With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.
A garganta slowly appeared in the sky above Karakura Town. Stepping through it slowly yet gracefully was Corazon, alone. Did she have a reason to be here? Of course. She was basically on a mission, and slightly bored. It wasn’t a terrible thing that she decided to leave Hueco Mundo out of boredom, surely other arrancars would’ve done it too sometimes. Looking down at the town, Corazon frowned slightly and began to walk down towards the ground, although she made sure to take her sweet time. This place was… Odd. Not exactly interesting, but not so boring she didn’t like being there. There was always something to look at, even if Corazon didn’t make it totally obvious.
She paused, close to a tall building filled with clueless people that were rushing about everywhere in their little offices. Watching them for a moment, hand resting on her zanpakuto, Corazon narrowed her eyes slightly before looking round again. Not taking her eyes off of the ground, Corazon flexed her fingers, hearing them click and looked away from the land finally. Would someone pop up to make life more interesting? Would they want a fight or just an explanation?
Pfft. Since when did Shinigamis actually try to negotiate with the ‘bad guys’?

Christian could only sigh at his current situation. He had been sent to patrol the town, but he hadn’t encountered anything out of the ordinary, it had been a very boring, mundane evening for the young shinigami. He was on top of an office build, about one hundred and fifty foot from the ground; he was trying to get a clear view of the town, to see if any hollows or anything were managing to hide their presence and elude him.
It was after about three minutes of looking when it happened; he was just about to head to another build at the opposite side of the town when a garganta appeared. It seemed to be a woman stepping out of it, but what did the arrancar want now? They had already lost the battle that had taken place here and retreated back to Hueco Mundo. Christian walked forward toward the area where the garganta was situated. “Hey you!” He called. “What’re you doin’ here?"
He knew it was a bad idea almost immediately after calling out; he wasn’t really looking for a fight, but it seemed he had just walked straight into one. The shinigami didn’t move, he just let his hand hover by the hilt of his zanpakuto waiting to see what would happen.
After hearing a voice Corazon stopped moving completely. She slowly turned her head to look at the shinigami and raised an eyebrow at him, taking her right hand off of her zanpakuto. It’d be rather useless considering she did almost everything with her left. Who was he to question her? A shinigami. Of course. Duh. She noticed his hand on his zanpakuto and Corazon turned to face him, muttering something about uselessness under her breath. This really wasn’t what she was planning on, but Corazon knew it was kind of inevitable now that he was here.
Deciding to ignore all his questions, she started a different topic completely. “I am not ‘you’. My name is Corazon.” she greeted him with a tone that said I-am-a-completely-mature-person, “And what’s your name?” Corazon put her left hand to her zanpakuto to show that she was ready for a fight. She wondered what rank he was, as well as what division he was in. The division didn’t really matter, but Corazon didn’t really expect him to be that powerful.

Christian chuckled at the woman’s response; most of the arrancars he had met were arrogant and thought that they were more powerful than himself, this usually giving him a slight advantage in a fight between them. She had a strange tone in her voice, it was almost like she was mocking him, trying to act almost more mature in front of him. He smiled at her, before bowing. “Christian DeSoix. Third seat of the Ninth Division. Part of the Thirteen court guard squads.”
He slowly returned to facing her, a look of bemusement on his face. “Look.” He said calmly. “I’m not here for a fight. So could you just kindly go back in your little garganta and I’ll pretend I never saw you.” He was pretty sure that this plan wouldn’t work, but he would give it a go.
He sighed, thinking about the battle that had ensued before in this very area. He had lost many friends and comrades, of course making it worse was that his Captain had been one of the men that had set up the entire ordeal. He had thought that he was a different kind of man to that, he was always bound to justice but he went against it with the decision to join Aizen.
He snapped out of his semi-trance almost instantaneously, he returned his focus to the arrancar above him. He was wondering why she hadn’t attacked him, after all weren’t the arrancar meant to kill any shinigami on sight. This further confused Christian, as he carefully eyed the woman, trying to jusdge her movements.
Third seat? That was rather impressive. Corazon didn’t take her eyes off of him - she had nothing else to look at anyway - and decided it was good to introduce herself after he had stopped speaking. Of course he had to bribe her. It wasn’t exactly a bribe, more of an agreement, but would that be interesting? No. Of course not. Besides, killing at shinigami would be rather useful. One less shinigami for the arrancar to care about, even if no one was going to particular attention to this man. Christian, was it? Yes, he had just told her it. “Third seat is rather impressive.” she said, ignoring everything he said for the moment, “Might as well tell you my rank. Noveno espada.”
She stepped towards him, unsheathing her zanpakuto. “And I’m afraid now that we have greeted each other, it is only polite that we fight.” It was an odd rule of hers, and it confused people a lot, but Corazon liked it. Now that she knew his rank and name, they were destined to fight unless someone interrupted them and ordered either one of them to stop. Unless it was Christian’s captain telling her to stop. Then she’d just continue.
Corazon stared at him for a moment. He looked like he was in a day dream, and wondered what he was thinking about. Friends? Family? His life? How much he was fucked?

“Wow… The Ninth Espada. Didn’t we kill all of you bastards in the fight? So they’re still churning you out then? Well the more the merrier I s’pose.” He was trying to show that he wasn’t scared. The truth being that he wasn’t, if he had to get into a fight he would, but he really wasn’t looking forward to one.
Christian looked at the woman, before letting out a sigh. It seemed as if he was destined for a big battle as soon as he had come to Karakura, after all it had served as the battle ground between the two factions in the past and now would see another. He quickly let his now bright orange eyes scan the surrounding area: where they were was far to occupied to fight in, it would effect the whole building and the people in it. I say we have a little chase. A voice muttered in Christian’s head; it was his zanpakuto’s spirit speaking to him, she would always tell him to do something like this before a battle, last time he fought she had told him to ‘play hide & seek’ with the opponent, and this time wasn’t much different. The only difference this time being that he would actually take her advice. He looked up at the approaching woman, a smile spreading across his face.
For a split second he seemed to then vanish, before suddenly appearing on a building adjacent to the one he was on previously; he had always been extremely skilled in shunpou and now he was using it to his advantage. He began to head toward a heavily wooded area where they could battle with no effect on the civilian population
Hahaha. Kill them? Right. They would just keep popping up over and over, no matter who you kill, they always came back. Like insects. But insects were gross to Corazon, so she’d rather not compare herself to horrible little things that crawled around insanely and completely avoided getting squished when you slammed your foot down on the ground several times. So, in the end, she decided to compare herself to nothing. Corazon was her own person, even if she just evolved from a hollow.
But then he disappeared. Corazon raised an eyebrow. No, wait, he didn’t disappear, he just shunpou’d. Spotting him quickly, she sighed. Why did she think he’d make this easy? Her skill at sonido wasn’t considered amazing, or at master level. Narrowing her eyes, Corazon followed after him using sonido, appearing in every place he did before he moved again.
“Why are you fleeing?” she asked, noticing the trees. She could care less about the fact she couldn’t hurt any civilians, it was the fact her resurreccion release would be horrible. Of course she could just cut down the trees and branches in her way, but you couldn’t really do hand to hand combat that easily in a big crowded place.
Continuing forward, the shinigami chuckled at the Espada’s question; she was wondering why he was fleeing, surely Espada were clever enough to figure out that shinigami didn’t usually involve humans in a fight or let any possible harm come to them. He wondered why she hadn’t seen it, Espada were meant to be the cleverest and strongest arrancar out there. But he ignored this and kept on pushing forward toward the trees.
“I’m not fleeing.” He said, looking over his shoulder at the woman, not looking where he was going. “I’m just simply hav-“ There was a loud thud and Christian fell on the floor, the wind taken out of him. He had gone into a tree; he started regretting even turning his head back to the Espada, he had always been taught to keep his concentration, but he was never any good at it. He started to get up, the wind taken out of him.
Well that ruined the image you were trying to portray. Amaterasu, the spirit of Christian’s zanpakuto said, almost laughing. She would always laugh at him in these kinds of situations, not usually trying to lend any help, just making fun of his mistakes. The shinigami sighed, looking up at the Espada; it felt as if he had a few broken ribs, but that didn’t make a difference, he would fight no matter what.
"This'll do." He said, looking up at the Espada. Although his image had been completely shattered and it was probably humorous for the arrancar, he tried to say it as if he had planned it all along.

Corazon watched him as he ran. He wasn’t fleeing, he was just jumping about randomly and it just so happened that jumping was happening away from her? Of course. Corazon glanced behind her, then looked back round at Christian just in time to watch him crash into a tree. Raising both eyebrows, Corazon appeared on a branch, hovering just above it, and looked down at him. Was this guy for real? Did he really just do that? She felt sorry for him. Fighting with an Espada, even if she was the ninth, and he didn’t even pay attention to where he was going. Questioning his motives weren’t important any more.
She stepped down to the ground, zanpakuto still in hand, and she looked at him as he stood up. What a moron. Corazon didn’t find it very funny, she just found it… Insulting that fate had given her the ‘chance’ to fight someone like Christian. “If you say so.” she said to his ‘this’ll do’. Lifting up her sword slowly, she very quickly slashed at his right side, standing on her right heel and spinning round him, aiming another powerful swipe at his back.
Christian could barely handle himself against the espada’s attacks; she was very fast and powerful at the same time. He had just managed to doge her first attack, and had managed to parry her second blow. He had always been quick with a blade and his speed had always rivalled that of a Lieutenants. He wasn’t sure if he would be able to hold this woman off for very long, but he would try his best.
He stood there, holding off the woman’s attack, his left hand covering his ribs. He had definitely broken some, because it was now becoming painful to breath and his vision was becoming mildly blurry because of it. He was contemplating whether to realease his zanpakuto or not, he would then become more powerful then he was and maybe would have a chance against the woman. She was very strong after all.
He then quickly moved back, before trying to sweep to the side aiming a blow at the woman’s mid-section. His usual pattern had been disturbed by his lack of movement, due to his ribs. He would have to try and hold this woman off for as long as possible until hopefully someone from the Soul Society or anyone for that matter would come and assist him.
