Corazon could tell he was hurt. Well, the way he was holding his side totally wasn’t a giveaway. She didn’t find it very fair to fight against someone wounded, but she wasn’t exactly going to go find some doctor and make him fix Christian. Nor was Corazon just going to let him go so he could tattle tale to everyone in Soul Society that espadas now come skipping back to Karakura for the hell of it. Corazon didn’t want to let this Shinigami go without seriously injuring him, but at the same time she felt it was unfair he was already injured without her even doing anything.
Watching his every move, Corazon quickly raised her blade to block the blow. She slid the blade of her zanpakuto along his towards him swiftly, angling it slightly so she was aiming for his side that he didn’t have his hand over. Corazon would have used a cero, but she was far too close to make it safe enough for herself. See, she thought about these things! Corazon mentally smirked, but on the outside the woman was frowning at Christian.
She was still partially in awe that he was stupid enough to hit a tree. I mean. Seriously? Seriously?

Christian pushed back with all his strength, trying to avoid the Espada’s attack. He managed to get out of the way of the initial impact, but the tip of her zanpakuto managed to reach the left side of his chest, making a long slice across it. He slid backwards, trying to get as much distance from the woman as he could; he planted his zanpakuto deep in the ground to halt his progress.
Withdrawing his zanpakto from the ground, he let out a sigh; he didn’t want it to come this far, he didn’t want to have to resort to using her. He held his zapakuto out in front of him, before sharply bringing the blade down in a swinging motion. “From the Left eye of Izanagi, come forth!” He called out. He was then covered in bright crimson flames for a moment, before being covered by smoke.
As the smoke cleared he became visible; his zanpakuto was now a long daito, with a red blade and hilt. He couldn’t help but smile at the woman; this is where the fight really began. He gripped the blade tighter lifting it up high in the air, before flash stepping in the direction of the Espada, after which he attempted to bring his blade sharply down, aiming for her skull.

Corazon looked him in the eye as he slid backwards, straightening up, but her arms were tense. She was ready to move as soon as he attacked again, but it seemed like he wasn’t planning to just yet. Was in that much pain? She didn’t take her eyes off of him, in case he suddenly flash stepped. But then it looked like he was going to unleash something. His shikai. Listening to him call, Corazon didn’t even move when he was engulfed with fire. Grip tightening around the handle of her zanpakuto, Corazon looked his shikai over. It looked very plain.
She immediately raised her zanpakuto to block his attack, but her hand had moved too much forward and he managed to get her knuckles. Shock ran through her body, but thanks to her hierro he didn’t penetrate her skin. The espada smirked at the shinigami when she noticed and thrusted her right arm forward, aiming a punch at his stomach.

Pushing his zanpakuto down on the woman’s, Christian managed to use to use the momentum to propel himself backward, dodging her punch. He slid back across the floor, still clasping his ribs, he had definitely broken a few but that wouldn’t stop him from continuing. After planting his zanpakuto into the ground to regain his balance, he stood up a vague smile on his face.
He withdrew the blade from the floor and held it out in front of him, it had been a while since he had had to use this ability, but he just hoped he could achieve a victory before the woman decided to release her zanpakuto. A slight smile crept along the left side of his face; he then proceeded to run his fingers along the blade, muttering: “Amaterasu ignite.” Following the path his fingers had taken, bright crimson flames enveloped the blade. This wasn’t his only ability but it was his best for close combat.
His hand was still on his ribs and his breathing was raspy; he moved the blade to down by his side, before using a flash step to try to get an advantage over the Espada. He had gone round to her left side and had aimed a blow at her midsection; even if he didn’t get a hit he hoped that the flames would be enough to at least burn her, as it hadn’t worked when he had hit her knuckles, Hierro always annoyed him.
