned to the woman, the leader working his way towards her while the rest of the gang smiled huddled around Sasuke some trying to hide his form with there bodies, The large man approached the lead pipe still in hand "Well hey there girlie, you sure are a pretty little thing out here at night in the big bad city, why don't you let me and my friends show you round make sure you know of the bad neighborhoods and such" the man finishes his statement his lips curving into a wicked a smile. Sasuke remains on the ground pretending to be frightened annoyed that someone had interrupted his little game but intrigued by the spiritual pressure of the girl, he had intended on eating the leader whose spiritual pressure showed he had some ability , but the girl had a much stronger presence. A small smile escapes from Sasuskes lips, disappearing as quickly as it came as he thinks hmmm maybe ill get a better meal tonight than I thought.
Morie grimaced and frowned, making sure it was visible. That was disgusting, and she couldn’t believe he had even tried that sort of line. It also didn’t make sense, considering this seemed like a bad part itself. Glaring at him, making sure to look him in the eye, no matter how tall he was compared to Morie, she clenched her fists. She was getting into something very stupid, she knew that, but she just wanted that kid to be okay. But then again, she felt it. Soul pressure. Did this guy in front of her even know what he had? But was that all of his? No. She glanced past his shoulder, noticing the group hide the child she had spotted a few moments ago. Was… It him?
Quickly looking back at the guy, Morie shook her head. “No thanks, I know my way about here.” she answered, but her stern voice showed she was totally not interested in the offer for a whole other reason, “What’s behind your gang there? Not anything important, is it?” she continued, nodding to them. Tilting her head to the right slightly, she made a move to step past him and walk towards the group, but she highly doubted he’d let her pass. She concentrated her spiritual energy just in case, flexing her right finger to get ready.
The large leader steps into Morie's path wrapping his arm around her he stunk of body odor booze and cheap cigars, "Now now girlie, that's the way to be a bit more friendly the call me Spike, the electric bulldog." Leaning in close his breath reeking of whiskey and decay, "now that were more acquainted how bout a kiss", Spike gripped Morie tightly squeezing her using the arm around her shoulders, as he leaned in. Sasuke stared at the scene from between the mens legs remaining down, watching with great interest as Morie's reiatsu seemed to concentrate slightly on her finger. Preparing his on reiatsu he mentally notes the position of all the men around his calculating the trajectory needed to kill them quickly and silently.
Morie scowled at the man, making sure she was feeling confident enough. Oh god, he was touching her. She barely had time to step away, but as soon as he leaned close and squeezed her nearly to death, Morie gasped slightly and a spike shot up from the ground, right between Morie and this Spike person. Of course she didn’t know if she had managed to hit him or not, and she was very glad she hadn’t hurt herself. Quickly backing up out of his grip, Morie snorted. “You’re not my type, Spike.” she said, sounding even more angry and looking it.
She wanted to shudder now, after thinking over the scene. That was really disgusting. His breath was awful, and his appearance didn’t help. “Now, why don’t you just run along and go pester some other innocent person your own size?” she teased, one hand on her hip. Narrowing her dark eyes, Morie felt even more confident than before. She took her chance to glance at the group, and suddenly wondered. Had she just imagined the little kid? Was she getting herself into too much trouble?
Spike howled in rage as the spike skimmed his foot ripping a chunk out of his big toe, "You think your tough cause you got some powers, we'll I got powers too missy and im gunna make you regret turning down Spike leader of the tunnel snakes.". Spike then hunches over flexing his muscle as an electric current surged around his body running forward he charged at Morie screaming the whole time as he did. Meanwhile Sasuke sat impatiently this whole thing was taking too long slowly he gets to his feet the men surrounding him distracted by the fight don't even notice as he slips up a fire escape crouching on he roof above waiting for the right moment.
That was gross. Frowning, Morie took a few steps back as he threatened her. Wait, what? Alright, so he could do stuff. That was just perfect. Gritting her teeth as he charged at her with some sort of… Lightning flying about, she snorted. No, that wasn’t lightning, it was electricity. God, Morie, get it right! Wait, this meant a fight. She didn’t want a fight! Ugh. Perfect. Wonderful. See the things you get yourself into, Morie? Deciding that talking to herself was going to do no good, Morie attempted to dodge, but he had managed to get her shoulder as she did and she lost her balance, falling over onto the ground.
Wincing, her shoulder in pain, Morie seriously hoped it wasn’t out of its socket. Glaring at Spike, she scrambled to her feet and grabbed the spike that had come from the ground, easily breaking it so it was spiked on both sides. Alright. It had to work as a sword. Thing was, she didn’t know how to use a sword. Biting her lip, Morie glanced at Spike, then at the gang. Backing up slowly, she waited for them to move, but then she spotted something. An empty space. It was gone! God, she knew she was going to die. Morie knew she had just saw nothing. Looking from the gang to Spike quickly, the woman thought of something to say that might help.
“Ya sure we can’t work this out some other way?” she asked, “That doesn’t include us going out anywhere together?”
Sasuke watched from the roof top confused, why wasn't the woman fighting, she should be easily able to destroy this lumbering fool, he sat becoming angrier at her lack of action, the whole situation was wrong if you didn't fight to survive you would die, she was barely even fighting. Spike yelled at the girl "it's too late girlie you injured a member of the Tunnel Snakes now your gunna die ain't that right guys?" Spike turned to where the group of men once where, had he been paying attention he would have seen the vines that grew down along the building wall springing out and wrapping around each guys throat yanking them up and snapping their neck before they could even scream their bodies now pilled on the rooftop. Spike screamed in rage, "Cowards where did you go just cause some girlie has powers doesn't mean she's anything to be afraid off"
